The Idea That Mandalorian Culture Is Even Slightly Positive Is Legitimately Disgusting To Me
Full mask off with this one. I think you people are misguided at best, imperialism apologists at middling, and full blown fascists at worst.
Get clickbaited baby. Okay, I was being extra harsh. Kind of.
Not really.
Like I said with the Sith ramble, it's totally okay to think Mandalorians are cool and roleplay Mandalorians and all of that, but just like with the Sith you NEED to recognize what these people are. People are internalizing some intensely fucked up beliefs with Mandalorians, and covering up the things they don't like with headcanons that align with their beliefs.
But guys, there is a REASON nearly every major appearance of Mandalorians cast them as villains, this includes Clone Wars and Rebels. There is REASON the Mandalorian character option in SWTOR is aligned with the Sith Empire. There is a REASON so many Mandalorian roleplayers turn out to be weirdo alt-right cryptofascists.
And the thing that blows my mind is that it's not even a fandom issue. Star Wars writers have had characters proudly stand tall and say "My culture was taken from me by the Mandalorians and that's a good thing", and then had other characters go "Wow, that's really made me think. Maybe your culture of genocide committing crusaders aren't that bad..." It's insane.
So what is a Mandalorian? Like, what is a Mandalorian really?
Out of universe, a Mandalorian is a Boba Fett. Someone in a cool iconic outfit to automatically signal to the view "This guy is tough". Knowing that Boba Fett's design had a certain je ne sais quoi they brought his design back for Jango Fett, and then mixed it with the design of Stormtroopers to make Clone Trooper Armour.
But this opened the door to a horrible, horrible mistake. The same mistake Star Wars makes time and time again. By implying that the armour was more than just a dude's outfit they gave a writer room to invent a culture based off one or two characters. And so just like Rodians and Gand, the entirety of Mandalorian culture was formed around the fact that Boba and Jango were bounty hunters with wrist weapons and jetpacks.
Their culture was developed by one Karen Traviss, someone who's a little "Controversial" in circles, she made a warrior culture based on the Celts and other general Warrior Culture vibes. And boy howdy did they go hard on it, Mandalorian lore expanded, they got a religion, a history of genocide, cool robots, tons of armour and weapons, mythologized as the greatest warriors in the galaxy. Jedi cut through metal? Well not MANDALORIAN metal, their metal is the BEST metal. They even get an entire language, and a tradition of adopting people into their culture.
I haven't read too much of these books, what I have read strikes me as a little... I don't want to say edgy, but it's got that "US Army propaganda permeates our entire understand of war" vibes. Military men are valorized and women are kind of treated like shit, and while researching these books a little I kept finding people point even more awful shit in them. They're pretty nasty. But one of the consistent things I've noticed from them is a kind of... I want to say, acknowledgement that this stuff is bad.
The main Mandalorian guy is a violent, drunken asshole who emotionally abuses "his boys", the things soldiers do are horrific and are treated as such. Mandalorians aren't exactly given a squeaky clean image here. It's presented as an ugly, violent culture with a lot of misogynistic undertones.
I've got issues with the presentation, but I don't have beef with them. I have beef with what came after.
The fandom perception of Mandalorians is "Distressing". The fandom perception of Mandalorians is that they're this perfectly accepting and welcoming culture of kind hearted warriors who will be so gentle and kind within their clan but absolutely destroy anyone who dares hurt their dear friends. They're this huge mishmash of different cultures all mixing together in a delicious soup, the Echani Mandalorian teaches everyone their cool martial arts tricks while the Devaronian Mandalorian cooks everyone a nice spice traditional Devaronian meal while the Rodian Mandalorian regales everyone with some opera how nice and wonderful true found family there.
They're also not at all sexist, there is no difference between men and women, Mandoa doesn't even have gender in it but also Mandalorian women are super respected as brutal warriors equally as much as the men.
I hope I'm getting across that this is absolutely fucking bullshit. Let's start with the language thing because it's kind of indicative of the entire problem with gender here.
Mandoa absolutely is not "Gender Neutral", it seems like it is, Karen Traviss even said it is, an attempt was made to make it Gender Neutral. But here's the thing, what do the abusive dad character in those books call the Troopers? "His Boys". What do they all call each other? "Brothers", what is the translation of Vode An, that song Mandalorians love so much? "Brothers All".
Mandoa is extremely gendered, it wasn't made to be gender neutral, it was made to be masculine and then they applied it to women too. It's about Brothers and Brotherhood and real Manly Men stuff. It is positively dripping with toxic masculinity.
And again, this is basically how all of the women Mandalorians are treated. One of the mentioned things in lore is that Mandalorian women are "even fiercer fighters than the men", and that you should never flirt with a Mandalorian woman unless "you intend to marry her". You never see any of this though, in fact you more often seen the female Mandalorians taking care of kids and working in the kitchen. Even if you did see it, it's not exactly female empowerment here, it's just more hyper machismo bullshit "The only kind of woman that could satisfy a strong mandalorian warrior is another strong mandalorian warrior" you know what I mean?
But let's get to the real juicy thing. The imperialism.
So like, these guys are Crusaders. You know, those things that have never been problematic ever.
These guys are nomadic warriors, attacking and conquering planets, and taking spoils into themselves. You see that big machine the central guy is riding? That's a Basilisk War Droid, or "Bes'uliik". They're pretty iconic for Mandalorians, they're mini Metal Gears that have animal-like personalities and guns for faces, they're pretty cool.
Mandalorians didn't make them. They took them from the race they wiped out and appropriated it into their culture. They do that a lot, there's a big list of races that the Mandalorians genocided. You can read it on Wookiepedia it's all aright there.
This is the truth of Warrior Cultures. This is what they do. This is what the cultures that the Mandalorians were based on do. They conquer people and then "assimilate" them into their culture. They don't respect people's old cultures, they erase them.
The kotor comics tried to put a positive spin on this and it's fucking insane
The Mandalorians are not a multicultural or diverse people. They have more in common with the "Schools" white people kidnapped the indigenous kids to in Australia and Canada.
