To add on to my last ask about the celebrating the holiday for the sake of Feyds new wife:
LIKE SHE MAKES FEYD A FLOWER CROWN AND HE WEARS IT
Like from the âfriendship braceletâ dialogue from bobs burgers
Wife: :)I made you a flower crown!:)
Feyd: *thinly veiled annoyance and disapproval*
Wife: :( you donât have to wear it if you donât want to :(
Feyd: No, Iâm gonna wear it. Forever. Back off.
Anniversary
Feyd-Rautha x wife!reader
Summary: Giedi Prime is different than your home planet. They donât celebrate the things you used to. So, you show your husband one of your traditions to mark the first year of your marriage.Â
Notes/Warnings: none, i think. It's just a cute fluffy thing.
Words: 1050

You once wouldâve bet everything you had that you would never fall in love with him; from every coin to your familyâs name, to every extravagant gown you owned, to every jewel that adorned your neck. When you walked down the aisle, you saw something vile waiting for you at the other end, not the husband you would come to have. You saw a snake to match the name of Harkonnen, and the prospect of a future together made your stomach turn. Until you became his wife.Â
What you expected in the form of threatening words and a knife to the throat on your wedding night didnât come. He left you alone when you told him that was what you wanted. In fact, he left you alone in every aspect of your relationship until you were ready to come to him.Â
That moment came three months later. For those three months, he made sure you were comfortable, as happy as you could be, well-taken care of, and he didnât once force his presence upon you. From that, you opened yourself to him and, in a quick decision one night, dressed yourself up, went to his room, and let him take you.Â
Youâve been inseparable ever since, unwilling to leave his side and vice versa, even when heâs needed elsewhere. He takes you with him to his meetings, his executions, Arrakis. Youâre his wife, in all senses of the title. And as more time has passed, youâve adjusted to being a Harkonnen wife; everything it means, down to the things you gain and the losses you face.Â
The most difficult of losses have been the traditions you grew up with. You donât see your family anymoreâas enemies of Giedi Prime, they arenât exactly welcome on the planetâand so the values your House believes and partakes in have disappeared from your life. Holidays celebrated on your home planet do not exist on Giedi Prime. Religion is not the same. Your people bow to a Goddess. Harkonnens bow to Harkonnens. Your people bask in the changes of the seasons. Giedi Prime doesnât experience those same seasons due to the lack of rotation around their sun. Celebrations do not exist for anything other than war victories and birthdays. But most painful are the anniversaries that go entirely unacknowledged.Â
At home, anniversaries are one of the grandest events. Another year of love, of shared life. Each year, you watched your parents grow giddy as their anniversary neared, and you witnessed the people of your planet rejoice for them as if it were their own milestone of marriage.Â
Giedi Primeâthe Harkonnensâdo not care for that. Something to do with wives not lasting very long in their House. History states youâre one of few who has made it to a year of marriage with a Harkonnen, as most women, unless pregnant with an heir, have offended their spouse in some manner and so have received that dreaded knife to the throat.Â
Youâre lucky there, you suppose, but it doesnât make you miss the things you can no longer have any less. And Feyd has noticed.
âTell me what is wrong,â he says to you as he sits beside you on your bed.Â
You hesitate, fearing laughter and jokes about how ridiculous your upbringing wasâit wouldnât be the first timeâbut when you explain further, heâs much more receptive than you imagined.
âA celebration of love?â he asks. His brow raises, but he doesnât scoff.Â
âYes,â you say. âBack home, couples do not have to stay together. If they are unhappy, they separateââ His head jerks and he makes a displeased face. âStaying together, continuing to be in love with each year that goes by, is considered an achievement. Something worthy of praise and pride.â
âAnd you want thisâŚpraise?â He doesnât understand. Praise is harder earned in his world. Praise comes when pain is inflicted. âHow do you receive praise for love?â
âPeople have partiesââ
âWe cannot have a party for this.â
You take his hand in your lap. âNo, I know,â you say. âBut thereâs also gifts.â
He shakes his head. âNo one willââ
âBetween us,â you stop him. âWe give each other a present as a symbol of the strength of our love.â
He thinks on your words for a few moments, slightly staring off into space, until he says, âLike what?â
âWellâŚâ Taking your hand back, you reach into your nightstand drawer and pull out a small box. âSomething like this.â You peel back the lid of the box to reveal a black band with a ring of silver running through the middle. âI had this made.â
âA ring?â
As you nod, you set the small box down between you. âItâs a wedding ring. I know you donât exchange those on your wedding day here, but back home, when you say vows, each person puts their ring on the otherâs finger. This one right here,â you say, tapping the correct finger on your hand. âItâs a kind of ownership that you show to the world. Youâre telling everyone that youâre taken by someone who loves you.â
Feyd swallows, his eyes flicking back and forth between yours and the ring. âPeople know you belong to someone else if you wear this on your planet?â
âYes. And seeing as you belong to me, I thoughtâŚâ you pause, realizing he might hate the idea. What if it bothers him? What if the light weight throws off his knife skills? What if it gets in the way of his armor? You didnât think about these problems until now when heâs blankly staring at the damn thing.Â
Feyd plucks the ring from the box and puts it up to the light. âThey all look like this?â
âTheyâre all different,â you tell him. âIf you donât want to wear itââ
He slips it onto the correct finger. âIâm never taking it off.â
âWhââ Your eyes blow wide. âReally?â
âNever,â he says, still staring at the onyx circle around his finger. âEven my enemies will know Iâm taken.â You sigh. A chuckle of relief leaves your throat, and he turns his gaze to you. âIâll make one for you.â
âOh! But you donât have to just because I did.â
His features twist in disapproval. âYou belong to me as much as I belong to you, do you not?â
âYes.â
âThen you will wear one as well. Silver,â he says. His hand raises to cup your cheek. His thumb brushes over your cheekbone. The ring is cold against your skin. âWith black diamonds.â
âYou want to match?â
âYes.â

"The little one is asleep," Comet said as he reentered the living room.
"Good," Wolffe said. His head was leaned back against the couch, his eyes closed, and his arms crossed. "She needs it."
"So do you," Sinker added with a pointed look towards Wolffe.
Wolffe groaned. "I need to pack."
"We can help with that," Boost offered.
