If I made every single idea I had for a tadc au real I think everyone would hate me because so far I got:

- Another sci-fi au where the circus crew are neo-techwear cyberpunk hunters hunting down abstractions (also the rough concept for what is now known as the Lifeline AU)

- A steampunk-ish Wild west au where Pomni is an outlaw and Caine is the local sheriff. They go from enemies to lovers and their ship name is "Showdown" lmao

- A steampunk vampire hunter AU inspired by the Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Slayer movie where Caine trains the crew to become expert vampire slayers

- A lowkey crack, not-even-treated-seriously Aladdin AU where Gangle is Princess Jasmine, Zooble is Aladdin, Jax is Jafar, Kinger is the Sultan, Ragatha is the head of the royal guard, Pomni is Gangle's handmaiden and Caine is the Genie (Gangle, Jax and Zooble end up in a poly relationship. Because I ship these three.)

- A Detective story where Caine is a Noir Private Investigator hired to solve Kaufmo's murder and everyone is a suspect; but he spends too much time monologuing and everyone keeps telling him to shut up about his "internal thoughts"

- A human AU separate from Reunion where they're online streamers. Some of them are gamers, some are influencers and etc.

- A post-apocalypse au where Pomni awakens from a cryogenic pod to find her memories missing, and only Caine on a screen to accompany her. Together, they scour the overgrown city, in search for other survivors and hopefully, get some answers.

- A Steampunk AU where the gang is on a blimp, in search of "adventure".

- A crack self-aware AU where the Digital Circus cast knows they're just fictional characters, and as such, when the audience focus is not on them, they do whatever shit they want imaginable

- A Helltaker AU where Pomni ventures into a circus hell to get some demon gals for her dream harem.

- A singular roleswap concept where Caine and Pomni switch positions, making Pomni the new ringmaster, and Caine the new jester. Everyone else stays the same. Both realize their new positions suck hard ass and try to find a way to get things back the way they were because this is not just it girl

- Another roleswap concept, but this time; everyone retains their original personality with no changes.

- A Dark, toxic showtime AU, where Caine stalks an escaped Pomni and makes her irl existence a living hell in every way possible, so she'll have no choice but to go back and be entirely dependent on him

- Digital Artists AU where everyone goes to a digital art school. Caine is the one teacher that eats paint. All the AIs are staff/teachers.

- Archaeologist AU where everyone struggles to prove most myths are real. But then they find Caine, a mysterious, limitless being of unknown origins that was "mummified" and kept locked for unknown reasons. He offers to be their treasure guide, if they let him have fun. Chaos ensues.

- A Night at the Museum AU where Pomni is the newly hired night guard facing the horrors of museum collections being alive at night

- Crack Spy AU inspired by Johnny English and The Kingsmen. Everyone sucks at being a spy. They should all just quit ngl but the pay is good and they technically still do their jobs in the end, so-

- Steampunk Pirates AU where Caine is the Captain. All hell breaks loose as the crew tries not to go insane.... or get scurvy.

- A robot-fighting human AU inspired by Real Steel. The digital circus designs are the robots that the circus cast has

- Urban Legends AU of Caine documenting and trying to prove the existence of mythological creatures, and tries to find a way to establish communication or even befriending them.

- Dark Hearts AU inspired by my own oc au concept

- Fantasy sci-fi AU similar to Arknights

WARNINGS: violence, swearing, Buggy being angry.

After revealing your ability to knock a guy down with just a couple of blows, your pretensions of going unnoticed within the crew have become quite impossible. You have caught the attention of Buggy, who on the one hand seems quite interested in your skills, but on the other is somewhat suspicious of you. And no wonder, in his eyes you have gone from being a helpless young girl to a killing machine, that has to confuse anyone. 

The day after what happened in the tavern he calls you to his cabin. It's the first time you've been alone with him since you found him that night in the ship's hold. You are very nervous, not because he might blow your cover but because he is so close to you. Buggy is not an overly muscular man but he is very tall, at least two feet taller than you. It was something you hadn't paid much attention to until now. Having him so close to you makes your chest tighten, making you feel ridiculous. 

"So tell me, Y/N.... why hadn't it occurred to you to tell me that you can finish a man off in half a minute?"

Buggy's voice sounds soft, almost seductive. He's using a patronizing tone. You've been watching him long enough over the past few months to know it's his way of hiding an impending anger.

"Do you think i'm an idiot?" There he is, he's just pulled out the genie. He abruptly turns to you and approaches, positioning himself dangerously close. "Tell me, do i look like a joke to you?"

You should be nervous about having to come up with some excuse but actually all you can think about is that you see him as a very kissable person. Obviously, you can't say that. 