Even the Foundling thing is rooted in that kind of stuff. Mandalorians find a lost child on the battleground (I wonder why there's a lost child on the same battleground as a Mandalorian hrm, thinking emoji) and then take it and force their culture on them. It's kind of fucked up innit?
And their culture too. Let's unpack it a bit. Specifically the Resol'nare, this thing is considered the core pillar of the Mandalorian culture. If you do not follow these things you are literally soulless and you are not going to heaven.
This stuff is kind of not great. It's kind of fascist. Or maybe religious fundamentalism. But crucially, that subtle kind of where it seems reasonable until you start analyzing what it actually means and what it does.
Because remember, if you do not do these things you are not a Mandalorian. More than that, you are Dar'manda, which again means you are literally soulless and you are not going to heaven.
If you don't dress the way they want, not going to heaven.
If you don't speak the way they want, not going to heaven.
If you don't put your family first, not going to heaven.
If you don't do what the absolute ruler says, not going to heaven.
And if you let your kids make their own choices you're also not going to heaven.
Except it's actually more than that, it's also if you don't follow the Resol'nare you don't have a soul, you're already less than a person.
The Resol'nare is othering and dehumanizing, it's defining who isn't within your mandated circle of people to care about, and then telling you that the people outside of that are less than you. Something that is real handy when you need to kill people outside of your circle.
The language gets in on that too. The word for non-Mandalorians is Aruetti. That's incidentally the same word they use for Traitor. Not being a Mandalorian is synonymous with being a scumbag.
A lot of this stuff is retconned and removed for Disney Era Star Wars. I have problems with that too but it's more of a "missed opportunity" thing so I'll save it for another post. But the core of the Mandalorian Culture is deeply rooted in some rancid stuff, and it's being sanitized and refluffed as progressive by people who really want their violent warrior culture to be morally okay.
Despite my very inflammatory title, I don't think it's a bad thing to think Mandalorians are cool. But just like with thinking Sith are cool, it's really important you recognise that these fictional cultures are rooted in some really problematic shit. This is one of the pipelines people use to convince people of their shitty rhetoric for years, headcanons and bullshit like "when you think about it the Empire is good because they brought stability". It's just more obvious with the Empire because they're straight up Nazis.

Glitch gang hcs!
Bc I know it’s supposed to be a creepy pasta but I simply do not care.
Faceless Ayato-
He doesn’t understand much about the world and will watch people to try and understand them
This often leads to people being afraid of him staring
He does not speak (he doesn’t have a mouth), but he makes some gurgling noises that the other bois understand
He basically inhales food (again, no mouth). He’s very fond of sandwiches but doesn’t like anything sticky or liquidity.
This includes boba tea.
Very tall and always looks slightly lost
Cryptid Albedo-
Quantum Albedo, you can’t look directly at him
All of his movements are very stilted and awkward. They also don’t follow the rules of physics. Sometimes his hand will end up across the room
It is currently unknown whether or not he is aware of his body parts disconnecting, as it does not appear to bother him
His voice is robotic when he speaks, but his mouth doesn’t move. It’s basically a shadow wearing a mask
Copyright free Archer Bleached Childe
He looks the most normal until you look at his eyes
White glowing void, many people immediately feel overwhelming feelings of anger and despair when they make eye contact with him
He’s essentially blind, but a very good cook and will usually make food for their lil crew
He sees in a very basic form of elemental sight, but usually can’t make out non-elemental beings or vision users very well
He must be focusing in order to physically interact with other people, otherwise they will phase through him
Void Kaeya
He is currently being consumed by the void
He is able to plaster pieces of himself onto other pieces in order to cover up the gaping holes
That’s also why his eye looks like his glove + hand
He’s actually very sweet, but most people avoid him bc they think he has some sort of plague and are afraid of catching it
Klee brought him a box of cute bandaids that she puts over his holes
Sometimes they go on picnics and have to buy supplies, so they put on disguises.
Childe just has a pair of sunglasses (although usually that makes it even harder to see, so one of the others will hold his hand to help guide him. Ayato usually just wears a mask over his face since the rest of him looks normal. Kaeya can usually manage with a low hood and eyepatch (and Klee’s bandaids). Albedo usually isn’t with them to go into town, though one time they tried to put him on Ayato’s shoulders in a trench coat.
He glitched his way out of said trench-coat by accident.
Anyway, they’re all besties and they travel together.
And also occasionally attempt to hunt down their other selves for the pieces they’re missing :)

"Be bloody, bold, and resolute; laugh to scorn/ The power of man, for none of woman born/ Shall harm Macbeth"
"Despair thy charm, And let the angel whom thou still hast served Tell thee, Macduff was from his mother's womb Untimely ripped"
...
OOPSIE!!!!
The witches thought that a c-section counted as not being of woman born, but when Macduff tried to kill Macbeth, it didn’t work! Silly them! Now with the prophecy in full swing and Hecate riding their asses, they better find someone who can actually defeat Macbeth, and quick!
1,000 years later, Macbeth is still king and has now taken over the entire world!
In this universe where all fictional characters are real, the witches must assemble a team of characters marked by Hecate from “birth” with a special MacBrand denoting that they are capable of ending Macbeth’s reign of terror!
CURRENT CAST:
Doofenshmirtz
Orion Fowl (but not Artemis)
Shadow the Hedgehog
Woody from Toy Story
Lighting McQueen
Pinocchio
Gingerbread man
"This fucking guy" (cookie from chip ahoy commercial)
Tinkerbell
Annabeth Chase
Dean Winchester (s4 and on)
The Creature (Frankenstein)
Winnie the Pooh
Criteria for additions:
Human or of human intelligence
Not Traditionally Born (Naturally born OR c-section) FROM A WOMAN (of their species). If you find us a biological child of a trans man, that's fair game!
