It is said that Romy Schneider reprised her role as Sisi in the movie “Ludwig” (1973) because she would portray her as “mature” and “realistic”. But in the movie Sisi slaps Sophie Charlotte and acts childish. Do you believe this is “realistic”?

Hi anon! I love Romy's acting in that movie, but honestly I don't think it's an accurate portrayal of Elisabeth.

The "dark and mysterious" angle Visconti went with in the film matches more with Elisabeth's later years than with how she was during the 1860s, and I really hated the way she treated Sophie. I reality Elisabeth was furious at Ludwig for how he treated her sister, as this letter she wrote to her mother Ludovika shows:

Schönbrunn, October 19, 1867 How much both I and the Emperor are shocked about the King you can imagine. There is no expression for such behaviour. I cannot imagine how he can ever dare to show himself in Munich after all that has happened. I am glad that Sophie takes it all so quietly; she never would have been happy with such a man; I only wish twice as much now that she may at last find a good one. Who will it be?

Imo, portraying Elisabeth as caring more for Ludwig (whom she was fond of but had a rocky relationship nonetheless) than for her own sister is simply inaccurate. And I also hated that she also has a thing going on with Ludwig in the movie, like please just let Elisabeth have a relationship with a man without turning it into a romantic/sexual thing.

This is an unpopular opinion but when it comes to Ludwig's media, I much prefer the portrayal of Elisabeth by Hannah Herzsprung in Ludwig II (2012): Elisabeth is only friends with Ludwig and she stands up for Sophie when he breaks off the engagement. Now that is accurate.

I always wanted to do a Best Dressed vote and matching gif sets, and well now the time has come. I've decided to start with Elisabeth of Austria aka Sisi/Sissi because she is portrayed in so many adaptations in recent years.

Herbst-Skizzen (video)

Mit diesen Herbst-Skizzen, die mir einst GB Bowman aka Lady Aislinn gewidmet hat, möchte ich mein neues Grundthema auf diesem Blog eröffnen. Mein Schaffen wird sich natürlich nach wie vor mit der schönsten Essenz des Lebens, der Lyrik und Poesie befassen; aber auch um das folgende Thema kreisen:

Den Bayernkönig Ludwig II. —

der für mich das Inbild eines Monarchen der Schönheit darstellt. Auf Anregung meiner Vertrauten und Gleichgesinnten will ich dieses Grundmotiv mit den beiden wohl bekanntesten Darstellern von Ludwig II. und seiner Wesensverwandten Elisabeth von Österreich ausschmücken: Helmut Berger und Romy Schneider (oben im Bild).

Ich hoffe, ich kann dieses Ziel erreichen, und bedanke mich an dieser Stelle bei Aislinn, die mich stets ermuntert, niemals aufzugeben.

Házasság első látásra II/7: Az inasok dolga

Reni az előző részben szembesült vele, hogy a fasziján átment fél Paks.

Brumi reméli, hogy a felesége el tudja fogadni az elhasznált kukkendáréjával is.

A nő azt mondja, hogy lehet ha nem lennének a műsorban már lelépett volna. Mindenesetre emlékezteti magát arra, hogy milyen szép napott töltöttek együtt és megpróbálja feldolgozni, hogy a férje egy ribanc. A múlt a múlt, a jövő a jövő - zárja Peti. Másnap Reni 30. szülinapját ünnepli a pár. Kicsit aggódik, mert most először nem a családjával, hanem egy random faszival tölti ezt a napot, de azért optimista az eddigiek alapján.

A mai nap első programja egy kis hajókázás. A pár kiáll a hajó orrára és közben a Titanic zenéje szól. Nagyon romi. Brumi megkérdezi a nőt, hogy telik a szülinapja. Reni teljesen elégedett, azt mondja erre a napra emlékezni fog. Este még egy vacsora vár az ifjú párra. Peti felfedi, hogy egy kis meglepivel készült a nőnek.

Egy kártyát ad át, amin ő van egy bevásárlókocsival és egy felirat van rajta: A 30 éves Éned is hozzám jönne feleségül? A kép jelentősége pár résszel ezelőtt hangzott el: Reninek a romantikus álma azt volt, hogy ő az Aldi akciós részlegén tolja majd bele a kocsiját a nagy Őbe. A nő meghatódik és a kérdésre igennel felel.

