This is not something that could be a serious theory about canon (one of those cases where it definitely would come up if true) nor that I can use for fanfic (clashes with all my preexisting headcanons for that generation) so random post for my 25 readers it is.
I think it would be cool for Alannys and Rodrik to be their father's salt children and Gwynesse be the only fully legitimate one from a rock wife. I think it really would have enhanced the Iron Islands worldbuilding differentiating it from the mainland to have this dynamic within the royal family and happening to important characters. I also think none of these passages make logical sense if Rodrik and Gwynesse are just plain full siblings, especially not as comparison to Asha's situation where unlike Gwynesse the law is fully on her side.
Fun fact, the Italian translation also describes Alannys as Rodrik's half sister, probably because the translator was unable to parse the complex word string "another widowed half-mad sister". Though, I prefer for Rodrik and Alannys to both be the salt children in this train of thought, for the implications for Theon and Asha and also makes more sense chronologically as Alannys is even younger than Rodrik
#i have other fanwankings as to why gwynesse thinks that in my standing headcanons but not really an explanation for why rodrik thinks its a#good argument to make ajgjsk#asoiaf#alannys harlaw#rodrik harlaw#gwynesse harlaw

How do you think ACOK/AGOT Theon Greyjoy would have gotten along politically and personally with his uncle Rodrik “the Reader”, as well as cousin Ser Harras Harlaw? For me, Theon’s relationship with his mothers family is one of the more notable missed opportunities for interesting personal dynamics (also, if the Theon Latecomer theory comes to pass, R’hllor help us all if poor Alannys never gets to hold her baby boy one more time)
I agree with you in that I’m very interested in the Harlaws, as despite their limited page time they’ve proven to be varied characters, from bookish Rodrik to stern knight Harras to ambitious Hotho to proud and stubborn Gwynesse and tragic Alannys. Usually characters in these minor houses get one trait for all, especially the ironborn; it’s the bigger houses that get this sort of variety and nuance. Plus they breed a shaggy pony that I’m guessing (due to the resemblance between the Iron Islands and Scottish isles) is analogous to the Shetland pony.
Harras and Theon probably did have a personal relationship before the latter had to leave Pyke, and I don’t think it was a positive one; “As a boy Harlaw had been fast friends with Balon's eldest son, Rodrik” (AFFC The Reaver) but Theon “remembered Rodrik's drunken cuffs” and told Patrek that he was horrible enough he doesn’t care Jason killed him (ACOK Theon I). Anyone who was fast friends with Rodrik is likely not going to be someone Theon has warm thoughts of. What little we know of Harras has him a great warrior, loyal, has an ancient Valyrian steel sword, serious, merciful enough (Euron had all the Hewetts killed while Harras just imprisoned the Grimms)…most of which would bore Theon, some of which would remind him of Ned Stark whom he feared due to their history (and he and Harras must’ve had some history too). Basically I don’t think they’d be personally friends. However, if Theon became his liege, I think Harras would support him (certainly over the Greyjoy uncles) and would reave where he was ordered.
Rodrik Harlaw, I think Theon would feel similarly to how Asha does in early AFFC, resentful of his cautioning him about fighting a war the ironborn can’t win, but unlike Asha probably thinks less of him for constantly reading books (Luwin at least admits to never liking him); and he thinks Victarion is an old man who’d just take his orders, so he’d likely think even less of Rodrik and his advice. However, Rodrik would still support him out of necessity and try to advise him, though wouldn’t personally reave.
Don’t worry, Theon is going back to those islands and meeting Alannys. It’s all part of his subverted Hero’s Journey, in which he returns to his home a greatly changed person due to the trials in the unknown world, now with the ability to grant boons to his deeply damaged community, aka Alannys (who’s the only person happy to see him for non-political reasons). I say this with hope, because even though GRRM has expressed dislike for the Hero’s Journey Monomyth, even he can’t resist the idea of his main characters going back to the place they’re born (the possible confirmation of seeing Casterly, show!Daenerys on Dragonstone, of course all Starks will be at Winterfell)

They are { AGAINST } a new treaty of peace and unity between House Targaryen and House Stark. Things, however, are not always quite what they seem, are they?
written for godsandmonstersrpg by mini (27, she/her/hers, est) pinterest

Scars/Birthmarks: No notable birthmarks. Scars litter his body, though most are not particularly noticeable — he has plentiful thin white lines evidencing boyhood scraps. Notable features: Facial scars, full lips.
Disabilities: N/A
Fashion style: Not a particularly ostentatious dresser, but prideful enough to dress in a way that suits him. Most comfortable in leathers and iron. Wears heavy furs when North.
Accessories/Weapons: Limited accessories. He thinks ornamentation is a southern habit, and finds livery chains and the like to be foolish. Rodrik carries a bastard sword he’s called Howler, which has a lapis lazuli inlay pommel. He also carries a steel dirk.
Cleanliness/Grooming: Relatively regimented in hygiene — fairly vain in the keeping of his appearance; he does not like to go too long without grooming.

Psychological Traits
Personality type: ESTP-T, The Entrepreneur
Savvy, energetic, enjoys living on the edge. Talented at improvising and adapting to opportunities, valuing novelty above stability.
Personality traits:
Positive: Debonair, adaptable, perceptive, individualistic.
Negative: Conceited, disobedient, argumentative, faithless.
Temperament: Choleric
Characterized as being decisive, focused, and goal-oriented. Choleric individuals thrive in environments where systematic strategies and problem-solving abilities are required. May struggle with interpersonal relationships.
Mannerisms: Arms crossed defensively, prone to pacing.
Educational background: Provided with the typical education afforded to highborn clansmen. Often rejected lessons with the maester for favor of disappearing on horseback or to the training yard — to this day his handwriting is more childlike than might be expected.
Religious background: Raised to keep the Old Gods. No longer considers himself to be a follower of the Gods — though he does believe in (& has a healthy fear of) Gods and magic, he does not necessarily believe they work towards the betterment of mankind.
Intelligence: Not an exceptional historian or scholar by any stretch of the imagination. Militarily minded, and overall a good judge of character in others.
Self-esteem: Projects a strong sense of self, and has confidence in himself in specific areas — swordcraft and battle strategy, entertaining lovers — but additionally carries some shame and self-doubt where his ability to lead is concerned.
Hobbies: Enjoys gambling.
Skills/talents: Above average swordsman. Not quite good enough to be considered amongst the greats, but he can hold his own admirably.
Favorites:
Foods and Drinks: Fish and fowl, developed a liking for sweet red wines while in Essos.
People and Animals: He prefers the company of people he can relate to in some way, and was content amongst other battle-hardened individuals. Enjoys the company of men and women. Has always enjoyed horses.
Events: Melees and festivals.
Songs: He prefers bawdy, ribald songs like Bessa the Barmaid, Fifty-Four Tuns, and Her Little Flower. If he’s drank enough wine or ale, he’ll be happy to start the singing.
