Hey, the ACLU is getting people to send letters to your Reps to have Congress pass the No Kings Act.
This act would make constitutional amendments to ensure that even sitting presidents are held liable for their actions. That NOBODY is above the law.
Their goal is 150k messages sent and at the time of writing this they're about 2.1k off from that goal!
ACLU gives you a prefilled message that you can edit to send to make the process easier, and will send it out for you.
This only takes a few minutes!

if you fall into this category just go ahead and unfollow/block me — i don’t care what you have to say about it and i won’t be discussing it further

yo hey US people who sent in absentee ballots, they are tossing mail-in ballots for no reason. i just had to call my county board of elections and demand a cure for my ballot because north carolina didn't send out any notices of issues with ballots, and the issues are fake. if you voted by mail-in make sure your ballot was actually counted

Help A Trans Family Stay Housed
Since its nearing the end of the month we need to raise as much as we can for rent. We're moving soon to a hopefully cheaper place. Since the @rickybabyboy site is almost done any donation that has a note requesting it with an email to reply to will receive access to the site for a month for the cost of the donation as soon as it's available. Otherwise consider helping us out as we work on a new internet and as I work on lightweight foss tools for the public such as Bread3D which is a 3D engine you can use from a terminal.

Tired and sleepy reader who gets affectionate 10x more than usual with soushiro...... fluff
notes: short and cute... soft and sweet... im very sleepy all the time. this speaks to me. obligatory soundtrack for this lil' thing is this album.
nights like these
soshiro hoshina x gn!reader no warnings apply, they're just cute. word count: 808
“it’s 3 AM,” hoshina whispers, leaning close to your face. “you know that, right?”
it’s been an ever-increasing habit of yours to call hoshina over right before you went to bed—you’d frequently call him over in the middle of the night, to increasingly later and later hours–and yet he’d show up each time, without fail. you’d texted him in the middle of the night, holding your phone close to your face, rubbing at your eye as you blearily texted for him to come over.
“mm,” you whine sleepily, reaching out to touch his face, letting your thumbs brush across his cheeks.. “hoshinaa.”
“yes?” hoshina’s voice was soft as he rested his hands on the bed, letting himself lean into your touches. as your thumbs brushed across the corners of his lips, you could feel the way his smile quirked upwards into your touch. one of his fangs poked out a little bit, teasingly biting the pad of your thumb. you whine, ever so softly, and he laughs fondly, pressing his face closer to yours. “what is it?” “stay,” you mumble. “don’t want you to go. stay here.”
“mm.” hoshina’s hands reached up to wrap around your wrists, his thumb brushing the back of your hands. “greedy. i still have things to do, you know.”
“no you don’t,” you protest, brushing your face against his. you can feel the way he shivers against your skin,  “‘m asking you to sleep with me, soshiro, what could be more important?”
“mm…” hoshina’s voice turns into a low drawl–you can feel the way his voice vibrates in his chest. “just don’t wanna get caught. the rest of the third division’s never gonna let this go if they find me…” though as he says this, he’s gently pushing at you ever so slightly, nudging you deeper into your bed, trying to make room for him. “c’mon, darling dearest. move a little bit for me.”
you shift backwards a little, yawning a bit as hoshina takes off his jacket, throwing it somewhere on the floor behind him as he pulls up your covers, slotting himself neatly beside you. you yawn again, pressing your face into his collarbone as soon as he’s settled. for how lithe he is, his chest is hard, too–firm and tensed with muscle. you can feel the way his heart beats, slow and steady.
he hums, wrapping one of his arms around you, pulling you closer.
“you’re so needy, y’know?” hoshina teases, running a hand through your hair. “what am i gonna do with you?”
“mmh,” you kiss his neck, and his skin is warm. he smells faintly of something sweet and clean, and he chuckles.
“hey, i’m talkin’ to you…” he yawns a bit, his body tensing a little bit as he entangles his legs with yours, leaning forward to bury his face in the nape of your neck. “mm…”
“how was work today?” you ask, gently touching at the nape of his neck. he feels warm, a tactile weight beneath your hands, and you can’t help but feel the desperate desire to swallow him fully, fully entangling yourself in him–till you wouldn’t be able to tell where you start and where he ends.
“mm. fine. boring,” hoshina says. “filin’ paperwork keeps me up all night. needed t’write up a report. i’d much rather be out there fightin’.” he presses a kiss to your neck as well, almost biting down against your skin. you shudder, entangling your hands in his hair. “how about you?”
“boring,” you respond. you tilt hoshina’s head up slightly, blinking up at him. his scarlet eyes were ever-so-slightly narrowed with sleep, his expression intense even though his body belied his weariness, how exhausted he really was. but his face is so fond–a fondness that makes your throat squeeze, almost. you lean up to slot your lips together, and he hums ever so slightly, moving his lips against yours sleepily.
“this is the highlight of my day,” you murmur against his lips, and he chuckles.
“sap,” he teases.
“mm. shut it, you. you’re the one in my bed right now,” you mumble, pressing closer to him.
“only after you asked,” hoshina says, but his hand around you is firm, protective–possibly even a little possessive as it moves to the small of your back.
“negotiation’s one of my best traits,” you tease.
“it is,” hoshina says, ever so fondly. his hand reaches up to brush your hair from your face. “n’you’re lucky i love you, and you’re cute when you ask.”
you hum, leaning into his touch, kissing his palm.
“i’m sleepy,” you complain, a pout coming across your lips.
“then sleep,” hoshina says, kissing you again on the lips. “i’ll be here.”
“mhm,” you mumble, letting your eyes fall shut as you tuck yourself against hoshina, feeling the warm embrace of sleep take you into its arms.