"No," Wolffe said. He leaned forward and rubbed his eyes. "I can do it."
"Do you want us to leave?" Comet asked.
Wolffe pushed himself off the couch and stared blankly towards his bedroom. "NoâŚ" he murmured with a shake of his head. "Stay. Just for a little while longer."
"Whatever you need, Commander," Sinker said.
Wolffe walked towards his bedroom with heavy footsteps. The weight of what he needed to do, picking and choosing pieces of his wife, what to keep and what to let go of, surrounded him like a thick cloud. Its presence threatened to suffocate him. The room was dark, empty, and lifeless, feeling claustrophobic and cold without the warmth of his wife. Everything was how it should be. The bed was immaculate, the floor was clean, the clothes were put away, but in his heart he only felt chaos.
He sat down on his side of the bed, the mattress sinking in under his weight, and looked over at the holo-photo album perched on the bedside table. It slowly rotated through images of their life together. A nervous first date, a botched marriage proposal, a beautiful unofficial wedding, an unexpected baby bump, the birth he missed, a first birthday, an anniversary alone, and so many more memories. He missed a lot of them because of the War, but nonetheless, each memory was priceless and precious to him.
He picked up the album and ran his fingers across the image of his wife smiling next to his daughter on her third birthday; one they celebrated without him. He smiled at the memory. Cara had cake all over her face. Then the image switched, and Wolffe's breath hitched. For a moment, he thought he lost her again, but it was just an image of him holding Cara, one that his wife took, and he realized that was how all of their pictures would look going forward. She'd never be in one ever again.
Wolffe placed the album down, flopped back onto the bed, and rested his arm over his eyes. He wanted to feel something other than sadness, anything, but he couldn't find any other emotion. His usual stoic, no-nonsense demeanor had left him too. He gripped the blanket with his other hand, but he couldn't feel its softness. He was numb. He needed to pack, but he couldn't move. He was paralyzed. How easy would it have been to just slip away and never feel anything ever again? Hadn't he lost enough already?
Was there an allotment in life of pain and suffering, and he accidently received a double portion? Was it not enough to lose his battalion, his marshal rank, and his eye? Did he have to lose his wife too? What else could this life possibly take from him? His daughter? He'd rather die. He'd rather be blown up, crushed, sliced in half, suffocated, burned, or stabbed to death than lose one more thing he held precious. The universe could take him, but it couldn't take his daughter.
Wolffe groaned and rolled onto his side. He stared at his wife's side of the bed and slowly smoothed his hand over the empty surface. He could almost feel her lying there if he closed his eyes, and he wondered if he'd forget someday. Would he forget what she felt like? Her smell? Her voice? Her infectious laugh? His name on her lips? Would he forget⌠her? Maker, he prayed he would never forget. He couldn't. He wouldn't. She was his beloved, and he was hers. Death couldn't keep him from loving her.
Wolffe shimmied over to his wife's side of the bed and buried his face into her pillow, inhaling her scent deeply and committing it to memory. He made a quick mental list of everything he wanted to pack and take with him. Her pillow, her favorite top, her favorite perfume, her favorite soap, her favorite holo-book. He wished he could pack it all up in a small box and carry it with him everywhere he went, but he couldn't. He'd just have to take those little pieces of his wife and try not to forget.
Although, there was a part of him that still thought she'd come home. That she was just out having fun with her friends and would be back late. That she'd come to bed and curl up next to him like she always did when he was home. Then there was the part of him that replayed her dying gasps of breath. Reminding him that her body went limp in his arms and she was never coming back. A ruthless and cruel tug of war in his mind. A part clinging to a false hope and a part crushing him under the weight of despair.
The despair won the war and Wolffe choked out a sob. He let his emotions roar to the surface, breaking the dam of his engineered resilience, and he cried. It was too much. He wasn't made to love and he wasn't made to lose love. This wasn't supposed to happen. She wasn't supposed to die first. It was unfair. It was inhumane. It was cruel. He didn't care what force power or force deity his general believed in. No moral platitude could justify the death of innocence, let alone his own wife.
"Commander?" Sinker whispered from where he peeked in at the bedroom doorway.
Wolffe didn't move or stifle his mournful cries. He didn't care if his brothers saw him like this. He thought he could do it. He thought he could sneak away, suffer in silence, and ride out the grief alone, but the weight was too heavy. He was buckling beneath the pressure and knew he wouldn't make it if he only relied on himself. To be strong in front of his daughter was one thing, but his Pack brothers? They were strong and steady. He knew he could break in front of them and be safe.
With no confirmation or denial otherwise, Sinker stepped into the room and sat down next to where Wolffe was lying on the bed. He hesitated, but placed a firm hand on Wolffe's shoulder.
"Wolffe," he said softly. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry."
Wolffe said nothing, but slowly picked himself up and leaned heavily against Sinker as he wiped his eyes.
"The boys and I were thinking," Sinker began. "Maybe we could stay the night? To keep you company?"
Wolffe looked up at Sinker through blurry vision. He wished the tears would stop flowing, but they didn't. Every time he remembered his wife wasn't coming home, new tears formed where the previous fell. It was a continuous cycle that he never experienced before and he hated experiencing now. He had slept alone countless times on missions, but he never slept alone in this bed, without her. She was always there. It felt wrong to sleep in it without her. He didn't want to sleep in it alone.
"IâŚ" Wolffe began with a hoarse voice. "I'd like that."
Sinker pulled Wolffe's forehead against his own and closed his eyes. "We've got you, vod."
Wolffe melted into the simple gesture, breath still shaking from his sobs. "Thank you."
Sinker gave Wolffe's shoulder a reassuring squeeze, then got up from the bed to go grab the others from the living room. Wolffe sat still at the edge of the bed, but slowly let himself drift back down to rest his head against the pillow. His Pack brothers quietly entered the bedroom and each found a spot on the bed to lie down, being careful not to disturb him. It wasn't a very large bed so a little overlap was needed, and there were some tangled limbs, but everyone eventually settled in.
It had been a while since the Pack piled in such a way to sleep. The last time Wolffe piled was probably before the Malevolence. Same for Sinker and Boost, and most likely never for Comet since he was part of the newly formed battalion. Wolffe refused piles after the Malevolence because he was afraid of getting attached to his men again, but in the end, it didn't matter. He didn't lose any of his men. He lost his wife. Maybe Jedi were right and attachments were a waste.