Morals/Virtues: Justice, courageousness, diligence.
Phobias/Fears: Fear of mortality. Fears of failure.
Angered by: Abuses of women, children, or otherwise helpless individuals. There are certain personality types that he becomes easily angered by — largely those he perceives to be unduly arrogant or callous. (He thinks of himself as duly arrogant.)
Habits: Picks under his nails with the tip of his dirk.
Desires: Protection of his family’s interests. Personal independence.
Flaws: Mischievious and prideful.
Secrets: TBD
Regrets: The events leading up to his exile due to the shame it brought upon his family. Failing to make something of himself across the Narrow Sea. Being absent at the funerals of his mother and brother.
Communication
Languages known: Common Tongue, Low Valyrian (greater understanding of the language than capacity to speak it).
Accent: Northerner
Style and pacing of speech: Gruff, matter-of-fact at times, low and amused at other times.
Pitch: Low pitched.
Laughter: Loud and boisterous.
Smile: Boyish and amused.
Use of gestures: N/A
Strengths, Weaknesses, and Abilities
Physical strengths: Healthy. Strong core strength/upper body strength.
Physical weaknesses: Slight favoring of his left side due to a previous injury.
Intellectual strengths: Good organizational and militaristic skills.
Intellectual weaknesses: Poor at playing the role of politician. Brusque courtly manner.
Interpersonal strengths: Charismatic, particularly with would-be lovers. Unabashed in his admiration of those he considers to be talented at things he finds interesting. Not ashamed to surround himself with those he considers better than him in certain areas (e.g., does not reject keeping a council, even if he does not always follow their advice).
Interpersonal weaknesses: Has a difficult time conceding to another person’s perspective if his mind is set on something — bullheaded. Will behave disobediently if he feels he is acting in his (or the group’s) best interest.
Physical abilities: Above average.
Magical abilities: N/A
Physical illnesses/conditions: N/A
Mental illnesses/conditions: Hypervigilant as a result of his lifestyle.
Relationships
Parents: The late ruling Lord Torrhen Flint and Lady Arsa Flint
Rodrik was not his father’s favored child, and it showed quite clearly in their often-strained relationship. Rodrik often felt scrutinized and small in his father’s presence, and sought to be able to prove himself to the man — a feat he was never able to achieve for himself. On the contrary, he was undoubtedly his mother’s favorite. Where Torrhen might’ve left Rodrik to fight in single combat against his older and more capable cousin following the revelation of his betrayal, it was Arsa who intervened and begged for Rodrik to instead choose the Wall or exile in Essos (see Significant Background Events for further details). Torrhen ended communication with Rodrik shortly before his exile, though Rodrik continued to communicate with his mother and sister in the intervening years. Arsa’s death nearly drove him to return home to see her buried, but he ultimately remained in Essos.
Siblings: The late ruling Lord Joren Flint (deceased, brother) and an unnammed sister (see wanted connections).
Details: The relationship between brothers was good-natured and competitive in their youth. Joren was 3 years Rodrik’s senior, and the boys spent the bulk of their time together as children. As they grew older, however, Joren became more closely guarded beneath their father’s wing — and when Rodrik became ward to their cousin at Widow’s Watch, the relationship weakened. Joren kept loyalty to Torrhen following Rodrik’s exile, and the brothers lost contact in the intervening years, though Rodrik made several efforts to reach his brother by letter. Though Joren married, he was unable to produce a viable heir, and died of a wasting disease. The relationship between Rodrik and his sister was decidedly warmer, and the two continued to communicate through his years of exile in Essos. It was his sister who ultimately wrote to him to tell him of Joren’s impending death, and asked him to return home.
Children: Unnamed bastard child (see wanted connections).
Details: An affair with his cousin’s betrothed (a lady of House Norrey) is not confirmed to have resulted in the birth of a child — and indeed, the child was claimed as a trueborn Flint by the child’s supposed father — but it is whispered that the child is Rodrik’s. He has diligently avoided interactions and wills himself to believe it to be an impossibility.
Nieces & Nephews: TBD
Extended family: TBD
Pets: Black destrier called Gorge (about 10 years old).
Details: Previously the mount of his brother, Joren. Rodrik has not fully won over the loyalty of the beast, though he is working diligently to do so.
Partner(s)/Significant other(s): TBD (see wanted connections).
Lover(s): TBD (see wanted connections).
Friends: Maester Olyvar (about 65 years old), TBD (see wanted connections).
Details: The maester of Breakstone Hill, something of a parental figure to Rodrik and his main source of guidance in leadership.
Rivals: Cadet branches of House Flint (see wanted connections).
Enemies: House Norrey, House Flint of Widow’s Watch (see wanted connections).
Significant Background Events
As the second son of Torrhen Flint, the ruling First Flint of the northern mountain clans, Rodrik was expected to carve out his own path in life. At around the age of 12, it was decided he would be sent to be warded with his Flint kin at Widow’s Watch. Tension between branches of House Flint had been heightening — due in no small part to increasing power at Widow’s Watch — and Rodrik was intended to be an offered symbol of peace from the main branch. He was not entirely accepted into the fold of the family — the rivalries amongst branches could not be ignored, despite their best efforts — but his father’s cold shoulder had prepared him for such treatment. Life at Widow’s Watch suited Rodrik fine, who enjoyed independence from his father and the opportunity to develop as a swordsman.
Around the time he reached his majority, a daughter of House Norrey had come to reside at Widow’s Watch, with the intention of marrying one of his cousins. Rodrik and the girl became infatuated with one another, and a resulting affair was discovered after the marriage to his cousin had already been consummated. To spare her honor as best he could, Rodrik claimed responsibility and asserted that he had seduced the unwitting woman. Though he consented to his cousin’s demand for a single combat battle to resolve the issue, his mother intervened on his behalf, and begged for his life. He was given a choice to maintain the peace: the Wall, or exile in Essos. Rodrik ultimately chose the latter.
He attempted to fall in line with a sellsword company to make something of himself, and for a short time counted himself amongs the members of the Stormcrows. The company lifestyle was ultimately ill-suited to him, as he proved disobedient in carrying out the orders of his superiors when he found that he disagreed with their methods. In the intervening years, his survival was earned somewhere between independent sellsword work, gambling, and outright thievery when it was called for.
When his brother’s health worsened in Westeros, Rodrik was recalled to Breakstone Hill by his sister, who suspected Joren would not live much longer. Rodrik ultimately returned too late, and with no other legitimate heir, was in short order (and controversially) given the mantle of The Flint.
Character Growth
Character comparisons/archetype: Naturally, Rodrik’s characterizations draws on some of my beloved exiled boys of ASOIAF: Jorah Mormont and Jon Connington. Additionally, there is inspiration from Telltale GOT’s Asher Forrester. I see Rodrik as facing some of the internal conflicts/shame we see in Jorah and Jon, who suffer with the marks they’ve left on their family names as a result of their actions. Asher’s depicted life in Essos working as a sellsword without a company of his own is also an inspiration, I’m interested in the hard-knock life of an independent mercenary. And of course, with all three of these boys, I’m inspired by the mix of having a longing for home and yet a feeling that there isn’t really a home to go back to (or not one that they remember). By extension, I see Rodrik very much as a prodigal son character — returning after quite an absence with the intention of making something of himself after failing to do just that for most of his adult life. I also see Rodrik as something of a Lothario type.
