theory about Artemis Fowl and the Atlantis Complex?

most af fans know that in greek mythology, artemis and orion are lovers, not enemies (i think it's actually artemis and apollo?) so orion and artemis' explanation for orion's name in the book was wrong.

my in-canon theory for why artemis said that his namesake and orion's were enemies, not lovers, was simply because he didn't want the group to ridicule him about it the entire way, and so lied to save his face. at the time he was speaking to butler about it, though the others were listening, so maybe he didn't want butler to be weirded out by his alter ego? also, about why orion named himself that, it's probably because he saw himself not as artemis's enemy, but as his friend.

another theory is that artemis saw an incorrect web post about orion and artemis being enemies in greek mythology and thought to himself 'that's stupid', but when orion surfaced as his alter, he regarded everything artemis has learned about, whether true or false, as fact, and so named himself orion. then artemis was like 'you know what sure whatever'

The witches thought that a c-section counted as not being of woman born, but when Macduff tried to kill Macbeth, it didn’t work! Silly them! Now with the prophecy in full swing and Hecate riding their asses, they better find someone who can actually defeat Macbeth, and quick!

1,000 years later, Macbeth is still king and has now taken over the entire world!

In this universe where all fictional characters are real, the witches must assemble a team of characters marked by Hecate from “birth” with a special MacBrand denoting that they are capable of ending Macbeth’s reign of terror!

Hiya everyone!! Some people might recognise my name as the one I have for my Obey Me blog!

And similarly, I’m now making an Artemis Fowl blog. I’ve loved the series ever since a tender age and I hate to see the lack of content.

So I decided to do it myself! :D

rattles the bars of my cage Thinking about Orion and his place within the family again.

I desperately want to see Orion interacting with the family (Butler and Juliet included). I think that Angeline and Fowl Sr. would be apprehensive about it at first. Orion must, to them, represent everything that they failed to do as parents to protect their son. (I think it would also cause more tension between Angeline and Butler given that his job was to protect Artemis and…well…yeah.)

I think the three (The Parents + Butler) of them would all feel a sort of awkward guilt around Orion and not know how to interact with him which could cause some tension for Orion who could very easily see this as “Oh, they would much prefer Artemis be here” which (from experience) gets exhausting very quickly. With enough time though I think they’d start to separate Orion from Artemis and treat him as Just Another Part Of The Family.

I think the twins would probably take it the best. They’re young enough by the point that Orion makes himself known that they haven’t really established a consistent relationship with Artemis yet. (He didn’t show up until they were toddlers, and then was inconsistently present in their lives) So Orion would just be Another Brother for them. (one perhaps a little more willing to roughhouse with Beckett. Just, sit on that little image for a while. It’s cute to me.)

And as for Artemis himself, I would love to see him learning to coexist with Orion as a peer rather than a nuisance. I want to see them grow from resenting each other to almost if not outright admiring each other. Let them reconcile with each other as two distinct personalities sharing a body.

There will always be some level of tension between all of them given how contrasting Artemis and Orion’s personalities are, the history, and the nature of Orion’s existence, but I still think that with time and therapy they could really accept Orion as part of the family.