It's the Thought that Counts
Itâs my birthday and I thought what better way to celebrate than a small fic with Fives! (Apologies in advance, this isnât proof read. Also! I'm v new to this and currently working on making a masterlist so pls bear with me lol)
Summary: Fives takes on the brutal task of trying to cook pancakesÂ
Tags: surprises gone wrong, fluff, minor burns, many kisses, suggestive but nothing nsfw
Word Count: 1.2k
For once, you take your time waking up. Thereâs no need to rush, no battle you need to hurry off to (both literally and metaphorically). Right now, thereâs only one thing you need to do and thatâs relax.Â
As your eyes flutter open, youâre greeted by a gentle stream of the morning sun flowing in through the window. Although you have yet to check your clock, it feels too early to get up.
Shutting your eyes, you nuzzle into your pillow, stretching your arms across the soft bed sheets. You mindlessly search for your best source of warmth, assuming heâd still be fast asleep next to you.Â
Even though Fives is used to getting up at the break of dawn most rotations, he tends to sleep-in whenever he gets the opportunity, which is usually when he stays over at your place, preferring to relish in your softness than get out of bed.Â
But today is different. Running your hand along the bed, you find no one there. Maybe itâs later than you thought. You know Fives could only stay for a while, needing to get back to base at some point in the morning. Maybe he didnât want to disturb your sleep and quietly left. A disappointed sigh falls from your lips, already missing his company and yearning for his touch.Â
You want to bury your face in your pillow, not ready to deal with the day⌠but then it hits you, a smell finally reaching your nose and making you instinctively scrunch up your face. Itâs an intense burning smell, causing your body to wake up immediately as panic surges through you. Any hope of falling back to sleep quickly fades away as you go on high alert.Â
Jumping out of your bed, you donât waste any time in putting on some actual clothes, stumbling across the room and down the hall in nothing but your underwear and a loose fitted t-shirt you carelessly threw on the night before.
Endless possibilities race through your mind. Did Fives decide to make himself a quick breakfast but forget to turn off the stove? Did you leave it on yesterday? Oh kriff, has the stove been on all night? Expecting to see a blazing fire, you crash into the room.Â
Standing in the middle of the kitchen, Fives mutters a curse under his breath as he runs one of his fingers under water. Beside him, what looks like a charred pancake is stiffly poking out the top of a pan. A light haze of smoke envelops the kitchen, slowly drifting up towards the ceiling.
âFives?â the words stumble out of your mouth, a mix of confusion and shock taking over.
Glancing behind his shoulder at you, Fives flashes you a forced smile. âYouâre up!â he exclaims, gritting his teeth together âGreat timingâ.
Pulling your attention away from the cremated pancake and cloud of smoke, you focus on him. âWhat happened? Is your finger ok? You move deeper into the room, rushing to his side.
Without thinking, you take his hand in yours, the cool water running over your skin as you pull his finger closer to you. Fives sharply inhales as you remove his hand from the water, his finger beginning to throb again.Â
âIt looks worse than it isâ he tries to assure you, though the bright red mark along his finger tells you differently.Â
âAre you ok?â you know itâs a dumb question but you ask it anyway, worry gnawing at your stomach..
Fives nods his head, shrugging off the injury âI am, itâs just a small burn, nothing to worry aboutâ.
âI think I have some small bacta patches around here somewhere,â you think aloud, tentatively holding his hand in yours and inspecting his burn âhmm, it doesn't look like a third degree burn, it should heal in a few days if you donât overwork yourselfâ.
Thankfully it isnât a serious injury but it's definitely enough to give you a fright. Beginning to relax, Fives jokes âIf you think this looks bad, you should see the other guyâ.
Looking up at him, you raise an eyebrow âAnd the other guy is⌠a pancake?â.
He sighs at the reminder of the food, a look of defeat crossing your loverâs face. âI wanted to surprise you before I left,â he explains âand I thought it would be easy to make but I think the pancakeâs won this roundâ.Â
Letting his hand fall gently from your grasp and to his side, you bring both of your hands up to cup his face. âAnd it is a surprise â a good one!â you quickly add that last part, wanting to reassure Fives in any way possible.Â
A small smile tugs at his lips but Fives glances over at his horrible attempt of a pancake and disappointment clouds his face once more. âHey,â you say softly, quickly pressing your lips to his before pulling away to look at him again âitâs the thought that countsâ.
You can see the love in his eyes, his adoration for both you and the endless amount of patience you have with him. Pulling you close, Fives wraps his arms around your waist and gives you a small peck on the lips before trailing kisses along your face and up to your ear.Â
You giggle at the sensation, letting out a soft moan when he nips at your ear. âYou sure you donât want to try it anyways?â he asks, removing one of his arms from you and picking up the pan. You get a waft of the burnt food as Fives brings the pan closer, inspecting the catastrophe he somehow created.
âI mean, it might be edible,â he doesnât sound very convincing âmaybe itâs just well doneâ. With your arms around him, you bury your head in by his chest and laugh. âYeah why donât you bring it with you? Iâm sure the General would love to have it for lunchâ you call his bluff.
Fives rolls his eyes âPretty sure theyâd court martial me if I did⌠or theyâd at least put me on sanitation for a monthâ.
âAnd youâd be the hottest ARC Trooper on sanitationâ you say with a teasing smile, moving your head to peer up at him.
Fives chuckles, the vibrations warm against you. âI would be the only ARC Trooper on sanitationâ he corrects you.
Placing the pan back down, his stomach grumbles, reminding you of your own need for food. âYou want to try another round?â you ask, reluctantly pulling away from him and moving to the sloppy bowl of pancake batter on the kitchen counter.
You hear a low groan and Fives is quick to follow after you, his body pressing yours against the counter. Dropping his head to your shoulder, he kisses it before asking âHere or the bedroom?â.
Trying to contain a laugh, you clarify âI meant do you want to try another round of pancakesâ. You can feel his body slump âOhâ.
