Plant of the Day
Thursday 8 August 2024
The ideal planting position for Roscoea purpurea (purple roscoea) is a sheltered location in partial shade. This upright tuberous perennial forms a clump of leafy stems with orchid-like light purple flowers in summer and early autumn.

A few of the colours and floral forms of the #iplantsgarden currently. Definitely a change in temperature and general weather clearly heading towards autumn. Despite flowering still doing well, a lot of foliage is declining. . It has been a good, long season. The distinctive brick-red flowers of Roscoea 'Red Gurkha' (hardy ginger) are made even more splendid by the strong dark red stems. This compact and clump-forming plant will grow in dappled shade with a moist but free-draining soil.

Gastric Ulcer Treatment in Nagpur
Ayurvedic Treatment For Gastric Ulcer At Central IndiaAbout Gastric Ulcer:Peptic ulcer disease (PUD), is a break in the lining of the stomach, the first part of the small intestine, or occasionally the lower esophagus. An ulcer in the stomach is known as a gastric ulcer while that in the first part of the intestines is known as a duodenal ulcer. The most common symptoms of a duodenal ulcer are waking at night with upper abdominal pain or upper abdominal pain that improves with eating. With a gastric ulcer, the pain may worsen with eating. The pain is often described as a burning or dull ache.
Signs and symptoms of a Gastric Ulcer
abdominal pain, classically epigastric strongly correlated to mealtimes. In case of duodenal ulcers the pain appears about three hours after taking a meal;
bloating and abdominal fullness;
waterbrash (rush of saliva after an episode of regurgitation to dilute the acid in the esophagus – although this is more associated with gastroesophageal reflux disease);
nausea, and copious vomiting;
loss of appetite and weight loss;
hematemesis (vomiting of blood); this can occur due to bleeding directly from a gastric ulcer, or from damage to the esophagus from severe/continuing vomiting.
melena (tarry, foul-smelling feces due to the presence of oxidized iron from hemoglobin);
rarely, an ulcer can lead to a gastric or duodenal perforation, which leads to acute peritonitis, extreme, stabbing pain, and requires immediate surgery.

Roscoea purpurea Sultan Group today’s deliciously exotic looking #oneadayplant . These have been in flower now for several weeks, with each orchid-like flower lasting a handful of days before wilting as another replaces it. This strain of R. purpurea produce red and purples flowered forms. The plant that I got isn’t as red as I wanted, but I love it either way. Apparently, the tip when selecting these is the darkest black stemmed plants produce the reddest flowered forms. I thought mine was as dark as any other, but a purple-red it is. Never mind, gives me an excuse to buy more next time. . Roscoea purpurea is a member of the ginger family, but until most, which are tender, this comes from mountainsides in the Himalayas, so are surprisingly hardy. . Mine is currently still in a pot. It may stay in one too as I’m thinking of doing a tropical looking plant combination planting in a pot. . Much easier to grow than it looks. Doesn’t like to dry out too much and slugs will destroy it if allowed, so protect as best you can. Otherwise trouble free in my experience. . Foliage is Tradescantia-like, or like short Sweetcorn stems, to 30cm (1’) or so. . #roscoea #roscoeapurpurea #roscoeapurpureasultangroup #sultan #ginger #himalayas #nepal #hardyginger #orchid #plants #flowers #garden #hardyplants #iplantsman #gardening #fence #purple #red #gardeningtips #plantingdesign #gardeningadvice (at Crowborough, East Sussex) https://www.instagram.com/p/CEYq-PdgS4U/?igshid=y69f3gtjsuv2