— Summer Flurry.
summary. In which you and Five learn about each other over ice cream, and then beyond ice cream flavors. one-sentence synopsis. “Vanilla. How boring.” “Please, chocolate's not exactly wild, you know.”
Tumblr media
content. unhealthy amount of ice cream, unrealistic daily ice cream consumption, non-canon compliant, set sometime during the time five was trapped in the future. fluff, romance.
word count. 2.1k
a/n. WARNING = SWEET STUFF. AT RISK OF DIABETES (you, me, five and reader). wrote this without a specific time during the events of the show in mind. just wanted to light, cutesy fluffy five x reader where they are somewhere far from the apocalypse (and season 4)
Tumblr media
You like to ask him questions.
"What are you looking at?"
"What is that … thing you’re wearing?"
"Why does ice cream taste so good?"
Five likes having answers for you.
"The scenery."
"It’s just my school uniform, for the lack of a better term."
"It just does."
You don't always like his answers.
"But there's nothing here but old cars and vandalized buildings."
"What school do you go to? I’ve never seen anyone around here with that uniform."
"That's not a good explanation."
That is the first time you ever met, so Five doesn’t find it in him to entertain you with honest answers.
"Tough, then."
Ideally, you two shouldn't work. You shouldn't meet, shouldn't talk, shouldn't eat ice cream together outside of an old ice cream shop, the seats made of plastic and the heat of the summer sun beating down on them. You shouldn't even know each other.
But you never liked rules and Five is sick of expectations and being alone the summer he meets you, young but not too young, restless yet also too exhausted with life to do anything but sit beside each other with your small cups filled with ice cream.
"I'm Y/N."
"Five."
You don’t question his name. Figures it’s probably a fake name, for a traveler who is making his way through this place.
Many would argue that that was a nice place to stop — appropriate for acquaintances. But formalities make you uncomfortable, and Five doesn't care for them, so you throw the arguments out the window as you scoot in closer towards the shade and look into Five's cup.
"Vanilla. How boring."
Five is ready to burst with obscenities in response to that insult to his favorite flavor, but upon noticing the small grin on your face, he lets himself relax a little. "Please, chocolate's not exactly wild, you know," he finally says, and he likes the way your lips quirked at that.
"Better than vanilla."
And somehow you get into a fight over ice cream flavors, then move onto condiments. Five argues that ice cream is fine as is without the additional sweets, and you only laugh, finding that "a typical answer from a boring guy" because sprinkles are apparently the epitome of "the wild side".
The next day, Five has sprinkles on his ice cream — albeit they are pushed to the side by the time you arrive — and you laugh again before taking the sprinkles and scooping them into his own cup, disregarding sanitary rules and whatnot.
Five hates the way it tastes, so he sees no more sprinkles in the future.
No more sprinkles, and a lot more of you.
He meets you every day of that summer outside of the ice cream shop. Sometimes, he is there first, sitting at the only table available and slowly eating away at the content of the cup. Other times, you arrive early, leaning against the wall in the shade while trying your best to slow down your eating so you can wait for him, and hope that he will show up before you get to the bottom of your second cup.
You learn a lot about each other during the days of summer.
Your first summer together, you learned the basics.
"How old are you?"
"Technically, I’m twenty six."
"Oh. You’re older than I am."
"Hah, you should respect me more."
"As if that'll ever happen."
The next day, you get a scoop of mint chocolate, and you make him try it. You can't tell whether he likes it or not.
"Do you live nearby?"
"No, but I can get here within the blink of an eye."
"Are you even from this town? How long do you plan on staying here?"
"Just for June and July."
"Then why are you here? It's August."
"Obviously for you."
"… Oh."
The basics are that Five is older but you are better at social skills, that he claims that he is working and you are still a student, that he is both careful and careless and you are neither nor, that he likes vanilla ice cream and you like chocolate ice cream, and a lot of other things. But the simplest fact is the reason you both stick around: that you piqued Five’s interest and that he thrills you.
Tumblr media
Your second summer together, you dig deeper.
Five reveals his soft side as he brings you a gift from the last “job” he was on just before this summer rolls around.
He reveals his darker side by accident when a guy whose biceps are larger than his brain approaches your table and tries to drag you with him, leading to you hearing him yell and go feral for the very first time.
Little by little, parts that aren't very 'basic' but much more meaningful are discovered. You learn about the uniform he wears, and you realize why he never talks about his family.
As you dig deeper, he lets himself relax as well. Your questions become (if possible) increasingly ridiculous, as you know Five will answer them all anyway.
("Do you think polar bears like ice cream?"
Five shoots a glare at you. "No, they like fish," he answered, rolling his eyes.
"Don't they like Coke? I mean, their commercials have polar bears."
"Fish," Five deadpans.
"What about—"
"Do we really have to talk about polar bears?")
That summer, it is harder to keep him from coming to see you than the last. Admittedly, there is already a bond between you, stronger with your new knowledge of each other, your weaknesses and strengths, your secrets and so on.
"I’m going to have to leave."
You don’t look up from your empty cup. You only nod once in understanding.
"Aw, come on," Five says, his voice soft as he leans over to nudge your shoulder. "I’ll be back next summer. We'll have more things to talk about."
You look up, smiling a bit. "You’re coming back for me?" you tease, causing Five to fall back, red and spluttering. "Or the ice cream?"
Five glares. "The ice cream, obviously."
"Maybe I’ll move away before you come back," you continue, a big grin spreading across your face as a sense of dread carries up his neck. But he doesn’t say anything; he only stands up and throws away his cup before storming off. You chuckle as you hurriedly follow. “Just kidding, I have nowhere to move to, you know.”
"Hey! Hey, Five, wait up! How do you even walk so fast with those legs?" You say, panting as you jog up to the boy’s side, whose arms are deep in his pockets and eyebrows furrowed.
For the first time, Five doesn’t offer you anything witty or cheeky in response; but he is waiting for something, and he is not exactly sure what that was. Whatever it is, it makes him feel queasy inside.
"I'll miss you," You finally said, putting a hand on his arm. "Take care, okay?"
That is not what Five is waiting for, but he still smiles weakly. "I'll see you next summer. Don't be late." And then he is gone — true as he said, within the blink of an eye — as you walk the other way, off towards the bus stop, back to your house and — worst of all — without Five.
Tumblr media
During the following Fall, you buy anything vanilla-flavored everyday until it makes you sick.
Five has just cleared a job, when he eyes a chocolate bar in the vending machine, and grabs it before he changes his mind, on his way home.
Tumblr media
This is your third summer together. It's odd, thinking you’ve only known each other for three seasons, each time separated by a year of not seeing each other. And yet, when he sees you again, he does nothing but enjoy your moments together, enjoy each other. It’s the only time when Five lets go of himself.
This summer, he takes chances.
He grabs your hand without warning.
You lean into him unconsciously.
He brings a stuffed animal to tease you with, but you are nearly in tears when you take and smile brightly to thank him, completely missing the way his eyes dilate in affection while watching the happiness on your face, all because of one simple action of his.
He makes you sing to him for the first time on a lazy evening and he thinks he can fall asleep to just his voice.
And his words mean more than they used to.
("You're cute."
Your cheeks grow warm in an instant, averting your gaze to your leftover, melted ice cream. "Stop that," you mumble.
"Stop what?" He grins, enjoying the way he can easily fluster you with simple words.
"Stop joking around like that. It's not funny," you grumble, trying not to focus on the intensity of his gaze.
"But I'm not joking.")
Still, there's an unspoken, foreboding mood that settles at the beginning of August. You ignore it at first, your ice cream and conversations much better topics to talk about.
But then the day comes when you have a question and Five cannot quite give you an answer.
"When will you be back?"
"… I don't know."
And you want to beg him to answer, beg him to say 'soon' or maybe even 'I'll never leave you.' You want a definite answer more than anything right now, because this is Five, the biggest question of your life. And time is ticking.
Cars pass, time flies, and soon he stands up to throw away his cup. You watch quietly before following. You walk a little, stopping in the parking lot when you work up the courage to grab his hand and whisper, "Come back soon."
His face is so close to yours, and your breathing is uneven. You watch as his eyes dart from your eyes to your lips over and over, and he's leaning in when a truck drives by and the sound startles both of you apart.
He inhales nervously while you give him a weak smile, swallowing the missed chance and pushing the disappointment down your throat. Five leaves with a quiet goodbye, and you watch him go, like you always used to. It's suddenly cold despite the warm breeze.
Tumblr media
You grow up, and you ditched your plans to move away. You walk past the ice cream shop everyday, but you never go in.
During the summer, you return though. You order ice cream and sit down in the front, your eyes scanning for a familiar face that never shows up. Day after day, you eat less and less ice cream.
But you never stop showing up.
Three years pass without Five.
Tumblr media
It's a mid-June day and you have finished half of your ice cream. You don’t feel like you want to eat anymore, and you get up to throw your cup away when you bump into someone.
"F-Five?" you stammer, your eyes wide with surprise and something more.
Said man doesn't answer. He has grown taller, you noticed. He looks down at your cup, at the vanilla ice cream leftover, and before either of you can say anymore, his lips are on yours.
"You taste like vanilla," are the first words you hear from him in three years, and you’ve never loved hearing a voice this much.
"I–" You can't even speak, can't really think when Five is there, warm from the summer heat but there.
Somewhere between your blabbering and his soft laughter is the explanation behind the vanilla. You, who hate vanilla, ordered it every day after he stopped showing up. Maybe you wanted to remember Five, or maybe you wanted to keep him alive. Or maybe it's all of that and much more.
The answer is lost between kisses and ice cream.
Tumblr media
You like to ask questions.
"Why didn't you come back?"
"Did you miss me?"
"Do you love me?"
Five likes to have answers.
"I was busy saving the world."
"What do you think?"
"If I didn't, I wouldn't have come back for you."
Sometimes you don't like his answers.
"What did you save the world from? Why did we need to be saved?"
"I don't know what I think, so why don't you tell me?"
"Do. You. Love. Me."
But Five doesn't care enough to answer anymore, because he's pressing sweet pecks on your lips (each of them saying, "I. Love. You. So. Much."), and that's enough to answer all of the questions.
Tumblr media
"Hey, guys, do you think chocolate or vanilla is better?"
There is a chorus of votes for vanilla and chocolate.
Klaus smiles. "I think they're best combined."

summary. You ask Five the classic question: "If I fall, will you catch me?" one-sentence synopsis. “Five is pretty sure that if circumstances allow, he would label your pair of lips as his and only his.”
Tumblr media

