How does Noctil Royalty Accounting for Music Work?
What is royalty accounting?
Royalty accounting in the music industry is the process of calculating and distributing royalties to various right holders, such as songwriters, composers, performers, and record labels, based on the use of music.
What does it include?
It involves reporting the music usage, calculating royalties as per the rules, and ensuring that that the respective parties (e.g., songwriters, publishers) receive their fair share of earnings.
Here's an overview of how royalty accounting for music works:
Rights and ownership:
Metadata accuracy: Maintaining accurate metadata for music compositions and sound recordings is crucial. This includes information about songwriters, composers, performers, album details, and ownership.
Copyright registration: Rights holders should ensure that their music is properly registered with relevant performing rights organizations (PROs) and other collecting societies to facilitate royalty collection.
Music usage reporting:
Efficient monitoring and data collection: Music usage is continuously monitored by various sources, including streaming services, radio stations, TV networks, and venues. These sources track when and where music is played or streamed. The playlist logs need to be collected regularly to update and maintain the master data.
Royalty calculation: below are some of the types of royalties that can be collected.
Performance royalties: Performing rights organizations collect fees from music users (e.g., broadcasters, venues) and calculate royalties based on various factors, including the frequency and reach of performances.
Mechanical Royalties: For physical and digital music sales, mechanical royalties are calculated based on sales and distribution. Streaming platforms also pay mechanical royalties based on the number of streams.
Synchronization (Sync) Royalties: Sync royalties are calculated based on licensing agreements for music used in visual media, such as film, TV, commercials, and video games.
Streaming Royalties: These royalties are based on revenue sharing agreements between streaming platforms and right holders, with rates typically determined by negotiations or statutory rates.
Once the royalties are collected, they need to be calculated based on contract agreements and rules by specific organizations regularly for making timely payment to artists.
Distribution of royalties:
Distribution by collecting societies: Performing rights organizations and collecting societies collect and distribute royalties to songwriters, composers, and publishers. These organizations often have distribution schedules and methods based on usage data.
Distribution by record labels: Record labels receive revenue from music sales and streaming platforms. They calculate and distribute royalties to recoding artists and producers based on contractual agreements.
Direct licensing: Some right holders, particularly independent artists, may directly license their music to users or platforms and handle their own royalty accounting and distribution.
Royalty statements and reporting:
Right holders receive royalty statements from PROs, record labels, and other entities detailing the amount earned and the sources of income.
Statements may include deductions for administrative fees, advances, and recoupable expenses (e.g., recording costs).
Royalty statements are typically provided on a regular basis, such as monthly, quarterly or semi-annually.
Auditing and dispute resolution:
Right holders have the right to file for an audit of the royalty calculations and reporting of music users, collecting societies, and record labels to ensure accuracy.
Disputes regarding royalty calculations or payments can be resolved through negotiation, mediation, or legal processes.

Idk where people have got the idea from that being at Balmoral in September is unusual and something to be talked, it's literally normal practice. We don't get to know about it doesn't mean it's not something that happens.
Not only is this the time that thanks to Queen Vicky, the Ghillies Ball is organized (we are atleast 95 percent sure that William attends those) but also, the monarchs usually tend to stay at Balmoral till mid-September too.
The Waleses have been photographed in the area before today in September and been papped.
This is Cat and Queen Liz on 10 September 2016 (left) and then Will & Cat on 11 September 2016 (right)

This is William on 14 September 2014
Tumblr media
William attended church with Liz on 16 September 2018 too.
Tumblr media
AND most importantly, William just had engagements in Aberdeen this week on Thursday. And I do think Catherine appearing with Chuck following her announcement makes sense.
So this appearance at Crathie Kirk is honestly nothing to think about AT ALL.

wait I'm sorry but I'm kinda new to this fandom and I still don't know all the lore and stuff, would you mind explaining about the noel signing their record deal and the 40 40 percent stuff
I saw your tags on it and i don't get it I'm so sorry😭
In late 1999, Alan McGee (the man who originally signed Oasis in 1993) left Creation Records and the label folded. Oasis proceeded to set up their own record label -- Big Brother Recordings. cough. (and the catalog number for each song starts with "RKID" but that's a different freakout altogether)
The original structure of Big Brother actually had Alan White with an equal share:
Tumblr media
Bonehead and Guigs left the band around this time, so I guess this was perhaps a bit of "batten down the hatches" move. White left the band in 2004 (and the label finally in 2006? wonder what happened there). For whatever reason, Gem and Andy were never brought on as directors, so when they split in 2009, Oasis material was controlled by Noel and Liam, 40% apiece with Marcus Russell and Alec McKinlay having 10% each for band management purposes.
This means that the permission of both brothers is needed for any new Oasis release, and that either brother can block the other. which both have done lol

