The automatic answer on his lips is held back. Rip's not sure why Sara's asking it - the woman does nothing idly or without reason, even if she pretends to not be invested in his answer. But he knows what he thinks. Soulmates, he thinks, are not born but made. He and Miranda had been soulmates because they had worked for it. He'd lost a part of himself with her, but he still went on because he wasn't half of a whole, he was just a new version of himself.

And this version of himself feels a kindred spirit in Sara. Sees something in their partnership that could become. But he can't say that, can't scare away that fledgling hope. He wants to hold it, to nurture it and see if Sara feels the way. But saying it out loud, the way he's starting to feel about her, is too much, too soon. Instead, he gives her a simple, "Yes. FAVORITE THING ABOUT MY MUSE: I like how chill she is and how easy it is to throw her into situations. Feels a lot less restrictive than, say, Lusamine.

HOW YOU LIKE TO RP: I'm not the beeest at plotting but I do at least need a base to work off of. I need to know that our muses will be compatible in some way (even if ESPECIALLY IF it's toxic or antagonistic), and we need a foundation for how a thread between us will start. I don't work well with vague prompts and I always need something to work off of, so to prevent this problem, talking OOC is very much needed to some extent. I'm fine with both silly one-liners and multi-para threads! Whichever fits the mood.

FAVORITE PLOTS: Like, here? Of all time? I haven't had too much going on with Sharlene yet but I would Love a thread where she talks gender with someone.

WHERE YOU GET YOUR INSPIRATION FROM: I have no earthly idea if I'm being totally honest. Shit just pops into my head and I'm like "Yeah that's good shit" LMAO. I've probably drawn inspiration from other RPers and various media, I just can't name any off the top of my head.

FACT ABOUT YOU:⠀Sharlene is my first fandom OC since I was a kid. Back then I had a self-insert trainer name Sara (based off my character from Sapphire) who was unreasonably strong, she was the Hoenn champion and defeated anyone that stood in her way. Sara had a love interest by the name of David. He kinda looked like Lance, in my head. I don't remember anything else about them but they lived rent fuckin free in my head from ages 8-11.

Downplaying the fact that his mother had actually screamed when he told her he was bringing someone--”no, mother, not Seoras! how many times am I gonna remind you we’re just work friends?!”--home for the holiday was... difficult. And he had no ability to really keep his mother from crushing Sara’s bones as they neared the family home.

He shouldn’t have done this. That was the only lesson Lukas had taken out of the whole experience. But no matter how times he checked his work phone, Torchwood was, apparently, blissfully alien-free this year. Fucking aliens, he asked for one cosmic favor...

         “So tonight’s at this place, then we drive up to Hammarstrand tomorrow. A few days without the madness, Christmas Eve dinner, then Christmas Day. You, uh, you brought that translator pill thing, didn’t you? Because I think only Anna speaks a lick of English...”
