You know what i love to headcanon.

Jay is actually the average height for males, maybe even just a tad above it. He’s gone through his whole life being told he’s tall or just no one even commenting on his height. But then he joins the ninja and God he hates their genes.

Like why are they towers, why are they so big in length, where does the width come from, why are they so bloody large this isn’t fair-

Even Nya, who used to be shorter then him and the average height for females, shot up to be just half a head taller then him and he hates it because why is that he’s now only barely taller then Lloyd.

He thinks he’s taller than Wu until the old man finally straightens his back. Mf TOWERS over him like how COLE AND ZANE DO.

He’s thankful everyday that Kai is only like a bit taller than Nya or he’d throw a fit every time they argued and Kai called him shortie whilst only being a head taller than him.

He fears the day Lloyd shoots up due to his own freaky genes.

(Jay has gotten into the habit of wearing platform shoes, all the ninja laugh at him for it but he has successfully intimidated them into not telling anyone.)

The Fiend and the Feline

I just got this absolutely exquisite piece of art as a commission from the talented Martyna Szpil aka. KajuArt.

The feline in question is my own beloved sphynx cat, Ruby, whom I adore. This piece is very special to me, as it captures two things that make my heart very happy.

Ruby's also immortalized in my game, via a mod made by the incredibly talented @indoctrinasian

I spend most of my time making her run around Raphael's legs. He doesn't mind.

hearing about gale from tara is always such a treat because she's known him for so, so long, ever since he was just a boy and has watched him grow into who he is now:

Player: Excruciatingly awkward. On my side, at least. Tara the Tressym: Don't be too hard on yourself, sir. You've been like that all your life.

Player: It's very unsettling how you can tell what I've been up to just by looking at me... Tara the Tressym: Tressyms are exceptionally intuitive. And also, you wear your emotions like a very garish cravat.

Tara the Tressym: If that's all, then what comes after is for you to decide, Mr Dekarios. Think well on all that's happened, and stay true to that heart of yours. It's a good one.

she's absolutely not averse to teasing him. however, it's never cruel and always light-hearted, just like she's not afraid to call him out on evading questions or making him reflect on the choices he takes if she does disagree with him. it really speaks of how long they have been at each other's side.

Tara the Tressym: Mr Dekarios. Gale. You are the finest mind - the finest wizard - I have ever had the pleasure to know. If anyone can beat this thing, it is you. When you tried to control the Weave - when it all went, pardon my language, belly up - I was terrified. Scared you'd be hurt. Scared Mystra would punish you for your transgression. But do you know what never crossed my mind? That you wouldn't figure a way out of it. My clever friend never leaves a knot knotted. This parasite is one more knot, so get to tugging threads. And - Mr Dekarios - please. The beard. I'd cut it down myself if I could hold a razor.

so from tara's pov, gale's always been awkward and obvious with his emotions.

she's convinced he has a genuinely good heart, one that she hopes he'll stay true to.

tara thinks he's wise, and growing wiser (condition: gale rejects to take the crown for himself).

she also thinks he's clever and brilliant.

I’ve seen a few too many people say Robert Jordan can’t write women. On the surface, it would seem like that, what with all of the mentions of their boobs and the constant men vs women nonsense going on. I understand how people would get that impression

But he actually CAN write women, and compared to other classic male fantasy authors, he writes them VERY WELL. The average women in WoT has equal power to the average man: women own businesses, give orders, rule countries, pursue men they like, and some people even think the Aes Sedai secretly puppet the world. That theory isn’t scary because they’re women, it’s scary because they’re magical. The only thing that would prevent a woman from doing certain things are rank and societal roles, which would equally prevent men from doing certain other things. For example, women are not expected to join armies (the Aiel are seen as strange for letting women fight) however all of Andor would riot if it had a king because “we’ve always had a queen! We’re Andor!” While there’s still a gender divide, it’s not inequality, it’s just the world’s societal expectations (which vary depending on where you are). Rand and Tam are never mocked for doing “women’s work” just because Kari is dead, it’s just a part of their life since she’s not around to do the “female housework” and they don’t have an issue changing things to accommodate their situation.

Another thing is that women aren’t shamed for their sexualities in this world unless they’re being socially inappropriate (like feeling someone up in the middle of a market) making someone uncomfortable with it (like not taking “no” for an answer). Otherwise, you get a few comments from the men along the lines of “aren’t I supposed to be chasing you?” but it’s not seen as crazy that a woman would do that or even want to do that; it’s just a little role reversal that takes the men by surprise. In fact, Faile does this often with Perrin once they’re married, she makes comments about how excited she is to fuck him and the only reason she’s stopped from saying that is if they get interrupted or if it’s the wrong time. Otherwise, his response is “good idea, let’s go.”

HOWEVER, all of RJ’s characters (the men too) are steeped in several hundred levels of kindergarten level men vs women gender bullshit to the point where it SOUNDS like traditional misogyny, but in reality it’s not. Everyone is equally annoying about gender stuff. They’re all humans, no one dimensional feminine objects here. They’re just very loud about the world’s gender divide