Ok ngl the lack of understanding of the word "diversity" by the wheel of time casting director is starting to piss me off. It's actually important to mutliple plots that there are different ethnic groups that look different and are indentifiable by those looks.
Rant/criticism below the cut
Rand needed to stand out like a sore thumb in the first few episodes. Just like? Its a plot point that the two rivers is so inbred its one of the few places there hasnt been complete breeding out of channeling- so why the fuck is cenn buie white??? Why was there a random east asian extra?? Like im sorry all the two rivers folk should be played by austrialian aboriginal or black people like madeleine madden or zoë robbins because the PLOT POINT is that theyre inbred.
The fact that you have characters from the same ethnic group played by actors from different groups diminishes the importance of that ethnicity.
I think this bothers me so much because first of all, robert jordan clearly understood that ethnicity and ethnic groups matter. When in Dumai's wells they bring together the Aiel and Cairhien and Tairens and Two Rivers Folk, perrin comments that they cant tell the Aiel on their side apart from the shaido aiel. This, im willing to bet, mirror's Jordan's experience in Vietnam. He was white and ignorant and couldn't tell his south vietnamese allies from the north vietnamese enemies. Its an important acknowledgement that this shit happens in warfare. You need uniforms because in real life you can't always tell friends from enemies on sight.
Additionaly, as someone who isn't in the in-group it matters that I can recognize my people. Growing up in a realtively white blue collar area in the states I was always quizzed on my ethnicity (they could tell I wasnt white-like-them) and then when I entered spaces with my own people I could always find them and I didnt look different.
And this is something I've seen a lot in progressive spaces. People treat ethnicity as though it's something that is a shell- that beneath your different skin tone, were all the same! (White) this isn't just a wheel of time issue, but it's an excellent case study of casting a number of actors of color while erasing the actual diversity of the story.
EDIT: i had a note in here about alanna and leave being played by very different actors despite both being from Arad Doman. Turns out Alanna is Arafellen. Oops!

The island princess is like the only time i've enjoyed a plotline resembling a love triangle.
Like you have 2 characters with feelings for one another, but bc of the circumstances, feel like they can't be together/dont deserve each other, and the person who one of them has been told they should want to be with and is also trapped by the narrative is their no. 1 supporter, bc they know two pining idiots when they see them.
like ugh that's literally the best part of the movie for me so i dislike when people try to just make the island princess about tika hate

How does Royalty Accounting for Music Work?
Royalty accounting for music is a complex yet essential process that ensures musicians, songwriters, performers, and other right holders receive their fair share of earnings from music consumption. Here's an overview of how royalty accounting in the music industry works:
Revenue source: Music royalties come from multiple sources, including record sales, streaming, radio airplay, live performances, synchronization (use of music in TV, film, and ads), public performance (venues, radio, TV), and more.
Metadata management: Accurate metadata is crucial for royalty accounting. Metadata includes details about the music, such as song title, songwriter, performer, publisher, and ISRC (International Standard Recording Code), etc.
Contracts: Contracts define the terms of royalty distribution, specifying who gets what share of the revenue. Different stakeholders, such as songwriters, performers, record labels, and publishers, have their own terms and conditions.
Collection Societies and Performing Rights Organizations (PROs): Organizations like ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC handle the collection of performance royalties. They monitor public performances and broadcasts of music and distribute royalties to songwriters and publishers based on the music playlist logs they collect.
Mechanical Royalties: These royalties are paid for the reproduction and distribution of sound recordings and are typically administered by music publishers and record labels. For digital downloads and streaming, platforms pay mechanical royalties to rights holders.
Distribution reports: Based on sales and usage, the royalty accounting software generates usage reports. These reports detail how often a song was streamed or sold, which is essential for calculating royalties.
Revenue calculation: Royalty calculations depend on the type of income source and contractual agreements. Songwriters, for example, may receive a percentage of revenue, while performers may receive a fixed fee per sale or stream. These are done by the software.
Ownership verification: It's crucial to verify rights and ownership before distributing royalties. This involves checking contracts, ISRC codes, and proper attribution to ensure accurate payments.
Deduction calculations: In some cases, expenses or deductions may be made before distributing royalties. This can include recoupable advances, marketing expenses, and other costs incurred by record labels.
Royalty distributions: After revenue calculation and verification, royalties are distributed to the respective right holders. This can be done periodically, such as quarterly or annually, depending on the agreements.
Maintaining transparency: Right holders should receive detailed reports explaining how royalties were calculated and distributed, ensuring accountability and trust.
Noctil offers an all-in-one metadata management platform with great customer support for publishers, publishing admins, record labels, music rights societies, and distributors.

Can everyone for the love of God stop actively posting the Wales' private pics on their accounts for likes? Why tf is everyone still doing this? Putting the 'I'm sorry I don't usually post private pics' bs doesn't absolve you from using private moments from their time for more Internet clout. I've been off social media in general these past 2-3 days because of work, and I had thought that by now, people would have stopped with this. But ofc there's still accounts posting new pics with the post I just saw having been made "13 hours ago."
I don't know how many times this needs but this is a clear violation of their privacy and yes it does make you a fucking weirdo for going out of your way to seek out private photos of a family and their children. Please stop.
It's so hypocritical that the same people who were rightfully calling out the paps last year for harassing catherine during her recovery and for publishing those long range photos all those years ago are now doing the same thing.
And if you were actually the fans of W&C and cared about them, you would stay away from putting out private pics of their children, the same kids who they've tried so hard to keep out of the media circus and public spotlight.
If you want to post pics, use the ones that are authorised or from official/public events that the kids go to with their parents because W&C organize attendance to those events knowing that the children will be photographed. Attendance to events like the one at the match this week with are made with that expectation only. There's a reason that happens, and that is to keep their privacy intact and to make sure people don't just go around following them as they did william when he was a child or sharing the private pics like the ones from their holiday.
Those are the photos to be shared not while they take time off as a family away from everything.