âButâŚâ you trail off just to tease him âif you donât burn the next batch of pancakes then maybe youâll get a rewardâ.Â
âOh!â He repeats but the quick change of tone as he practically stands to attention tells you exactly how he feels about this offer. âWell then I better get cooking,â although Fives pulls away from you, he keeps one hand on your body, gently holding you as he moves back to the stove âespecially since I suddenly got this new wave of motivationâ. He gives the plush of your hip a squeeze before letting go, shooting you a wink.Â
You roll your eyes but you canât hide the broad smile on your face âGet cooking, trooperâ.

A Piece of Cake - Ch. 1
"Step One: Panic"
Summary: The Bad Batch & Co. attempt to throw a surprise party for Omega. It should be a piece of cake, right? Only, they realize in order to have a party, you must have a cake, and in order to have a cake, you have to actually have the ingredients for it. Word Count: 4.6k Tags: Fix-It, Tech Lives, Post "Canon," Domestic Fluff
You would think that an elite squad such as Clone Force 99 with their years of experience on the battlefield would be good at planning ahead and being ready for the unknown, but that is far from the case.Â
Despite their skillsets, theyâve come to find that being a civilian is harder than it looks and the adjustment to that life hasn't been easy. But theyâre the Bad Batch - they live for the unpredictable and for the improv. They live for a challenge. Even if change is difficult and something thatâs hard to handle, over time theyâve managed to slowly adjust to their lives on Pabu. Some days were easier than others, a lot of their nights were rougher than most, but at the end of the day, their new lives were all they could ever hope for and more.Â
They could try their hand at ânormalâ things. They could be a ânormalâ family (thought they were far from it) and with that came the concept of birthdays.Â
Birthdays were always a particular thingâthey never really talked about it or bothered with them while in the GAR or even afterâbut once settling into Pabu and attending a few of them, Omega expressed a desire to have something special like a birthday.Â
And if Omega wanted something, her brothers were going to make sure she got it.Â
It was Wreckerâs idea, he brought it up one day on the beach to Hunter while Omega was out of earshot, playing in the waves with Batcher and Lyana. After having seen and heard Omegaâs subtle desires to have a birthday, Wrecker thought it would be nice to have something like that for her and Hunter immediately agreed to the idea.Â
From there they told Tech, who immediately went into looking through as many databanks he could to see if he could find any information about when Omega was âbirthedâ from her tube. Echo helped look too, but the pair found nothingâno record of anything that might give them an idea of what day it specifically was, much to their disappointment.Â
It was Crosshair who suggested to have the day be the day they met Omega. The day everything went to shit but paved the way to change their lives like none of them would have ever expected.Â
The day they formally met Omega was a day none of them would ever forget, despite everything that went wrong on that day, so they agreed to have the birthday on that date to celebrate her and the light she brought to their lives and to the galaxy itself.Â
Lucky for them, it was in a few rotations, so they planned for a big surprise party, making sure to keep it as much as a secret as possible (Wrecker almost let it slip a few times) from Omega to make it all the more special. They got their partners in on it as well and soon, they had a plan set for the day to make sure that things went as smoothly as possible.Â
Well, as smoothly as things could go for the Bad Batch.
âWhat do you mean we need eggs?âÂ

BG3 Backstory Bash by Kelandrin
I was tagged by @dutifullylazybread, thank you! Tagging @commander-krios and @charmedcleric, if you fancy it :)
This is a challenge to help people flesh out their Tavâs backstory by exploring their past. It is organized into four sections with seven prompts. You can treat this as a monthly challenge or a general project. You can write headcanons, fics, or share art based on the prompts! You can interpret the prompts however you want. If you want to share use the tag #bg3backstorybash
Ok, Iâm going to modify a whole bunch of this, if you want to do it properly probably look up the hashtag! Iâm doing it for *my* version of the Steel Weave/Sharp Teeth Tav, though since itâs written in 2nd person with only sparse details of her life, Iâm not calling it canon. Iâm also going to do what @dutifullylazybread did and add in my version of Rolan and Tavâs future together <3 This ended up way more in depth than I thought, and I loved doing it :)
Baby
Birth & Parents: born in her paternal grandparentâs run-down house in Baldurâs Gate, to military parents. Her parents quickly returned to military service to support the family and defend the Gate, and were both killed when she was an infant in the same skirmish, defending a village against Orcs. Tav grew up with the understanding that her parents died heroes, and with the love of her grandparents never felt too much like she was missing something. Her grandparents were bakers, and she first built her muscles kneading vast amounts of dough when she was helping out in the shop as a kid.
Childhood
Friends/Siblings: no siblings. She did have a rotating cast of friends, some for a long time, although as her grandparents aged she found herself taking on more and more of the shop duties and seeing less of others her age. Her best friend was from the Little Calim part of Baldurâs Gate, and left aged thirteen with their parents to return home. Tav would like to go there one day, having heard many tales of its mountains and deserts (and a delicious drink called âcoffeeâ from its furthest reaches, that has yet to be widely imported up to the Sword Coast). They fell out of touch because of the expense and difficulty of long-distance communication, but Tav hopes theyâre still out there somewhere, living well.
Birthday: Midwinter
Learning and Playing Games: Tav has always been very focused and determined about learning the things she cares about, whether that was the necessary reading and accounting skills to help her grandparents run the bakery, or the sword skills she began learning to follow in her parentsâ footsteps. Sheâs curious, but felt she had to learn things with purpose first. A lot of the games she played were very physical - tag, Owlbear and âFists vs Guildâ.
Trauma: as she grew up, she got into a fair number of physical scrapes, especially when practising duelling and her grandparents privately despaired of how costly it was - though they were anxious not to communicate that, because they loved her energetic nature (if not her desire to go into the military). Those scrapes though, rarely registered with Tav herself, and she prided herself a little too much on being able to ignore physical pain in a way that sometimes alienated other kids (something she learned not to be so annoying about as she got older). The old loss of her parents though, and the increased pressure to help out her aging grandparents and grow up too fast, did have their effect. A gradual squeezing out of childhood.
Youth
First Love Crush on another girl in sword fighting class; Tav asked her out for a celebration after they were ranked joint first together. It went well until it didnât; things fell apart in common teenage ways, when they forgot to notice each otherâs upsets in the mess of their own feelings. They broke up after a couple of months and Tav sulked (a lot) and the other girl cried (also a lot) and then that girl quit sword fighting and took up warhammer instead. Whoops.