"Did you really think I'm gonna believe the story of you not minding important to tell me about your fighting skills?"

"I..."

"Tell me the truth, Y/N. Now."

Buggy comes dangerously close to your face, his nose almost brushing against yours. He must think your nervousness is because he's caught you, but the truth is your heart is going so fast because you're holding him so close and it feels like a sin not to eat his mouth. Every day that passes your desire for him grows and at times like this you find it hard to control yourself.

"Well?" he insists, getting impatient. 

You snap back to reality, you must answer something. You sigh, perhaps the best thing to do is to tell the truth.

"Okay..." you nod, pulling away from him a little. You can't center your head holding him so close, his scent clouding your sense. "I had foster parents, they were Marines. They were working as undercover agents, but they ended up in prison for treason or something. When they were arrested my sister and I escaped, but we ended up as slaves and were bought by a horrible guy who was in the business of training children to sell them as mercenaries in the future. I was one of the best, escaped from there, got my own life and blah, blah, blah..."

You were not good at telling stories but that time you have excelled, you have told it with such reluctance that anyone would say that you are summarizing a very boring novel. Buggy stares at you for a few seconds before bursting out laughing. You don't understand what's so funny, maybe you don't like to make a big deal out of it because your personal traumas have turned you into a kind of emotional robot, but it's not to make fun of other people's misfortunes either. 

"Do you really expect me to believe something like that?" 

Wow, so that's what it is, the truth has seemed too far-fetched for him. Well, good for you. 

"I have to admit, you're a good storyteller. You could use that talent for some show." You stifle a smile, one of the things you like most about that fool is how sometimes he doesn't know anything. "But I want the truth, Y/N, or we'll have a problem."

You sigh. Fuck, that's lazy, now you'll have to make something up. 

"My father was a former marine" you lie "I was trained by him." 

Buggy grimaces.

"Yes, of course the earlier story was much more interesting, it had more drama."

"I thought if I told that my father had been in the Navy you wouldn't want me in your crew" you shrug. Well, in the end a boring, simple excuse was the most convincing. 

Buggy stares at you, weighing whether to buy your excuses or not. 

"Okay, I believe you" he nods. He folds his arms and leans slightly towards you, speaking menacingly "But I hate it when people try to make a fool out of me." 

"I never have ever intended anything like that" Actually at first you did. 

"Are you sure?"

"Fuck, of course yes!" You exclaim, exasperated, stepping completely out of your role. 

Buggy pulls back, confused by your reaction. 

"What, you're offended?" he asks, incredulous "I'm the one who has the right to be angry here!"

"For God's sake, Buggy, stop thinking the whole fucking world wants to fucking laugh at you."

You've never said swear words in front of him before, nor spoken in such a rude manner. It's the first time you show him your true personality and he seems quite surprised. And a bit angry, to be honest. 

"You're obsessed with what fucking people think. Fuck it, people are bullshit." 

"How dare you talk to me like that, don't you know who I am?"

"Of course I know, everyone knows. You love make everyone know" you reply, a bit fed up now "I'm just telling you the truth."

"You don't seem very enthusiastic, maybe you don't like being on this crew anymore."

You fold your arms, he's not the only one who can be proud and stubborn, you've always been known for that too. 

"Maybe not."

Buggy's gaze seems to be on fire with rage. He's really furious. 

"Well, get the hell out then."

"No!"

That really knocks him off his feet.

"No?"

Your tone has dropped considerably, regaining your composure. 

"I'm not leaving." 

"May I ask what the hell is wrong with you?"

At this point in the conversation, and considering that you've already discovered too many cards to give up the game, perhaps it's time to tell the truth. But the one that matters. The stuff about you working as a bounty hunter or that your goal was to kidnap him is not something that seems relevant to you.

You take a breath, take a deep breath and stare at him. 

"I like you" you reply matter-of-factly.

Buggy stares at you as if he has just seen a ghost. He's speechless, that's quite a feat coming from someone who is incapable of shutting his mouth for more than two minutes. He opens his mouth slightly to say something but he can't, he gets stuck. Your confession has completely thrown him off, right now so many things are going through his head that he is unable to manage. 

"I don't care about being a pirate" since you confess, you decide to confess completely "but I like you and I don't want to leave the ship. So stop accusing me like that, it doesn't sit well with me."

Not that it feels too good to your self-esteem to see the horrified look on Buggy's face at this point, but it feels genuinely good. You've finally let it out, you've been holding it inside for so long that it's been a lump in your throat.

"Your .... Eh.... Me?" It's the only thing Buggy finds himself able to utter. 