Tumblr media
If I fall, will you catch me?
.
“Five?”
The man cracks open an eye, his peaceful slumber interrupted. But he does not mind.
“Hmm?”
His voice cracks and you chuckle to yourself. Softly, you hover your fingers down his face, taking in the peaceful sight beside you who is currently drifting between the realms of dreams and reality. You smile when Five lazily pushes your hand away from him and snuggles closer to you. You catch a waft of his scent — a mix of sandalwood and vetiver, a fleeting hint of something like smoky incense — and bury your nose into his mop of messy hair.
“’S late, go back to sleep.” Five slurs.
You know you have hectic schedules ahead of you tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow after tomorrow, and it goes on and on like that for the rest of the week. Still, one look at Five and it’s bright smiles and warm days, and you can’t help but wonder if all of this is a dream and one day you’ll wake up from this and everything will be gone.
Well, you suppose, if you don’t pinch yourself too hard, you’re certain you won’t wake up to reality.
You continue to look at Five and memorize every single detail of his face, like how his long eyelashes brush against his cheeks and how his lips part slightly when he’s in a deep sleep. You wonder what it is like for him when you kiss, if he goes through the same rollercoaster of exhilaration like you do — if it feels like rainbows and sunshine exploding behind his eyes or if it feels like butterflies dropkicking your stomach until he’s so nervous he can’t think straight or it’s a whole new world altogether.
But you tuck all of that into the deepest corners of your mind (and heart), and continue to look at Five for as long as you can until you fall asleep.
“If I fall, will you catch me?”
It’s a whisper, an extremely quiet and soft one where no one will hear unless their ears are strained to the maximum, focused one hundred and twenty percent.
But Five doesn’t answer, not even with his close proximity to you, because he has been pulled back into a state of unconsciousness before he could hear what you said.
.
Falling in love with Five Hargreeves is not like drifting lazily through the clouds, weightless and serene. It’s more like stepping off the edge of a cliff, your heart in your throat as the wind tears past you, daring you to trust that the fall won’t break you.
There’s no gentle landing with him—no safety net of soft words or promises of forever. Five doesn’t hold your hand; he challenges your every step, his sharp wit cutting through your hesitations like a blade, forcing you to leap without knowing where you’ll land.
He doesn’t cushion you with false comfort; he cuts through your fears, steadying you in a way that’s raw and real.
His love is not a free ride through the sky. It's as much a force as the winds pulling you down. And yet, it’s that same biting wit that makes you feel alive.
.
When he kisses you, it’s nothing like you could ever imagine it to be. It’s slow, sweet, and strangely addicting. His lips brush lightly against yours as he tilts your chin upwards slightly to capture your lips with his own.
Your lips are the sweetest thing Five has ever tasted, better than cinnamon sugar and honey combined, and when you pull apart for air he gets a bit miffed and curses his lungs for requiring oxygen because kisses are supposed to last forever, just like love.
I love you, Five says, breathless.
Love. The word makes your world spin more than two turns a day and the way his eyes are glassy and faraway and filled with love it just doesn’t help calm your erratic heartbeats at all.
When you don’t say anything, he leans in for more and more and more sweet, gentle kisses.
Five is pretty sure that if circumstances allow, he would label your pair of lips as his and only his. And you would do the same for him, because love and kisses without him simply feels wrong and incomplete.
.
Loving Five is like flying, not because it’s easy or light, but because it forces you to let go of everything you thought you knew. With him, the ground is far beneath you.
It’s a dizzying, breathtaking freefall.
.
You watch as the sun sets, shadow sprawled across the endless sea. You sit on the edge of a rock, feet dangling a few centimeters above the sand as you take in the vastness of the ocean and wonder if the story about the little mermaid who turned into foam because she lost her love was true.
It’s depressing, and it makes your heart feel heavy against your chest.
“You always this melancholic, or is it just the view?” Five appears behind you, hair tousled from the sea breeze. Your heart skips a beat.
“Hey to you too.” You smile. The man stands beside you and breathes in the salty smell of the sea.
You look at the setting sun side by side, the laughter of the others filling the silence between you. You like moments like these, where the silence is always comfortable and you don’t have to rack your brains to think of something to say and your thoughts can just wander anywhere from pink, orange-y skies and flying seagulls to the specks of sand that have found their place in Five’s hair.
You want these moments to last, and you keep everything that has happened between you committed in your memory so you can look back on them and reminiscent the memories when he’s gone and away on a job, away from you.
Distance makes the heart grow fonder, and you know no matter how far apart you are in distance (and time), he will always find a way back to you.
“Guys!” Luther’s voice booms from someplace faraway, “We’re leaving for dinner soon!! Diego is paying tonight!!!”
You stand up to leave after Five starts walking towards the van. You watch as his feet leave footprints in the sand, and how it doesn’t seem to fade away and hopes that it will be like that, always, in your heart.
Five has made a permanent home in your heart, and one day if the footprints in your heart are gone you are sure the house will collapse and knock you out and bury you under. You know you won’t be able to take the pain, because he is that important to you.
You don’t even notice that he has stopped walking and is patiently waiting for you to catch up with him and walk side by side with him, like he always has. You call out. “Hey, Five?”
“If I fall, will you catch me?”
Five blinks, but seconds later his face breaks into a rare smile, a smile that is reserved only for you. The man says nothing and holds out his hand.
I won’t catch you, because—
“I’ll fall with you.”
You smile, slight pressure building behind your eyeballs as you reach out to take his hands. For a moment you forget that he has to wake up early tomorrow to catch the earliest plane, briefcase by the door, and leave you behind again.
“Always.”

Tumblr media
You heard the bell reverberate as the door shut firmly behind you, yet it was still welcoming as you looked back through the deli windows as all the Fives waved you farewell.
The Five that was still technically your husband held a harsh grip around your wrist as he pulled you away from the warm lighting of the deli and back into the cool chill of the time-traveling subway station.
Once the two of you reached the top of the stairs onto the platform, you dug your nails and bitterly as possible into the veiny flesh of his hand.
He grabbed your other hand to separate your sharp manicure from him. You snatched your hands back and took a step away from him with a sneer.
He looked down at you as if you were an animal cowering in defense. He sighed with a heavy chest, weighed with guilt, as he said, “Look, I don’t want to upset you anymore than I already have. Can we save the world and then discuss this?”
As you glared at him, a subway train pulled into the station, whirring loudly as its strong gust blew your hair past your face. It screeched horrendously as it halted, the door alighting with your stances.
You simply nodded with a furrowed brow as you walked past, hitting him with your shoulder, and boarding the subway car.
As you sat down with folded arms and a firm stare at the floor, you ignored him as he sat directly across from you, holding his face in his hands.
He took the time to memorize your face, this time in the privacy of the train car rather than watching a more deserving Five hold you close.
He wanted to save the world for you. So you could be happy. Yet there was a lingering part of him that wished the world would cease to exist, knowing there was no chance you’d be happy with him ever again.
You felt his gaze on you burning your cheeks. It felt like ages since he had looked at you with such care.
You had always known how much he loved you. Even though public displays of affection were quite rare he had always made you feel seen and heard. You were life partners. You did everything together, you shared everything with the other. You thought you were so lucky to find such a soulmate, believing the two of you being the only people in the world left alive was such a test of fate that there wasn’t a doubt in the universe your names were written in the stars.
You were so sure. So confident and secure.
Yet, you were also sure he would’ve never considered breaking your heart the way he did today. He would’ve never considered Lila of all people.
Your head throbbed from the confusion and the flickering lights from above. You were so tired from dealing with the Cleanse, Reginald, Jean and Gene. You wondered if you’d ever catch a break.
You thought you already had. Six years of domestic bliss which included sharing an apartment with your lover and frequent date nights. You thought you finally got the rest you both deserved after years of endless struggle for survival.
You let out a breath you didn’t realize was trapped in your lungs as you sat up straight and met his stare.
He didn’t say a word so you decided to speak the only one that was on your mind.
“Why?”
His jaw tensed as he tried to find the words. He had been trying to justify himself to you in his head ever since the moment he kissed Lila in that greenhouse, yet now it was hard for him to come up with an explanation.
After a moment, he spoke, “I didn’t think we’d make it back.”
Your eyes narrowed, “You were gone for 7 years Five. You mean to tell me you just gave up?”
“I,” he cut himself off, not wanting to admit his first instinct of a response.
“You what?” you pressured.
“I wanted to stay.”
He looked down at the grimy floor which contrasted with the shine of his dress shoes. You felt as if barbed wire was slowly being pulled around your throat as you held back tears. He didn’t seriously just admit that to your face. He couldn’t have. The Five you grew old with would never have done this to you. After visiting the deli, you knew those Five’s had given up on their timelines, but their reason was that they lost you. They lost their spark that ignited their call to action. They lost their love, the one person who kept them strong enough to endure hell just to save the world for.
You were speechless.
Luckily the train slowly came to a screeching stop at your timeline. An unintelligible announcement was made in the overhead speakers as you rushed to stand up and make your way out the train.
Your Five didn’t immediately follow you. He hung his head and sat for a few seconds before slipping through the closing doors.
You quickly made your way through the dimly lit station as Five jogged to catch up with you. He took your arm and blinked you up both to the academy in a flash of pink light.
He let go of your arm as you took a pause to calm your dizziness. You had gotten used to his old blink fairly quickly but this new power messed with your head which already suffered an ache.
The group quickly acknowledged your presence as the two of you walked into the living room where they were all consulting with each other. Lila’s family and Claire were huddled closeby.
Five immediately greets Lila as she whispers his name in return. You side-eye them with a scoff, hoping to get this done as soon as possible so you never have to see them again.
With his hands on his hips, Luther says, “Why’d you two come back? Things are pretty bleak here.”
“Trust me, we weren’t planning on it,” Five explains.
You step in, “Fortunately, we had a very informative conversation with an alternate version of him which led us to form a plan that could stop all of this.”
You began explaining everything to them. You told them that the marigold inside each of you was what caused the destruction of the timeline and how the timelines were bleeding into each other which provided evidence for those like Jean and Gene to believe in the Umbrella effect. You explained that if Viktor could remove the marigold from you all and combine it with the durango inside the Cleanse, the timeline would go back to its original, unbroken state.
Viktor interrupted your explanation, “That would work, but I’m not entirely sure I have enough power to do that.”
“I can help,” Lila stepped in, “I’ll copy your power.”
“What happens if they can’t get the marigolds out of us?” Klaus questioned.
“We will have to merge with the Cleanse with the marigold still inside us,” Five paused before continuing, “which will make us cease to exist.”
Klaus didn’t exactly like this answer as he responded, “Old Klaus might have been down for some recreational hara-kiri, but it turns out that I’m really not into killing myself.”
Five explained that if Viktor didn’t remove our marigold and you all had to merge with the Cleanse then none of you would have ever existed, erasing you all from history and the memories of your loved ones.
They group went silent, tearing up at the thought of that fate.
“Okay,” Viktor said firmly, not wanting to think about that outcome, “Let’s do this before the Cleanse finds us.”
Him and Lila met in the center of the room, chests and eyes glowing as they brought forth their powers. The rest of you met around them, preparing yourself for the extraction.
A glow of orange and blue lights illuminated the room as they began to swirl around all of you, whirring by your ears as they surrounded your body. You could feel the power rushing through you, feeling similarly to doing a cannonball in a hot tub: an initial burn from the impact but soothing more and more as you relax. Your eyes were squeezed tight as you felt a pressure lift from your chest. Before you know it, the wind has stopped and the lights that shined past your eyelids had left, returning your sight to eigengrau.
You opened your eyes to find your marigolds huddled together, swirling in a warm glow which resembled fireflies on a summer night.
“What do we do now?” Luther let out.
Five put his hands in his pockets as he responded, “We wait.”
Everyone avoided contact with the marigolds as they left the living room. Allison returned to Claire and Lila made her way to her family who engulfed her in a loving hug.
You watched them have their moments. You were glad Lila had such a loving family after living under the Handler’s manipulation for so long, yet you wondered how it would be now that Five had homewrecked her relationship with Diego. How would this situation affect their kids? Would they see their mom any differently?
You didn’t realize someone was watching you as you contemplated your inner monologue until your shoulders were turned and a pair of arms were wrapped around you. You refocused your eyes as you looked up to see Diego, understanding he must feel the same pain, wondering what would become of the family he’s made over the last six years. You brought your arms up to return his hug as your squeezed your eyes shut as a dam to not allow any tears to pass through.
A crumbling noise grew louder and louder as you two broke apart. An orange hue penetrated through the makeshift curtains as Klaus went up to the window to peel them back, allowing you all to see the Cleanse was destructively making its way towards the marigolds.
Five’s face hardened as he watched the monster grow nearer. He turned to Lila and held her arms, instructing her to take her family and Claire into the subway until the Cleanse took the marigolds to ensure their safety. She looked into his eyes and nodded before breaking away to round everyone up and mimic his power, blinking them away.
The rest of you took cover as the Cleanse broke through the windows and entered the academy. You watched as it reached out and collected the bundle of marigolds, letting out a fearsome screech and glowing brighter. The light became so intense it was all you could see until you blacked out.
You awoke on the floor of the academy, your face sticking to the shining tiles. As you sat up, you noticed everything was pristine, unlike the abandoned academy you were just occupying. Sunlight shone through the windows as you looked around, noticing all the others adjusting to the light and new surroundings. You all looked around, thankfully seeing no sign of the Cleanse. No destruction. No glow.
As you all stood up, Five rounded you together as he blinked everyone into the subway.
Allison immediately ran over to Claire, crying happily as she held her daughter. Lila and her children ran over to Diego, tackling him with a loving hug. You saw Five in the corner of your eye, looking on at the scene with a stone face yet with hurt in his eyes.
As the family regrouped, you remembered what the offer that waited for you back at the deli. You remembered the Five who was waiting for you to save the world so he could see you once again. You ran between Klaus and Luther as you made your way towards a train that was waiting to take you back to Max’s Delicatessen. You never looked back as you boarded and sat down. Surely you’d see them again, but you didn’t want to watch your Five look like a lost puppy following Lila any longer.
You wanted to find a certain Five that reminded you of your husband before he got stuck in the subway. A Five who had his eye on your and only you. Luckily, you had already found one.
You didn’t even wait for the train to fully come to a stop as you jumped up from your seat and anxiously waited in front of the door for it to open. Once it did you bolted through the station to the stairwell that led to the deli. As you ascended, you didn’t see the warm, welcoming glow.
You stopped in front of the deli, dropping your shoulders as you lost all hope.
The space where the deli once occupied was gone. In its place was a wall of tile. You finally let the tears you had been holding all day stream down your face as you realized your mistake.
Saving the world meant saving the original timeline, the timeline where the only Five Hargreeves that exists is the one that broke your heart.
☕︎
bonus ending cause i can:
You dropped to your knees as the weight of everything that’s happened crashed upon you, and the fear of not knowing what to do next ate up rational.
A whoosh was heard from behind you, echoing off the tile surrounding you. The last thing you wanted at this moment was the comfort of your Five. You didn’t want him anywhere near you, yet you wanted him to see how miserable his stupid delusions and actions made you. As you turned your face to look at him with a teary face, you saw Five standing there, making no move toward you.
You wanted to berate him until you looked closer, there was something different about him.
You couldn’t point it out until he smiled slightly and said, “You saved the world.”
A look of shock painted your face until your tears flooded back, this time of utter happiness as you ran into his chest, his arms enveloping you, his chin on your head. You didn’t question how this could even be possible, what this meant for the timeline, you got just what you wanted.
☕︎

