it really does bother me how no one can seem to answer the question “what even is romantic attraction, really.” like some people are like “it’s who you wanna kiss and cuddle <3” and I’m like ok well kisses and cuddles can be either sexual or platonic depending on context. “It’s who you feel passion/desire/arousal for” well that just sounds like sexual attraction which you can have without even knowing somebody so I fail to see how that’s romantic. “It’s who you want to go on dates with” I go on dates with friends all the time plus “date” is a social construct anyway there’s really no innate difference between a date and hanging out. “it’s who you have deep feelings for” great news for you that can be literally any type of relationship. my friend told me she defined it as “who you wanna give roses to” and I’m like do u hear urself??? like the more I talk to people the more I’m convinced romance and romantic attraction is an elaborate socially fabricated illusion that has no real defining characteristics. and like there’s nothing Wrong with it being a constuct but why people are so attached to defending the supremacy of it is something I cannot for the life of me figure out

rook is the first kind voice he's heard in a year and they're here for him specifically.

lucanis has spite who he thinks has turned him into someone else to escape their prison meanwhile rook has solas actively turning them into someone he needs to escape his prison

lucanis flirted with viago by giving him a knife and the first thing rook grabs for him is a knife... with wyvern nonetheless.

lucanis is trapped in the fade with his past regrets and sorrows and fears keeping him there. rook is trapped in the fade with their past regrets and sorrows and fears keeping them there.

lucanis initially fears he never actually escaped the ossuary. rook struggles with accepting that they actually made it out of solas' prison.

rook pulled lucanis out of his prison. lucanis pulls them out of theirs.

lucanis kills ghilan'nain, mother of monsters. rook kills elgar'nan, god of vengeance.

every time i want to be absolutely ruined, i just think about the fact that, despite being only five seasons, in-universe bbc's merlin spanned over a period of ten years.

ten years during which merlin dressed and undressed arthur every day. took care of his armour. stood and fastened the clasps when arthur was going out to battle. what imaginably could be more quietly intimate than that?

ten years during which merlin withstood being underestimated, withstood all that he had done for arthur being unacknowledged, just so he could stay by his side.

ten years during which the most powerful magical being in albion chose to stay by arthur's side as his manservant, and his friend. destiny be damned.

that utter devotion, loyalty to each other? arthur's reciprocated loyalty to and love for merlin despite the fact that, in his mind, he was just a human servant who hadn't saved his life nearly half as much as in reality?

I'M DEAD. BOWLED OVER. IN RUINS.
