Why are all the Lucifer x reader fics about Lucifer being overworked and busy and that's the cause of his stress/tiredness? That man has not done a single royal duty in years. His office is cluttered with ducks and he's a scatter brained mess at least at the moment. I need more fics where the reader sees the state of his office and goes "oh... my god, he's really going through it". Where's the acknowledgement of his depression? I'm gonna write it myself if I have to damn it.

also veritas and i are on a first name basis now partially because his last name is fucking stupid and i hate calling him "ratio" but mostly because after poking at his character a bunch i've decided i like him quite a lot LMFAO
#tch... bastard. grew on me.#it was realizing nous ignores him because he has too many ties to humanity that he's not willing to let go of for the pursuit of Knowledge#he loves people too much. he cares too much about the development and well-being of humans#shit like what chadwick did? building that weapon that would completely wipe out DOZENS of planets and he KNEW it would?#but choosing to continue building it in pursuit of knowledge and his own selfish ambitions and curiosities?#veritas would have quit. violently.#i think somewhere in his character stories it implies he did attempt to set aside his morals to do something similar but it's just like.#such an intrinsic part of who he is. no matter what he tries his love and care and passion hold him back in nous' eyes#so they continue to ignore him.#isn't it better to be ordinary anyway... you lose something important in the process of becoming extraordinary don't you?#i think he's come to this << realization since giving up on drawing nous' gaze and he's more at peace with the whole thing#he's a jerk but at the same time. not really? idk#very intriguing guy. also there's a certain gap moe that appeals to me too#via the rubber ducks and the surprisingly Very silly poses he carves his sculptures in#the latter speaks to like... a playfulness and a sense of humor. that he's never gotten the chance to really indulge in#just as a result of how much everyone expects from him and what he now expects from himself. no time for play... :(

Charles Goodyear (December 29, 1800 – July 1, 1860)
An American chemist and engineer, Charles Goodyear is most well known for his development of vulcanized rubber. Natural rubber is a soft material, and vulcanization stabilized and hardened the material, allowing it to be adopted for a variety of applications. However, although he patented the process in the 1840s, Goodyear never truly profited from his work. He died in debt in 1860, and it was only after his death that his family began to receive significant royalties. Notably, the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has no association with Charles Goodyear or his family beyond being named in his honor when it was founded nearly 40 years later.

little soup cans are some of the neatest things we have, wish there were more soup-can-like things in this world
#just me hi#though canopeners need to stop being deadly weapons to some degree before that hfhs#'they're not deadly tho ?' well usually yes. but did you know that they can age Badly? i did not!#and the one I was using was dulled to an extent that it would Skip over a part of the can#(nearly the same spot every time lol) and when I thought I'd managed to fool it and had only#the tiniest bit of metal between me and some beans (pretty sure it was beans) I thought#'ohh I'll just pull up the can lid :)' Well the lid snapped off completely towards and Into my hand#and I had a bean-can wound on my pinky for about a week or so. I do not know how long it's been lol#//but soup cans are pretty cool I feel like they're kinda underappreciated !!#you can just have Soup ? Whenever ??? and it's Normal !! wow :D#sure making soup is pretty great. but that's a process man. and we're not even associates#[<- 'a process I am (not) intimate with']#like there is a little can of menudo in the pantry rn - medunito they call it isn't that just !! - and it's just there. it can be made in#like 10 minutes. is this Not the best thing ever ! ?#//I've also gotta figure out this sleeping thing that I've got going on (everybody has it going on)#I was maybe half a week into actually have a consistent thing going but the night I stopped was bc I am a sucker of a storyteller and we#were up til about. I think 4-6 a.m.#that's on me yes. my siblings vs. my desire to tell stories and rubber willpower hfbdh#a deadly match truly#and also I lost my snoopy watch (RIP snoopy watch you will be missed (I can't find it send help Waough)) and that was the only clock I had#in this room so now if I wanna know the time I have to go the living room - which is like a whole dang thing lemme tell you about it#/first I've gotta get up - easiest thing by far - and get to the door - assuming I don't get KO'd by my siblings' belongings on the floor -#get to the door. the door Is broken to some extent. opening it means a loud THDPD noise is sent throughout the entire house lol. and you#have to yank on the thing to get it open - so double effort there - and then you step out into the hallwayish area where you can then enter#the living room - oh so easy! but No! you then have to either turn on the kitchen lights and wake everyone with their door open or sleeping#in the living room for whatever reason Orrr you have to clamber over chairs pots perhaps a cat if you've got real bad luck that night to ge#up nice n personal to the clock so you can read the dang thing and see it's 11:23. which is like nothing so you stay up Anyway and do not#check the clock again because not only was that a hassle but also you released every creature that was in the room with you (that's a lot o#noise). but Yea the clock situation is ongoing hfbsh#'why don't you get a clock' that would be much too easy loll :) (last one disappeared and we keep forgetting lol) //ran out of tag space so