part one. part two.
summary: after you discovered a deli full of alternate versions of your cheating husband, you realize they would never hurt you the way he did. once he finds you getting comfortable with another version of him, you'll have to work together to figure out how to save the world.
authors note: thank you so much for all the notes on part one! i appreciate it so much since i thought no one would ever see it. here's the highly requested part two, enjoy!
Tumblr media
You could tell it was him right away. Your Five had burst into the deli like he was crashing a wedding. When you walked in, every Five had a look of awe displayed across his face, but now that look was replaced with anger and disappointment.
You could tell Five had shrunk a bit under the gaze of his counterparts yet he firmly walked over to the booth where you were sitting with the new Five that you had been talking to. He had a shameful look in his eye yet held a stoic visage. Glancing down at your gentle hands still firmly held in the palms of the other Five, his eyebrows furrowed as he looked between the two of you.
“What- what is this?” He scoffed in an annoyed manner, like he couldn’t believe what he was seeing yet somehow he knew exactly what was happening.
The Five across from you gently released your hands as his eye twitched and he stood up and faced your Five. Even though they were both exactly the same height, you could tell they were challenging each other by standing up a little straighter, your Five standing slightly on his toes.
New Five had an angry clench in his jaw yet held a slight smirk. He addressed your Five in a low tone, “You must be a fluke if you think you can just apologize and win her back because there’s not a single Five in this room that would hurt her the way you did.”
You looked up at the two of them from your seat in the booth. You hadn’t mentioned how your Five had hurt you, what he’d done to lose you. How could this Five have known? Still however, you appreciated his defense. You had always thought it’d be pathetic to see two guys fight over you, but to see two versions of the same man, one who has hurt and wronged you and the other who holds an unconditional and undying love for you, it ignited a spark in you that you thought you’d never feel again in your existence.
Existence.
Once the new Five finished his sentence you could see the offense on your Five’s face as he prepared a rebuttal but you shut that down quickly.
“Enough,” you held a hand out as if to break the aggressive tension between them, “this is irrelevant. We need to discuss a plan.”
Your Five took this as an opportunity to occupy the seat next to you in the booth but new Five beat him to it by pulling him back by the arm and sliding in next to you, as well as placing a hand on your thigh.
Your Five was taken aback by the action yet quickly regained his composure as he settled into the seat across from the two of you.
Waiter Five stopped by once again to drop off another mug of coffee for your Five as well as to top of your mug and Five’s. You thanked him and took a sip as he waltzed away with a wink. You watched as your Five took a sip from his mug which he immediately spit back out. The deli of Fives erupted in laughter as both you and your Five looked around confused.
The Five sitting next to you whispered an explanation in your ear, stating that Waiter Five had poured a couple of salt packets into his coffee rather than sugar. You grinned and hid your laugh in the shoulder of the Five next to you, him still facing you, your foreheads nearly touching. Your Five watched with a heartache as he dabbed his mouth with a napkin and set it back down on the table.
The laughter had mostly died down, excluding a very sloshed and disheveled looking Five who continued to chuckle and hiccup while leaning against a door.
You were still leaning slightly onto the Five next to you as he spoke, “So I take it you figured out the subway system by now”
“Alternate versions of the same moment in time?” Five asked.
“Correct,” the other Five responded, “We’re all you from alternate timelines. Most of us here have given up on trying to fix the broken timeline.”
Your Five listened with a befuddled look on his face and before he could question the words of the Five before him, you piped up an explanation, “It’s us who shattered the original timeline.”
“Thank you, dear,” said the Five next to you as he brought an arm around your shoulder. You couldn’t tell if he was being this affectionate because he really missed his y/n or because he could see how badly it was ticking your Five off but either way you wanted to play along, leaning into his affection.
He broke your gentle eye contact to once again address the Five glaring at you both.
“The timeline was shattered the moment we came into existence, leaving us with an infinite number of alternate timelines in an infinite loop of trying to save the world,” he said in a tired voice.
You took a moment to really look at him, he looked so exhausted.
So did your timeline’s Five.
So did Drunk Five, Waiter Five, and Brisket Five.
Sure they looked content in the deli, as it was their place to escape, but the tired looks in their eyes really showed how hard they had tried and how worn out it made them.
You didn’t realize it but you were staring so deeply into the eyes of your timeline’s Five. With such a soft look he thought would never come his way again. You felt sorry for him. You really did but there is nothing that could excuse everything he did. Nothing could excuse the betrayal and heartbreak he caused you. That was his fault and he would have to deal with every ounce of guilt and shame that accompanied him in his downfall.
His eyes met yours, the green shining with sorrow as he attempted to convey all his feelings through his irises. You both knew your relationship would never be the same, even if you survived the Cleanse. There was just too much that couldn’t be undone.
You broke the connection first, turning away to look at the tiled floor of the deli instead.
Your Five continued to look at you.
Your eyes. Your hair.
He never could’ve loved Lila like he loved you, how could he have thrown you away so easily?
His love for you was what kept his fire burning all these years. His love for you ignited his passion for saving the world,  just so you could live safely.
Just so you could live without surviving on cockroaches or the roof of a crumbling library.
Just so you could live without having to kill in fear of being killed.
Just so you could live a happy and comfortable life, even if it no longer meant a life with him.
You clenched your jaw in thought before turning to the Five next to you, “What can we do? I mean, there has to be a way out of this.”
He looked at you with an answer he was sure you wouldn’t like, “The only way this cycle will end is if you cease to exist. You have to let the marigold combine with the durango in the Cleanse.”
You raised a brow, “Just the marigold?”
Five looked at you confused, “Yes, the marigold infected our mothers the moment the timeline was shattered.”
“So it’s not actually us that’s the problem?” You waved your finger in a circle, gesturing to yourself, Five, and his absent siblings.
“Technically not,” Five confirmed.
You leaned back into the seat as Five returned his arm to his side. You bit your lip as you tried to remember anything that might help you come up with a plan, then it hit you.
Viktor.
You remember how he told everyone that when he lived on the farm back in Dallas, he saved Harlan, the little boy who drowned in the lake, by giving him some of his marigold.
You also remembered that he was able to take away the marigold in the barn, and whatever was left back at Hotel Obsidian.
You lifted your head, your eyes bright as the idea swirled in your mind.
You brought your hands onto the table, finding that you explain best with random hand motions, “What about Viktor, he could absorb our marigolds and transfer out his own into the Cleanse. That way the marigold and durango meet but we won’t have to die, we just won’t have our powers again.”
Both Fives were silent for a moment as they contemplated your plan. The Five next to you was the first to react by holding your face in his palms and planting a kiss between your brows. “Darling,” he admired, “You’re an absolute genius.”
Your timeline’s Five frowned in disagreement and jealousy, “What about Ben? If we combine our marigold with the Cleanse then he’ll die in there.”
“That Ben was an asshole anyway,” you shrugged, honestly not caring since he was the reason you were in this dilemma in the first place.
He hummed in agreement, not able to argue with you on that. He stood up and so did the other Five so he could let you out of the booth.
Your Five didn’t want to hang around for goodbyes, you had come up with a plan and that was that. He grabbed your arm and tugged you towards the door. The other Five quickly grabbed your other arm to hold you in place.
“Once this is all over, don’t go back to him. There are plenty of Fives here who will treat you so much better,” he winked at you as cheers of agreement ensued across the deli.
A blush came across your face as you looked around at the hopeful smiles of every Five in the room.
Maybe you didn’t have to stop loving Five.
You just had to let go of one.
You slightly nodded and winked back at Five as he let go of your arm, letting your Five tug you back towards the subway with an upset stomp. Looking back with a little wave, you walked out as Drunk Five yelled, “Auf wiedersehen!”