Ám ez még semmi. Brumi videóüzeneteket vetetett fel a nő családjával és barátjaival, amit most átad neki. Miközben nézik ezeket, mindketten elérzékenyülnek és sírnak.

Másnap el kell dönteniük hogyan tovább. A játék szabályai szerint össze kell költözniük. A férfi kész elhagyni Paksot a nőért, amit Reni nagyon értékel és megígéri, hogy igyekszik minél kellemesebb környezetet teremteni a férfinek. Orsinak éppen Zoli énekel a medencében. A nő elárulja nekünk, hogy bár haladnak, úgy érzi, csak azért mert rá van kényszerítve a műsor miatt.

Másnap reggel Orsi fáradtan közli velünk, hogy a faszija megpróbált többször rámászni. Természetesen visszautasította, erre Zoli megkérte, hogy akkor menjen el sétálni, ameddig ő kiveri.

Miután a férfi végzett, a nő visszamegy a szobába. Zoli elmondja neki, hogy szuper volt a recskázás, de nem véletlenül, mert már évek óta gyakorolja ezt a művészetet.

Vincent megszakérti a jelenetet. Szerinte nem arról van szó, hogy Orsi nem dugná Zolit, hanem az a baj, hogy nem bízik benne. Szerinte a tűzoltónak arra kéne törekednie, hogy biztonságot adjon a feleségének.

Ezután quadozni mennek a fiatalok. Orsit már azelőtt felbassza a férje, mielőtt felszállnának rá, mert megint emelgetni próbálja. Azért nagy nehezen elindulnak, de a férfi már megint feszegeti a határokat. Folyamatosan ijesztgeti a nőt vezetés közben. Úgy néz ki Zoli örök recskázásra kárhoztatja magát.

Másnap az eddig együtt töltött időről beszélgetnek. Egyetértenek abban, hogy már többször mélypontra jutottak, de humorral sikerült átlendülni ezeken. Orsi eléggé feszeng az összeköltözéstől, de belemegy, mert már aláírta a szerződést. Judit reggel négykor ébreszti Szabit. Meglepetés programra viszi.

Jeremy rosszul fogadja az ébresztőt, mert éppen azt álmodta, hogy egy olyan országban él, ahol legális gyerekeknek fizetni a szexért. Nagy hiszti után elindulnak a partra, ahol két ló várja őket Szabi azt mondja nem tud lovagolni és láthatóan fél is az állattól, de a felesége kedvéért ráveszi magát.

A vágta közben beszélgetnek és Jeremy megjegyzi, hogy őt tegnap már meglovagolta Judit. Tesz még pár említést a tegnapi vágtáról és a nő nem győzi mondogatni neki, hogy kussoljon.

Ezután ebédelni mennek. Judit olaszul adja le a rendelést, amire Szabi egyből megjegyzi, hogy az exe ilyet nem tudott. A nőt felbassza, hogy már megint a csajszi a téma. Megkéri Jeremyt, hogy ne hasonlítgassa a nőhöz. Ezután Judit előveszi a telefonját, amire meg a férj csap le egyből. Tudni akarja ki írogat neki. A nő nem szarozik és megmutatja neki. Aztán azt mondja a faszinak, hogy nem fogja megmondani, hogy kivel beszélhet.

Szabi visszakozik, hogy ő nem tenne ilyet (de) és hozzáteszi, hogy bármikor megnézheti az ő telefonját a nő. Judit erre azt mondja neki, hogy akkor oldja fel, de Jeremynek csak a szája volt nagy. A nő egy ideges Szabolcs felkiáltással próbálja megrendszabályozni a férfit, aki erre azt mondja, hogy őt Mr. Szabinak kell szólítani, de erre Judit nem hajlandó.

Megérkezik a kaja és egyből jobb lesz a hangulat. Jeremy megjegyzi nekünk, hogy néha nehéz érezni hol a határ a csipkelődés és a véresen komoly vita között. Majd kialakul.

Ezután Jimmyre táncolnak a csöpögő esőben, ami Juditnak nagyon tetszik. Úgy érzi megtalálta az igazit a férfi személyében. Itt is felmerül a nászút végén az összeköltözés. Szabit érdekli, hogy áll Judit a házimunkához. A nő nem tart tőle, de szerinte ez az inasok dolga és fel kéne venniük rá egy embert. Marica és Zoli is korán kelnek ma. Egy röpke kis kirándulásra mennek.