Core values: Independence, respect, personal pleasure and achievement.
Internal conflicts: Overcoming the stains of his past, moving past his own shame, having to put aside some of his personal wants for the needs of his House and the North.
External conflicts: Maintaining control of Breakstone Hill (including making a respectable marriage), maintaining peace with his Flint kin and the other mountain clans (notably House Norrey). Against the alliance between the Targaryens and Starks; believes any sacrifice to Northern independence is dangerous.
Goals: Maintaining lordship.
Wanted connections:
PLATONIC
Family connections -
Sister: I don’t have any preferences on the birth order of these siblings. I imagine Rodrik is close with his sister, whom he maintained connection with through the intervening years of his exile. His sister is also responsible for him being recalled back to Westeros, which may have consequences of their own, which I think is fun!
Child: At about 21 years old, this child will have had no interaction with Rodrik — but likely grew up with whispers of bastardry tainting them. While this has been left unconfirmed, I do love the idea of Rodrik having a bastard, if only to add on to his internal shame schtick. He’s avoided any contact with this child, and I think the relationship would be very tense and fun.
Friend connections -
Any characters who have spent any time in Essos…I’d love to pepper in some background details & interactions. (: Rodrik is fairly charismatic and can make friends well enough, particularly with people he admires.
Enemy connections -
The two cadet branches of House Flint are probably Anti Rodrik, and I think it would be fun to even plot out some grander plans of ousting him as Lord for favor of another Flint.
Rodrik’s behavior no doubt had ripple effects amongs the mountain clans of the North in general, but in particular, I imagine his relations with House Norrey are poor.
ROMANTIC
Former lover - A lady of House Norrey, mother of (maybe) his bastard child. Whether or not her husband, Rodrik’s kin, still lives is UTP. I’m very open to discussing what contact, if any, Rodrik may have had with her over the years.
Lover(s) - Rodrik is very open to lovers, both for temporary flings or something longterm. I can certainly see Rodrik coming back to Westeros with a lover as well, so if someone is interested in introducing an Essosi character, I’m down to discuss it!
Betrothed - Open!

Trans Theon Brainrot (NSFW marked)
Okay so I’ve had severe transmasc Theon brainrot for the past few days after going on a very GoT/Greyjoy themed holiday
These are 99.9% based on showverse Theon in a modern AU but there are a few elements from the books sprinkled throughout. Most of them are pretty angsty (it is GoT) but there’s some fluff and crack-ish ones too
This is based on personal experiences/fantasies as a trans man. They’re also just my personal headcanons, which I separate from actual canon events/characterisation <3
Minors DNI, NSFW headcanons included
SFW Content Warnings:
Dysphoria, transphobia (internal & external), attachment issues, Balon’s A+ parenting, abusive childhoods, fucked-up views of gender norms/roles, self-destructive behaviours/poor coping mechanisms, mental illness, self harm, unhealthy/abusive relationships, menstruation (transmasc character), implied pregnancy (transmasc character), injection/surgery mention, Ramsay Bolton, consensual Thramsay
NSFW Content Warnings:
Explicit consensual Thramsay (Theon is totally onboard with everything but I cannot stress this enough, Ramsay can be a mean SOB), AFAB terminology, feminisation, established power dynamics, general BDSM mention, vaginal penetration (trans man), humiliation/degradation, Daddy kink, breeding kink, size kink, ownership kink, marking/biting/scarification
Personality:
* For all his outward arrogance and inflated self-importance, Theon is deeply insecure and anxious. He attempts to keep the people in his life distant and detached emotionally, believing that it’ll hurt less when they inevitably abandon him
* His tendency to act like an asshole is half mimicry of the adults in his childhood, especially his uncle Euron, and half defence mechanism. Years of being a disappointment to his father has created a toxic, twisted persona that he believes Balon would finally be proud of. In reality, he’s just a scared little boy who wants to be loved
* During his teenage years, Theon suppressed anything about himself that could be construed as feminine, worried that others would question his identity or that he wouldn’t be ‘trans’ enough
* (Before meeting Ramsay) In order to gain any sort of attention and feel desirable, Theon acts overly flirtatious and puts himself in toxic intimate situations. Robb and Jon have had to step in to rescue a very-intoxicated Theon from many unsavoury characters on nights out
* Deep down, Theon is very sentimental and soft - he adores the ocean, animals and flicking through books his mother used to read to him
* Now in his mid-twenties, Theon is more authentically confident. He’s grown his hair out a little, paints his nails and wears eyeliner, steals Sansa’s cropped shirts - he looks damn good and he knows it (besides, Jon does it too)
The Greyjoys:
* Theon’s relationship with his father is nonexistent, aside from the lasting emotional scars, fear of abandonment and chronic insecurity stemming from his childhood
* Even as a child, Theon was regarded as the ‘weakest’ Greyjoy heir. Pre-transition, he was already much more sensitive, gentle and emotional than his older sister, Yara, who took after their brothers
* Yara is fiercely supportive of Theon’s transition, she has always known her baby brother was a bit different and loved him regardless. After Alannys’ death, Yara takes over protecting Theon from their father the way their mother used to. However, she takes a tough-love approach rather than Alannys’ coddling one, fearing that Theon will not be able to defend himself should she not be there
* Balon’s neglect and abuse of Theon is less to do with the fact that he’s trans, and almost entirely to do with the fact that he fails to live up to the image of Maron and Rodrik - if he’s suddenly going to have a third son, he bloody better act like a traditional Ironborn man (Theon does not, at all)
* In all honesty, Balon doesn’t give enough of a shit about his kids to care about their gender identities - he just wishes his only living male heir could’ve turned out to be Yara instead. In his eyes, at least she would be tough and gritty enough to take ‘the role of a man’
The Starks:
* At first, Theon deeply resented his adoptive family and the bond they share with one another - it wasn’t fair that he couldn’t have what the Stark children could. It took many years but eventually, Theon let his guard down and truly felt like part of the family; he now considers Ned and Cat his parents, and the Stark kids his siblings.
