I think that 1) when the initial glamour of having been rescued by Artemis wears off and 2) once he expands his reading beyond Lady Heatherington Smythe's Hedgerow, Nº1 would take a peek at Violet Tsirbleu’s oeuvre and Not Vibe with it. Nº1 tries his best, but he’s still like “Artemis I hate to break it to you but the way you write romance is equal parts derivative and uncomfortably cynical :/ I think you need to find an editor”, much to Artemis’ eternal chagrin. Nº1 still brings up Tsirbleu’s work at the book club he’s part of with Butler and Minerva, and it always makes for very entertaining small-talk-over-tea fodder.

I've been borrowing the Artemis Fowl audiobooks from the library and listening to them this year. The first four and to a lesser extent the fifth were a big part of my reading life right before my teens, but there's some things I didn't notice before...

pretty sure one of the corrections Opal Koboi tries to impose on Giovanni Zitto (in The Opal Deception) under the mesmer is based on him not using subject pronouns. But Italian is a pro-drop language!

I had never sorted out that №1 should be said "number one" for some reason and I just like... thought his name was somehow N°1 and mentally called him, approximately, "en-one" even though that's a degree symbol. I actually kinda like not calling him "number one" because it feels very... main character syndrome? Like, N1 is ... some designation that happens to contain 1 which doesn't make it any more special or standout than the 41st or the 3,451st thing. Number One sounds more like he was meant to be a special character.

(I realized during The Lost Colony that I get №1 vibes from Mr. Nutt in Unseen Academicals and vice versa)

... Are Section 8 headquarters clone proof, though, considering the plot of the entire last book?

...but, according to the account Artemis gives (1 hr/second for so long, 30 min/s for a shorter period, and then 1 min/sec backwards for... two seconds), how is it that Artemis can react and target past-Abbott without way too much time passing for it to do any good? Is the backward the only one that's subjective time for some reason?!
