Just a question: will Branch still join Poppy in her quest in TWT ? And help her to stop the rock Apocalypse 👀👀?
I can already imagine him seeing Delta Dawn turning into a rock zombie 😢😢
He does join her! It is for a different reason though. Delta allows Branch to accompany Poppy in order to represent the country trolls. He plans to talk with Barb but doesn’t expect much as she seems unreasonable.
And ohhhh that’s so angsty I have to draw it. Branch does not cry, like at all. Doesn’t even shed a tear when he breaks an arm falling off their roof (he was cleaning the gutters). But when he sees Barb aim that guitar at his mom… dude loses it. That’s his ONLY family. The person who gave him a chance, a new life where he’s loved. Now she’s gone, taken without any remorse. Unfortunately his grief and anger distract him enough to get zombified as well. Whoops

What were Trollzart’s and Delta Dawn’s reaction in seeing Clay and Floyd being rock zombies???
OOOH good question... i think theyd be very reasonably upset because clay and floyd ARE their friends and frankly nobody likes seeing people they know turned into something theyre not but also like. they'd be in a very unique position where they as the tribe leaders were the ones who were supposed to keep the strings safe, and this is the direct result of them not being able to do that. so like, a lot of guilt, too. but also some fear i think? because this would be the first time theyd have seen firsthand what all six strings together could do

Where’s Barb in Wrath and Rain AU?
What happened to her?
To be honest I kind of miss half life AU- :’D
I understand it’s hard depending on your motivation and your ideas with AUs.
They all are awesome! :D
Barb... is generally kind of similar to canon but also not really?
She'd be with her dad. Idk how old she is in canon but here she's probably not that much older than Branch, so she'd be a teenager by the time the war starts up again. Nothing has really "happened" to her, although considering how she was in canon... she's probably a little crazier here and I imagine gets more involved in the resurgence with a whole attitude of feeling she has to take resistance down, get everyone to be rock zombies, etc.
She'll probably end up with a specific grudge against someone lol
Although since her dad hates JD so much, she does too.
Half Life is like... always in the back of my mind. Literally always. I got stuck on the next chapter of Breathe Again cause I lost my outline (sobbing) and I'm not entirely sure how the things were supposed to go in the chapter and it was kinda driving me crazy. Couple that with my burn out... (as you can tell, I have been able to outline stuff but not really write, write, sadly) it's been a whole mess. Wrath and Ruin is just an outline at this point but I'd like to finish Breathe Again... maybe gets some more shorts and oneshots cause there is plenty I'd love to talk about
Anyways, I know it's not much but I have this little Bowling oneshot wip that isn't finished so here is a snippet from Half Life....
John paid the attendant and moved towards the shoe counter, gathering everyone’s sizes and ordering them up before distributing them around to Spruce, Clay and Floyd. Clay took his shoes greedily and raced over to their assigned lane to put them on, not even sparing the rest of his family a glance before he ran towards the bowling balls to pick his. He found a green and yellow swirled one that seemed a perfect weight for him. He turned around, almost running into a bunch of red hair.
Delta Dawn, his brother’s best friend, turned to face him, her expression lighting up at the sight of him. “Clay! I didn’t know you were here.”
“John said we were going to go bowling,” he replied, plainly. “What are you doing here? Did JD invite you? Cause you can join us, obviously. I don’t think even Spruce would mind.”
It wasn’t exactly a secret that Spruce had the tiniest bit of a crush on Delta but Clay was pretty sure it was because of her red hair. Or the fact that she had the most amazing, voluminous hair any of them had ever seen. Spruce definitely liked his hair. Clay found it weird. He hated brushing his hair or even doing anything with his hair.
“I’m actually with…”
A guy came up by her side, looking down over her shoulder. Clay frowned, his brow furrowing as he looked at him a little closer. He was tall, a bit spindly, with dark hair and an angular face. He reminded Clay of someone but he wasn’t sure exactly. “Who are you?”
“Jim,” he replied slowly. “Who… are you?”
“Jim, this is Clay, my friend’s little brother. Clay, this is… this is my boyfriend, Jim,” Delta introduced, gesturing with her hand between the two of them.