Rebellion and Running Away Tav did not really rebel much; on the occasion she misbehaved, stayed out too late or didnât wake up for her morning shift at the bakery, she saw the disappointment and hurt of her grandparents, and felt terrible about it. They didnât feel fun to rebel against, because as she saw them aging it only worried her. The same goes for running away, though she did dream of travelling. To Calimshan, or perhaps Icewind Dale - it would be so fun to be an adventurer, and to strike out on her own, though it seems impossible. How do you even start? What if you make the wrong decision? She ends up defaulting back to the military.
Peer Pressure, Risk Taking and Responsibility If anything, Tav was a bit of an (unintentional) peer pressurer herself, with her active and rather physically-risk taking nature. Itâs something she learned to stop doing as she grew up, especially after she encouraged a friend to scale a tree with her after heâd already hurt his ankle and he fell and broke the other one too. After that, she got a lot more concerned about other peopleâs limitsâŚ. whilst still paying very little attention to her own. Her grandparents despaired of that, but they were deeply proud of her responsibility at home, even as she missed out on some more childish, fun things. Great at taking responsibility with adults, more likely to bicker with her peers. She was pretty resistant to peer pressure, as either she wanted to do something (drinking? Go on then) or not (stealing? sheâs simply not interested). Can be quite judgemental of others seemingly not caring about their parents/family because sheâs so concerned about her own. Cares a lot about doing good in the world, even as a teenager, because thatâs what her parents died for.
Growing Pains I feel like most of the above covers it! Tavâs not the most introspective person, and her concerns were largely outside her - though some things did slip through. Her main struggle is having no very close friends; she hasnât got a lot of time, and is a little bit singleminded about her military training.
Adulthood
Leaving Home Tav left home for the military barracks at 18, a hard decision knowing that her grandparents would have to sell their bakery without her. She sent her money home and visited them as often as she could - after all, they were all still in Baldurâs Gate - but they died quite soon after.
First Time Soon after moving into the military barracks. Technically not allowed but⌠theyâre all very physical people who spend a lot of time getting sweaty in each otherâs company. Tavâs not outrageous about expressing interest, but sheâs happy to ask someone for a drink and see what happens.
Serious Relationships The relatively fast turnover of the military - recruits who canât hack it, deaths at the front line, moving between posts or just to the Flaming Fist - means that sheâs mostly had casual relationships. And in all honesty, very few people have stirred her soul. Everything is fine, but it often feels like others in the military are content with their lot, and the way the world is, and without being able to express it Tav feels like something is missing.
Aging Oof, thinking about Tav and Rolan getting older makes me a little sad. I think they have long and happy lives together, despite many close scrapes, and Tav keeps fighting even as her joints begin to creak. Jaheira was still at it, so why shouldnât she? As for Rolanâs wizard magic⌠I donât think heâd want to live an artificially longer life without Tav and Cal and Lia to share it, especially knowing that wizards need people they love surrounding them whenever the temptations of power get too strong. Either he finds magic they can all share, or they make peace with mortality knowing that thereâs a place in Seluneâs realm for them in the afterlife. (Well, as much peace as Rolan is ever capable of. Heâd take Tavâs mortality as a personal affront, and his own as the deeply annoying but inevitable end to his glorious magical career).
Family Tav and Rolan have spent so many years of their lives being responsible for others, and for Tav, locked into the military as a default path without thinking enough about it. Both of them want to live life on their own terms, with their found family, and throw themselves into their work and passions rather than raising children. Theyâre often going off on adventures and discovering new things, and Rolan frequently works into the small hours on magic whilst Tav is out defeating mild zombie infestations or whatever is most recently plaguing Baldurâs Gate. But they do love Cal and Liaâs kids, and Tav considers Laeâzel, Astarion and Gale to be her extended family.
Work Tav was in the Baldurian Army, which I donât think exists in canon but it exists in my head as more of an outward-facing force, dealing with wars and invasions and marauding Gith/Orcs, vs the Flaming Fist which are more of a domestic force (and are canonically awful, letâs be real. Not that the military is likely to be much better but⌠everyone in Baldurâs Gate has had personal experience with the Flaming Fist being incompetent, corrupt and otherwise terrible. Tav wanted to be a hero, and the Fist are for beating up hungry commoners for stealing apples. Not her vibe.) Her job is fine, and she trains hard, but it leaves little room for thought or individuality and she finds herself feeling stuck. Especially as she realises thereâs a whole load of pointless skirmishes with neighbouring states over borders and trade, conflicts that only make ordinary peoplesâ lives worse. Sheâs risked her life many times for civilians and that has stopped her getting promoted.
Finding Her Place The tadpole completely changed Tavâs life. Before, sheâd have said that the military was her place - but she was never really anchored to it by more than rules and regs and a sense of duty. Now sheâs struck out on her own - with Rolan and her companions by her side - sheâs found sheâs a strong and capable leader, and prefers making her own decisions about right and wrong to having the military make them for her. And she found the kind of deep love and devotion that sheâs been lacking; a reason to live in every battle she fights. She would risk everything for Rolan, and he would risk everything for her, and then they will argue about it. Perhaps the arguing is something sheâd missed in her closest relationships, previously, like with her grandparents; each too worried about the other to risk bringing up things that bothered them. And most people sheâs dated, sheâs simply never felt strongly enough about to have much conflict with. In contrast, Tav and Rolan canât help themselves from arguing, and it means they always end up addressing whatever their problems are - even if they hurt each othersâ feelings in the process sometimes. They know that they love each other no matter what, and they care so much that theyâll always make it up to each other in the end. (with lots of amazing sex in the process sorry did you think Iâd get all the way through this post without mentioning that lol)

A Day Off
Hallelujah! What a perfect day. I worked until six o'clock on Wednesday and practically danced out of the library. I have been rotating between the information desk and the circulation desk and the good citizens of this county have worn me out. The last several days have been a bit wonky. There were ten thousand calls asking if we have free eclipse glasses -we didn't, but could direct you to a place that does and/or provide instructions for making your own viewer out of a cereal box and aluminum foil. There was an event giving away free laptops to qualifying residents that was like the last flight out of Saigon. In the words of an unflappable coworker, "There was chaos in every corner of the building." Don't even get me started about Mercury being in retrograde. Like I said, wonky. Saturday was actually quite nice because it was opening day for Little League and there was a parade down Market Street with plenty of cute kids. When I arrived home on Saturday the Edgewater gang showed up and we celebrated Mr. Pullen's birthday. Jamie and I convinced the fellas to accompany us to a greenhouse to hunt for some plants, a greenhouse that the grandgirl said was "in the middle of nowhere". She wasn't wrong. We came home with lots of lovelies for the gardens, a successful trip! This is my favorite picture snapped over the weekend. Tyler and Jamie in a chess battle on the front porch. Never say it's not exciting around here.