Not totally OP (this sadly disqualifies Athena, Dionysus, The Powerpuff Girls, the Monkey King, and Jesus (second coming). They may still appear in the story in some capacity though)
Resurrected characters must be in a new body (Danny Fenton is still in his original body, so he wouldn't work, but Dean Winchester's body post season 4 was reconstructed by Cas, so he does)
No Robots*
Clones cannot be mass produced (for storytelling reasons- Boba Fett would totally work but the Clone Army would not)
Funny
Can you think of Any More Characters using the updated criteria?
#shakespeare#macbeth#fanfiction#orion fowl#heinz doofenshmirtz#shadow the hedgehog#spn#dean winchester#annabeth chase#not tagging any more of them because i don't want to be overly annoying#questions#my friend and I are gonna write something oh so silly.#Additonally- as a general rule- only one character per property. I know Magnus Chase would work too but we already have annabeth on the lis#additionally we don't really want to use the same loophole twice

season 3 has definitely been the most underwhelming season for me, from start to finish, and that’s just really sad because it truly had the potential to be so grand. season 2 opened up a lot of potential for storylines that wound up being washed down the drain. like looking back, the big moments in the season 2 finale feel so pointless. din removing his helmet to look at grogu with his own eyes one last time before he goes off to train with luke? they’re reunited in a spin off show about boba fett. at the time i forgave it, because they opened up the idea of din having to go to mandalore to be redeemed, but they took care of that in episode 2 of this season with no real impact to anything. he went there and it was over. never took off his helmet again, and we never even saw him struggle or have internal conflict with that for a moment. not only that….it felt like it especially didn’t matter because the armorer suddenly decided there could be mandalorians who walk both ways in the case of bo katan uniting the tribes. i’m also really failing to see what was even the point of giving din the darksaber if it didnt do absolutely anything to further his character progression? he won it in combat against moff gideon, told everyone it’s bo katan’s now because she rescued him from robot spider, and then …. it was destroyed. LMFAOOOO. i can respect the idea of the darksaber being destroyed so future rulers can lead without it, but they didn’t bother to truly develop that concept so it just felt dumb when it happened. i just….after all this, how am i supposed to give a fuck about literally anything that happens now because they’ll throw it all out the next episode or season?
i’m glad the future is potentially just going back to din and grogu bounty hunting (specifically imperials, din in his nazi hunter era). i genuinely hope din never talks to another mandalorian again. except sabine, i’ll accept sabine. but i need it to be like season 2 where even though other characters appeared, it was always to help further din and grogu’s arc. since, you know, they’re the main characters. this season was literally about retaking mandalore, but felt like filler and a detour because the main character had no real growth. he officially adopted grogu by the end, but like basically everything this season, it felt like it just happened.

Hope's Answer Chapter 1 (VERY Rough Draft)
(I caved and decided to post the first chapter of the new draft since I haven't shared new writing in FOREVER. This will be improved upon in the future. As always, feedback is appreciated! And thank you guys for sticking with me.)
Taglist: @dogmomwrites @inkspellangel @midnight-and-his-melodiverse @mr-writes
Every monotone beep in Kasumi’s right ear made her jump as she tried to work. Orders were flying in, and she felt like she just couldn’t keep up. While the multiple server robots were patiently waiting by the front counter with their trays outstretched, Kasumi was racing back and forth between various machines, attempting to dodge coworkers left and right as she hurried to prepare numerous drinks.
The after-5 pm rush was always the worst.
The moment Kasumi placed one order of iced coffee down onto the server tray, she was immediately pulled back to fix up three orders of fruit smoothies. Two orders of boba tea. A single order of snack cakes, all an assortment of different flavors.
And all the while, the customers seated at the tables were simply staring at the translucent holographic screens floating in front of their faces, tuning out all the noise as they mindlessly scrolled. The only time they ever tore their eyes away was when the server rolled over to their table with their requested food or drinks, thanking them once again for choosing to dine at “Happy Cat Café.”
Kasumi couldn’t help but feel a pang of jealousy. She wanted to be on the other side of the counter, blissfully sipping on a cold sugary drink while playing her favorite game. But alas, here she was – nineteen years old and forced to work.
Nearly every day, for the past six months, it was exactly the same. Always rushing around, always fulfilling orders, until it was time to head home.
It was horrifically frantic.
She finally managed to finish sending off an order of two smoothies, before another beep from her earpiece screeched for her attention. With one quick tap to the glowing blue center, the holographic screen appeared before her eyes, revealing the ever-growing list of incoming orders from tables.
Too many orders.
Way too many to keep track of.
How were her coworkers handling all this so much better than she was?!
‘Oh god…’ she thought to herself, her heart and mind both racing as she frantically searched for drink ingredients. ‘Why can’t sis just come get me already so we can-‘
She froze, coming to a halt before she could collide into one of her coworkers, nearly making the other woman spill her drink.
“Kasumi, be careful!”
“I-I…” Words stuttered out of her mouth before her mind could fully comprehend her own thoughts. “I just-”
“We can’t afford another mess right now. You know that, right?”
Kasumi took a breath, failing to calm her shaky hands. “Yeah, I know. I just… I’m sorry-”
The earpiece continued to insistently beep for her attention. As if everything didn’t sound loud enough already.
“Sorry isn’t going to clear these orders.”
Averting her eyes from her coworker, Kasumi hurriedly stepped towards the blender and tapped her earpiece to bring up the list of orders once again. But as she tried to slow her breathing, all the words blurred and became jumbled together in a matter of minutes.
She needed air.
Kasumi quickly glanced over her shoulder. All of her coworkers were currently preoccupied, and none of the customers were looking in her direction.
Okay, good. It was safe.
Taking a breath, she looked down at her hands before closing her eyes. In a matter of seconds, pale brown skin grew blue and translucent, as did the rest of her body and her clothes. She stepped towards the wall in front of her, moving through it as easily as a knife through butter. She didn't stop until the sunlight hit her eyes once she finally entered the alleyway.
Seeing no one else around, she breathed a sigh of relief.
"Finally…" Her body became opaque once more as she leaned back against the wall, closing her eyes to catch her breath. It was much quieter here. She only needed a few minutes to calm herself down.
It was hard keeping such an ability of her’s hidden. Kasumi had had a few close calls in the past, but had never been explicitly seen using magic in public.