A nő a gyerekeiről kérdezi a férjét. A fogorvos bevallja, hogy kicsit eltávolodott a kölyköktől, de az az újévi fogadalma, hogy jobban erőlteti ezt a vonalat. Kiderül, hogy a fia nagy Hearts of Iron játékos és együtt szokták tolni. Céljuk az Osztrák-Magyar Monarchia visszaállítása, de az új kiegészítővel ez még nehezebb lett, mint eddig. Marica egyetért ezzel és bevallja, hogy ő már downgradelt is annyira nem boldogult vele. Zolit nagyon megérinti, hogy ugyanazokkal a problémákkal küzdenek és elmondja nekünk, hogy ha patchelik a Götterdämmerungot és együtt visszaállítanák a monarchiát, akkor elgondolkodna a családalapításon. Végre három nőtől lehetne gyereke.

Kiülnek a partra és Zoli szeretné, ha csobbannának egyet, de Marica nem akar fürdőruhára vetkőzni. Azt mondja nem szereti mutogatni magát. Kiderül, hogy azért, mert az előző kapcsolataiban kapott pár csúnya megjegyzést. Zoli azt mondja nekünk, hogy erre figyelni fog.

Ezután felmásznak egy vulkánra. Marica úton felfelé nevelni kezdi a férjét. Azt mondja örülne, ha nem az ő törölközőjét használná, meg jó lenne, ha nem várná, hogy kiszolgálja, mert az az inasok dolga. Zolit ez egyáltalán nem bántja. Nekünk bevallja, hogy ő azt szereti, ha irányítják.

Másnap a medencében áztatják magukat és Marica megjegyzi, hogy Flow állapotba került a nyaralástól. Zoli felhozza, hogy a tegnapi vulkán túra közben volt egy kis konfliktus, amit még nem beszéltek meg, de Marica azt mondja nincs miről beszélni. A férfi szerint a nő éppen elfojtja a sérelmeit, ami hosszútávon nem lesz jó.

Felmerül itt is az összeköltözés. Azt beszélik meg, hogy Zolinál fognak lakni, bár Marica jobban szeretné, ha hozzá mennének. Nem mondja viszont, mert hatalmas konfliktuskerülésekbe van.

Rami és Miki még mindig elég hullámzóan viszonyul egymáshoz. A nő nehezen tudja követni a faszi hangulatingadozásait. Nekünk elmondja, hogy egyre kevesebb kedve van ehhez az egészhez.

Rami újra felhívja a lányát, hogy útmutatást kapjon tőle. Dorina azt mondja neki, hogy minden ember naponta 24 órával közelebb kerül a halálhoz. De egyik emberen sem látszik meg pontosan, hogy hány nappal került már közelebb halálához.

Mikinek közben már megint fáj a segge. Azt mondja elkapkodta ezt az egészet, mert még a nő kutyájának a nevét se tudja. Rami szerint a lányáét se tudta sokáig, ami trébb. A nő nem érti, hogy miért nem mondott akkor nemet az oltárnál? Miki bevallja, hogy azért mert jól néz ki. Raminak ez kurvára nem tetszik. Hozzáteszi, hogy nekik csapatként kéne működniük, de nem érzi, hogy a férje erre törekedne.

Ezután csobbannak egyet. Nem kicsi a tét: ha Rami elúszik Mikiig, akkor a férfi megtanul táncolni. Wishes Zámbó Krisztián közelebb áll, hogy biztos sikerüljön elvergődni a célig. Azt mondja nekünk a férfi, hogy szeretné, ha a felesége látná, hogy próbálkozik.

Ám hiába tett egy kedves gesztust a nő felé, amikor a táncra kerülne a sor bekamuzza, hogy fáj a háta. Rami tudja, hogy hazudik és nem szimpi neki ez a húzás.

Ezután megállnak az utcán megnézni egy bűvészt, de Zámbó Krisztián megijed a trükköktől és elbújik a nő háta mögé. A feleség megállapítja, hogy a férje nem túl férfias. Aztán megpróbálja rávenni újra a faszit, hogy táncoljon vele, de az továbbra sem akar. Csak annyit fűznék ehhez, hogy a Király táncolt volna.