* When Theon came out, he told Sansa first. She proceeded to kick everyone out of the house to plan a gender reveal party with Margaery and Dany. Though he pretended to be embarrassed, Theon had never felt more affirmed in his life
* Jon and Theon used to despise each other; the latter would go out of his way to demean his adoptive brother because at least he wouldn’t be last in the pecking order anymore. As time went on, both realised they were as lonely and rejected as the other. Theon began dragging Jon out to socialise with their classmates, while Jon introduced Theon to his favourite bands, his favourite emotional outlet. Ned eventually converted part of the garage into a makeshift studio for the pair to thrash out all their frustrations. They’ve seen Nine Inch Nails live together four times. Jon cried every time, Theon hasn’t told a soul
* Once, when he was seventeen, Theon injured himself by swimming in his binder and wasn’t allowed to wear it for a week. He hid in his room for three days before Robb and Jon burst into his room, both wearing bras they stole from Sansa and stuffed with socks. They refused to take them off and kept attention away from Theon until he could safely bind again
* Arya bonds with Theon as he helps them explore their own gender identity and expression, constantly reassuring them that they can look and act however they want no matter who they are
* Even though he’s now starting high school, Rickon still introduces Theon to everyone as his big brother. Theon doesn’t think he’ll ever stop feeling gender euphoria when he hears it
* Ned is a little awkward around Theon for a while, he’s out of his depth and doesn’t want to offend the boy. In his office, he spends hours pouring over forums for parents of trans youth, medical documents and trans charity webpages. If anything, he goes into extreme, unnecessary detail in his research, which is mildly embarrassing but Theon appreciates the effort all the same
* In Cat’s eyes, Theon is a troubled, problem child: starting fights at school, excessive drinking, cutting himself, disappearing for days at a time. However, when he finally receives his first appointment with a youth gender specialist, she holds his hand the whole way to the clinic
* Bran finds comfort in the fact that Theon is different too. At times he considers himself an outsider compared to his siblings, but Theon listens to his rants and truly understands how he feels
Ramsay:
* A brief overview of how I headcanon Rams in this scenario before I get into his and Theon’s relationship. Ramsay has a dysfunctional family, anger management issues, a major obsession with Theon Greyjoy and some form of antisocial personality disorder. He’s nowhere near as depraved as he is in the show/books but he is still controlling, impulsive, violent and all-round antisocial. His attachment insecurities due to his relationship with Roose has led to a warped view of love and a desire to ‘own’ those he has deep feelings for - Roose has drilled into him that showing affection and vulnerability are signs of weakness. This manifests most aggressively around Theon (who he truly loves, adores, cares for usually tolerates)
* Anyways, Ramsay doesn’t strike me as the transphobic type - he hates everyone equally. He’s quite supportive, in the sense that Theon is still his pet regardless of what his body looks like. In fact, Theon being trans gives Ramsay more opportunities to control/change his appearance
* Ramsay gladly plays the role of ‘daddy’; he has his own daddy issues to work through and Theon is desperate for any kind of praise and validation. Sometimes all Theon wants is a firm hand to guide him and put him in his place, which works perfectly for Ramsay
* Their attachment to one another is undoubtedly unhealthy but it’s a perfect dynamic: Theon finally feels wholly wanted and Ramsay knows that Theon can’t won’t ever leave him
* They met in university; Theon studying art and Ramsay, biology. Well… Ramsay notices Theon from afar, sees right through his mask of confidence and makes it his life mission to rip it off forever. Robb and Jon are immediately suspicious when Ramsay begins cosying up to Theon, but Theon is smitten; a handsome, intelligent guy is interested in him and knows exactly what to say to validate him, almost as if Ramsay already knows everything about him…
* Theon’s hormone treatment begins after he starts being owned by dating Ramsay, as up until that point hormones and surgery have been financially unattainable (Balon has never lifted a finger to help). Luckily, the Bolton’s are loaded from their totally-legal business practises and Ramsay is more than happy to pay for Theon to attend a private clinic. Although this comes across to everyone else as uncharacteristically sweet for Ramsay, he secretly plans to hold Theon’s testosterone hostage should he ever think of leaving :)
* Ramsay insists on administering all of Theon’s testosterone shots and blood tests. Theons knows it makes Ramsay feel in control, but finds it endearing nonetheless
* Rams absolutely gets agitated whenever Theon gets his period, because how dare his boy bleed and be in pain when it’s not by his own hands. This is the main thing he can’t control and hates feeling like he doesn’t have complete ownership over Theon’s body. Theon has had to explain repeatedly that he can’t just ‘hold it in’, as Ramsay is a possessive motherfucker and has convinced himself that Theon is purposefully depriving him of his bodily fluids
* This belief is in spite of Ramsay’s biology degree because whenever Theon is concerned, the laws of science cease to exist because ‘the little bitch has to be doing this just to spite me’
* When Theon announces that he has found a surgeon for top-surgery, Rams almost has an aneurism from jealousy - no one else is allowed to scar or mark his precious pet. Subsequently, he pays his way into a plastic surgery course in order to perform Theon’s top surgery himself (in the Dreadfort’s basement)
* Roose is almost pleased when Theon moves into the Dreadfort; Ramsay is completely infatuated with the boy and is ‘behaving himself’ more than usual. He is unbothered by Theon’s transition, but dreads the possibility of mini Ramsay’s wreaking havoc in the future
NSFW Headcanons
* Ramsay lives for the spike in Theon’s libido a few days after his T-shot, loves how needy and insatiable he gets for any kind of stimulation, constantly dripping wet and ready for Ramsay to use whenever he pleases
* No matter where they are, Ramsay has a filthy mouth and it drives Theon insane. Rams loves watching his boy squirm after whispering something dirty to him during family gatherings
* Though he used to suffer from a lot of genital dysphoria, Theon adores bottoming for Ramsay; the man has an impressive dick and a damn oral fixation, he eats pussy like a god
* A size queen through and through, the size/build difference between Ramsay and himself really gets Theon going; it’s so easy for his boyfriend to pick him up and slam him against the nearest surface, or pin him underneath his weight. It makes Theon feel so incredibly small and it takes his breath away. Similarly, Ramsay loves how slim Theon is and incorporates it frequently into his bedroom talk - “Aww, is my cock hurting you, sweetling? Is it too much for your little pussy to take?..”(Theon almost cums from words alone)
* Rams 100% has a breeding kink; marking Theon from the inside, carrying his baby, showing everyone else who he belongs to - Theon isn’t exactly opposed to that fantasy either ;)
* Speaking of kinks! Both have a hardcore daddy kink, self explanatory. They pretty much have a 24/7 Dom/sub dynamic and enjoy many aspects of BDSM
* The first time Ramsay, jokingly, used the nickname ‘Princess’, Theon tried (and failed) to hide the fact that his boxers were soaked through. Now, Rams drops it casually into conversations for the satisfaction of watching Theon attempt to hold himself together
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I absolutely have more headcanons in the deepest darkest recesses of my brain but these are all I can put into words atm
💛 or 🕊️ for Theon?