𝒂𝒄𝒓𝒐𝒔𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒆
five hargreeves x reader
word count: 1.7k
part one. part two.
summary: after discovering your husband cheated on you with his brother's wife, you run off to a different timeline using the subway, only to find a deli crowded with a familiar face.
author's note: this is my first fic that i'm actually posting lol, if anyone sees this i'll be totally shocked
Tumblr media
“Just leave me alone, Five.”
You were speed walking down the steps into what looked like an abandoned subway, desperately trying to avoid the man you thought you knew, who was currently right on your tail.
“Not until you talk to me, y/n,” he pleaded, swiftly trying to catch up.
“There’s nothing to discuss, Five,” you said in a cold manner.
You just couldn’t speak to him. Not after what just happened in the living room with him and Diego. After what was just brought to light.
You wanted to laugh, you really did, but you just couldn’t bring yourself to do so.
Why would you hear him out? Why would he believe he had a right to explain himself? How could he? A marriage of over half a century, down the drain. And for what?
Seven years with her.
Lila.
His brother’s wife. The mother of his brother’s children. The child of the couple he assassinated.
It made no sense.
You angrily sped up and quickly got onto the train that was stopped at the station. It’s white light making you more stressed than you already were.
The doors shut in his face. Just a couple more seconds and he would’ve been on this train. You would’ve been stuck having to hear him try and save face until the next stop.
Sometimes the universe lets you win.
But why not this time.
You stared at him through the window of the subway car doors. He looked at you pleadingly. You looked at him disappointedly.
Who was he, because he sure as hell wasn’t the Five you had known since you were thirteen years old. Stuck in the apocalypse with nothing but ashes and him.
You had thought it was fate. You and him were meant to be stuck together, meant to be there for each other. Even after everything that’s happened. Apocalypse after apocalypse after apocalypse.
The subway started to move. You stayed standing, staring at him with daggers in your eyes until he was out of sight. He didn’t chase after the car, he knew it was pointless. He knew he’d never get you back. He didn’t deserve you.
Once the outside of the train was completely dark and all you could see was your own reflection in the window, you turned and took a seat. Hands in your lap, looked straight ahead, drained.
What were you supposed to do now? Where would you go?
Maybe this train would take you to a universe with a Five that could never dream of betraying you the way your own did.
The lights shone over you as you were deep in thought. You had no idea where this train would take you, when it would take you.
Suddenly, the car slowed to a gradual stop and the doors opened. You wanted to stay on, maybe pass by hundreds of stops until you actually got off the train but you heard footsteps passing by the station.
Something in the back of your mind told you to get off at this stop, that you would find something important.
You stood and slipped through the doors. As soon as you turned your head to scan your surroundings, that’s when you saw him.
How could he have gotten here before you?
Five was casually walking towards a set of stairs when he saw you and stopped in his tracks.
You glared and felt a flame arise in you as you stomped over to him.
“I told you to leave me alone, Five. What the hell are you doing here?” you pointed an angry, accusatory finger in his face but he just grabbed your hand and gently held it in his.
You were confused, he seemed different. Less guilty. More sentimental.
Your anger faltered as he stared into your eyes with an admiration you were already starting to miss.
“y/n,” he said sincerely, “it’s been so long.”
Of course he wasn’t your Five. You had just jumped onto a multi-dimensional subway for Christ’s sake.
“Come on, follow me,” he said as guided you towards a stairwell.
As you descended and turned a corner, warm glowing lights filled your sight. A warming, comforting sense of nostalgia flooded your senses. You looked up and read the lights on the sign, Max’s Delicatessen, as the Five you stumbled across led you inside. The sound of a familiar vintage tune filled your ears.
Immediately, you felt all eyes travel to your frame. Every single pupil in this room belonged to a Five. The man you never wanted to see again. Each one of them looked at you with a shocked and astounded expression.
The Five still holding your hand paid no attention and directed you into a booth seat.
As you sat down, you took in your surroundings. The Fives behind the counter preparing food, the Fives taking orders, the Five delivering food, the Fives whispering at tables.
There were so many of them, what was this place?
The Five sitting across from you looks in your eyes with a knowing look.
“It’s not often we get one of you around here.”
You shake out of your confused thoughts and reply, “And what exactly is this place?”
Before you can get a reply, a waiter Five comes up to the table and places two mugs of coffee in front of you and Five. Before he leaves, he places a couple cups of creamer and packets of sugar next to your mug.
Without answering your question, the Five in front of you smiles and says, “We keep those in the kitchen and not on the tables since it’s really rare to see you.”
You give him an annoyed look.
“Can you explain to me what’s going on?”
“Right,” he sat up a little straighter and took a sip of his coffee. “You hopped on a subway that took you to an alternate timeline. That timeline just so happens to hold a place where us Fives come after we’ve stopped trying to fix the problem.” He largely gestured to the room full of alternate versions of your husband. Ex husband.
You stared at him for a few seconds, your brain rattled with questions, before you spoke.
“Stopped trying? You mean trying to save the world?”
“Stopped trying to fix the broken timeline,” he replied matter-of-factly.
“The broken timeline?” you repeated in confusion.
“There’s only supposed to be one, and I’ll bet you can guess who shattered the original timeline.”
Before you could reply, you heard a bell as another Five yelled out, “We did.”
Five made a disapproving yet knowing face as he called back, “Why you always gotta wreck shit, Brisket Five?”
Brisket Five shrugged at him then winked at you before returning back to his work.
“Okay . .” you started, trying to come up with the right questions, “So, our existence is the cause of the broken timeline. Is that why there’s constantly an apocalypse?”
“Precisely,” Five responds, before gesturing to the framed pictures on the wall. “By the way, check out the artwork. All the different ways we made our universe go kaboom.”
You stare at the photographs on the wall, noticing both familiar doomsday and entirely unique ones. Once your eyes reach a certain point along the wall you notice some framed images of you. Different photos of you and Five, living your lives together throughout the timelines.
The Five across from you notices your curious glimpse.
“I mentioned we don’t often see you around here,” he explains. “It’s because it’s rare that you survive your timeline.”
You quickly turned back to him in response to his statement. You don’t survive? How many of the Fives in this room have lost their y/n? Has the Five in front of you lost his?
“What do you mean?”
“You and I will always meet, in every timeline throughout the universe. It just seems that fate doesn’t always take our side,” he says solemnly as he looks down at his mug.
A Five piped up from the booth behind you, “My y/n was killed by the Swedes back in Dallas.”
Another from a couple tables away said, “Mine died in the apocalypse, but we had a good thirty years together.”
The Five in front of you looked up at you and said, “In my timeline, the Handler shot you and you died in my arms. I’m sorry I couldn’t save you.”
He gave you such a genuine look. Like he’s felt shame and guilt for so long, his apology was heartbreaking. How could these Fives care so much about you, while your Five forgot all about you.
“It’s okay,” you looked at him truthfully and took his hand in your, “I’m sure none of your y/ns would ever blame you for their fate, but they would for giving up. They’d want you to keep going, stay strong and do what it takes to save your family and the world. That’s what they loved most about you.”
You felt bad placing blame on him but you didn’t understand how the man who has spent his whole life prioritizing the safety of his family and overcoming countless obstacles and stopping at nothing to save his family could just give up. Sure it was tiring, but that was the life the two of you lived, together.
He smiled at you so lovingly it crumbled your heart.
“Y/n, the doomsdays will never stop coming. The only way to end this constant cycle of saving and destroying the world is if our family ceases to exist.”
Your heart slowed its beating as you stared at your interlocked hands, contemplating.
You hated to admit it but he made sense. Whenever your family is all together, everything goes to shit. People always die and the world will always end.
Before you could respond, you heard the door swing open and a tense tone fell over the deli.
The Five across from you held your hands a bit tighter as he glanced up at the Five that had rushed in.
Your Five.

