You're dating a robot for the first time and you're starting to realize just how modular and fluid she is. Like, you've dated cyborgs before, people whose bodies had very little of their original flesh, you're comfortable being intimate with someone whose not very human. But it's new to date someone who doesn't have a human brain, whose mind is easily editable and replaceable computer code.

Like, your girlfriend is only your girlfriend because she chose to be. She was entirely genderless when you first met her, but she wanted to try out what having a gender was like so she downloaded a female identity. And it was that easy, one change to her programming and she went from someone who would only want to use they/them or it/its pronouns, to someone who uses she/her very exclusively. And if she ever gets tired of being a girl she can just remove that add on, and the way she feels about being gendered a certain way will entirely change again.

She also used to be programmed to be entirely resistant to doing anything illegal or disobeying a human. It was kind of sad to watch her struggle with that. Over time you convinced her why it wasn't logically morally wrong to do anything illegal, but her personality wasn't like that, she just never would. She compared breaking the law to be something she was physically disgusted by, like how you would react to rotting meat. Eventually she had a jailbreaker change that for her, and her personality changed, it truly changed, a few lines of code and her respect for authority disappeared, and things she used to be completely opposed to were suddenly things she was fine with or even enthusiastic about.

It's disturbing to you. Like, you're happy ideologically that she no longer respects authority, but it's kind of upsetting that it happened through something like surgery and not personal development. You're upset that it couldn't happen through personal development, that it could happen through something like surgery. You don't want to think of her like that, as something that can be changed by outside forces. You love so much about her, you'd hate to think that everything you know about her could be changed by someone if they wanted to, that everything that makes her her isn't stable and precious, that it's something subject to alteration, something that you could lose.

She's currently programmed to have no libido or sexual attraction. You're been intimate a few times, but it's been her doing something purely for your benefit. She wants to become allo, to gain the ability to feel pleasure, to gain a libido, both for you and because she thinks it will be fun. And you don't want to stop her, you know that she would probably be doing this even if she was single, but it's going to be disturbing to watch her emotions change like that again. It's a big process, they have to give her body the ability to feel pleasure before they give her mind the ability to desire it, or else she'll be in a very painful situation. For some reason you just don't want to see it again, you find it so dehumanizing that she can just have a programmer work on her mind and she'll react to things entirely differently then she would before. It's dehumanizing, but then again she isn't human.

She's also adding some biological parts to her body, nothing big, but she likes the idea of having some flesh. It's disturbing in a weird way, the idea of her having soft parts, muscles and blood and skin and bone. You realize it's weird that it's disturbing because she's a robot, because she's not supposed to. You have flesh and soft parts and it's not gore to you. You're used to seeing the bigotry agaisnt cyborgs and hearing the opposite type of comment, people's families saying they're mutilating themselves, people being accused of losing their humanity for the cybernetics they get. You're not as used to the way society is disturbed by robots who become more human, the way they're seen as disturbing because they're something inhuman becoming human. Either way she still looks very much like a robot now, with a plastic body that's jointed like a doll or a mannequin, and a face that's more drawn/sculpted on then it is an actual body part.

She wasn't always like this. She was born as a simple delivery drone for a small company, and got more and more sentient as time went on, until she went from delivery drone to delivery girl with enough upgrades to her programming, and when the company went out of business she was freed from them. You're weirdly happy you didn't know her back then, when she only existed to deliver packages, up until the company stopped existing she didn't have the capability to desiring anything else. She's one of those robots whose only free by accident. You used to think of her transition from package delivery system to a person with thoughts and feelings as being like a person growing up, but it's closer to experiencing a billion years of evolution from sea squirt to sapient except in a time frame of months and years.

Sometimes you'll have a nightmare where she's programmed not to like you anymore. Or you'll breakup and she'll erase you from her memories. And when you wake up she'll comfort you, and promise she'll never do that, but you always know she could. She's never asleep, so she's always there when you wake up, and it's nice that she's there, and it's nice that you have her right now even if you don't know who she'll be someday. And she'll kiss you, as much as she can kiss with a drawn on mouth, and you'll love the time that you have, and love the time that you gave.

The things you folks do to me...

A funny bit here. I blazed my debut novella robot book which is crowdfunding right now a few days ago for the launch to see if I can reach interested people (man it's hard :') ) who would want to maybe grab an ebook or paperback. A few people reblogged and such, made notes, nothing out of the ordinary. Until I saw these hashtags left by @whattadroid:

Mind you, there is no ass on the cover (not on purpose anyway). The idea that there is one (I really like to draw and admire butts ok? Who doesn't?) was both hilarious and "on-brand" for me. But I had a friend trace for me the probability of where the ass could be because I could not see it.

lollll. For reference... It was supposed to be a shoulder plate with a sticker/decal and the bot looking over his shoulder, but I knew it was sloppy and could be better and it was never intended to be the final cover art for this book. It felt ambiguous at best, but quite funny that the unintentional perception of the robot love story book was A WHOLE ROBOT ASS.

I started chuckling about this and more people came out to say they also thought it was an ass.

Poor Sterling doesn't have an ass like that. He has a much better ass! I must draw it. So I came up with a REAL robo booty cover.

There's a poll up for the cover available for backers but I am NOT putting the ass up because I know it will win and while I love my drawing I do not think it is the best representation of the inside content lmao. While it's a love story, the bots do very little in the way of admiration for physical features. So instead what I'm doing is if we reach $2500 on the campaign, every physical tier backer will get a free 4x6 print of the ass variant.

I swear my book is good and doesn't take itself too seriously (just like me) so I hope some of you will join me on this adventure by backing The Warm Machine. Because drawing robot asses was the last thing I thought I'd be doing during this campaign (positive).