Familial Relationships - I object to the common idea that Theon had always been Balon's "least favorite" child or that Balon had always preferred Asha. IMO, there's not really much support for that in canon and it's impossible and kind of unfair to project Balon's attitude toward Theon in ACOK backwards since so much of it is tainted by Theon being away for 10 years and a hostage on the mainland at that. There's a lot of complicated feelings/issues there that they would not have had pre-rebellion or if Theon had never been taken hostage. Like not to make this a whole meta but it shouldn't be forgotten that Balon's favor toward Asha is not unconditional. What Dagmer tells Theon is telling: "With your brothers dead and you taken by the wolves, your sister was his solace. He learned to rely on her, and she has never failed him." (ACOK, Theon III.) The conditions for Asha having the position she does are 1) she was the only child Balon had left in Pyke and 2) she has managed to live up to his expectations (even by the standards of an outsider, so it's not just Balon coddling his baby girl or whatever). Also telling that Balon had to "learn" to rely on Asha. This was a process, not something that existed naturally. We know from Theon's memories that Balon was not an affectionate father, but imo, he was distant and not very emotionally available rather than abusive or disdainful.
Also, without going into it too much because this already got long lol, I headcanon Theon as having a complicated relationship with Maron (who in my hc is about five years older than Theon because it makes a nice reverse mirror with Robb). That they had the kind of sibling relationship that was ok-to-good when they were little but as Maron grew up, he idolized Rodrik and tried to impress him/get his approval, which involved going along with being mean to Theon, etc, which ruined their relationship. And the reason Theon remembers Rodrik's physical abuse but what he associates with Maron most are "lies" and mockery is in large part due to that feeling of betrayal of Maron "leaving" him for Rodrik.
(Other) Platonic Relationships - I have a whole arsenal of unpopular opinions about Theon & Robb lol. But let's go with something more lighthearted here: My opinion/headcanon is that if Theon got more of a chance, he'd fit in great with Edmure's entire riverlords friendship group, not just Patrek.
Any headcanons/inspirations for Unnamed Lady Bolton/Unnamed Lady Ryswell? What houses you think they come from? Etc?
For Roose' mother i had a little writeup in this post (which also has some more unnamed ladies speculation if youre interested); basically we know Domeric squired in the Vale, so Roose would have some connection there be it relatives or friends. Roose also appears pretty isolated in aDwD, his strongest allies are all through marriage ties, so it would make a lot of sense if his mother's house wasn't northern and so doesn't have a presence (after all, marriage ties are supposed to connect you politically through the children). Domeric also appeared to feel lonesome in the north, desiring a brother to equal the companionship he witnessed in the Vale. So i feel it is likely Roose' mother was a Redfort (the house he sent Domeric to), or another Vale house; the Starks also married into the Royces sometimes so it's not an unheard of interregional connection. Generally i feel Roose being a cousin/otherwise related to any of the currently present northern characters would be something that comes up once he is warden and characters all start making statements on what they think of him or how they are connected to him, so the Redfort heritage is my favourite option, but his mom could also be a Bolton cousin, or characters simply dont care and he is just descended from a Locke/Glover/Flint/whatever. Houses i discount as options are obviously Stark (bolton-stark marriages also never happened in canon), and the mountain clans since roose talks about them in a classist way.
For the Ryswell mom there is 0 information to go off in the text; i like to make her an Umber because i headcanon Rodrik as short (as many horse riders are), so it would be a cute height difference if she was from a very tall house :)
Hi, sorry for the stupid question but I'll do it anyway. What color hair and eyes do you think the Targaryen family has? I've always had the impression that Rhaenyra inherited Viserys's purple eyes but hers are more inhuman almost fuchsia and silvery white hair from her mother Queen Aemma (I have the headcanon that Daella had the lightest hair among her siblings after Aemon and his daughter Aemma inherited it), Daemon has darker silver hair, plus silver gray contrasting with pale lilac eyes, Viserys would have purple eyes and silver hair with streaks of gold, NOT PLATINUM BLONDE HAIR. Aegon like the canon, he looks a lot like his father so he would have the same color of eyes and hair, Aemond would have silvery gray hair and violet eyes, Helaena instead would have hair of a similar tone to her older sister but her eyes would be a bluish violet, and Daeron would be the most beautiful after Rhaenyra, she would have light silver curls with delicate golden streaks and bright purple eyes but lighter than those of her older half-sister.
hi! it's not stupìd at all! Visuals are important and they help imagining the characters so your questions is really interesting! I'm sorry for taking so long to answer this but I wanted to really think about it and give a genuine answer instead of writing down whatever I was feeling like at the moment
Tbh my interpretation of their looks is quite different from yours, but please don't take my response as me correcting you or anything else. Pretty much all the characters you mentioned don't have specific descriptions of their colors in canon, so really, there's no right and wrong. The beauty of imagination is how we don't think the same, and your descriptions definitely made me rethink some of my own ♥
So with that being said let's start:
Targaryen looks (dance era)
The Targaryens generally seem to have white or silvery gold hair because the family is originally from Old Valyria. In f&b a big majority is described as silver-gold (which doesn't help us at all George🙄) Of course hair color varies as we have seen, some have no trace of silver and only gold, some others have more silver, some others have a mix of both colors, and in rare cases we have seen their hair being described as white.
Now, when it comes to the characters I have the tendency to look at the family tree and make a conclusion of their appearance with whatever little description we're given.
In the case of Rhaenyra's we know from f&b that she was extremely beautiful. Daemon declared her the fairest maid in all the Seven Kingdoms, she had a large number of suitors fighting for her hand in marriage, the queen at the time and stepmother felt antagonism towards her despite her young age, and we even later see her appearance being weaponized during the war when men were trying to bring her down.
But what did she look like? well, precise description for her colors is never given but I headcanon that she was Viserra come again; beautiful with the deep purple eyes, flawless white skin, and fine features
While I don't picture her hair as exactly silvery white, I do think that Rhaenyra inherited the rare color from her great uncle, Aemon (her grandfather's brother) and she too had pale hair, shining like white gold.
I also imagine her to be on the short side. (random, i know but I've been dying to mention it) Daella was tiny and her mother Queen Alysanne was described to be a "small woman". So Aemma inherited the looks and height from both women (not to mention her father Rodrik was also described as short man as well) and passed it down to her own daughter, also Alysanne had honey colored hair so imagine Daella and Aemma bore similar colors with some silver perhaps. Thus some hint of gold that Rhaenyra may have in her hair comes from these two.
It's not the first time that I hear someone else describing her eyes as bright, but in my mind they were always a dark violet shade - which her son, Aegon iii later inherited. As I mentioned her hair is a white gold (absolutely not blond) and they fall in big loose curls any time she doesn't wear them in braids.
For Daemon, I agree with you. I see him with silver straight hair with no trace of gold (basically a reverse of his mother Alyssa who had dirty blonde hair and no silver) and with lilac eyes.
I headcanon Viserys to also have the silver-gold hair but as he grew older the silver became more evident and as you mentioned, he has purple eyes. His hair is also more wavy than curly.
As in canon, Aegon II looks like him. Though I imagine his hair slightly more silver, similar to Aemond's.
Helaena takes after her great grandmother Alysanne, aka she doesn't have a trace of silver hair in her head. Her strands are honey-colored and her eyes are a bluish violet as you mentioned.