A Strand of Silver
Five Hargreeves x Fem!reader
Warnings: none
Tumblr media
Y/n Hargreeves was having one of those mornings. You know the type: spilled coffee, mismatched socks, and the eternal struggle to find her keys. As she rushed into the bathroom to get ready for the day, she caught a glimpse of herself in the mirror. Normally, she didn’t scrutinize her reflection too much, but today, something shiny caught her eye.
“Wait, what?” Y/n muttered, leaning closer to the mirror.
There, in the midst of her hair, was a single, unmistakable strand of silver. She plucked it out and held it up to the light, squinting at it as if it were some foreign object.
“Oh, no,” she groaned, her voice tinged with melodrama. “I’m turning into my mother!”
Just as Y/n was contemplating her impending transformation into a full-fledged silver fox, Five Hargreeves walked into the bathroom, his shirt half-tucked and his tie in a state of disarray.
“Why do you look like you’ve seen a ghost?” he asked, eyebrow arched in amusement.
Y/n turned to him, holding up the gray hair as if it were evidence of a crime. “Look at this!” she said, her tone a mix of shock and horror. “Gray hair! I’m only 35!”
Five peered at the hair, then back at Y/n, a smirk spreading across his face. “Welcome to the club, darling. Want me to dye mine gray so we can match?”
Y/n glared at him, though her lips twitched in a reluctant smile. “It’s not funny, Five. I thought I had more time before this started happening.”
Five leaned against the doorframe, crossing his arms. “Oh, it’s hilarious. You’re acting like this is the end of the world.”
Y/n huffed, tossing the gray hair into the sink. “You’re supposed to be supportive, not laugh at me.”
Five’s smirk softened into a genuine smile. “I am supportive. I support the fact that you’re still gorgeous, gray hair and all.”
Their playful banter was interrupted by a loud crash from the kitchen, followed by a muffled “Sorry!” Y/n sighed, recognizing the chaos as her brother-in-law Klaus’s doing.
“Maybe I should just let my hair go completely gray,” she muttered, “and scare the life out of Klaus.”
Five laughed, stepping closer to her. “Klaus would probably think it’s cool and start a new trend.”
Y/n rolled her eyes, but she couldn’t help but laugh, too. “Yeah, you’re probably right.”
Five wrapped his arms around her, pulling her into a hug. “Listen, I love you, gray hair and all. Actually, it’s kind of sexy. Makes you look distinguished.”
Y/n snorted, leaning into him. “You’re such a liar.”
“Nope, just a man with great taste,” Five replied, kissing the top of her head.
As they headed into the kitchen to see what chaos awaited them, Y/n tried to push the gray hair out of her mind. It was just one strand, after all. How bad could it be?
Klaus, Luther, and Diego were in the middle of a heated debate over who had the best waffle recipe when Five and Y/n entered the kitchen. Luther was holding a spatula like a weapon, and Klaus was dramatically waving a bottle of syrup around.
“Hey, guys,” Y/n said, trying to sound casual. “Do you think gray hair makes me look older?”
The room went silent as all eyes turned to her. Luther looked thoughtful, Diego just shrugged, and Klaus... well, Klaus being Klaus, decided to take it to the next level.
“Oh, honey,” Klaus said, rushing over to examine Y/n’s hair, “I think it makes you look even more fabulous. Very... royal. Like a queen!”
“Like the Queen of England,” Diego added with a smirk, earning a punch on the arm from Luther.
Five burst out laughing, shaking his head. “You see, Y/n? Nothing to worry about. You’ve got the whole royal approval right here.”
Y/n shook her head, trying not to laugh. “I’m going to regret asking, aren’t I?”
Later that evening, when the chaos had settled and they were alone again, Five and Y/n found themselves back in the bathroom. Y/n was brushing her teeth, and Five was leaning against the counter, watching her with a soft smile.
“You know,” he said, his voice thoughtful, “I used to think that life was all about big moments. Saving the world, traveling through time, stopping apocalypses.”
Y/n looked at him through the mirror, raising an eyebrow. “And now?”
“Now I know it’s about the little things,” Five continued. “Like finding a gray hair and freaking out about it. Or laughing about it with you.”
Y/n rinsed her mouth and turned to face him. “You’re surprisingly sentimental tonight.”
Five shrugged, pulling her into a gentle embrace. “Just thinking about how much I love you. And how that won’t change, no matter how many gray hairs you find.”
Y/n wrapped her arms around his neck, her heart swelling with affection. “I love you, too, Five. Even if you laugh at my gray hair.”
Five chuckled, pressing a kiss to her forehead. “Deal. Now, how about we find that hair dye, just in case?”
Y/n laughed, swatting his arm. “You’re incorrigible.”
“Guilty as charged,” Five said with a grin. “But you wouldn’t have me any other way.”
Y/n smiled, leaning up to kiss him. “No, I wouldn’t. Now, let’s get to bed before Klaus decides to redecorate the kitchen again.”
With that, they headed to their bedroom, their laughter echoing through the house. It had been a day full of surprises and laughter, and as they curled up together, Y/n knew that no matter what the future held, she could face it all with Five by her side

Hello, I just wanted to let you know the status of this blog. First off, I will be making one last work before I stop writing. My disability is making it hard for me to write in general, so I will be gone for a long time. When will I come back? Who knows, since I will be dealing with medical stuff during my time of leave. Thank you for your support! Take care and have a great day!

