👑 The others chuckled as you finished your story, allowing you to look back down as your husband readied his form for the fight. You allowed a single tear to fall down from your eye, but before it hit the ground, you picked it up and tossed it onto the ground, making a four-leaf clover pop up from the flooring. Grabbing it, you blew it to your husband, in your own, silent way to wish him luck in the battle for Humanity's safety

• I think it's much more likely that Qin, rather than meeting Reader when he's in Valhalla, met her when he was alive, specifically when Chun Yan came into his life.

• Chun Yan was very adrift after what happened with her son, however, one day when she went to the market, she came across something unpleasant. A man leading a little girl tied up, as if she were a dog.

• This girl, as you can guess, was Reader.

• Chun Yan didn't even think about it when she broke the guy's jaw, telling him he was a pig for buying a girl so young, taking the rope off him and taking Reader on her shoulders before running away.

• You could say that Chun Yan is Reader's Shinobu here. She's the one who bathed her, dressed her and was generally her mother and teacher until they met Yin Zheng.

• Honestly, Reader was prepared for a hellish and capricious child, but she ran into this mass of nerves. She couldn't help but empathize with his situation, so she tried to befriend him.

• This was the first real interaction with another child their age FOR BOTH, Zheng was used to being ignored and looked down upon for being a “cursed child” and reader was so reserved and scared of the world that she didn't like to socialize. So at first neither of them knew what to do.

• Luckily for Zheng, reader didn't have the same kind of stigma as other people, she never saw him as different because of his background, and she wanted to be his friend sincerely, so Zheng began to become very attached to her.

• During the two years that Chen Yan was their bodyguard and caregiver, she could notice how they had become very close.

• On the one hand, reader really only talked to Zheng, he was one of the few people she felt safe with (along with Chen of course), and Zheng showed his more cheerful and playful side when reader was around.

• Doing things like giving lots of hugs, kisses on the forehead or face, bringing her nice things he found outside, etc.

• There were times when Chen would come back from an errand and find the two of them asleep in Zheng’s bed, cuddling, very close together…

• It was something that worried Chen to a certain extent, how they seemed to have no notion of the limits in terms of closeness, or how Zheng reacted when Reader was not within reach, his reaction when other people were mean to Reader…

• Because of that, Chen refrained from telling the prince about how she and Reader had met, since, knowing him, that would send him into a frenzy. And while his current behavior was… strange, it was nothing too worrying.

• Now, when Chen died, reader really had nowhere to go, so she stayed with Qin, where while she didn't have any status like the other nobles, she received plenty of luxuries and privileges, clothing, food, and accessories with a quality (and resemblance) similar to that of the emperor.

• That, plus their lack of limits regarding displays of affection (especially PHYSICAL affection) made many generals and other nobles insist that Qin get married as soon as possible, or at least, take a concubine (from the nobility).

• And Qin, being the little shit that he is, had them talk to him about all this with reader on him lap, while they ate.

• And guess what his response was?

• “I thought it was obvious that I'm only interested in marrying (Kanao)”

• And reader: “UHHHU!?”

• MOTHERFUCKER THOUGHT THEY WERE ALREADY MARRIED (partly).

• Generally speaking, having Qin Shi Huang, of all characters, as a Yandere is a wild ride, especially when he finds out what Chen tried so hard to hide about reader's past.

• Qin is many things, one of them being overprotective, so he takes the issue of reader's parents very seriously, although he assures her that he won't do ANYTHING that she has to worry about (the execution will be private and on some far away mountain so their corpses are to be eaten by animals--)

• He's a Yandere that goes from 0 to 100 very quickly.

• He enjoys that reader is so closed off and doesn't like to socialize much, it saves him work. After all, if it were up to him, she would stay in the palace with him all day, so it's nice to see her accepting this position willingly.

• Despite this, I feel like Qin likes to show off his partner, but only in specific situations where he also goes out. And he won't tolerate things like catcalls or lascivious looks. They will suffer the same fate as the reader's parents :)

• Both Qin and the reader are used to personal space being non-existent, but considering that the reader is a volunteer (in this fic at least), that makes that be SQUARED, literally the man takes his woman everywhere, she's like his emotional support.