'It's for the better,' Her sister Mjoll always told her. 'You don't know what people will do to you if they learn that magic exists.'
She'd never questioned Mjoll’s judgement, as her sister always seemed to be right about things, supposedly from personal experience. So Kasumi was always careful whenever she tried to use her abilities.
She didn't want to take any risks. But once again, it seemed to Kasumi that no one had noticed a thing.
At least, until a sudden noise from within the alleyway made her jump.
She turned her head in the direction of the noise, not noticing anything at first. But after a moment, she glimpsed the movement of a shadow on the wall.
Holding her breath as she waited, Kasumi hid one hand behind her back. Focusing her magic towards her fingertips, she envisioned a small knife in her mind. This caused a faint glow to appear between her collarbones, which she hurried to cover up with her work apron. In a matter of seconds, a small blue knife was in her hand, and she wrapped her fingers around the hilt, gripping it tightly.
"...H-hello?" She called out, her voice wavering. Had she been spotted earlier when moving through the wall?
Her words were only met with an uncomfortable silence. After a few seconds, the shadow on the wall moved again, this time out of sight. Kasumi held her breath, waiting to see if anyone would reveal themselves.
But it seemed that whoever was there had ultimately left.
Anxiety crawled along Kasumi’s back like a spider. She pondered what exactly she should do, when her earpiece suddenly began beeping again, catching her off-guard that she jumped again. She groaned, the back of her head hitting the wall again.
Right. If she didn't get back inside soon, she wouldn't hear the end of it from her coworkers.
So Kasumi quickly allowed her body to turn transparent once more. With a sigh, she stepped back through the wall, and was soon once again met with the cafe's pale pink walls, black and white checkerboard floor, and cute cat decor.
Her eyes scanned both the seating area and the drink-making stations, her body turning back to normal only once the coast was clear.
Turning back to the blender, Kasumi tapped her earpiece to bring up the orders. But as she worked, she couldn’t help but glance nervously out the windows that looked outside towards the busy streets of Tokyo.
"It was just nothing, right?" She asked herself.
Unfortunately, she didn't believe her own words. Something felt different about today.
It felt… wrong.

Season 3 of the Mandalorian could have been the BEST... (PART 1)
The potential was there. (But I have a feeling Disney meddled with the story...)
I have seen many fans bashing this season on valid reasons. For example the biggest issue is that the main character of the show, Din has been sidelined along with Grogu.
Don't get me wrong, choosing to make Bo Katan a main character was a good move.
BUT she should have REMAINED A main character and not become THE main character. Yes, her background makes her a very interesting person to play around with, BUT it would have been SO EASY to still maintain Din and Grogu's status as main characters while adding Bo's to the equation.
So it is the least to say that I'm frustrated. Especially, since I'm a writer, and I see where and how Din and Grogu should have been given more screen time!
No, I wouldn't rewrite the whole season, because now that almost all episodes are out, I can see what Jon and Dave were meaning to do with the story. And the direction is a good one. The message that together we are stronger was better choice than making Bo an antagonist.
BUT THE WAY they got to their desired direction...
I would rather do an IMPROVEMENT on the screenplay.
The issues that would need to be tackled are the following;
Let's start with minor details;
1. Characters repeat themselves unnecessary.
(Especially prominent in Episode 2 and 6)
2. Unaddressed tensions are never explained or confronted.
(Why has Bo never mentioned the mythosaur to Din? Why has she never revealed why she wouldn't duel with him for the Darksaber? Why would the Armorer let Bo take off her helmet, when she had an issue with Din taking it off? What does the Armorer mean by walking both worlds? ((I understand what Jon and Dave meant here but to the general audience this could still be confusing)) Why was Bo accepted into the Covert so easily? Why has no one tried to confront her about her past mistakes? Why has no one brought it up that she was in Death Watch and is responsible for Mandalore to fall into the hands of a Sith? Why has no one mentioned Duchess Satine? What was the purpose of Grogu's flashback? Why was Persing's storyline abandoned for so long? Why does Gideon only show up in Episode 7? How did Captain Carson Teva know that Din had a astrometh droid which he served with in the Rebellion? )
3. Using the same device to create action/tension.
Episode 1 Monster from the water tries to eat a child.
Episode 2 Monster robot captures Din.
(Mythosaur appearance, which is another monster figure, but at least it doesn't attack.)
Episode 4 Monster that can fly captures the same kid which was almost eaten in Episode 1.
Episode 7 Monster has no purpose other than smashing the ship they were traveling with which scares the Mandalorians into going underground.
4. Wholesome moments between Din and Grogu have become rare. Too rare.
We can see that Grogu gets closer and closer to Bo physically, but WHY? They only talked in Episode 2 and 4, but none after that. So it's feels unjustified when he eventually ends up sitting in her lap.
5. Grogu rarely does anything that drives the narrative (for most of the season) Only in Episode 1 and 2 has more prominent role, and then in 4, then in 7.)
6. Din's character seems clumsy. (Which he shouldn't be since previous seasons established him as a badass bounty hunter!)
He has to be rescued over and over again.
7. Where are the rest of the characters?
Greef Karga has a very minor role compared to previous seasons.
No Cara, no Fennec, no Boba, no Mayfield... etc.
8. Episode 6.
Yes, the whole episode is... Huh... A mess to say the least.
Why is Din just accompanying Bo to her mission to recruit her former fleet? How did he take the whole 'she can take her helmet off', but apparently not him?
The mood is all over the place. It begins with a happy tone then by the time Bo and Din go to the Mandalorian fleet, it becomes serious again, while the setting is still in broad harsh daylight, which was applied throughout the whole episode so it gives off happy vibes, while Bo and Axe duel!!!
There are too many guest stars, which take the audience out of the star wars experience.
The detective story doesn't make sense, because if the Duchess and her Captain had known for a while now that they were having problems with their droids... Had it not occured to no one to check the fluids that the droids drink to update themselves???