Clay looked unimpressed. “Your boyfriend? I didn’t realize going on three dates meant that you were… going steady or whatever they call it these days.”
Jim snorted, amused. “You’re funny. I’ve heard a bit about you; Delta says you are quite the up and coming horse rider.”
“Equestrian,” Clay corrected immediately. “She’s… told you about us?”
#ask#half life au#wrath and ruin au#I'm so sorry ahhhhhh#for real I love half life tho#maybe i can sketch something about it tho???

New images from the new TWT's sneak peek:
First of all, I love how Branch and Poppy are the only ones who are composed enough to try to calm down everybody else. Also, the Troll on the ground on the right is a M O O D, gotta love him/her. XD
Now we know that Barb wants to turn other Trolls into Rock-zombies...? Whatever that means. Anyways, we see Delta Dawn, Trollex, Trollzart and Quincy&Essence zombified. And the Snack Pack on the top left, watching the scene.
Last but not least, I love the Reggaeton Trolls, especially their leader (I don't remember his name). Period. 😂 Branch is probably gonna team up with them and the K-Pop gang, since in the trailer the leader of the Reggaeton Trolls saying "I can't live without Reggaeton. [...] I'm listening, Pop Troll."

Do you still do trolls requests?? If so could I get a cute dickory x yodel troll reader where they reunite after the world tour and everyone’s like awwwwe
ABSOLUTELY!
Throughout you childhood, things had been a little rough. Thing was being a yodel troll, you were expected to be as loud as possible without causing a landslide. That was tough because you lived in the mountains. Little you had a voice louder than any other, and it was killing you inside that you couldn't use it. Then one day it started to change. There was one family that was always coming and going. A father and his two sons. He used to have a girl too, but you hadn't seen her in a while. The father was named Mouse Whiskers. Made sense since he was short and his hair had a way of pointing out and curving up a little. His younger son, Hickory, had his hair, but grew much taller and bulkier. Towering over his older father and older brother. The older son was named Dickory. He was short like his father, but had long hair that had a bit of a natural flow to it. You talked to them when they were there, quickly befriending the older one. The three of you would hang out and have all sorts of fun together. One day, you and Hickory were talking while Hickory played with his toy horses and you were trying to fix his wild hair.
"Now that I think about it, I've never heard you yodel that much. Why?" Dickory asked. You let out a sigh.
"Its not because I don't want to. Its that I'm to good at it."
"Excuse me?" Dickory gave you a confused look.
"I'm way to loud. I would have to hold myself back or I'd cause an avalanche." You explained.
"Oh. But that doesn't mean you can't yodel at all." Dickory pointed out.
"I hate holding myself back. Its really difficult and honestly I'd rather not make any kind of music at all if I have to hold myself back." You said. "I feel like I'm holding myself as a prisoner." You gave up on Hickory's hair. Dickory hummed and looked at one of Hickory's horses. He picked it up and held it in front of you.
"You see this horse?" He asked you. You nodded. "Now imagine the entire neck and head gone, and replace that with the top half of a troll." Dickory said.
"Uh, pardon me?" You asked.
"That's a country troll!" Hickory exclaimed.
"SHHHHSHSH!" Dickory shushed Hickory and looked around. "We're not supposed to tell anyone but...there are other kinds of music that exist out there. A whole bunch! There's Pop, Funk, Techno, Reggaeton, Hard Rock, and so many more! Including Country. We haven't just been traveling. We've been visiting our mom in Lonesome Flats. She's a Country Troll. You live with your auntie right?" Dickory asked.
"Uh...yeah. But she doesnt watch me. I once left for a whole week and she had ni clue. I just have a bed there." You said.
"Then come with us on our next trip. We'll take you to Lonesome Flats and you could live their instead! You won't have to worry about being to loud or causing landslides. Though you'd have to sing Country instead of Yodeling and you'd be expected to be a hard worker." Dickory explained.
"Are you kidding!?! Yes! Absolutely!" You exclaimed and hugged him. "Thank you, Dickory. You're the best." You said and kissed him on the cheek. You didn't notice his blush.