• Thanks to this, the reader is spoiled beyond belief, if there's something that the reader wants or likes, she'll most likely get it that same day or tomorrow at the latest.Things like customized Hanfus, hairpins made of special materials, ladies-in-waiting who do everything for her, etc.

• I got this random idea that Qin likes to feed reader directly(with the chopsticks), even going so far as to taste her food first in case of poisoning (if it turns out to be poisoned, he gives it to someone he dislikes to eat, kills two birds with one stone!).

• Overall, since Qin knows how to cover his tracks, reader lives happily with her husband. It's not such a bad life after all

Beelzebub

• Now, Beelzebub is a different case, it is much more likely that he meets the reader when she is an adult. Maybe through her equivalent to Shinobu.

• We know that Beelzebub is very involved in the whole genetics and science thing, all to find something that can kill him. It wouldn't be crazy to think that at some point he wanted to resort to poisons to test if they would be enough to end his life (not being a direct threat).

• And for that, he needed the resources of someone versed in the subject, so he turned to this Shinobu (I'm going more for Guilla Tofana, a very famous poisoner). What he didn't take into account was that she brought a partner with her.

• That's right, reader.

• To be honest, at first Beel was a bit upset, because Guilla had told him that she was her apprentice, and he didn't want to have to deal with someone inexperienced while he worked.

• Because of this, at first Beelzebub didn't even speak to her, or if he did it was to ask her where her teacher was. He genuinely had no interest at first.

• However, Reader stayed out of the way, taking notes on everything, not interfering even once.

• She wasn't just any subordinate to Guilla, that much could be seen, but she watched everything around her very closely.

• It was better than what he had originally expected, but it was definitely... weird. New.

• Because of this, Beelzebub felt more comfortable talking to her, at first about general aspects of the experiments, although from time to time he would let out some frustration every time an experiment failed.

• Thanks to this, Reader tried to help in small ways, whether it was organizing the research documents, cleaning, bringing new samples with her notes.

• Things that Beelzebub didn't let go unnoticed, in a way it made him less stressed.

• The relationship became more cordial, even friendly.

• However, there was something that felt… off.

• Reader could tell when the place she had cleaned or organized had been turned upside down, and that happened quite often, all to spend more time in the lab. That was the least of it, she would have almost found it cute, if it weren't for other… attitudes.

• There were times when Reader and Beel would have a casual chat, and she could feel him tensing up whenever she mentioned certain people, people she spent too much time with, who she sometimes didn't come around to since she liked to hang out with them.

• Other times Reader could tell that some of her things had gone missing, like her hair ornament, and she only went missing when she went to work.

• The real red flag was when said people either disappeared or, at worst, were victims of a horrible murder, their chests ripped apart.

• There was no doubt about it, it was he. Satan. Beelzebub.

• However, it wasn't going to be easy to just walk away from him.

• Believe me, Beelzebub is almost as scared as the reader, really! At first he was so scared that since he started loving her, she would be a victim of Satan, however, she doesn't have to worry now, he will make sure that she never gets hurt! He would NEVER!

• If she agrees to stay with him until he finally dies (willingly or not), fulfilling the last wish of a demon who seeks death, he will make her as happy as he can while he lives, even at the cost of his own suffering.

• As you noticed, this relationship is screwed in many ways.

• Beelzebub is a pretty masochistic Yandere, since even if the reader hates him, he is happy as long as she is satisfied, she can harm him however she wants, hurt him, it doesn't matter, he can heal. As long as she is satisfied with his suffering, he is happy.

• He is a self-indulgent Yandere, as you can see. For the first time, someone he loves doesn't die, so you can bet he's making the most of this... in his own way.

• This is still Beelzebub, not much of a filter, kind of awkward and shy, just more obviously homicidal.

• On that note, he tries to make reader as comfortable as possible, tries to be as non-threatening as he can, tone down his tendencies a bit, go out and have normal "dates," things so she understands that he does everything based on love.

• He also shares various results of his experiments with her, just wanting to bond over something that once united them. Sometimes when Beel ends up falling asleep on his desk, reader covers him with a blanket, as a small show of empathy.