Why did Commissioner Heilgait folded so quickly after being confronted by the Duchess? Why would he be sorry? He had just said a few minutes ago that he would not give up not the corrupt Republic not to the Empire... This action makes him appear to be a weak antagonist...
Why had Axe not denied Bo and challenged Din instead?
Why doesn't Axe confront Bo why is she refusing to duel with Din???
Why hadn't Din gave the Darksaber back to Bo earlier if he had known that she won it from him?
9. In Episode 5 and 7 during the attacks against the Mandalorians, they should have used their jetpacks much more. They stay on the ground for far too long as if they had forgotten they have them on their backs.
10. No one else has dialogue in the Mandalorian Covert other than Paz, the Armorer, Din, and Bo. It's hard to care about the rest of them and their fate and culture if they are not given agency.
11. DIN AND BO RARELY TALK WITH EACH OTHER. They rather TALK TO EACH OTHER.
Therefore their interactions remain surface level. So when it comes to their implied romantic attraction to each other it's nowhere near as strong as it could have been had the writers made them have meaningful conversations (like in Episode 7).
Also, since the romantic attraction between them were hinted in a so subtile manner... A lot of people might have missed those clues and so Din's pledge to Bo may seem to be coming out of the blue...
The audience would have needed the cameras to linger a lot longer on them when they exchange looks etc...
12. DIN DOESN'T DRIVE THE NARRATIVE AND HIS DIALOGUE IS TOO FEW.
He seems to have lost his meaning... Other than to be at Bo's side, supporting her.
PART 2 is coming soon, where I'll try to improve these things.

Hey There, I'm Jace with Ikahnik Studio. As you probably know, Star wars Jedi: Survivor is coming out in just about two months, and I can't wait to get my hands on it. I think the previous game is one of the best Star Wars games we've ever seen in recent years. Few Star wars games captured the feel of a Jedi like Fallen Order did. And for that reason, I'm very much looking forward to play Star wars Jedi: Survivor. While we're waiting for the release, here's a short list of things that I would love to see in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.
Less linearity I know this is a long shot, but I would love to see a more opened world. Now we don't have to go full GTA5 or anything like that, but less linearity would be a welcomed change. I remember so many parts of the last game was moving from one small area to the next. And some of these areas were just dark corridors. I understand that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was strongly inspired by the Dark Souls series, but even those moved away, very successfully I might add, from linearity, like we saw in Elden Ring. Which brings us to the next topic on the list.
Npc Quests The last game had few interactions with NPCs. They were almost all instrumental to the story. It felt like the player was travelling from barren world to barren world with little or no interactions with in-world NPCs. Even in Dark Souls series, the small worlds occasionally had non-story related NPCs that can be interacted with. Some even gave quests. And the NPCs made those gloomy Dark Souls worlds feel more alive than Star Wars the Last Jedi. I think interactions with NPCs can make a world of difference in terms of not just narrative but in making the world come alive. So I'm really hoping that we see some NPCs that can give us some quests for optional loot. Which takes us to the next topic.
More Cosmetics There was nothing wrong with the way Cal looked, but something about him felt too fixed. Not only was he already a well defined character, but there were also very few ways to "really" give him that personal touch. Everything you changed seemed inconsequential, and Cal appeared the same nonetheless. So I am really looking forward to more customization options. I hope I can dress him up like Boba Fett or Cad Bane if want to. Those might be going a little too far, but the point is that I want more options than a simple re-color for a pouch or lightsaber.
Dismemberment The next thing I want to see is some decapitation on trooper or humanoid characters. In the last game, we saw Cal use the lightsaber to cut down giant fleshy animals and metallic robots. It was baffling that we never saw any trooper lose a limb. I kind of understand, after all the game was rated "T" for teen by the ESRB. Because Star wars is such a family friendly brand now, the upcoming Jedi Survivor game might also get a teen rating. The only hope I have for seeing dismemberment is that the game, just like Cal, is supposed to be more mature and darker. So, here's hoping that maturity comes with a side of blood. Speaking of bloody, terrible things...
Dark Side I'd love to see Cal flirt with the dark side. We're talking about the Star Wars universe where there's always a struggle between the light and dark side. I want to see Cal walk the line between good and bad. Which would work well if there was a choice and consequences system. A system that players would have to deal with depending on actions taken. Now, considering how linear the last game was, this one might be wishful thinking. But still. It would be awesome. Recently Harry potter came out and the most popular house has been Slithering. Which means people love to role play the bad guy too sometimes, not that Slithering house is inherently bad, but you get the idea. So having a choice to follow in Anakin's foot steps wouldn't be such a bad idea at all.
Anyway, thanks for stopping by and let me know if you're as excited as I am for this game.

[IDs, First image, tweet by Syl, @/lesbianjubilee. It says, if mr mandalorian cannot remove his helmet how will he give baby yoda a tender kiss on the forehead????
Second image, 2 cosplayers, presumably father and daughter. They’re dressed as an adult mandalorian in green armor with orange accents. He is kneeling to bump his helmet against a mandalorian child’s forehead. The child’s armor is pink and white.
Third image, a screenshot of Attack of the Clones, where a young Boba Fett is holding his father, Jango Fett’s helmet. He is holding it to his forehead and is kneeling. He appears to be in an arena with a large dead animal and various droid/robot parts strewn behind him.
Fourth image, a close-up image of a man and woman Māori posing with their foreheads and their noses lined up and touching. Their eyes are closed and it is a very intimate moment. The woman has dark hair and feather earrings. The man has Tā moko, a delicate branching tattoo covering his chin and nose. /. End ID]
i think about this tweet a lot

Star War Build a roster
Inspired by the works of the @thorgisarcade this is a hypothetical roster for a Star Wars fighting game after Thorgi made the joke in his Mortal Kombat Vs Street Fighter build a Roster. So let’s be real this was probably a joke on his part and even if it wasn’t this is Star War this is Disney’s well I wouldn’t say child but their biggest money so I don’t think they would ever, but let’s imagine that the execs at Disney saw a market in the fighting scene for star wars and came to yours truly on the roster. Now I must say this roster is well I wouldn’t say, but its more from my knowledge of the franchise so sorry.