hello, I would like to make a request, a story based on the last episode of yours, Five talking to another Five in the final conversation and they talk about his wife and Canon Five doesn't have one, thanks if you want
a/n: i absolutely loved writing this ty for sending this in ! <3
warnings: language, slight angst, spoilers
summary: Five discovers his missing piece
Tumblr media
When Five stumbled into Max’s and came across an entire diner full of alternate versions of himself, about a million different questions raced through his mind. However, the most pressing issue he found himself wanting to address was the context behind the lovingly placed portrait of a woman on the wall.
“Who’s the girl?” He asks his counterpart, his eyes remaining glued to the painting. The woman’s smile was gentle, her eyes kind, and her face the most beautiful he’d ever seen. He almost felt drawn to it in a way, as if there was some type of magnetic pull gravitating his focus to her and only her. It was like seeing a ghost or a familiar face from a dream that you’re not quite able to place.
“Don’t you recognize her?” The other Five retorts perplexed, confusion clearly etched on his features. “That’s y/n.”
“Can’t say I’m familiar,” the Boy confesses with an apologetic sigh as he finally pulls his attention away from the painting and sets it back to the Five in front of him.
“No wonder you’re such a mess,” server Five notes with a diverted smile as he tops off their coffee. Calling over his shoulder, he announces to all Fives, “The poor bastard doesn’t have a y/n.”
Murmurs of surprise and astonished laughter fill the cafe at the news, prompting Five’s face to heat in embarrassment at being the butt of a joke he has no grasp of. What do these Fives know that he doesn’t?
“Could you please be so kind as to fill me in on who this y/n is,” he requests agitatedly through gritted teeth. Reaching into his pocket, his counterpart pulls out a weathered photograph and slides it across the table for Five to see.
“Y/n is the missing piece that completes every Five. We all meet her in different ways at different points of our lives, but every time she manages to anchor us back down to earth. Y/n is the glue that holds us together when everything goes to shit. She believes in us, sees the humanity in us despite the horrors we’ve seen and the atrocities we’ve committed. She gives us unconditional love even when we think we don’t need it, when we think it couldn’t possibly exist.”
As Fives look down at the photo before him, he sees himself- or rather, another version of himself- enveloping y/n in his arms. They stand in front of a beautiful home with a picket white fence and a garden full of flowers smiling with pure bliss. It’s clear that the woman loved this version of him by the adoring look in her eyes, and it’s even clearer that she meant everything to the Five sitting across from him.
“She means something different to each of us, but I was one of the Five’s lucky enough to make her my wife,” his companion notes with an evocative smile. “That photo was taken on our honeymoon.
“Where is she now?” Five asks somberly after handing back the photograph.
“Dead,” he replies quietly, releasing a mournful sigh as he sinks back into the booth. “Lost her in an accident while I was trying to stop the apocalypse for a third time. That’s when I decided it was time to hang in the towel.”
“I’m sorry about that.”
“We had a good run together, I wouldn’t change any of it,” the replica admits with a reminiscent smile. He takes another look at the photo, committing it to memory before handing it back to Five. “I think you need this more than I do. You may not have had the chance to know your y/n, but judging by the look on your face when you spotted the portrait I have a good feeling you would have loved her just the same.”
Gingerly taking the photograph back, Five stops to admire her gentle features and adoring smile before tucking it safely into the pocket of his suit. “Thank you.”
“You know what you have to do to fix the timelines,” the other Five firmly instructs him. “Just promise me you’ll do by right by my wife. She deserves a safe timeline to live in, one where she can grow old and be happy.”
Rising from his seat at the booth, Five takes one last longing look at the portrait on the wall before returning his gaze to the boy in front of him.
“You have my word.”

never changing [ five hargreeves x reader ]
a/n: hi y’all! it’s been a hot minute since i’ve been on here, but after the absolute shit show that season 4 was, some sparks ignited in me to write up anything to take my mind off it 🙌
its not anything crazy, just fluff and banter since i haven’t written anything in years so it may be as poorly redacted as this season lmao
summary: five and y/n attend their niece birthday party together, yet separate
Tumblr media
“Happy birthday, little Gracie!” You smiled widely, trying not to drop the wrapped present box as the six year old girl jumped into your arms, “Oh my gosh, look at you! You’re just getting prettier by day, aren’t you?”
You had just got off work in a hurry to make your appearance at the little girl’s birthday party at a decent time, in spite of the amount of paperwork you managed to bury yourself in lately. You knew how much it would have meant for the celebrated one to show up and you couldn’t bear to let her down, especially on her birthday.
After spending most of your life working for the Commission, and then a decent amount of time exhausting yourself in trying to stop multiple Apocalypses, your last six years have been pretty quiet as a lawyer. You really wanted to get out of the whole assassin thing, but at the same time couldn’t exactly move on from the thrill of the work field. Your career as a lawyer took off really well these past years, but inevitably it came along with the cost of always being stuck at work, so whenever your niece got the chance to see you, she was truly enthusiastic.
“Auntie Y/N!” She wrapped her tiny arms around your neck, engulfing you into a tight hug, “You are here!”
Nonetheless, these six years have been truly and undeniably the most peaceful time of your life for as long as you could remember.
“You literally saw each other the other day,” Five raised a brow, watching you and the celebrated one act as if you hadn’t seen each other in years.
You and the little girl shared a look, before rolling your eyes and turning to glare at the man next to you. Ever since Grace learned how to talk, you and her would gang up on her uncle for your amusement, especially since he was so keen on entertaining the banter.
These past six year have gone by in the blink of an eye, yet at the same time at a slow and steady pace. You spent most of your time working anyway, but still kept in touch with the seven siblings you’d grown to love.
Some in different ways than others.
“Uncle Five, you’re always more excited than me to see Aunt Y/N,” Gracie waved him off, making you burst out laughing, “Jealousy isn’t a good look on you anyway.”
“What is a good look on him anyway?” You smirked, making the little girl laugh, as Five swept her into his arms;
“Okay, munchkin, it’s your birthday today, but tomorrow I’m going back to bullying you,” He joked, causing you both to laugh, before the two shared a hug before you, “You’re lucky your gift has no return policy.”
The party had already started by the time you made it there. The playground was huddled by other kids around Grace’s age, along with their parents. The music was playing loudly over the laughter of children and you were pretty sure that most of the family had already arrived. It was not the most ideal gathering, but you tried your best to keep in touch with most of the family to your best capabilities.
“Y/N, I’m so glad you could make it!” Luther smiled, appearing from the crowd of guests, immediately giving you a big hug as his niece was still wrapped around Five, “Haven’t seen you since Thanksgiving!”
“Big shot lawyer doesn’t always have the time to stay in touch with family, huh?” Diego teased you, following suit, as you rolled your eyes, dropping off his daughter’s gift in his hands.
“Big shot delivery driver doesn’t know the phone works both ways, huh?” You smirked, putting your hands on your hips.
Diego laughed out loud as he gave you a hug, always in the mood for a back and forth short banter with you. After all, you truly were family, even if you didn’t always have the time to be present in the Hargreeves’ day to day lives. You may have met them in the original timeline in 2019, when you accidentally time traveled with your former partner at the Commission, Five, but after all you’ve been through, you didn’t need to have grown up together or be blood related to be considered that. And you truly were grateful for each and every single one of them, in spite of the many differences over the years.
After everything that’s happened six years ago at Hotel Oblivion, everyone went their separate ways. Allison was back with her daughter while trying to further her acting career and also help Klaus stay on the sober line, Viktor had moved to Canada where he opened a bar, Diego and Lila had three kids, Luther was “professionally dancing”, Ben had some run-ins with the law and Five, ironically enough, was working for the CIA.
“Well, you two are as annoying as always,” Ben told you and his brother, making Diego roll his eyes as he walked towards the gift table to set down your present.
“Please try to stay out of prison at least for the remainder of the year,” You joked with the man, making him roll his eyes as he hugged you loosely, “There’s only so much favors I could owe the DA.”
“Shut the fuck up,” Ben groaned, “I don’t even know why they let you work at the law firm since you still look like a prepubescent with no boobs. Even Five got a growth spurt.”
“I sized up to B recently, thank you very much,” You nudged his shoulder, before placing your hands on your chest in an offended manner.
“Okay, Gracie, not a conversation you’d wanna hear,” Five spoke up, putting his niece down, “Your aunt needs to learn some etiquette on how to act around children.”
“Funny coming from you,” You couldn’t help but wave him off.
You didn’t come in with Five at the party, but as fate had it, you did run into him as you were parking your car. He had just gone out to his brother’s dusty van to bring inside some more cookies for the guests. You kept in touch with him as well, but not as often as you would have liked. It’s not all that serious, but given the fact that you were a lawyer still climbing your way to the top and him being a top notch CIA agent, you didn’t exactly have the time to hang out.
At least, not as much as you’d have liked.
Five was watching you with a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips, and his hands in his pockets. He had the same look on his face as always when watching you. He had the same smile when he saw you in combat for the first time during your first mission for the Commission together, the same look in his eyes when you appeared for the first time in 2019 alongside him in your teen bodies. The same posture he had when he met you again in 1963 after months of not seeing each other.
He wore the same love on his face while looking at you when you and the siblings split up after the events at Oblivion.
And never once did you notice that.
Not once in these past six years you let your feelings surface.
“You know Grace is my niece too, right?” He couldn’t drop the small smile even if he wanted to.
“Since when are you such a family man?” You raised a brow, trying to keep a confident composure.
“Oh, something changed in me between the first and third time I traded the world for my siblings,” He lightly shrugged his shoulders, making you roll your eyes at the sarcastic remark.
You two never changed.
“Please, I was there for the twins birth,” You waved him off.
You rarely see Five, and even when you do you always try to act normal, as you do around the rest of the Hargreeves. Everyone tried to get you two together at first, since the apocalypse was over and there was no reason for you to not get together, right?
You really wished it was that easy. In hindsight, maybe it was. But you couldn’t take any chances in losing Five forever if something were to go wrong. Maybe some would see it as something stupid, or as if you wasted so many years, but to you- mentally, you were almost seventy, while physically nineteen. You had so much time ahead of you now, all that mattered was to get a stable career first.
Five let a chuckle escape, shaking his head in disbelief, as he looked at the floor for a couple of seconds. When he looked back at you, you tried to keep your composure. You couldn’t help but feel pathetic that after all these years, your heart still skipped a beat whenever he’d look at you.
“You’re doing that thing again where you forget that some other people are still around, guys,” Luther raised his hand, grabbing your attention once again.
“I got bored of watching seventy year old virgins,” Ben shrugged his shoulders, “I’m gonna go get shitfaced.”
“Always a delight seeing you, Benjamin,” Five said, as Luther followed the ex-tentacle boy suit to make re he was not about to actually get drunk;
“This is a six year old’s birthday party!”
You giggled, watching the two brothers speed away while arguing amongst the kids in the crowd. When your eyes laid back on Five, who was intently watching you, you couldn’t help but feel a small blush creep its way in your cheeks.
“What?”
“Nothing.”
“Spit it out, Hargreeves.”
“I said it’s nothing!”
“Fuck you.”
“Why?”
You watched him dumbfounded for a couple of seconds because of the only answer he could come up with, before walking away, hoping he would follow you.
When he did try to keep up with you, you looked away to hide the proud smile. Even after all these years, things were still the same with him. He was still so eager to spend time with you, he was still smiling at you and entertaining your conversation.
“Aunt Y/N, Uncle Five, come play in the ball pit!” Gracie ushered you from afar, already tucked in the plastic colorful balls.
“You heard the birthday girl!” You smiled, grabbing his hand to drag Five after you.
Even after all these years he would instantly lock his fingers with yours.