I was back to work on Monday (eclipse day) for three busy days, and now I'm free! We delayed our trip to Lancaster for a day to let the bad weather blow through, so we'll leave in the morning, stay over Friday night, and come home later on Saturday. I'm anticipating some fun. Speaking of fun, here's another photo I loved. I'm pretty sure that I'm allowed to post this because she's masked. No one could ever identify her from this photo (and I've been good for six years). I'll delete if they ask. Anyway, this is our little miss on Monday. Isn't it cute pic?
Fast forward to today and I've shed all of the work nonsense and I'm feeling quite content. I spent the entire morning weeding and preparing flower beds, then planting some of the pretties that I picked up at Ball Greenhouses last week. I know I'm early, but these are hardy girls. If Mother Nature turns fickle I'll just be the crazy lady running around tossing sheets over gardens. Wouldn't be the first time. It's a small price to pay for the happiness of today. Working the dirt and dreaming of the blooms to come was good for my soul. I needed this day. Another little something that has recently delighted me is this stuff.
Because I'm at work for nine hours, I have recently become addicted to sugary, fattening, fancy coffee drinks. I'd zip through Starbucks on my lunch break and pick up an iced caramel macchiato , then I started buying the bottles at the grocery store and filling my big sippy cup (that I normally use for water) in the mornings. I was adding way too many calories to my day. So, I searched for a healthier replacement drink that would still give me the boost - and I found it! I'm not on Atkins or Keto or any of those diets, but I definitely appreciate the low sugar/carb count. This protein shake has the same amount of caffeine as a cup of coffee, with added protein and fiber. It's a win! I can have this for breakfast and feel no guilt. Getcha' some! This post is sort of all over the place, sorry about that. I don't have a lot to say and I didn't sit down with a plan. I just opened my laptop and wanted to say hi. I do miss having more time to spend being silly here. The older I get the less I care about being silly. Look at these cool sunglasses I bought in a little shop in Chestertown. Silly for a woman my age? Yes. Do I care? Absolutely not.
I just notice that my name tag for work is all jacked up by my seatbelt. Hope I straightened that out once I got there, but I don't remember doing it. Oops. Several of you have asked about whether or not I'm enjoying my job. It's complicated. I've mentioned my lovely coworkers, I've mentioned that I'm having fun doing the displays, there are plenty of positives. I'm trying to focus on what I have gained and not what I have lost. I do miss having time for hobbies, doing more than work, eat, sleep, repeat. Of course, as I type this I'm looking ahead to three days off - wonderful! The 16th will mark three months in my position, so I do feel I've given it a fair shake...and I just don't know. I'm really pouring a lot of energy, creativity, and effort into this job and I do feel that it's appreciated. They are very nice to me and pay me adequately. I'm just undecided if it's a fair trade for my freedom. I mostly talk about the fun parts, the nice parts, but there are also the not-so-fun parts. A surprising number of books are returned with bed bugs. We have two large "stink boxes" that are usually full of books returned that reek of everything from cigarette smoke, pot, or just general funk. They sit in there with charcoal rocks until they're bearable. Lots of people are rude, really rude. I got used to that when I was in the airline industry, but it doesn't make it any more pleasant. I could go on, couldn't we all? No job is ever perfect, and in the past I tolerated the unpleasant aspects because I had no choice. I don't have to do that anymore. I've been asked to take on some summer programming work - fun activities with kids, outreach booths at festivals, that sort of thing. I'm looking forward to that, and it's been a while since I've had things to look forward to. Well, that's not true. I've had loads of fun family stuff that happened and even a trip to Ireland in the last year, but as far as having something that gives me a chance to actually use my brain and any meager talents I have - this is the first chance since we left Tennessee. I just wish it wasn't so exhausting. Is that just me being sixty? It's kind of funny that I'm twenty to thirty years older than nearly everyone I work with, but they're all so tired. I don't want to scare them about getting older, but I feel like I should drop hints like, "I hope you like ibuprofen..." or "Enjoy those cute shoes while you can..." Honestly, I work circles around most of them, and I shouldn't. Where is their energy? I have to admit that when I'm shelving, and for some reason all of our shelves have books at floor level (why??), it is not fun getting up and down. I actually love shelving because the more books I touch the more familiar I am with the collection, but that bottom shelf will be the death of me. I snapped this picture last week when I was processing books. Some were going out to other libraries, some had been requested locally and were going on our hold shelf, some were being checked in and returned to our shelves.
That back wall is my work area. To the left you can see some of the 50+ craft bags that I assembled to go home with our little visitors. I love those. They have all of the supplies and instructions needed to complete a small craft. To the right of the craft bags are a couple of shelves of books pulled for mending or labeling. Under the desk are the infamous stink boxes. I wish they'd let me decorate this work room. It needs color and art. It should be pretty. Pretty isn't very important around here. That's definitely something I miss about the south. I put a little bit of the south into one of my small displays. We have a good collection of cookbooks here, so I grabbed a tablecloth and sign from our house, and voila!
This hardly counts as a display - just two pieces of decor and some books, but it's working - people are checking out cookbooks! I swap them out every couple of days to keep it interesting. Here's another little bit of nothing - just pillow stuffing glued to cardstock for clouds, the raindrops are cardstock and string. Rainy Day Reads!