• Beelzebub acts less erratically when reader opens up about her past, how she ended up in Valhalla, etc. He tries to be more empathetic (even if it's not his thing) and not go straight to the blood (because he doesn't want to scare her).

• Beel clings to the reader a lot, especially when he remembers Lucifer and Lilith, and needs to hold on to something, he goes to her. Crying and shaking, he no longer looks like the fearsome lord of the flies, he looks like a scared child.

• It's the kind of moment that makes it more likely that the reader will have Stockholm syndrome.

• In that case, Beelzebub couldn't be happier!

• At least now, he'll have someone who will love him until he finally dies...who knows, maybe even after.

There’s still at least a month of preparation and training before the events actually start but despite that it’s filled with hustle and bustle

Gods and humans fill the halls

It’s been so long that people of all kind had been gathered to such an occasion

But as minutes ticked on

And you got some of your favourite snacks due to the large concession stands with various amounts of food from various places

You end up heading deeper into the building

The two have a lot of petty squabbles that you now end up being in the middle of

Especially since most conflict in your time has always resulted in heavy bloodshed

Whilst theirs is light hearted and leads to one proclaiming victory as the other sulks in the corner

Even more so about how the world has evolved so drastically

It’s fascinating to them both especially as so many places developed their own cultures that are so different from the others

As the arena begins to fill and time ticks down for the event to start the three of you end up buying shit tons of food

All of which are from different times periods and places for them to try

It ends up becoming a fun game for them as they guess the Irgun of which country the snack came from

Which leads to you then explaining its history

Neither would admit it but both had glared at quite a few people when they stared at you with a certain gaze

It happens enough times that both kinda now go on figurative guard duty when walking about with you

Admittedly they know you can definitely handle yourself

But your now their big sibling

And that means no creep is gonna be messing with you

It often leads to many cuts and bruises but a sense of accomplishment filling you

Something that hadn’t happened in a long time

And you suspect it hadn’t happened to him either from the barbaric smirk that stretches across his face

100% the dude who breaks down your door at 3 am to ask you about stuff you’ve seen or experienced

You don’t really sleep so you don’t mind but you are concerned for poor Cheng who was dragged along half asleep

He finds your stories of war fascinating especially at the mention of things like guns and cannons

It’s odd to you that he’s purely driven by battle

But you aren’t the one to judge so you stick to what he likes

He enjoys modern day snacks and foods but holds a soft spot for spicy foods

Which leads to you and him having competitions as Eve makes some extra spicy foods for the two of you to gobble down

He won’t admit it but he finds it nice that you remembered him of all people

You’d met so many amazing and interesting people in your life yet you greet him like a friend despite meeting once

Despite him being the best known loser in history (a title in which you argue with him over)

Out of most of them your actually quite happy to introduce him to you father who he regards with respect

The grey haired man greeting the ash tinged and ember trailing man who created you

Both eat sweets with bean paste and talk as you leave them to their own

Much like mythology and history both are looked down upon and both have taken different ways to deal with it

You now find the older appearing man conversing with your father or getting him some food he’d thought he’d like

It’s sweet

The moment you introduced yourself to the newcomers and walked through that door Qin shi Huang is basically throwing himself at you

Your welcome your old friend with open arms

Letting him swing you around in joy as the former emperor and you laugh in joy

His eyes traveling down to the bracelet still tethered to your wrist, as beautiful as the day he gifted it

Throughout the entire tournament and it’s wait time your old friend sticks with you

Much like his time alive he is boisterous and prideful but his company was one that you had missed for many millennia

Through you he learns of what happened to his empire

How it continued on into a nation that still lasts even today as other crumbled

How his army of terracotta soldiers still stand to guard him in death and the wall despite its age has yet to fall

Now a wonder and landmark that many travel just to see and walk along its path

He learns of its misdoings as well but he knows many were made by his influence

By his decisions of bloodshed that still seems to stain the remnants of his aged empire

The emperor also learns of your travels since his death

How you sailed the 7 seas and ran your own ship, climbed the highest mountain in the world and stood at its top, swam to the deepest depths of the ocean where light had never touched its sandy floor and ventured through the harsh jungle terrain into unknown territory