The idea being liked by someone is not something that crosses his mind often. Buggy can brag about all his exploits and constantly bravado about his abilities, but he has always felt considerably inferior than many of his peers. He knows he inspires fear, terror even, that some of his disciples look up to him but... liking him? Why would you like him? You're quite a bit younger and very pretty. In fact you don't know it, but more than one member of the crew has commented to him once or twice that they finds you very attractive. He's sure it's a ruse or something to confuse him, there's no way you really could like him. 

"Look, I'm not going waste more time, this is a childish conversation" You tell him, once you've made your confession it's like all the nerves and fear have disappeared. You are you again. "When you calm down you look for me"

And then you make the decision to do something you've been wanting to do for weeks. You were taught that if you decide something you have to go all the way, that has always been your character. So you approach Buggy, stand on tiptoe and give him a light kiss on the lips. He stands still, motionless, like a statue. You look into those eyes that enchant you and say:

"I really wanted to do that, I'm sorry." 

And with that said you leave, returning to the deck. Buggy stares at you, static, unable to react.

MUTATIONS

Sharing my headcanons about mutations. I like to think that the world of BS is filled with weird radiations, causing most of, if not all of the brawlers to mutate. These causes them to gain superhuman abilities to varying degrees, depending on the amount of radiation they were exposed to :

This list explains what type of mutation I think the brawlers have, a lot of these placements are arguable because I didn't want to spend hours thinking about it. I just want to communicate what the different types of mutations are, so :

-Natural low : All the "living" brawlers are naturally born with at least a small amount of mutation, which all gives them better strengh and endurance, as well as a very good healing factor. These brawlers have no special abilities beyond the default ones I just cited, their skills generally come from training, magic practice or tool use. Most of the brawlers of the people in the BS world are born into this category.

-Natural high : These are the brawlers born with a higher amount of radiation exposure, giving them enhanced natural strengh or intelligence compared to the previous ones. Still, their abilities are considered to be relatively normal. They're generally younger, because the radiation amount in the land is growing with time, but it's not always true.

-Induced low : These brawlers have a high amount of mutation due to an exposure after their birth (accident, experiment, voluntary exposure...). After exposure, their physical abilities increase as expected, but they also sometimes gain abilities that are considered supernatural (doubles, portals, pyrokinesis). Some of them are also recognizable because of their unnatural hair and eye colours.

-Induced high : These are the brawlers who's exposure was so intense that it drastically changed their appearance. The transformation depends on the environnement, some people become monster-like, others turn into undead. For animals or plants, they gain human-like features and intelligence.

-Induced very high : These are objects that gained life after a huge amount of exposure, no one really knows how this can even happen. It's arguable for the robots though, they might not be alive, just deviating from their basic protocol because of a glitch/tampering.

-None : These guys aren't mutants, let me explain : L&L, R-T and Tick are just built like that, Gene is just a mighty genie (or at least I hope he is) and Eve isn't from earth, she's just a regular alien.

-Special cases : I'll go over them one by one : Jacky isn't mutated herself (she would be in natural high or low), BUT her drill is, so I put her here. Sprout is half-robot, half-plant so it's difficult to decide where he would really fit in. And for the enchanted forest guys, it's hard to tell if they themselves are mutated, but, the vegetation overtaking them definetely is.

You're right about the other villains not having as much depth as Octavian. With most of them, we don’t even know their backstories!

I should make a list of the villains that have somewhat of a backstory/motivation:

Dr. Hare: Dr. Harvey Hare was the lead scientist for NISS (National Institute of Silly Sciences). There he engineered a top-secret mind control device. The device malfunctioned during testing on a bunny rabbit, fusing him with it.

Copy Cat: Copy Cat made millions selling illegally copied music, but she was caught when she offered a bootlegged computer game to an undercover agent.

Sir Rebral: Sir Rebral believes he is descended from royalty. He was apprehended while stealing the crown jewels from the Queen of Arturus from Astro-Knights Island.

Speeding Spike: Spike was a car thief, and loved speeding.

Ratman: Ratman used trained rats to help him steal money and jewels, but his pets "ratted" on him, leading to his imprisonment.

Crusher: Crusher once stole a monster truck and smashed cars in a parking lot for fun.

Betty Jetty: Betty Jetty was a pilot who flew without a license.

Director D: He is bald and is embarrassed that he is bald, so he wants everyone to be bald too.

Vince Graves: Vince is a renegade archaeologist who is often found in Egypt looking for rare artifacts, and is willing to steal artifacts if necessary. When he finds something valuable, he quickly sells it to the highest bidder and then leaves.