The very next day, you hid inside of the wagon as the family made their way to Lonesome Flats.
"(Y/N), come on out. We're here." Dickory said. You tumbled out onto the dirt.
"Woah." You said as you looked at the small town. "This is where your mama lives?" You asked. Dickory nodded.
"Yeah...though I haven't seen her yet...she usually meets us here." You and Dickory wondered off in different directions. You walked towards the center of the town where there seemed to be a party of some sorts. Dickory wasn't kidding. These trolls were half troll and half horse. It was so cool! You saw a little Country troll with red hair and a green tail around your age. She was dancing and seemed to be enjoying herself. You skipped up to her and tapped her on the shoulder. She rurned to you in surprise.
"Hi, I'm (Y/N)." You said.
"Well Howdy, (Y/N)! My name is Delta Dawn. Nice to meet ya!" Delta held out her hand. You shook it. "What brings you out here to Lonesome Flats?" Delta asked.
"Well...I was hoping to move here." You said.
"Move here? Dontcha have a mama and papa?" She asked. You shook your head. "Oh. Well I can talk to my papa. He's the mayor round here. He might just be able to help you out. She said and galloped away. You looked around to fund Dickory and Hickory, but you didn't see them anywhere. You skipped up to a random country troll and asked if they knew where they went.
"Them Yodelers? Ah. Their mama died. So their papa took em and left. Good riddance."
"Dickory is gone?" You asked.
"Yeah. Why? He was a friend of yours or something?" He asked. You nodded and walked away. Their was a feeling in your chest that was hard to describe. It felt like there was a weight and it hurt inside. It didn't physically hurt but...it did? You were confused.
"I fall to pieces." You began singing. "How can I be just your friend? You want me to forget, pretend that we never met!" Your voice became louder. Thankfully, you had walked away far enough from the other trolls so that they couldn't hear you. "And I'll try I'LL TRY! BUT I HAVEN'T YET! NOW YOUR GONE! And I fall to pieces." You sang.
Delta Dawn talked to her papa. You told him everything about how and why you came. He decided to take you in as his own. The three of you bonded and you fit right in as the younger daughter. Delta made sure than you didn't live in her shadow and pushed you to yodel in front of the others and NEVER hold back. You sang and yodeled until your throat was sore. The Country trolls absolutely adored your voice and were impressed by how loud you could be. You missed Dickory and his little brother. You thought about him every night. You were still sad you never got to say goodbye or thank him. It was all because of him you were a yodeling country troll.
You grew into a strong woman. There was never a man or woman who caught your heart like Hickory once did, so you had an egg on your own and had a little baby girl. You ended up naming her Clampers. She'd spend a lot of time with you, her aunt Delta, and your cousin Growly Pete. She was a wild one and would sometimes ate random objects. You still loved her anyways. You were surprised to find her born with four legs instead of two like you, but you had to assume it was bbecause you grew up in Country, so her body adapted to it before she hatched. She spent time with Delta a lot since you'd scout the outskirts of Lonesome Flats for predators and such. You were the one who showed Delta the letter from Barb after a weird looking bat gave it too you. You rounded up more of the Country trolls to prepare for the attack and left Clampers with Delta. Your voice almost stopped Barb.
Almost.
"CLAMPERS! DELTA!" You screamed. You couldn't do anything but watch in horror as Barb turned everyone, including your sister and precious little girl into rock zombies. You were kept tied in chains near the center of the stage. Barb was pointing her guitar towards you.
"Don't worry. You're joining them." Barb said.
"No!" A voice called out and a small figure jumped out in front of you. When they broke out of the rock, you couldnt believe it. There was no way. They turned towards you. Their red eyes staring straight into your soul.
"Dickory?" You whispered. You were in so much shock, you hadn't realized that there was a fight going on onstage until the strings were broken amd drained you of your color. You fell to the ground, feeling weak. The chains slipped off and you felt gourseld being sat up.
"Mama?" Clampers asked, sitting in your lap. You held her in your arms and looked to see Dickory helping you up.
"Dickory?" You asked.