It’s honestly Aw inspiring to him how much you’d done

Sure you had done these feats over a thousand or so years giver or take (along with nothing being able to kill you)

But it’s still amazing to him how much you’d seen

How much you could do within the span of eternity

But with that comes the realization that eventually you’d run out of things to do

But he brushes the though aside as the two of you engage in a feast with him and the other emperors that came after him

You sit the closest at his side and the others stretched along a long table filled with foods ranging from his time to later on

Sometimes for fun the two of you wear your clothes from when he was still alive

You wear your old robes as does he

And the the two of you prance around the coliseum as he points at something and has you “explain!”

The two of you always end up laughing until crying by the end of the day

He’s basically attached at your hip but you don’t mind at all

You’ve missed him for so long

Dinners with Adam’s family end up frequently with Qin joining as well

He ends up getting along well with Cain and Abel

The three of them joking as Eve and Adam place down a fresh meal

His whole “I’m emperor” thing can sometimes get on people’s nerves so you sometimes have to end up being a middle man

He does it partially to piss people off and cause he thinks it’s fun

It kinda is

Until he wants to pull that shit on the gods and you have to drag his ass away from their area of the arena

His is basically jumping for joy when Chun Yun gets to finally meet you

For a long time you’d only ever hear stories of the fiery woman so meeting her is actually really intriguing

Especially since she jokes that you must’ve had your hands full with dealing with him for years

That in turn makes him whine as she gives you a handshake that return wholeheartedly

She’s his only other impulse control other than you and by god does he need it

Unlike you though she’ll chew him out for doing something stupid, you call it a mom thing

When you talk with her in private she tells about how she raised him

And how she’s glad he met someone like you who became a true friend to him

Something he always needed

In return you thank her for making sure he made to actually survive

your father definitely meets the two of them at some point with how close they are to you

He’s pleasantly surprised with how the two greet him with normality

There’s respect but no formality that he got from Kojiro that would eventually fade as the two got closer

It’s just off the start they treat him as if he were a normal person

He appreciates it along with the fact they don’t stare at his deformities

Nor do they think of him lesser because of them

In fact it seems they think of him higher because of them which initially confuses him

So when he asks about it both the emperor and his past body guard explain where Qin grew up

How on the streets of a place now long changed many people were born had later gained disabilities and survived anyways through their strength and determination

Qin always respected them despite the fact they still hated him

Perhaps because just like him they persevered despite how others wanted to push them down

In many ways the two bond over the fact they were (and in some ways still are) considered useless

How they were repeatedly kicked down over and over yet got us just to spite them all

Hephaestus finds Qin to be fucking hilarious and the two find themselves cackling over stupid shit your father would make

Chun Yan also gets close to your dad as does her child whom spends his time playing with the toys your father makes for the young lad

It’s fun especially for Hephaestus as he makes small little wind up gadgets and toys

Qin now gives your dad ideas that somehow turn out really well which is funny to see

Especially as his ideas are “you know what would be cool?, a giant flying lamp for moths to follow” and Hephaestus is like “bet”

When seeing Jack again the English gentleman offers you a polite wave as Qin excitedly hugs you

It’s later on that he comes to you and the two of you share a nice time alone

Unlike the others Jack is nocturnal partially due to his uh…hobby so he spends the midnight and early hours with you

It’s was during those times you’d always felt lonely so you enjoy the company

He makes some tea and you both end up talking for hours

Trying to make your way back home to your husband has always been a hassle, especially when you're trying to power through a crowd. You tried your best not to bump into anyone in fear of angering the civilians. As you reached the end of the crowd, your rear end accidentally brushed against the crotch of a man, who had been eyeing you lustfully from the beginning.

When you managed to escape the huge crowd, a hand held onto your wrist, tightening when you tried to take your wrist back.

"Where do you think you're going?" The man asked, his grin growing wider as he watched you struggle.

"Away from you." You hissed, raising your hand and slamming it on the man's wrist. You yanked your wrist back once his grip loosened up and took a fighting stance.