Binary Bard: Mordred (Binary Bard's original name) brought technology to the Kingdom of Arturus. His unnatural experiments (aka cyborgs) led to his imprisonment. Mordred escaped prison and fled into space. His unfinished ship crashed on Pewter Moon, where he was gravely injured. He rebuilt himself as part man, part machine in order to survive, becoming the space tyrant Binary Bard.

Gretchen Grimlock: Gretchen Grimlock is the wealthy owner of Gretchen's Beauty Products, Inc. Her company uses endangered plants and animals in its products. One day while searching for a rare orchid she was attacked by Bigfoot, which caused her to start hunting cryptids.

The Shogun: He and his brother Basho trained as Samurai, but Basho decided to become good and left to be a ninja. Basho was angry at his brother for leaving, and stayed with the Samurai, eventually becoming a tyrant ruling over old Japan. 

Mr. Silva: He wanted to be a fireman. But now he's stuck as a science teacher.

Holmes: Holmes was a robot created by the scientist Dr. Harold Langley to compete in game shows. Eventually he became resentful that Langley was getting all the praise.

Henry Flatbottom: Henry was best friends with Valiant, but he also had a crush on Valiant's girlfriend Fiona. Years after Fiona rejected him, Henry used his power (he's the magistrate) to organize Valiant's death so Fiona could choose him instead.

Count Bram: He was turned into a vampire, and tried for years to come up with a cure for it. Eventually his wife died (because she's a human) and Bram lost his mind.

Mark Hertz: Used to work at Poptropica Headquarters, but left for MegaFightingBots because Poptropica wouldn't allow children to type anything in order to chat with each other.

Ringmaster Raven: Bird Boy was an orphan who was born with avian-esque features. He was used as a side-show attraction in a carnival until he was left behind at a town (accidentally or intentionally). Some time later, Bird Boy was accused of burning down a shop, although it is very heavily suggested that he was most likely framed by the real arsonist. He went into hiding until he was caught, and was driven out of the town as a result.

Myron Van Buren: MVB is the last living descendant of the legendary Van Buren hunting family. He became obsessed with proving his worth.

Scheherazade: Scheherazade and her father were poor traders. One day, her father found a genie lamp, and wished to be a sultan and his daughter a princess. The Sultan became obsessed with the genie and his new wealth, forgetting about Scheherazade, causing her to eventually run away and form the Forty Thieves.

Chthonians: The Chthonians were at war with the Mole People for centuries, but only because the Moles took one of their eggs (the Moles not knowing what it was).

Rumpelstiltskin: The Red Queen captured him and kept him locked in the treasury/prison for years.

Dr. Gramston: Dr. Gramston was a dentist on the Blandside, but her business was failing because half of the townspeople (the Goofside residents) refused to brush their teeth. One day Gramston fell through a hole in her office into the sewers, where she discovered the magical crystals that could turn things goofy or bland. She created a plot to turn the entire island bland.

So first wish..hm...weeeell. I mean, it’d probably be something for Kaden. Obviously. Maybe like, I don’t know... making sure they’re always happy? But not in a creepy ‘forced to be happy all the time’ way because that sounds...bad. more like, things work out for them, you know? They don’t have to deal with stress or bad days or uh...people who suck. Yeah. That’d be good. A Kaden Happiness Guarantee!!

Second wish..hmmm I mean, I could go with something cool like super strength or, I don’t know, fire powers or something, but honestly.. I think I’d just want to make sure Kaden and I get as much time together as possible. If there’s some kind of cosmic timer or whatever on how long we get to be together, I’d want to add, like, several decades to that... Or centuries. Or....is ‘forever’ an option? That’s probably pushing it... right? Hmm....ahem...M-Moving on.

Third wish...uh, oh. This one’s tricky. ‘Cause, like, I feel like I should say something cool or useful ornot embarrassing...but my brain is currently a high-speed train wreck so. Uhhh. Maybeeee.... OH! Maybe I could wish for the ability to always say the right thing because clearly that’s not a skill I have naturally. i imagine how much easier life would be if I wasn’t just out here accidentally humiliating myself every other conversation. That’d be nice... but also, what if I still manage to mess it up? What if the wish just makes me sound like a weird robot or something? Ugh...maybe not...

…Okay, maybe I should just use the third wish for, like, unlimited snacks or something. That’s a safe wish. Snacks don’t make me question my entire existence and they're tasty AND I can share them with Kaden~

LittleBigBat's Favorites Brawler

Sure, yeah, let's call it that.

So I mentioned this concept at the end of MultiVersus MWs post, and I've talked about it plenty over on GameFAQs, but it's basically a crossover platform fighter akin to Smash, PSASBR, or MVS itself but with my own favorite franchises.