"I'm here, (Y/N)." Dickory said. You pressed your forehead against his and sighed, closing your eyes. Then you heard it, your heartbeats. You looked at the crowd and saw everyone's hearts lighting up and making music. You chuckled. Of course. I mean, you yodeled without a yodeling string, right? Delta Dawn made her way over to you and the four of you started to line up with the other leaders as you all started to sing. Even Hickory left the crowd to join you onstage. You didn't hold back a single bit. You sang and laughed with you childhood friends, just like old times.
"I missed you two so much!" You hugged both of them after the song was over.
"Yeah, we missed ya too." Hickory said.
"Look at you! Youve grown so big!" You giggled and then turned to Dickory. "And you, haven't changed a bit." You smiled at him.
"Really? Not at all?" Dickory smirked.
"Nope. Your still short as hell. And handsome. I guess you did grow more hair though." You laughed.
"Haha! That's what I thought waitwhat?" Dickory asked. Before he knew it, you picked him up and kissed him. He completely melted into it.
"EWW! MAMA!" Clampers exclaimed.
"Aww thats so cute!" You heard Queen Poppy say. You realized that everyone was looking in your direction and "Awwing" at the two of you.
"Well, if you take out all the people staring, I could get used to this." Dickory pulled you back into the kiss.
"Ah jeez get a room." Hickory rolled his eyes and walked away.
I apologize for it being so long, but if I'm doing a request, I freaking COMMIT to it. Though I admit I MIGHT have gone a teeny bit over the top with this? I hope you still enjoy though.

Smoke Break: The Best of The Week
Chance The Rapper. Photo: Courtesy of Live Nation
This week acts like Chance The Rapper, The New Pornographers, Mitski, and The Weeknd will all be here while local acts like Los Skarnales and Rough Sleepers fill in the gaps. Houston, here’s how to map out the next week.
Wednesday you can begin at Discovery Green for the Party on the Plaza with the always amazing energy of Los Skarnales. These guys have been playing with intensity for long enough to have reached legendary status, and their latest release, Another Day, Another Borrachera, is like a party for your ears. The funky blues mixture of Houston’s Muddy Belle will open things up for the 100% FREE all ages affair that gets going at 7 pm.
San Fermin. Photo: Denny Renshaw
You might not think that a seven-piece orchestral electro pop band would be intriguing, but you’d be wrong, which is why you should head upstairs to White Oak Music Hall to see Brooklyn’s San Fermin. I would say that any band this committed to a sound should be commended and they’re seriously getting bigger by the day. Their album from last year, Belong, is a mix of catchy pop and gorgeous undertones. The immense and deep electronica of Iceland’s Low Roar will be on as direct support and opener for the all ages show with doors at 7:30 pm with $15 tickets.
On Thursday the iconic sixties British rock of The Zombies will be over at Heights Theater. These guys have hits like “Time of The Season,” “She’s Not There,” and “This Will Be Our Year,” amongst so many more. I shouldn’t have to oversell this show, as these guys are pretty amazing, and scientifically, this could be your last chance to see them if you’re a fan. There’s no support or openers because they’ll play a lengthy time for the all ages show with doors at 7 pm and tickets between $44 and $336, the latter being a VIP seated option with four tickets total.
Waxahatchee. Photo: Jesse Riggins
Downstairs at White Oak Music Hall, the indie rock meets pop sensibility of Canada’s The New Pornographers will perform. Aside from the fact that Neko Case is in this band, they’re one of the strongest live acts you can see today. Their latest, Whiteout Conditions, is their best to date, and since they don’t tour much, you might want to make it out. The indie folk rock of Waxahatchee will be on as direct support and opener, and with a new album coming up, you should hear some of her new material. The all ages show has doors at 7 pm and tickets between $29 and $33.
Over at Walter’s, the indie pop rock of Chicago five piece The Walters will swing by to play. That’s right, a band with the same name of the club they’re playing at is actually happening. Aside from that, these guys make catchy tunes and their new track “She’s Gonna’ Leave You” is as hook heavy as their last album Young Men. The beach pop of Austin’s Summer Salt will be on hand as direct support while the lush and gorgeous indie rock of Galveston’s El Lago will open the all ages show with doors at 8 pm and an $8 cover.