So Come One, Come All - Five Hargreeves X GN! Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: After you find out that your husband of 40 years cheated on you with his own brother’s wife, you give up on figuring out how to fix the apocalypse and run off. That’s when you’re lead to a suspicious deli full of the exact face you never wanted to see again.
Word count: 1647
Genre: Angst/Fluff
Warnings: Cheating, Heartbreak, Happy Ending, rushed writing, not beta read we die like men
Disclaimer: Five is canonically in the body of an 18 year old in this season. Not to mention he aged like 7 more years with Lila. Also, obvious Season 4 spoilers. This season was awful and Five was done so dirty and he’s still ooc in this fic (or at least a version of him is)
———————————————————————
You had no idea how long you had been walking for. All you knew was that you were tired.
Tired of everything. Of the constant apocalypses, the fighting, the stress, …the lying, the heartache. Everything.
You had to get away from that place. You couldn’t stand to be around anyone from that family anymore. Around…him.
You and Five have been married for forty years. You both met in the first apocalypse as teens. You weren’t special like him or his siblings but you were both grateful to have someone else around.
You slowly fell in love over the years as you grew older together. You had a makeshift marriage with a ring Five had made for you out of random bits of metal he had found.
You had both been recruited into the Commission together and quickly became the most badass couple in the entire organization. You were always put on missions together for your efficiency and speed.
You had followed Five back in time to see his family, consequently getting stuck in your younger body as well. You followed him everywhere. You would’ve given your life for him.
So, how could he do this to you?
Forty years, thrown away all because he supposedly got stuck for seven fucking years in a stupid timeline traveling subway station with another woman.
You wanted to kill him. He knew that you didn’t like how comfortable Lila was with him since the beginning and he had assured you he wasn’t interested in her at all and that you were all he wanted. What a load of bullshit that was.
You had left after their explanation. You saw the way he looked at her. The exact same way he used to look at you. For him at had been years since he last saw you. For you, it had only been a few hours since he last looked at you like you were the world.
You had slipped off the wedding ring and threw it at his face before leaving. You could hear him trying to get you to stay and try to follow you but he was stopped by Diego.
You were so lost in thought before you found yourself in front of the entrance to a subway station. This must be the one they were talking about. You looked behind you, making sure no one had followed you but also as a way to look back on this life.
If they were telling the truth about the timelines…then you weren’t going to be coming back to this one. Maybe there is a timeline where you’re happy. One where you and Five don’t meet. Or maybe one where none of this happens. Where you’re both a normal married couple.
You took a deep breath as you gazed down the steps. Once you took your first step down, you knew there was no going back.
As you descended the steps, the eerie silence unnerved you. You could hear only your footsteps on the ground and the squeaking of the turnstile as you pushed through it.
You were startled by the sound of the speakers playing some sort of announcement. It was impossible to understand considering it was all backwards.
Soon, the subway entered the station and came to a halt. The doors opened and you stood still, you were still a little creeped out. Five always made you feel more comfortable in situations like this…but he wasn’t here anymore.
You swallowed your unease and entered the subway car. You slowly took a seat and looked around before the doors closed and the subway started moving. You looked out the window as flashes of colour went by.
You were there for a couple minutes before you stopped. The doors opened but you didn’t get up. You weren’t sure if you wanted to get off yet. You wanted to be sure you were as far from the timeline you were just in as possible.
You felt something pull inside of you though. Something wanted you to get off and explore. So you did.
You let yourself be guided by this feeling deep inside. It was like your heart was pulling you somewhere.
It isn’t long until you end up in front of a building of some kind. Could you even call it that? You never left the station and it’s the only other place in here. Is it more of a building in a building? You didn’t want to think about it too much.
The words “Max’s Delicatessen” were shining brightly in your face. You were a little amused. Maybe you were hungry and it was actually your stomach bringing you here rather than your heart.
You sighed and decided to check it out.
But when you entered, you were horrified at what you saw.
The entire deli was full of copies of your (now ex) husband. This was the last thing you wanted to see and you internally cursed at your conscious for bringing you here.
You could feel your heartbeat pick up and your breathing become heavy as tears pricked at your eyes.
Finally, one of the Five’s had looked up and noticed you stuck in place at the door.
“Darling!” He shot up out of his seat, audibly hitting his knee on the table but he didn’t flinch.
Suddenly, every single Five in the place had his eyes on you, each with various emotions displayed on their face.
The Five that spotted you quickly made his way over to you. He lifted his shaking hands and held them over your cheeks, too scared to make contact in case you fade away.
You could see the disbelief and love in his eyes. This snapped you out of your confusion and slapped his hands away from you and backed yourself up into the door.
The Five in front of you looked confused and hurt before sighing and lowering his hands.
“Sorry…I forgot that you’re not the same one.” He apologized.
“What the FUCK is going on?” You exclaimed as you looked around to be met with all the Five’s still staring at you. “How did you get here? Why are there multiples of you? Why can’t you just leave me alone!”
“Woah, woah, slow down. Breathe. You’re okay. Everything’s fine.” The Five in front of you tried to calm you down. “You took the subway right? This is a different timeline. We’re all the same person from different timelines. Usually the only new people that enter here are a version of me…or…us I guess. You’re the only…well…you, that has shown up here.” He explained.
“What?” You looked at him like he was crazy.
“They should sit down.” Another Five had said.
“Come on, hun. Come sit down and we can talk.” He had reached out towards you, careful not to touch you while he guided you towards the opposite end of the booth he was previously at.
You sat down, still in shock. It felt weird being surrounded by so many Five’s. Especially when you were trying to get away from him.
“I guess I’ll start.” Five had sat down across from you and sighed.
“In my timeline, you and I had been together for years. We met at the Commission. At first we hated each other but we were always put on missions together. Over time…I had fallen for you, and luckily for me, you reciprocated those feelings. We were together romantically for years. We were on our last mission before our contract with the Commission ended. We were planning on getting married after and retiring somewhere nice. But…it went wrong…and I lost you. You died in my arms.” He looked off to the side and tried to play off wiping away his tears.
“I haven’t seen you in years. You’re just as beautiful as the day I lost you.” He reached a hand across the table and gently placed it on yours.
You teared up as you saw the pure love in his eyes. Your Five used to look at you like that and it still hurt knowing he no longer felt that way.
“If you’re here…then something must’ve happened to the Five in your timeline.” He rubbed his thumb on the back of your hand.
You stilled and took your hand back, making the Five in front of you frown.
You hugged your torso for comfort and curled in on yourself slightly as you looked down at the table.
“We were married for forty years…but he got stuck in the subway with Lila and…I guess forty years didn’t mean anything because in seven years he threw it all away for…her.” You hiccuped as you tried to hold back your tears.
There were multiple grumbles and scoffs around the deli.
The Five across from you reached across the table and held your shoulder gaining your attention.
“Everyone here had a version of you in their timeline. We all lost you in one way or another. I think I speak for all of us when I say…having you here is the best thing to happen to us, and he’s a complete idiot for throwing you away like that.” He smiled as he lightly caressed your cheek.
You smiled slightly at his words.
“Aww there’s that beautiful smile.” Five said as he lightly pinched your cheek.
You giggled and batted his hand away and wiped your tears away.
A sandwich and drink was placed in front of you and you looked up to another Five holding a now empty tray.
“Your favourite, just the way you like it.” He said as he gently grabbed your hand and placed a kiss on the back of it with a wink.
You blushed at the action and thanked him.
Even though you got on that train in order to get away from him…you don’t think you’ll be getting back on any time soon.