Ezután beülnek valahova inni, de Raminak nincs jó kedve. Miki megkérdezi miért. NA VAJON MIÉRT TE PROLI GECI? A nő csak hetyetyézik, de faszikám tudja, hogy a tánc a gond és most azt hazudja, hogy meghúzta a lábát. Sikerül ma is összeveszniük és Rami a férje fejéhez vágja, hogy nem bírja elviselni a kritikát. Miki felbassza magát ezen és azt mondja félreismeri a nő.

Másnap az összeköltözés a téma. Rami tart tőle, mert a férfi hozzá se tudott alkalmazkodni és tart attól, hogy a gyereket és a kutyát még annyira sem fogja elviselni. Pulán még mindig fagyos a hangulat. Geri és Reni kenuzni indulna, de a vámpírnak már megint problémát okoz a víz.

Eveznek két métert, aztán a démon már meg is akar fordulni. Azt mondja azért büszke magára, hogy megpróbálta. Nincs miért. Geri nem akarja, hogy teljesen el legyen baszva a nyaralása, ezért visszamegy kicsit egyedül evezgetni.

A következő programjuk a konyhában lenne, de természetesen főzni sem tud a szivola. Ez hidegzuhanyként érinti a férfit, mert szerinte ez a nő dolga lenne. Természetesen téved, mert ez az inasok dolga és mivel a férfi inasként viselkedik az egész nászút alatt, ő főz. Ebéd közben a korábbi kapcsolataikról beszélgetnek és a férfi bevallja, hogy kurvára nem ehhez van hozzászokva, ami már nagyon frusztrálja.

Reni azt mondja, hogy hangulatingadozásai vannak, de a probléma gyökere még mindig az, hogy gecire nem jön be neki a faszi. Azt hazudja ezután, hogy szeretné megismerni a férfit, de természetesen csak, mint barát. Geri szerint ilyen hozzáállással még barátok se tudnának lenni.

Nekünk hozzáteszi a férfi, hogy megalázó neki a szitu, mert egy olyan nő után rohangál most, aki amúgy kurvára nem tetszik neki, hiába szép. Ráadásul meg se dicsérte a főztjét.

The (Re)Discovery of Mädchen in Uniform (1931), a Pioneering Lesbian Film

A pioneering avant-garde lesbian film, Mädchen in Uniform was released in 1931 and directed by Leontine Sagan, one of the first openly lesbian women in Germany. The work is based on the play of the same name by novelist Christa Winsloe, who was openly pansexual and was executed along with her partner, Simone Gentet, by French soldiers during World War II.

The story follows the arrival of a young girl, Manuela von Meinhardis, at a girls’ boarding school in Germany during World War I. There, she meets a teacher, Elisabeth von Bernburg, with whom she falls in love. Also captivated by Manuela, von Bernburg is unable to show her affection for fear of the faculty’s reaction.

Mädchen in Uniform was banned under Nazi Germany, and the original version disappeared from film archives. The few versions found outside Germany were often of dubious quality or lacked sufficient subtitles. An openly antifascist film, it was rediscovered by feminists in the mid-1970s. It was subsequently embraced by lesbian audiences and became a classic reference in lesbian cinema in both the United States and Europe. Its impact on lesbian film is considerable, as it was the first in a long line of films exploring the theme of girls’ boarding schools and same-sex relationships within them.

One of the film's most memorable scenes involves a kiss, after an interminable wait, between the teacher and the young girl as the boarders go to bed. In this scene, the teacher kisses the boarders on the forehead one by one, but when she arrives at Manuela's bed, the two kiss on the mouth, sealing the desire between them. In this sequence, every shot shows the teacher kissing the pupils on the forehead (fig. 1), supporting a different desire between the latter and Manuela, who passionately embraces her teacher before kissing her.

A homo-eroticization of the boarders awaiting their kiss is perceptible (fig. 2).

They look at each other and at the teacher as she strolls between the dormitory beds. This is achieved by a succession of long shots of the dormitory and close-ups of the girls looking at each other. The music that accompanies this scene creates a long suspense until the long-awaited kiss (fig. 3).

The film Mädchen in Uniform truly established a genre that would be repeated in cinema, notably through several remakes, including the 1957 version of the same name starring Romy Schneider (Mädchen in Uniform) and the Mexican adaptation Muchachas de Uniforme (1951). The emergence of lesbian desire in a boarding school setting has been a recurring theme in cinema since this pioneering film, with several Hollywood films depicting romantic relationships between young girls in boarding schools.