Satellite Bar will have the intensity of Finland’s Foreseen over to probably break some things. These guys make thrash that sounds like what DRI always wanted to sound like, and their latest album Grave Danger is pretty epic. San Antonio’s Bloodhound will be on as direct support while the death metal of Houston’s Skourge will go on beforehand. The hardcore punk of Houston’s United Races will go on prior, and Erupt will open the all ages show with a $10 cover and doors at 8 pm.
The Secret Group will have the Draughts and Laughs show hosted by Stephen Brandau. While Stephen is a funny guy, this inventive comedy show has a new beer every month for you to take on a test drink, as well as plenty of funny comics. The 21 & up show has a $12 cover that includes a souvenir pint glass and two drafts of 11 Below Brewery beer for this month’s show.
Webb Wilder. Photo: David McClister
Continental Club will host the entertaining mud rock of Nashville’s Webb Wilder. Wilder plays country-tinged and blues-minded throwback rock, he’s known to be a force to be reckoned with live, and his latest album Mississippi Moderne is like if Hank Thompson made an early Beatles album. The 21 & up show has doors at 8 pm and a $20 cover.
Chicago’s NE-HI will bring their indie rock to life upstairs at White Oak Music Hall. These guys make pop-influenced indie rock that’s all over their new album Offers and they’re rumored to put on an impressive live show. Houston’s Young Girls will bring their energy heavy indie rock on as direct support and Since Always will open things up with their new wave indie rock for the all ages show with doors at 8 pm and tickets between $10 and $13.
Friday, you can get started at Nightingale Room for the Cinco de Mayo celebration hosted by Marco Torres. If you don’t know this guy, you’ve at least seen his photos of bands, or maybe he’s in front of you at a taco stand right now. That’s not a slight on him as he was involved in the stellar book Tacos of Texas and he can tell you the best tacos in every Texas city. He’ll host DJ sets from Gio Chamba, Gracie Chavez, and Felipe Galvan of Los Skarnales. The 21 & up event gets going around 5 pm and it’s 100% FREE.
Tanya Tucker. Photo: Jeremy West
Out in the Woodlands at Dosey Doe, one of the Queens of Country, Tanya Tucker, will be at the Big Barn to perform. Tucker had her first hit when she was 13, she’s a legend in all aspects, and with hits like “Delta Dawn,” “Love Me Like You Used To,” and “Texas (When I Die),” you shouldn’t miss this set. Sonia Langham will open things up for the all ages show with doors at 6 pm. Tickets range between $108 and $178 and include dinner, served from 6 pm to 7:30 pm.
Rockefeller’s will host the EP release for Genesis Blu‘s latest album, Bluming Season. Blu is one of the best new rappers in Houston and she’ll be on fire at this show with a live band backing her. The show also has surprise guests with doors at 7 pm for the all ages and 100% FREE show.
Civic TV will have the album release party for Rough Sleepers while the show will get headlined by LA’s Behavior. Behavior is one of those bands that’s a mix of no wave, post punk and traditional punk that’s hard to ignore, while their album 375 images of Angels is something you need to hear for yourself. Rough Sleepers will be on as direct support for the release party of their album Savage Dream, which should blow the minds of everyone in attendance. Blue Dolphin opens the all ages BYOB show with doors at 8 pm with a $7 cover.
White Oak Music Hall upstairs will host the album release for funk of Houston’s Brothers Grymn. Their album, Summer Sessions, is pretty tight and funky and should sound impressive live. Houston’s Kyle Hubbard serves as direct support with his intense mic skills. Doors are at 8 pm with tickets between $8 and $10.
Out at Redneck Country Club, Los Lonely Boys will be on hand to help you celebrate Cinco de Mayo. These guys are pretty amazing live, they definitely don’t come here enough, and their last album Revelation still holds up. The poetic tunes of Lisa Morales will be on as direct support while the country twang of Gilmer, Texas’ Curtis Grimes will open the all ages show with tickets between $30 and $70 with doors at 8 pm.