Aemond's straight hair is silver gold but the silver is way more evident and his eyes are a bright violet color (similiarly to how his grandmother's Alyssa one eye had been)
As for Daeron, i wouldn't call him the most beautiful after Rhaenyra 'cause that's quite a huge to compete but he was indeed the most popular of his brothers, though I think that was mostly because of his better manners rather than just beauty, but he is beautiful as all targaryens tend to be. I think of him with soft curls like Rhaenyra's and his hair is a perfect mix of silver-gold, I'm uncertain about his eye color so I'm gonna agree with you on that one.
Thank you again for this very interesting ask and I'm sorry for taking so long to reply it 💕
#ask reply#f&b#helaena targaryen#rhaenyra targaryen#aemond targaryen#aegon ii targaryen#daemon targaryen#daeron targaryen#fire and blood#my headcanons#this is based on my interpretation so no hate. as I said there's no right or wrong#I just know 100% in my heart that baby Aegon III took the looks from his mother#also as I was writing this I realized alysanne and helaena could have a slight similiarly?#alysanne was described as pretty and not beautiful and helaena was said to be pleasant and not striking like the other targaryens#anyways don't take this too seriously. I just thought it was kinda cool
16, 17, 8, 25 ?? (i want to ask then all sorry!)
Don't apologise! It's really nice of you to show interest and I'm just sorry it'll be disappointing because I'm feeling better now, so the self-respect and confidence that comes with the anger is gone and my answers will probably be more boring or bland.
8. common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about
Everything relating to the Ironborn. The idea that they are westerosi uber-macho, alt-right, republican, white-trash becomes very annoying and often makes me thing that Luwin's propaganda spread to the fandom. There is also something about the fandom vilifying most Iron Islanders and their culture when they are not that much more different than the rest of the Seven Kingdoms. Rape and slavery/thrall culture is just as present in Northern characters (which we can clearly see on Arya's chapters) as it is on the Islands, with the only real difference being that it's not based on religion. All of the core Greyjoy's except for Asha are often depicted as these uber-conservative, alt-right ignorant, macho, toxically masculine people although there is not a lot of canon foundation on that. Their culture seems to be more liberating to the role of women than most, we even have Qarl's mild gender fuckerism, they are more sexually liberated, the concept of "Iron Price vs Gold Price" is more of an ideological statement (with Victarion wearing a Kraken-helmet that MUST have been tailor-made for him) than a factual way of living, and Balon's cruelty to Theon being less about him wearing a necklace and more about him wearing a chain and coming as an envoy, not a free man. Then again, characters like Quellon Greyjoy and Rodrik Harlaw (and often Alannys, even though based on what little we know of her, I doubt she would fit in this) are seen as pure-hearted, good natured and intelligent people who are enlightened compared to the rest and thus, are glorified by the fandom because they appear to be "less Ironborn" (as in less stupid, reckless and violent) and are falsely considered to have adapted to a more idealised version of mainland values. Tris is also often added to the group above, although he doesn't seem to share their ideologies, he is simply characterised by Asha as "too sweet for the Islands" and most readers seem to take it as such, although this claim is never backed up by evidence. It almost reminds me of colonisers of European descent classifying some of the indigenous groups of the regions they invaded as "civilized" because they had adopted attributes of European culture and the entire dichotomy of the "good Indian vs bad Indian". Really hate that. I don't really like comparing the Islands on itself to indigenous tribes who were colonised (Theon is another matter), but in this aspect...
16. you can't understand why so many people like this thing (characterization, trope, headcanon, etc)
The entire modern AU Theon concept since the characterisation is very often based on this strangely idealised mixture of AGOT-Stark perception of Theon and an exaggerated comical retelling of his tragedies during ACOK without any actual nuisance for the reasons behind those tragedies. It feels very sadistic. Free-loader Theon, Dropout Theon, Unemployed Theon. The repressed homophobic homosexual Theon is the most baffling though and it often seems to be more connected to shipping dynamics rather than canon characterisation (Canon implied he had a threesome (or more) with Patrek!!!!! Why did everyone forget about that?????).
17. there should be more of this type of fic/art
I feel hypocritical because I don't do a lot for her, but I wish we had more fan work on Kyra. Until now she is mostly used as a meta type of tool to explore the rules of consent in Westeros and Theon succumbing to his worst impulses during ACOK, and that's valid, it makes sense since she doesn't have much of a characterisation or background story, but I really wish someone would adopt her as their canon OC. I wish we would get to see her as her own failed final girl who has to beg for help to the man who raped her in order to escape an even bigger monster. I know it's an unpopular opinion and that most shippers prefer to see their dynamic as something salvageable or as a more positive and stable fwb relationship and many interpret Kyra as someone who genuinely loved Theon while he saw her as a more or less low-stakes girlfriend (and no hate to anyone who likes any of the mentioned concepts), but personally I would love to see fanworks from her perspective that show us Theon through a more macabre lens. So many fanfics that take place during their escape decide to put Kyra in a position that is similar to Jeyne; she is thankful, clingy and somewhat loving, and as said, I get why people enjoy those. But I like to believe that at the end of everything, when she asked him for help, she no longer loved him, if she ever did. I like to believe she was afraid of him, not that she hated him, simply that she was afraid, how could she not be? I often think about Theon's "On the far side, he had kissed her." and "You saved us." and how there are no descriptions of her response to those things. With Jeyne he describes how she is the one who initiates the physical contact during their escape and he responds somewhat positively, but in Kyra's case we have none of that and it makes me anxious in a good way. I wonder how it might have felt for her. I don't think she would have liked it, she must have been so frightened. Aaaaand I can feel my stomach starting to twist and turn the more I think about it! Time to move on! So yeah TLDR: I would like to see Theon as a villain from the lens of someone whose reasons for seeing him as such are justified. Also we need more f/f cersei fanfics.
25. common fandom complaint that you're sick of hearing
"OMG guys did you know some sickos ship [underage character] with [young adult character]?!? They clearly didn't absorb anything from the books because George won't endorse pedophilia! Anyway, here is my [another underage character] x [same young adult character] fanfic, it's a soulmates au with fluff & smut <3" or any of the other variations of that. I encourage filtering tags and blocking people, I do that a lot, but I will not tolerate clown on clown violence.
Headcanons about Daemon and Rhaenyra in canon or in the universe of your fanfic??
I love your fanfic, one of the best i’ve ever read❤️
Hi there my dear Anon ❤
Damn this ask is almost a year old l:l SORRY!
Thank you so much ❤️ I feel so bad for how long this took me!
I cannot express how excited I am to answer this question *wipes tear* how much time do you have though?
I will try to keep this brief XD Just point out things I used in my fic, and others I have never explicitly said but have laid some clues here and there, and then some canon only headcanons.
Rhaenyra
- She was on the short side barely 5''2 taking after Aemma’s side (I mean Daella was tiny and Rodrik is described as a short man, so this has some canon base ;));
- Her eyes were bright purple - true purple not violet or lilac - and her hair was equal parts silver and gold. It seemed more curly than it was because she wore it in a braid so often, in truth she had large waves;
- She was a Taurus - I mean stubborn, and liked the good life, hello?