These are ordered by appearance
Base Roster
The Phantom Menace
Jar Jar- See if this was real it wouldn’t happen but if given creative freedom I would turn Jar Jar into something similar to Shaggy from Multiversus but Jar Jar would use the drunken style dipping diving against these jedi master. Jar Jar is the weird pick and joke character all in one
Obi- Wan Kenobi
Darth Maul
Attack of the Clones
Yoda
Jango Fett echo is Boba fett
Mace Windo
Anakin Skywalker
Count Dooku
Revenge of The Sith
General Grievous
Plo Koon
Kit Fisto
Any named Clone plus any named clone as alternate costumes
The original trilogy
Luke Skywalker
Han Solo
Chewbacca
The Emperor
Darth Vader
The Force awaken
Kylo Ren
Rey
I don’t have the attention span to watch movies but I know these two are popular or at Kylo is so I threw Rey in as a bonus
Now something that Thorgi does for his rosters is dlc, so here are some themed dlc from Star Wars Media I’ve seen and able to get a hold of
The Force unleash dlc
Star Killer
General Koda
Kazdan Paratus- A boss from the first force unleashed game and honestly the most unique jedi boss
Proxy- Yes Star Killer robot ally he could work like Shang Tsung copying certain characters moves
Jedi Leia
The Clone Wars dlc
Ahoska Tano
Asajj Ventress
Savage Opress
Cad Bane
Pong Krell
Star Vision DLC
Ronin- A samurai jedi need I say more
Kouru
Am- basically a female grievous
Lop
Lola- Would fight similarly to Kimberly but with a lightsaber
Finally we have the grab bag dlc basically what piranha plant was in ultimate but there are three here because I could think of anyone else
Sabine Wren- Star Wars Rebels
Zeb Orrelios- Star Wars Rebel
Cal Kestis

I didn't know you like Star Wars! Who's your favorite character?
| I don't LIKE it, I LOVE it.
Jango Fett is and always will be my first love. I have a weird affinity for metal and robots, space things, single dads (lol), and mysterious masked men. You put them all together and you get the ever perfect Jango Fett. Then Boba for almost the same reason but he's more bitter in a sense and when Jango died, well. You know how the story ends.
The day TBOBF trailer/news came out, I cried and prayed Jango would make like an appearance, not a ghost-reminder memory thing, but I thought it was more of an Origin Story. Still hoping ♥
And this was further amplified because my first boyfriend, loved and knew Star Wars more than me. And we hit off by writing and roleplaying and he knew the Mandoverse so well that he recommended books and comics to me, and played as Jango, then Boba, then his OC, and it was so consistent with what he knows or available lore for the Mandoverse, it was a jackpot.
And mind you, I didn't play a Star Wars related character. I wrote as this Egyptian goddess with seven tails who brought monsters and adventure his way which paired up nicely.

My Memory of the Star Wars Trilogy Continues to Be Questionable
Star Wars Episode V: The Rape-y One (real title: Return of the Jedi? The Empire Strikes Back? One or the other. Definitely not New Hope, I know for a FACT that’s the fourth one)
The gang are fighting fascists in a wintry landscape on the planet Hoth. There are big tanks on comically long legs called ATATs. Luke is in a little fighter jet that conveniently has a cable rope ejector, so he is able to circle the ATATs with the cable, tripping them as it tightens around their knees.
Later, after a flying motorbike race through the woods, Han and Luke discuss who has dibs on Leia at a party.
Then Luke and R2D2 head off into a swamp for Luke’s pilgrimage to a Jedi master. They crash, and Luke is annoyed. R2D2 is mischievously undismayed. A little troll creature starts mocking them, and Luke is even more frustrated by his unpleasant predicament. Unfortunately for Luke and fortunately for decades of merchandising, this little creature- best described as a cross between a teenage mutant ninja turtle and a house elf- is the object of Luke’s quest, the galaxy-renowned Jedi master who trained Obi Wan Ben Kenobi. This ornery goblin is no other than Yoda himself.
Luke undertakes a grueling and humiliating apprenticeship under the obnoxious giggling creature. Despite his unimpressive appearance and unlikability (I know this is a hot take, but if you really think you would enjoy being talked to the way Yoda talks to Luke, then you can fight me in the Denny’s parking lot). He comes to appreciate Yoda’s wisdom and even grows affectionate for his eccentric ways. But then Yoda dies in his cute little cubby house. Luke is devastated, which I imagine is starting to feel familiar to the poor boy.
Later, Han corners Leia in a narrow hallway and unsettlingly observes that she’s shivering. He then forces himself upon her. A relationship that has not aged well in the decades since this movie’s production ensues. And you wonder why their son is a sociopath… but that’s a story for another day.
The gang show up at Lando’s driveway. He convivially welcomes them and they settle down for a hang out. But then! Cops raid the place! And the deepest treachery: Lando was the one who called them. Since he’s Han’s friend, and birds of a feather flock together, that means that he actually has little integrity and was enticed to sell them out to Boba Fett the bounty hunter who takes them to Jabba the Hutt.
Jabba is amused by his new acquisition: Han and Leia. Luke got away, I guess. Or he wasn’t at Lando’s house? And the robots I think are with Luke?
But yeah, Jabba freezes Han in carbonite or something which turns him into a perpetually screaming statue. Leia, unlike me, is not amused because she seems to find Han tolerable, even desirable at this point. Stockholm syndrome, I guess? Or daddy issues because… you know. Well, you don’t, that’s not until the next movie, I think.
The end!!
Coming up: “Luke, I am your father.” and the beginning of a decades-long tradition of relying on Palpatine as the main villain

Fuwa Maria and Fuwa Mario Facts Guff (OC edition) #001
Here's the other edition of the facts guff thing I got going on >:) This time, we're focusing on character lore~ I like writing about my UTAUs, despite how much they've changed over time with multiple iterations and revisions. This is just an excuse to talk about Maria and Mario but this is my blog after all ^^
More under the cut.