John Evans. Photo: Brandon Holley
Rudyard’s will have a barn burner when the never disappointing twangy rock of Houston turned Austin transplant, John Evans will be on hand to perform. Evans’ last album, Polyester, was one of my favorites from last year, his live shows are incredibly fun, and he’s one of Houston’s best acts. The classic country fun of Opie Hendrix will be on as direct support and opener for the 21 & up show with doors at 9 pm and an $8 cover,
On Saturday over at Toyota Center you could stop by to catch R&B jams of The Weeknd. This guy is so impressive that I’ll just say that his latest Starboy is like Michael Jackson without sounding lifted, and his live shows are just as impressive. There’s no word of support or openers for the all ages show with doors at 6:30 pm and tickets between $39.50 and $150.
Charlie Faye & The Fayettes. Photo: Eryn Brooke
Mucky Duck will host the return of Austin’s Charlie Faye and the Fayettes. Complete with doo wop overtones, this group brings you back to the ’60s, as if Carole King made a Motown album. They’re known for intimate performances and their latest release, Charlie Faye & The Fayettes from last year, is one you shouldn’t miss. The 21 & up show has doors at 7 pm and tickets between $20 and $22.
Downstairs at White Oak Music Hall, you could get your doom fix when Austin’s The Sword make their return to town. Here in support of their latest two releases, High Country from 2015 and Low Country from last year, these guys have always swung the doom hammer harder than most. The roots sounds of Austin’s Croy and The Boys will be on as direct support and openers for the all ages show with doors at 8 pm and tickets between $19 and $23.
Holy Wave. Photo: Allison Scarpulla
Over at Walter’s you could get groovy with the psych rock sounds of Austin’s Holy Wave. These guys are always a trip to catch live and their latest release, Freaks of Nurture from last year, is their strongest so far. The psych sounds and beats of San Francisco’s Al Lover will be on hand as direct support while Houston’s Mojave Red will bring their bluesy chillwave psych sounds on as openers for the all ages show with doors at 8 pm and tickets for $10.
Satellite Bar will host the legendary metal goodness of The Obsessed. With Wino on vocals, this reunited version of the Maryland-based band feels like they should be in a much bigger room while their new album Sacred is a nice return to form. The stoner rock of Karma To Burn will be on hand as direct support while the stoner doom of Ohio’s Lo Pan will go on prior. The doom metal insanity of Houston’s Doomstress will open the all ages show with doors at 8 pm and tickets for $20.
Nikki Hill. Photo: Intrepid Artists
I’d recommend swinging by Continental Club however to catch the soulful sounds of North Carolina’s Nikki Hill. Backed by musicians from all over, including Houston, Hill toured across the globe in support of her raucous album Heavy Hearts Hard Fists while earning a reputation as a force to be reckoned with in a live setting. Austin’s Tomar & the FCs will open the 21 & up show with doors at 9 pm with a $15 ticket price.
On Sunday, you could make the trek to the Woodlands Pavilion to catch the enigmatic sounds of Chicago’s Chance The Rapper. This guy has seriously blown up all without the support of a label, his live shows are intense, and his latest Coloring Book is really amazing. Rumor has it that the show is sold out, but if there are tickets available, they’ll be between $30 and $139.95 with gates at 7 pm.
Tuesday you could make it over to House of Blues to catch the hip hop of DC’s Wale. Known for being one of the strongest rappers in the country, this guy sells out most of his shows while his latest drop, The Album About Nothing from 2015, is about as immense as it is catchy. There’s no word of openers or support though that may change before the show itself with doors at 7 pm and tickets for $30.
Mitski. Photo: Ebru Yildiz
You could also head over to Walter’s for the massively popular sounds of Mitski. Defying the rules of the music industry, Mitski does her own thing with an almost DIY ethic while selling out shows across the globe. Her latest release, Puberty 2 from last year, proves that truly independent based indie rock can still strive. The intriguing electro experimental music of Helado Negro will be on hand as direct support while the bedroom garage pop of Edinburgh, Texas’ Jesika will open the all ages show with doors at 8 pm and tickets between $12 and $15.
That’s about all happening around town this week. No matter what you do, please remember that drinking like an adult is best for everyone, so choose the safest way home, please.