- She loved sweets, and loved to read and would often spend her nights doing both;
- Her favourite colours were purple, maroon, pink, black, and red (again much canon-base for this one);
- She was very precocious (and is described as such in the books) and learned how to read a little before she was four. By five she could read anything in the common tongue of Westeros and in High Valyrian;
- She loved to ride Syrax but hated riding by horse and would take a carriage or palanquin every time she could not travel by dragon;
- While she loved fashion and clothes she was a terrible singer and a below average dancer. Most times she danced with men she would stomp on their feet (and they would have to pretend to not notice). She looked like a much better dancer when she danced with Daemon since he was good at guiding her;
- Her favourite flower was the rose and she would usually smell like them using rose perfumes and oils daily;
-She would always tell Syrax what happened between her and Daemon and would tell Caraxes to turn away from them as it was “private”;
- She wore rings even in her toes;
- Like Alyssa she was very loud 😬 you know where;
- She never stopped calling Daemon uncle, her other nickname for him was “my big bad dragon” - valyrian version for y’all: rōva quba zaldrīzes. She also called him “my prince” but that’s actually canon XD
- She and Daemon would often talk in High Valyrian to each other when they weren’t alone. Whenever Viserys complained they exchanged a look and continued to do it;
- She told Daemon she loved him after he kissed her for the first time. She had wanted to do it when he gave her the tiara;
Canon Only:
- She always called Harwin “Strong” when they were together, sometimes it slipped when other people were with them;
- When she visited Harrenhal the two shared a kiss, and out of every man who courted her he was the one she liked the most because he made her laugh, and he wore a gold cloak like Daemon;
- She thought Jace was going to be a girl and she was going to name him Visenya. When he was born though, she love him so much she forgot about all the rest;
- It was her who started to call Jacaerys and Lucerys Jace and Luke because she didn’t like their names, especially since she had no say and it was Corlys who picked them. If she had a say she would have called Jace Baelon for her grandfather. She would have named Luke Aemon since Prince Aemon and her grandfather were so close;
- After the incident with Aemond and Luke, and her father sent Harwin away, Rhaenyra got drunk and slipped into Daemon’s bed. She confessed to him that Harwin was the father of her sons and that she and Laenor never consummated their marriage. Then they slept together (again).
-She suspected Daemon had something to do with Harwin’s death. She was going to confront him but then she realised she might be pregnant so she never asked him. She was too afraid of the answer and she knew she had to marry him for her baby;
- She would always play with her boys and chase after them kicking off her shoes;
Daemon:
- He was slightly taller than Viserys standing at 6″1. He was naturally very slender as a boy but grew more muscular because he forced himself to eat more and practice every day;
- His hair was almost completely silver only slightly darker than his son Aegon’s hair. His eyes were a pale lilac, very similar to how Rhaenys’s eyes had been (Queen Rhaenys);
- He was a scorpio - I mean dark, mysterious, vengeful, stubborn, a s$x god... need I say more?
- He didn’t like food a whole lot, especially not sweets and was a terrible eater as a child.
- He liked to tease Rhaenyra that when they grew old he would be very skinny and her very fat;
- He never got to say goodbye to his father Prince Baelon and it was something that haunted him;
- He was a great singer and dancer. As a child it was Alysanne who taught him how to dance;
-I t turned him on to watch women eat;
- His favourite colour was red, a bright red like Caraxes’s scales;
- He would let Rhaenyra braid his hair and he secretly liked it. The shortest he ever wore his hair was to his shoulders;
- He liked to watch himself doing something 😬 it’s easy to guess what;
- His favourite treat was roasted chestnuts with salt;
- He liked to sleep naked;
- He liked to say things to make Rhaenyra blush, especially when they were not alone;
- He kept calling Rhaenyra niece after their affair and after they married, his nickname for her was “my little dragon” - zaldrītsos. He also never called her “my love” and never allowed her to call him so. He thought it was too boring for them;
- He called his kids hatchlings when he was happy, and pests when they misbehaved. On that note when Rhaenyra annoyed him he called her “insufferable girl”.
Canon Only:
- He thought about visiting Rhaenyra when Rhea died but was told she was heavily pregnant so he went to Driftmark instead;
- Laena made him wait a while before they consummated their marriage saying she wanted to know him better. At first he was outraged but then amused and he took it like a fun game;
- He liked to touch Rhaenyra whenever Harwin was near to annoy him and made a point of telling him the two had been lovers and that Rhaenyra had asked Viserys to allow them to marry back in 112 AC;
- He laughed when he heard that Rhaenyra had rejected Criston’s advances and made a point to hint at this whenever they were near and Daemon was bored;
- When Laena lost their son and died he thought he was being punished for what he did to Viserys and said about his nephew. He considered never trying to have a son again. He shared it with Rhaenyra. When she said she had always thought she would be the one to give him the son he wanted, he kissed her - it was their first kiss since they were parted in 112 AC and he thought she was now a much better kisser (though he didn’t really like the reason);
- He gave Luke the dagger he used to cut Aemond’s eye. He gave Jace and Joffrey similar ones as well. It was a ploy to woo Rhaenyra and get her sons on his side;
- Rhaenyra told him that he had told her he had ordered Laenor’s death - he never did, but he had been drunk and didn’t really remember so he believed her. He didn’t like that she had as big a dirt on him as he had on her;
- He already knew Rhaenyra was pregnant with Aegon before she told him;
- Aegon III’s Targaryen necklace belonged to Daemon, he gave it to him when he left King’s Landing for the last time;
I think this is too much already 😬 I could go on but it’s too much XD I hope you like it though <3 sorry for the year I took! I have no excuse!
Headcanon Childhood & Marriage
please note: aemma's portrayal is heavily based on book canon, since the show gave us very little of her
Aemma was ten years old when she was sent to King’s Landing by her father, Lord Rodrik Arryn, who had previously agreed to betroth his daughter to prince Viserys the following year. To make her acquainted with the young prince and life at the Keep, it was agreed to take in the child and raise her at the capital from that day on. Given that Aemma was closest in age to Daemon, who was a year older than her, she spent more time with him than with her betrothed, but greatly enjoyed being at King’s Landing. She was very fond of her grandmother and uncle Baelon, as well as her cousin Rhaenys. At the age of one and ten, Aemma was married to her five year older cousin Viserys, but due to her age, not much changed after that day. She was not expected to share chambers with him, nor was she supposed to be anything other than a child. Her education continued and she found herself on several adventures with Daemon, who had a habit of persuading her into mischief.