See what I mean? None of it is great (I have no budget!) but it's the fun part. So much of the rest is exhausting. They're advertising for a couple of new positions, so maybe if they find the right people I could work fewer hours. If that were the case I could do this for a long time. I'm already cooking up some fun ideas for May. I have my book lists ready and one display will definitely be "Once Upon a Crime..." complete with crime scene tape and a chalk body outline on the floor (actually white painters tape). I may do a Sci-Fi display with an alien saying, "Take me to your reader." We have a huge biography section though, so I probably should use those instead. I could make a giant name tag, like the ol' "Hello, my name is______" that we've all had to wear at some point. I could put up a sign that says Meet someone new, try a biography and put out a variety of interesting people - founding fathers to modern musicians, CoCo Chanel to Sally Ride. Anywho, just letting those ideas rattle around in my brain. I'll figure it out. Wow, I've rambled far too long and it's all disjointed and kooky. I guess I was overdue for a visit here. I'm happy today because I'm home. I hope that you're happy too, or at least on your way to being happy. I suppose we all have to figure out what that means for us, and where it is for us. I know it's not on that damn bottom shelf at the library.
The mister is turning off lights and heading for bed, so I guess that's my cue. We'll run off to Lancaster in the morning so I'll be back on Sunday to share a bit of that with you. It may be nothing but Amish buggies in the rain, but I have a feeling we'll find some fun. If you've made it all the way to the end of this snoozefest of a post, give yourself a cookie. You deserve it. Consider yourself hugged. Stay tuned for the Griswolds' adventures in Pennsylvania Dutch country! Until then, stay safe, stay well, and know how very much I've missed you. XOXO, Nancy

What book are you currently reading?
Born To Be Hanged, a book about the William Dampier/Lionel Wafer/Basil Ringrose piratical voyage in the late 1600s, and also The Scum Villainâs Self-Saving System. I switch between them frequently depending on mood. They are both overdue at the library and my account has been suspended so I really need to focus on them and stop reading fic instead. Anyway.
Whatâs your favorite movie you saw in theatres this year?
Wakanda Forever, but Iâve only seen 2. (I am counting 2022 as âthis year.â)
What do you usually wear?
Work pants. One pair thatâs black for actual work, and one pair thatâs bluejeans for non work. Hoodies. And a lot of tank top/flannel combos.

5â11
Whatâs your Star Sign? Do you share a birthday with a celebrity or a historical event?

If you draw/write, or create in any way, whatâs your favourite picture/favourite line/favourite etc. from something you created this year?

Tag 9 people you want to get to know better or catch up with then answer these questions below!
Consolidating two different versions of these with overlapping questions.
Tagged by @verecunda and @aadmelioraa.
Sorry it took so long!
Four ships: Isildur/Valandil, Aegnor/Andreth, Finrod/Turgon, Miriel/Indis
Last song: Time as a Symptom/Anecdotes by Joanna Newsom. I always imagine Maglor performing in Valinor as something like Joanna, just switching between harp and piano mid-song like she does in this performance. Also want to shout out these lyrics âBut when you come and see me| In California| You cross the border of my heartâ, because Iâve had her other song, In California, on rotation a lot today. My best friend since I was 13 drove down all the way to celebrate my birthday with me yesterday and I really felt those lines! Just full of overwhelming love.
Last movie: Tolkien starring Nicholas Hoult and Lily Collins. I watched it for Ty Tennant and Tom Glynn-Carney though, because I am also House of the Dragon trash.
Currently reading: Havenât read any books recently, do recipe books count? Because the last one I read was Ramsay in 10.
Currently watching: Mike Whiteâs Enlightened, starring Laura Dern. I found it through a pretty heartwarming clip on youtube that used Joanna Newsomâs Esme. Watching Laura Dernâs character having a nervous breakdown was difficult though.
Currently consuming: Herbal tea
Currently craving: Carbonara pasta with the good parmesan and pancetta. It is so hard to get pancetta here.Â
Tagging: @etakyeldud, @runawaymun, @normallyiminsane, @josang, @ichabodjane, @gi-nathlam-hi, @starlady66, @ytdn, @attheexactlyrighttimeandplace

What book are you currently reading?
...Hahaha, yes. I'm reading several manga, light novels, and webcomics, so good luck keeping track lol. The last book I read, I believe, was volume 1 of Wotakoi?
What do you usually wear?
T-shirt and cargo shorts, unless I've decided to grace the outside world with my presence. In which case, it's a T-shirt, jeans, and a slightly oversized jacket or sweater.
How tall are you?
5'5"
Whatâs your star sign? Do you share a birthday with a celebrity or historical event?
Taurus. Couldn't find historical events that occurred on my birthday that interested me, but I do share a birthday with the voice actors Tia Ballard and David Wald.
Do you go by your name or a nickname?
Usually by my nickname. I actually forget my own name sometimes because my friends call me Oly so often (â ďžâ ââ ăŽâ ââ )â ďžâ *â .â â§
Did you grow up to become what you wanted to be as a child?
Hard to say? My memory of my childhood is a bit fuzzy (â ´â -â ďšâ -â `â ďźâ )
Whatâs something youâre good at vs. something youâre bad at?
I'm good at organizing, but I'm bad speaking up. (I'm working on that...)
If you draw/write, or create in any way, what's your favorite picture/favorite line/favorite etc. from something you created this year?
I haven't posted it yet, but it should be up this evening ŕ¸
â ^â â˘â ďťâ â˘â ^â ŕ¸
Dogs or cats?
Cats, all the way. Dogs are nice every now and again, but I like cats better.
What's something you would like to create content for?
Precure, and maybe Kaiju No. 8. I definitely wanna draw more Precure art, but I don't feel motivated to draw often (â ´â -â ďšâ -â `â ďźâ )
I also wanna draw Yuki Rurikawa! You'd think because I like the character a lot, I'd draw a stupid amount of art of them. But sadly, that's not the case (â âĽâ ďšâ âĽâ )
Whatâs something youâre currently obsessed with?
Food or pretty clothes. Fandom things tend to be on rotation since I consume a lot of it at once.
What's something you were excited about that turned out to be disappointing this year?
A few shows ended up being disappointing, I guess?
Whatâs a hidden talent of yours?
Does tidying up the manga section in bookstores count? 'Cause if not, the closest thing I can think of to a hidden talent is unnerving people by saying threatening things in a cutesy voice.
What's something you wish to have at this moment?
A more regular sleeping pattern (â ëâ â¸â ëâ ) And more manga lmao
Tag! You're it!

Tag Game To Better Know You! Send this to people you'd like to know better!
I got tagged by @knivesofwater! Thank you ^.^
đŚđŚđŚđŚ
what book are you currently reading?