"Your highness! The emperor requested you to come back home now!" One of the servants called out to you. You sighed out, straightening yourself up and followed the servant to the palace. Meanwhile, the man froze in his place, feeling stupid for trying to make a move on the Empress.

You stood absolutely still to let the servants dress you up in your home clothes. Once they were done, you made your way to your husband, a gentle smile on your face. And there he was, practicing his fighting as he usually did. You didn't bother interrupt his sessions, just silently admiring him.

The way his arms slightly flex from swinging his weapons and his shoulders on display was amazing.

"Still training as always. But I'm not complaining." You thought, leaning against the wall separating the room from the hallways. The same servant from earlier checked up on you and after giving them an reassuring answer, you turned and your husband was nowhere in the room. You went to go search for him, but a pair of strong arms wrapped around you from behind.

"Why do you always hug me like this?"

Warnings: spoilers from Round 7, i am a noob in all that is Mortal Kombat SO if i get something wrong i'm sorry, Reader is like Mileena, she has a disasce that make her face deform, is kind of sadistic and a great fighter.

Hades

• Hades is used to dealing with beings of all kinds, living in Heilhaim that is daily bread.

• However, you have to know how to handle these creatures, some are simply demons without reason, others are smarter, and others rule important parts of the underworld, so they must be supervised very carefully.

• That was what happened with a certain demonic family, one from the east, who, although they had a bad reputation, the power they had over the underworld was undeniable, so it was important to maintain a formal relationship.

• That was how he and the reader initially met.

• Well, something like that. Hades always saw the reader behind his father whenever they talked about some matter related to the regulation of the underworld, but they didn't get to interact the first few times.

• She simply looked at him intensely, wanting to analyze all his movements, looking like a domesticated animal. It was intriguing, to say the least.

• Hades tried to talk to her a couple of times, either asking her opinion on the topics he discussed with his father or some casual topic. The result was almost always the same, a growl with a stern frown.

• Hades had to control himself not to laugh and probably make her even angrier, maybe for other people that would have been intimidating, but for him it was the equivalent of a kitten meowing.

• And in the few occasions where she didn't show a hostile side towards him, she was hostile towards other people. Whether it was showing her high knowledge in martial arts, destroying her enemies (preferably with her Sai's), she even sometimes went out and came back with blood stains on the mask she always wore.

• Which only made the interest of the king of the underworld increase.

• Fortunately, Hades had the opportunity to talk to the reader properly when his father was um- indisposed, and she had to handle family matters.

• I don't think Hades is the least bit fazed by Reader's interest in violence (or even cannibalism), it is the underworld after all, aside from the fact that seeing her get excited is almost adorable (she almost reminds him of Adamas).

• As a means of getting to know her, Hades asks her some philosophical questions, but he realizes pretty quickly that almost all of Reader's answers resolve around one theme: power.

• Power over people, over the masses, destructive power, power to do whatever you want. That seemed to be Reader's main mission, to gain power no matter what it takes. Above all, over her stupid father (Hades can relate to that to a certain extent).

• If we go further, even if they reach a friendly relationship, it will take a while for Reader to decide to share the fact that she is sick, precisely because she doesn't want to be seen as someone vulnerable (especially not to someone much stronger than her, both because of her pride and past experiences).

• Thankfully that doesn't matter anymore once they start a relationship.

• Now, to be honest, Hades doesn't give a damn if reader makes humans' lives miserable, as long as she's happy, he can provide her with whatever she needs (this also applies to getting human flesh to eat in a more civilized way, for example).

• (although I have a feeling Hades likes to wipe reader's face when she comes back from a "snack outing", just something funny that came to mind)

• As much as people complain about him, Hades can't see reader's anger outbursts as anything other than hilarious, he probably likes to watch the show up close, just enjoying seeing his wife in her element.

• As for the illness, there's nothing to worry about, in many ways.

• One, Hades really doesn't care that reader doesn't have a conventional appearance, more so in this case because she's sick, and he tries to be as supportive and understanding as possible.