no joke i think deep frying my hand has reaffirmed my positivity for being alive. i was so stressed out in the days leading up to it, and all that stress really dissipated when i had to go to the ER. i remember thinking to myself like, maybe life is okay & i like living, actually. the next morning i got prescribed gel hrt, that weekend i went to an anime convention and was surrounded by my closest friends, and now as my burnt flesh peels itself from my body to make way for new skin i am now 7 days on t
so
idk
im sure theres a poem in there somewhere
#it hurt like hell but honestly i thought it was funny even as i was actively in shock at the er#AND my roommate bought me taco time. so. yknow. lol#the pain was so fascinating to me. i know im a horror novelist and a goth or whatever but genuinely it was fascinating#i also reaffirmed that i am way way way too good at hiding pain for my own safety but luckily i live with people who love me#i remember describing the pain as if my hand were a sheet being fed through fast spinning rubber wheels on some form of mechanism#like i was being driven over or something... a simultaneous squashing and ripping feeling#ive had to keep it bandaged but i change it out every night and at every stage of the process my flesh has looked incredible#the biggest downside for me is honestly just that cleaning is difficult or inadvisable for me until it heals#bc i dont wanna get chemicals in the damaged sjij#skin*#talkin

oh anyway now that i finished the oc poll i totally gotta finish up drawing them in some different outfits bc it will be epic. im working on their autumn/winter designs rn i have 4/5 done BUT i wanna do a bunch of different stuff so it may take me longer than i think lol
#you guys can ignore all this btw this is just me using tumblr as a Rubber Duck to clear up my thought process#i might change up some stuff abt the autumn/winter outfits still#trying to strike a balance between. same but different to their spring/summer looks#like a lot of the hair is the same but slightly longer or more down. and most of them get jackets now. or longer jackets#polaris is the only one that doesnt. i want her to look the least dressed for the cold#bella im having a hard time balancing colors with rn she might be the only one who gets a different color in her outfit#mira i havent started on yet but i already have an idea of what im going to do w her#i always want her to have a cold-shoulder look so thatll stay no matter what lol#al im almost afraid looks TOO casual i feel like i gotta add something to him but idk what#like hes supposed to look casual. but like. the kinda causal where hes trying too hard to look casual. does that make sense?#and saiph. longer jacket means more insufferable hotrods#but his shirt is the same color as his pants still and now that its not a crop top i gotta like#make it clear that its not a jumpsuit. i did find a solution to this however it might be a little too.#whatever its also the opposite of polaris in a way so it works. fire and ice opposites and all

so yesterday i was teaching the kids how to make catapults, something i myself had learned about an hour and a half earlier, and the difference in approaches was really striking. i had one kid that came in late, and decided i was taking too long to get to her so she looked at what i had done on the model and whipped one out while i wasn't looking, and i had another, same age, who kept saying he was bad at things like this and couldn't do it, and when i pointed out he HAD made the simpler one, he demurred, he protested, he was so certain of his own incompetence. i try really hard to reinforce that it's okay to make mistakes and that they're inevitable when doing new things, and some kids are way more receptive to that than others.
i don't know, i was just really struck at how much the 9 and 10 year olds were struggling with 3D visualization and fine motor skills. the younger kids obviously were, too, but they didn't want to make the second design, they just wanted to launch candy with the first design lol
#i didn't think using a rubber band would be the most challenging part of the design process!#they really liked my stories about my dad making me help him make rockets and robots and models at their age#so i think i need to have a rocket program next summer#maybe a model making club?#the amount of programs i want to do is not at all commensurate with the amount of time i have in which to do programs