Two years after her marriage vows were exchanged, Aemma bled for the first time and against the advice of the Grand Maester and his grandmother, Viserys took his young wife to his bed. The line of succession was up to much debate at this point and whilst Rhaenys already had a child, Viserys did not, so he found it important to secure his own line and conceive children with Aemma. Unfortunately, that proved harder than either one had anticipated, which the Maester also blamed on her age. In the first year after she turned into a woman, Aemma had several miscarriages, until at the age of four and ten, she finally gave birth to a son, who was named Aemon in honor of her uncle. Everyone was overjoyed upon the birth of the little prince and Aemma could not have loved him more. Sadly, a week into his life, Aemon died in the cradle and left his parents devastated.
At five and ten, Aemma gave birth to a baby girl, who she named Rhaenyra in honor of her favorite cousin Rhaenys. The little princess did not solve their need for a son, but she was very beloved nonetheless and doted on by both of her parents. Unlike her older brother, she thrived and survived infancy without any complications. Aemma was always cautious with her, did not allow many people to handle the babe and rarely left her out of sight. As Rhaenyra grew, she proved to be a healthy, happy little girl with the same temperament of her uncle Daemon. Always moving, always up to something. And though Aemma worried when she scaled trees and walls, she was glad that her daughter was strong and healthy enough to do so. Even though her marriage with Viserys was not a love match, the two grew contented with each other over the years. They were fond of each other and Aemma cared deeply for her husband, just as he cared for her. Their marriage was a happy one, in many ways, and the only point of argument was Viserys’ desperate desire for a son, which led Aemma to suffer more and more through the years and various pregnancies after Rhaenyra was born, none of which lasted longer than her fifth moon cycle. It was a great pressure that rested on the young woman’s shoulders and had she had a say in it, she would have not tried for another child. Her little girl was always enough for her and she often wished that the same had been true in the case of her husband, who undoubtedly loved his girl, but longed for more.
In 103 AC, the old King Jaehaerys passed away and Aemma became Queen consort. It was nothing she had expected, when she had been married to Viserys at the age of one and ten, but she did her best as Queen in the short 2 years that she lived to fill the position ( verse dependent. Aemma either dies when Rhaenyra is 8 in book lore or 14 according to the show ). In 105 AC she was pregnant once more and carried the babe to full term this time, something that gave everyone great hope. The pregnancy was miserable from beginning to end, however, and Aemma had a bad feeling about it. When her labor began, it did not feel like her experiences before and she could tell right away that something was amiss. After hours and hours of no progress, the decision was made to cut her open and save the babe, because the Maester was sure that she would die anyway. Aemma begged her husband not to do it, as the knife cut already into her, unwilling to leave her little girl alone in a world that swallowed women whole, but no one listened to her. And so Queen Aemma died at the age of three and twenty ( or eight and twenty in show canon ), and whilst her son Baelon lived at first, he only survived a day, before he followed his mother to the grave.
In your opinion, what kind of relationship would Davos Seaworth and “The Reader” Rodrik Harlaw have? Would they be buddies or nah?
Despite being decent people involved in the sea and who have lost sons fighting for their king, Rodrik and Davos have some fundamental differences that I think it would be hard for them to be friends. There’s the superficial difference of Davos finding it difficult to read and Rodrik having a whole tower of books and facing some mockery by other ironborn for always reading, which means it would be hard to find common ground at first (Rodrik and Pylos May get along better). But beyond that is their reactions toward losing their sons in the rebellion. Rodrik was against Balon’s rebellion in the first place, lost both his sons in the fighting, advised peace with Asha, is skeptical over Euron’s claims and gains in the reach; meanwhile Davos is Stannis’ #1 fan (affectionate), supports his claim as rightful king fully (if not his supporters or some of his ideas), while mourning his sons believed they died for a good cause, and is still putting his duty to Stannis over his family. Rodrik, if he’d been in Davos’ place, probably would’ve abandoned Stannis’ cause to go home once Salla offered (believing him fully defeated), and Davos probably wouldn’t have been in Rodrik’s place (he believes in Stannis or at least the man he was as the rightful, just king) since the Greyjoys wouldn’t give him a reason for him to owe them undying loyalty. But their differences in philosophy as well as demeanor—sure, Davos is friends with the fair weather Salladhor Saan, but they have a shared history as smugglers—as well as class make me think they wouldn’t be friends.
Any board game headcanons you care to share for the targ kids and any other characters you’d like?
Rhaenys: likes boardgames generally but always bores her family with anti-capitalist rants during monopoly. Dany is the only one who listens to these. Cyvasse fiend and she has a never ending online game going on with Tyrion.
Viserys: cheats at every single game and looses miserably. Prefers playing video games with Rhaenys and Quentyn.
Rhaella: cheats at every single game and does it so well that no one's realized shes cheating yet probably because she cheats to help her kids/grandkids win. Viserys few game wins come from Rhaella cheating for him.
Elia: becomes a merciless villain when she plays games. Knows some shady card tricks she picked up in a dodgy pub somewhere. She is where Aegon gets his kill impulse from.
Dany: likes role playing games but not such a big fan of card games. Has a very long dungeons and dragons campaign going with Rhaenys, Jon and some other friends. Aegon was uninvited because he [redacted] after his character was jumped by some people at an inn.
Ashara: cheats just to get under Arthur's skin and make him lose. Refuses to play cards against Elia anymore because she takes it way too seriously. Favourite game is charades and she forces people to play at get togethers.
Arthur: bores everyone with his rants about how he is too honourable to cheat. Fairly decent at scrabble.
Lord Dayne (eldest brother): an actual card shark. He could safely retire on his poker winnings but he enjoys the look of fear in his opponents eyes too much. The only one with nerve enough to play against Elia.
Allyria: gaslights Arthur by stealing his letters during scrabble.
Bonus:
Aeron Greyjoy - wins every single board game. ALL of them. He insists its the drowned gods favour but really he's just the smartest out of him Victarion and Balon. When Rodrik visits they play backgammon like the old men they are. Falia is trying to teach him cyvasse.
On the off chance you might be a Pokemon fan, which Pokemon (and its evolution if it has any) best fits our boy Theon? IDM
Hey, lovely! I wouldn’t really call myself a fan, since I’ve never played any of the games, but I did watch the cartoon when I was a little bean! I can give you my very amateur answer, as long as we’re talking only of the “classic” pokemon. You’re more than welcome to send your own headcanons to my askbox!
I think the perfect pokemon for Theon would be a Ditto, for its adaptability, except Theon would really hate the idea because it looks bad. It’s basically a blob, it doesn’t look badass enough (or cute, which is something he’d secretely want his pokemon to be). I’d think Theon would lean towards a water type just because it’s the type his whole family has, but maybe one that can move on land fairly easily, so none of the fish pokemon or the sea ones. Balon has an exceptionally aggressive Gyarados, so Theon is wary of them. Asha has a Vaporeon that he secretly thinks is cool, but if Asha has one then it’s too girly for him.
I think he’d probably seetle for a Squirtle and be very proud of it when it evolves. His Squirtle would have sunglasses like in the cartoon and other accessories, it’s a very fancy little turtle. In his heart, though, what he wants is a Rapidash.