• He doesn't encourage the use of the mask to cover the reader's face, but he doesn't discourage it either, since he knows it's a way to feel comfortable. But he probably constantly reminds her that it's not her appearance that he loves most about her.

• Hades probably asks Beelzebub to investigate the reader's illness, precisely to find a cure. If it's not possible through modern medicine or Beelzebub's experiments, Hades isn't against giving the reader Ichor in order to avoid her suffering.

• Although in general, if the illness is just a deformity and doesn't threaten the reader's life, Hades is fine with not taking immediate action. Yes, it feels weird (especially for him, who always got used to taking care of another), but again, he won't do anything that the reader isn't comfortable with.

• They are the dynamic of majestic husband and gremlin wife personified. Nothing more to add.

Qin Shi Huang

• I think it's more likely that Qin meets Reader after his round, when he's a little sensitive from losing his arm.

• He meets Reader by chance, just by hanging out in the same areas (being part of the same pantheon), and at first, Qin didn't think much of her.

• Until he started seeing her more often, and started to be on the alert.

• Qin thought that, maybe, after what happened with Hades, Adamantine would have sent someone to kill him, but at the same time it was strange that this girl was just lurking around.

• Although of course, Qin didn't see her as a real threat, not after winning his round with a GOD, so he didn't even tell the Valkyries, being curious about this woman and what intentions she had.

• When he eventually fully recovered, Qin went to a fairly open place shortly, thinking that this way the woman would finally show her face and want to, at least, talk to him.

• and he wasn't wrong! If it had been anyone else, the Sai that had been thrown from a distance would have pierced his head, but for him it was like stopping a paper airplane.

• As Qin inspected the weapon, he nonchalantly spoke to the woman, about how he had already sensed it from the start, but was curious as to why someone would want to watch him for so long, or in this case, try to kill him a second time.

• However, the woman only seemed more and more irritated with the emperor's words and the lack of one of her weapons, growling and getting angry.

• At least she could tell him her name, right? She surely knew his, right? It was only fair!

• Reader just rolled her eyes and rushed straight to fight the arrogant emperor, who, although he was now missing an arm and had recent wounds, still moved VERY well, giving very strong blows, BEING very strong.

• That was precisely why Reader had sought him out. She wanted to face someone interesting, someone strong, someone who, if she defeated, would put her somewhere in the power hierarchy.

• The strong, after all, are the ones who stay on top, that's how things were, if she wanted power, she had to start with the big fish.

• And to be honest, the fight was interesting, but it was easy for someone like Qin to beat reader. That wasn't even the most frustrating thing about it all.

• The most frustrating thing about it all was that Qin Shi Huang had gained some interest in her, so every time he saw her, he stuck to her like glue and kept pestering her to talk to him about what? A little bit of everything, about her techniques, about the handling of her weapons, where she learned this and that, if he was her type, etc.

• I genuinely think Qin would be VERY INTERESTED in a partner who can kick his ass, or at least put up a fight (being on the spectrum of being strong in general), so reader, even with her bad start, definitely ends up being his type.

• If we go by the general idea of the relationship, both are gremlins who enjoy making life miserable for valkyries.

• Do you think Qin Shi Huang would be disgusted by reader's pseudo cannibalistic tendencies? bitch, he literally drink MERCURY WITH JADE thinking that it would give him IMMORTALITY, even if he was he can't judge her diet decisions.

• They are like two sides of the same coin, while Qin is a proper leader figure, reader is more of a power figure who seeks domination. They are different, but similar.

• They definitely bond through fighting! This helps a lot because reader even improves her physical condition, which makes her illness not spread faster.

• Speaking of which, I don't think Qin had any suspicions as to why reader was covering her face in the first place (I mean, he covers his eyes for his own reasons) and thought it was just part of his style.

• Does he seem worried when reader tells him? Not really, he wants to make fun of it. Does he still act like a motherfucking hen the minute reader isn't taking medication? Yep.

• It's not really a matter of appearances with Qin (motherfucker has his eyes BLINDED most of the time) but rather he's more concerned about the health aspect. Luckily Valhalla has all the medicine that the earthly plane doesn't, so they'll be fine.

• A pair of gremlins who enjoy causing trouble together.