I've been reading the lotr trilogy (for a while) and I'm a little ways into the third book, Return of the King. I'm also reading Literaturas da floresta: textos amazônicos e cultura latino-americana by Lucia Så - it's this very interesting study on the often overlooked literary traditions of four indigenous south american cultures and their influence on latino american literature. I'm taking my time with this one too, but it's worth it to really absorb the information.
what do you usually wear?
At home sweatpants, outside basic jeans. I have an infinite rotation of perfectly inoffensive tshirts and sweatshirts ready at all times. The nicest thing I wear on a daily basis are my converse shoes (black). I enjoy the colours grey, blue and brown. Other than my haircut (that I cut at home myself) which serves as a sort of permanent statement piece, I'm just not a very interesting person to look at.
how tall are you?
I've no clue really, but somewhere between 1,65 and 1,70m.
whatâs your star sign? do you share a birthday with a celebrity or historical event?
Leo! No birthday that I remeber, but I was actually born on the date Vincent Van Gogh was fatally wounded (which is not the same as the date he died). So there's that.
do you go by your name or a nickname?
Irl by nickname, but tumblr is basically the only place where I'm called by my full first name, so I mostly keep it that way here.
did you grow up to become what you wanted to be as a child?
Haven't really become anything so far, so no.
Are you in a relationship? If not, who is your crush if you have one?
I don't think I'm cut out for that. dtf tho. I do have this really embarassing crush on a goth guy from college, and I hope he doesn't remember I exist.
whatâs something youâre good at vs something youâre bad at?
I'd say I'm good at anticipating people's needs and reactions, but I'm bad at comunicating my own.
Dogs or cats?
Cats! I love dogs, but I just find cats easier to handle. And nicer-smelling.
if you draw/write, or create in any way, what's your favorite picture/favorite line/favorite etc. from something you created this year?
ooohh I'm always excited to share! let's see...
"Amongst romans, such a relationship is seen as making one man the lesser for taking cock in ass."
okay no sorry I'm gonna be serious now
"Is it your goal to upstage every creature you show yourself to?" He asked without moving his mouth.
The night-black panther did not answer, though it looked a little too smug, even for a cat.
I do have one drawing I really liked but I never finished rendering it so it's... rough.
whatâs something youâre currently obsessed with?
Oh so that's where the emptiness is coming from.
whatâs a hidden talent of yours?Â
I can imitate my cat's vocalizations perfectly, and I use this to fool my family on the daily.
what's something you wish to have at this moment?
A nice chicken parmesan would be perfect tbh. With a side of rice and fries and a tall glass of iced tea.
đŚđŚđŚđŚ
aaaaah idk who to tag - I guess any mutual who wants to do this can go ahead and use me as your tagger! Especially you.

Oooh, could I ask about the birthday fic please?
Coming right up!
Aegnor takes Andreth for a picnic in the hills because of her birthday, and the outing evolves into a conversation about birthdays and begetting days, and as it is usual with this pairing, the differencest in customs between Elves and Men. I kinda want to end it in a way that she finds out when his birthday/begetting day is, and surprises him with a little celebration/gift. It's nothing terribly fleshed out because I was just rotating it in my mind as I chopped tomatoes, but I might put it down on a draft because I seem to have committed to filling this ship's tag on AO3 by myself.
#asks#wip asks#irisse writes fanfiction#i copy-pasted this directly from my Gdrive#this is all i have#i don't even know how valinorean elves would measure days once in beleriand#i don't know what the edain calendar was#so that stumped me with this quite a lot#i might just go with vague wordings like#the first day of spring#two weeks before midwinter#or something like that#and it will have to do#lesbianhaleth

tagged by @terryfphanaticsâ!! thank you :D
What book are you currently reading?
Maritime Murder by Steve Vernon Itâs not quite what I thought it would be heading in but it is good either way. Itâs about a bunch of murders that happened in coastal towns in canada between somewhere in the 1700s to the early 1900s. none of them (so far) actually happen at sea.
What's your favourite movie you saw in a cinema this year?
I havenât gone to the cinema in a bunch of years. the last film I saw in cinema was either thor ragnarok or the last of the hobbit films.
What do you usually wear?
At home sweatpants and a jumper (plus some layers underneath cause I like to be comfy). out and about, pants and depending on the weather a tshirt, longsleeve, jumper or a combination of those, layering is your friend. and I like wearing my super cool steampunk-ish coat, its about ankle long and I love it. it makes me feel cool.
How tall are you?
173cm. which I think is 5â˛8?
What's your star sign?
Leo
Do you share your birthday with a celebrity or historical event?
Not to my knowledge
Do you go by your name or a nickname?
irl I go by my name, its only five letters long to begin with and it cant really be shortened. online I go by a few names, brokenfannibal, broken-lycan and Fenn have been/are online names. Iâve been thinking about putting Lucian in my bio as a name, cause thats a strong contender for when I at some point get my name legally changed.
Did you grow up to be what you wanted to be as a child?
In some ways yes. As a child I always loved people who dressed alternative (punk, goth, grunge, emo etc) and now I dress like that!!! :D child me would like that.
Are you in a relationship? Who is your crush if not?
not in a relationship and dont have a crush
What's something you're good at versus something you're bad at?
Iâm good at creative things generally, mainly writing and drawing. I cant keep even the most simple of rhythms steady for the life of me. Iâve never been good at that.
Dogs or cats?
Itâs gotta be cats. I like cats more than dogs, plus with dogs for me its more like... appreciation from a distance. dogs can be very loud and very hyperactive. and I have a cat who I love very much so maybe Iâm a little biased.
What's something you'd like to create content for?
hmmm.... whatever takes my fancy at the moment really. I want to write more broadchurch fics. but thats inevitably gonna happen.
What's something you're currently obsessed with?
which blorbo rotates around my head right now? xD ray levine from stay close is a likely candidate.
What's something you were excited about that turned out to be disappointing this year?
its too early to say for this year (2023) but for 2022 it was that I had hoped to get an apprenticeship spot at one of the zoos I applied at. I even did internships there but nope. didnt get accepted at any of them.
What's a hidden talent of yours?
I dont think I really have one? my craftiness maybe? thats not sth that comes up a lot.
Are you religious?
no
What's something you wish to have at this moment?