Fuwa Maria
There are rumours that one of the robots Maria made is a robot maid, and she gifted it to the staff at the cat café where Mario works at. Said robot maid has never made an appearance as of yet.
Maria prefers being in her humanoid disguise at all times without her horns and tails.
Fuwa Mario
The cat café Mario works at is named Tapiocat. It also doubles as a boba shop. It's a local café chain.
Even though Mario works at Tapiocat as a barista, he sometimes takes care of the cats at the café. He's actually the manager of the Tapiocat café he works at.
Tends to talk in a lower voice for the most part; he kind of doesn't like how high-sounding he is in general.
Though Mario uses his humanoid disguise to blend into human society, he'd rather not use it at home.
Maria and Mario
Both Maria and Mario have true forms as qilin (as in the actual chimerical hooved creature); they don't use them anymore as they want to distance themselves
Maria and Mario's real name are currently unknown; it is said that their names are unpronounceable in human tongue.

Completed Lgbtq+ Webtoons to Binge (Originals edition)
Most of these are already pretty popular, and some of them are primarily available irl, but honestly you could just take this as an opportunity to reread some of your favorites.
Muted - A fantasy story with a really distinct art style that handles themes of parental abuse, generational trauma, and found family extremely well. The main character finds out that she is descended from two powerful witch clans and summons a wholesome plant demon, while dealing with her own mental health problems and rapidly expanding family. Primarily wlw rep, with a canon polyamorous ending! The author is also currently creating another comic, LoveBot, with their partner.
Always Human - A slice-of-life wlw romance in a gorgeous sci-fi setting. The hook is that most characters in this world can mod their appearance and health, but one of our main girls is allergic to them. This one is just really cute, and extremely diverse, with agender, aroace, gay and poly side characters. There's a physical copy shorter than the full webtoon that I highly recommend if you want to introduce any of these groups to kids in an age-appropriate way!
Cape of Spirits - A fantasy webtoon, based on a fictional video game from another of the author's comics. Extremely engaging and satisfying story, and has a lot of cool action scenes! There's also a surprising amount og rep - a nb robot (which I know can be a :/ trope, but indvidual robots are unique and there is another robot who uses she/her), a wlw couple, and a catradora-esque mlm main couple.
Castle Swimmer (s. 1) - This comic is ongoing (and incredibly popular), but the first season can also stand on its own. It's a love story between a merman who's supposed to fulfill prophecies for different kingdoms and the prince who's supposed to kill him. Thankfully it doesn't fall into the tropes of having the main couple constantly bicker or threaten each other, they talk a lot about finding a balance between living your life for yourself and others. Love this one so much, and it's very diverse and kid-friendly (some blood and heavy ideas, maybe like 4th-5th grade level)! There is a transfem main character in the first season, aroace and bi main characters in the second season, overall just has gorgeous art and creative concepts and wholesome relationships.
Hooky - adorable fantasy webtoon about a family of witches and their friends (~at first~). The main characters are a pair of twins, one of whom is fated to become 'king of the witches' and overturn the humans oppressing them, but in between the tense moments there is a lot of heart and loveable characters. The mlm characters don't really join the cast until roughly halfway through, but it's still well worth reading. It's also being released as physical books & mostly child appropriate.
Kind of Love (1 & 2) - Collections of short stories by different authors. Not all of them are lgbtq+, but the ones that are hit - there's a lesbian mourning the loss of her wife and adopting a cat, a transbian who's working to come out to her family and yt audience, a mlm story about a ghostbuster, and a boba shop worker who falls for an agender ghost. All of the stories in this collection are really good and worth checking out :DD
The Fever King - This is actually an adaptation of a published novel, which is pretty cool. It's mostly set in a military academy run by a corrupt government, and the main character is one of the only survivors of a plague that decimated his family. It has aspects of both fantasy and sci-fi, and is pretty graphic for a webtoon - major tws for sexual and emotional abuse. The main character and his love interest are mlm, but *spoilers* they don't have a happy ending, so I would recommend reading it only if you're into the plot and/or have access to the sequels.
Phantom Paradise - Gorgeous art, fantasy webtoon about a boy who serves as a concubine to the empress of hell to save his boyfriend. This one is a bit heavier than The Fever King, it has heavy depictions of abuse and the main character is a WW2 veteran. I actually learned a bit about Chinese history and culture from this, albiet highly fictionalized. The ending isn't the happiest, but if you like a lot of fantasy fights and dramatic flashbacks you'll probably like this.
Unfortunately, a lot of these are just wlw or mlm romance, because a lot of the webtoons with trans rep I'm reading are ongoing (and there generally aren't enough tqia+ webtoons). If you have any favorites that I missed, please recommend them!
I'm going to make a post below with some Canvas webtoons to check out, which might not be as well known :)

I have never watched a single star wars film completely so now I am learning what the fuck happend through the Lego Game (below read more are notes after completing each trilogy)
Disclaimer:
I know some very basic stuff of the og trilogy (mainly Luke and Leia being siblings, C3po and R2D2 exist, Yoda in some kind of swamp environment and Luke and Leia being the children of Vader)
I know close to nothing about the prequels except we got a meme from it, Obi-Wan is in them and Anakin = Vader and Pademe is the mother to Luke and Leia (I think Palpetine also appears in those movies but idk the plot of the prequels only that it ends with Anakin becoming Vader)
I know some general plot points (I think) of the sequels as I have watched some clips of them (mainly for Oscar Isaac because of Moon Knight research prior to it being released)
I remember the robot with 4 lightsabers and some lady in red with white facepaint(?)
OG trilogy:
I always thought the whole Luke I am your father would already happen in the first movie but alright
Are….Are Ben And Obi-Wan the same person….?
I thought Palpatine was in the prequel trilogy and Vader was the main villain for the OG
Also why the fuck did no one spoil to me that Vader and Luke would fight together against Palpetine
Was Leias and Hans romance also only established at the very end of the third film?? Seems a bit weird but alright
I didn’t fully get why Luke went to Vader and Palpetine in the first place? Like I guess to prove that he is not gonna turn to the dark side
…Luke and Leia kissed in the movies didn’t they? If yes thank you Lego Star Wars for just removing that part
I don’t know why I thought it was Vader that was cast in the silvery stuff instead of Han
Boba Fett?? Appears in the OG trilogy?? As an “antagonist”??