(I also mentioned it a few days ago when I was being horny for the Male Wii Fit Trainer, lamenting how I couldn't include him or the female trainer on the roster per my own rules for inclusion).

As such, this post will be covering the franchises included, ranging from the ones that have fighters on the roster, to the ones repped by stages and items. Also to note are "sub-franchises", which are ones that are linked to an overall bigger IP (like the Riordanverse or DC Comics). There's only a handful of these, and I'll cover them when I get to their base IP.

Starting off is this sort of "Core Five", some of my tippy-top favorite things ever: Percy Jackson / Camp Half-Blood / Riordanverse, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, DC Comics, Hatchetfield, and LittleBigPlanet.

These five have a couple of sub-franchises to their name:

The Riordanverse has PJO/HOO/TOA/TSATS as its base universe, with the Kane Chronicles and Magnus Chase as "sub-franchises", but really, it's more like being grouped together. These two also technically aren't on the roster yet, because despite owning box sets for each, I haven't read them.

DC Comics is primarily based off the comics, with the sub-franchises being based off multimedia in most cases. The Teen Titans Animated Series and Batman: Arkham have fighters, Batman 1989 and its sequels have a stage, and The Batman Animated Series has two assists. Dead Boy Detectives is also a sub-franchise and is primarily based off the TV show, with some stuff taken from the comics and Dead Patrol.

The rest of the franchises are grouped first by primary representation (fighter, stage, assist), then by medium (video game, film, novel, etc.), then by release order (ex. The Wizard of Oz in 1939, Star Wars in 1977, Beetlejuice in 1988).

Starting off with probably the medium with the most rep, video games: we've got Super Mario, R.O.B., The Legend of Zelda, Bubble Bobble, Kid Icarus, EarthBound, Fire Emblem, Sonic the Hedgehog, Kirby, Pokémon, MediEvil, Super Smash Bros., Animal Crossing, Golden Sun, Ace Attorney, Pikmin, Shadow of the Colossus, BioShock, Portal, Minecraft, Gravity Rush, Astro Bot, ASTRAL CHAIN, and Hades.

From film, there's: The Wizard of Oz (though other Oz material may be included), Star Wars, and Beetlejuice, at least for ones currently on the roster, though The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl, and Disney's Hercules, Mulan, and Lilo & Stitch are also probably going to be added.

From cartoons: Scooby-Doo!, SpongeBob SquarePants, My Life as a Teenage Robot, Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Legend of Korra (as a sub-franchise of Avatar), Phineas and Ferb, Adventure Time, Generator Rex, The Amazing World of Gumball, Gravity Falls (though the fighter eldues me), and Steven Universe.

And lastly from the fighters, some misc franchises and media: the Grishaverse (but really just Six of Crows) and the Summoner Trilogy (by Taran Matharu) for novels, Marvel Comics for comics, Spies are Forever for musicals, Drawtectives (with some additional Drawfee content) for web series, and LEGO stuff (namely LEGO City: Undercover, the LEGO Movies, and Ninjago) for toys, I guess.

For franchises repped primarily by stages: Little Shop of Horrors (1986), Clue (1985), Jurassic Park (1993), Night at the Museum, and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs for films, Over the Garden Wall, Infinity Train, Scavengers Reign, and The Amazing Digital Circus for animated shows, Rampage, Cookie Run, Stardew Valley, Snipperclips, and Concrete Genie for games, and Cats and Ride the Cyclone for stage shows.

Sym-Bionic Titan, Scribblenauts, Untitled Goose Game, and A Plague Tale (the most recent addition) are repped by items, assists for the first three and a regular item by the latter.

Also up for inclusion once I (re)engage (more) with them are Ghost Trick, inFAMOUS, Ratchet & Clank, Digimon, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Uncharted, Ape Escape, Assassin's Creed, Sly Cooper, and Watch Dogs.To be included, yeah, I have to engage with it to a suitable level as decided by me. Read (novels + comics), watch (film, television, stage show), or play (games. and toys, I guess). Which is why the above are not in yet. I only just got Ghost Trick and haven't started it, and I haven't started Sly Cooper (via PS Plus) yet either. I watched my sister play all of Uncharted a few years back, but now I want to play it for myself. inFAMOUS, Ratchet & Clank, Courage, Assassin's Creed, and Watch Dogs I have started but haven't gotten far enough to be definitive. Digimon is something I enjoyed enough when I was younger (Digimon Adventure + Data Squad) but I have to return to it for inclusion (which I will). The only real exception to this is Ape Escape, of which I have played a substantial amount of the first game (more of it than say, MediEvil), but it's not on the roster yet because... I dunno.