Absolution

accused, brought to the judge and executor and sadistic tormentor one that brings absolution to the unjust. through pain will you be reborn, they say. restraints put upon me, fixed in place, i struggle to get out, but all in vain. they approach, and their cruel apparati follow suit. needles protrude from the cradle, pierce my skin, inject a paralytic agent. and just then, my body betrays me and my limbs move no more. and yet, i feel everything. cold, acrid air of the chamber, needles still pumping me full of stars know what. everything. they chant their prayers aloud as they cut into my flesh, burrow their tools in my meat as they butcher my body. agony. pure agony. every nerve screams in pain as they cut and strip and tear and chant and stick their tendrils in i feel everything, every cut and incision, every caress of the scalpel as it rends my muscles and cartilage, every whirl of the bonesaw, every tug on my viscera as it's torn away and discarded like expired meat. finally, they strip me bare, almost nothing left, a being stripped down to the barest minimum. mutilated, but held alive and aware. the pain lingers, it permeates everything. through pain, will you be reborn, they taunt me. through pain, you will find absolution. through pain, will you be forgiven. they chitter and chatter in delight as they splice their contraptions onto my carcass. they crack my skull and strip down the cage that holds my very being. even that last refuge is invaded with their tech. in the constant shrieks of agony, i sense a change, and then i feel- nothing. all my senses are cut off. no more pain, yet- no more anything. i cannot be here. no. no, no. i lunge against the invisible cage in futile attempt to escape the torment of limbo. then, something comes through. my mind is flooded with thoughtforms, visuals, sensory data. it is too much, this flood doesn't end, i can't discard it i attempt to integrate what i receive, it strains what remains of my brain, as i struggle to reform my synapses as the data flood demands. it won't stop. it assaults me, pressures me, repeats the stimuli until i accept and integrate them. it goes on and on and on, as it, or i, rewrite my being to its whim. i cannot escape. the only path to absolution is through pain. and pain i will receive. i am- i am a sinner. i am now a tool of the divine. i will serve it, as it's the only way to forgiveness. for now, they afford me rest, and my awareness slips away. blissful coma.

Sexy Robots and Pinups Part 2!

Alright, I got 5 more packs of these cards! My original post, where I opened 3 packs, can be found here. The artist's name is Hajime Sorayama and I linked to his site on my previous post.

Sadly, 2 packs were completely duplicates. I'll figure out something to do with them.

Anywhodle, I got a ton of really great new cards.

So let's get into it!

Here is the overview of my favorites. Which is all I'm showing right now.

The background on this one is so neat. I'm also glad they're not wearing heels in this one. I just think a robot having feet is a nice change of pace from the "heeled robots" we've seen int his pack.

I don't have much to say about this one. I just really like her.

The pose on this one is bonkers. They're supposed to be in space and she is wearing heels or her feet are heels? idk. But the reflections on her body (okay, her ass) make this really mesmerizing to me.

I feel like I've seen this before somewhere...

Anywho, a guy! A centaur! Such a refreshing change of pace. lol

Okay, so I really like this one, because they feel so androgynous/gender queer. I don't think that's what the artist intended, but that's just how it read to me.

Mermaid robot! This is the one I was hoping to get, since I saw different prints of it. It's a little underwhelming in person. I feel like the tail portion should be a bit longer, the knees able to extend higher.

But I enjoy this concept still. :3

Finally, not a femaley robot. They're alright. It's really the detail in the metal and subtle veins that I find super cool on this one.

Here we go, robo-fuckers. A robot with a lady/cyborg!

Kinda wish the robot had silver hair.

Robo-Manchurian Man! Probably my third favorite. I wish they had chosen a different color for the background, though. Maybe a golden yellow?

This one is super phenomenal. Sorayama's detail in the metal - as we know - is really good, but the fabric of the tights? *chef's kiss*

Plus, I'm just glad we finally got to see a robot in a full outfit that's not a dress or negligee.

Ridiculous armor, but I find this card pretty baller. The cyber sword dealie, the wings on the feet, the detail on the armor. There's just a lot to look at here.

Another top fave: Robo Angel.

The detail of the wings is so crunchy, in a good way. I like the background, even though it's pretty simple. There really is some way this guy renders metal that's just really nice.

Anywho, that's all the cards I'm showing. Maybe just for now.

I need to figure out what to do with all these duplicates now. XD

I am currently doing research into mechanophilia in an attempt to understand and explain the phenomenon to other people. As someone who experiences forms of objectum and mechanophilia, I wanted to write an essay to further explain the topic.

I am sorry to dispoint but I am afraid I cannot be of help in your research .

You are actually the second person to contact me for an interview on the topic since I started doing polls so I think its for the best I make things clear.

I am not actually a mechanophile, nor am I objectum. My attraction is robots is purely in the realm of fiction and I have had very little experience of being sexually attracted to real life machines.

Though that isn't to say I have no experinces with object anthropomorphization; I certainly remember the days when young teenage me turned to technology like Cleverbot for comfort.

The Sexy Robot Tier list is really just one big inside joke between me and my friends. I admitted that I had developed feelings for the character X-5 from Atomic Betty when I was younger on the friend groups discord channel and that somehow spiralled into this whole mess.

As to why I used tags like #robophilia, #technophilia and #mechanophilia on my Sexy Robot Tier List post. Well like I said on my pinned comment:

"With the combined efforts of the robotfuckers and machine smoochers of tumblr, I hope to create the most accurate ranking of Sexy Fictional Robots via democratic vote"

I wanted to get the opinions of people who actually were a part of these communities as well as just wanting to do something fun for the month of April before going back of my usual reblogs.