Anyway Conclusion: Story seems interesting enough especially since I knew NOTHING it turns out about the third movie of this trilogy. I was planning to watch all the movies after the game anyway but atm I am most interested in the story and execution of this trilogy
Prequel Trilogy:
I’m sorry but am I told that Star Wars happened because of an in universe trade disagreement???
ANAKIN BUILD C3PO??
ANAKIN IS NOT AN ORPHAN
Pademe seems a bit…older than Anakin
I have never seen Queen Amidala out of Lego form
Palpatine actually looked normal once huh
AMIDALA AND PADME ARE THE SAME PERSON??
Ok but did some strange insects really get sent in for a break in into padmes room??
I can’t imagine General G as something other than in Lego form like his character design stuck so in my head that after more than 10 years I still remembered it in such detail
…So they just made a lot of clones?? I always thought Stormtrooper were a lot of clones but now I don’t think they are??
So Vader/Anakin has a bunch of temper tantrums
Why do peoples faces change when they turn to the dark side??
Conclusion: I got a bit lost during the whole clone thing with Jango Fett. Bit weird when we saw Anakin as a literal small child next to Padmé a senator in the council knowing they would get together later on, had no idea that Amidala and Padmé were the same person short moment my mind was just blown, Episode 1 and 3 I understood the story I think alright but I was a bit lost in episode 2…I literally only knew about Order 66, “Do it” and the whole last fight
Sequel trilogy:
So….I know a lot from the force awakens so not much new stuff buuuut Han Solos death was nice
POE DAMERON MY BELOVED
I thought that vault where the tentacle things were stored were IN the millennium falcon so that’s new
There weren’t multiple Leia temporary general replacements in the films right??
Was there actually a prison break in the movies???
There is a weird hole on Lukes getaway Island and you have like a mirror level in it but no idea how that is translated to the movies
WE HAVE TO FIGHT LUKE
WHO THE FUCK IS DJ??
Admiral Holdo?? Times three??
Finn should have become a Jedi
Ep 9 begins and one of teh first characters you see is the live slug reaction slug?? Perfect
Did…did Kylo Ren also just wander into a strange lab like structure and found a Palpetine who was falling apart??
KLAUD THE LIVE SLUG REACTION SLUG WAS ON A MISSION
Poe and Rey are on their own…
Finn didn’t yell to Rey about needing to tell her something
Wait who are those Kylo Ren looking dudes?? I just missed that
…Rose feels like a character that was introduced just so that they could give Finn a female love interest after people started shipping Finn and Poe
Who the fuck is this little droid called D-0 and why is it on my team suddenly - IT CAN TALK?
WHO IS GENERAL PRYDE
LEIA HAD A SABER
GREBE KORORA.?
Knowing now Palpetine once looked more like a normal dude it makes more sense as to how he ever had children (the question is still when the fuck did that happen but…)
Zero idea who the Knights of Ren are or if they ever even appeared outside of Episode 9
YOOOO KYLO RENS SUBTITLES HAVE CHANGED TO BEN SOLO :D
…where did he get that blue lightsaber from though?? Like? And why does Rey also have a blue one?? One of the two is Leias I just always thought she would have another colour other than blue but still….why both blue
So you are telling me Ben and Rey kissed in the movies?? Alright then…the hug was enough
Was there als a BB-9E that got in basically a Mech in the movies
“I don’t like sand” Thanks Anakin
There is the yellow Lightsaber
Conclusion: Rose felt like she was just there as a love interest, genuinely interesting concepts, I feel like I missed a lot because no idea when the Knight of Ren first popped up and all that. Whose lightsabers did they fight with at the end of ep 9?? Finn should have been/become a Jedi like idc. THE LINE SOMEHOW PALPETINE RETURNED WASN’T THERE. Live Slug Reaction. I think if they had maybe set up that Snoke and the first orders plan was to resurrect Palpetine from the beginning and then Ben and Rey killing Snoke would have set something free that resulted in Palpetine being alive after his death would have worked better. Why did they have to include a Romance between Ben and Rey in the movies like…alright I guess
Final Conclusion: Had a good time :) Also liked most of the main characters and parts of the story though I certainly would have changed let’s say quite a bit but ey from what I got from the games: It was alright. Definitely gonna go watch the movies now so….who knows maybe I’ll become a Star Wars fan
Fun Fact: Lego Star Wars the complete Saga was the only way I knew anything back then about Star Wars. Kids in school would either play Star Wars or Harry Potter during break, so I had barely any knowledge about either of those but just bluffed my way through that. Also when I was young two kids were talking about the (real life) Lego Set for the death Star and how expensive it is, in my imagination I just had a giant Star from Mario in my head as to how this “death Star” looked.
#star wars#star wars original trilogy#star wars prequels#star wars sequel trilogy#I mainly did these notes because my friends were like I wonder how someone would pick up the story by only playing the Lego Games#and I was like I‘ve got you

I want to know this, too. So I did watch The Clone Wars. And I did watch Rebels. I have also watched the OT, PT, ST, Andor, Mandalorian, Book of Boba Fett, Visions, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Resistance, Ewoks, probably Droids, definitely the Star Wars Holiday Special, some Robot Chicken comedy bits, Space Balls, and Hardware Wars. I have played Jedi Fallen Order and Jedi Survivor, plus bits of Star Wars Squadrons. At one point (that point being the release of TROS), I had read all the canonical published books and comics.
What the fuck it is with Captain Rex? He's cool, sure, for his few appearances in canon, but he seems to exist mostly in fanon. Which is fine. But I still feel like I've missed something important here.
I never watched Rebels and also never watched The Clone Wars. People have this lovely infatuation with certain clone officers, like Captain Rex. Why is this the case? It would be lovely to get some answers.
