I'm currently saving up for a bass viola da gamba, and have been talking to a couple of friends about starting our old early music trio up again that we played in back when I was a college & uni music teacher- I specialised in Renaissance broken consort music and have been really missing it lately. While we've been talking repertoire I've started transposing my parts up for my violin which will do for now but it's not a great substitution. Really excited to get back on a viol though!

I have a bit of a phobia of staircases of all things 🤣 I went bungee jumping a while back and that was great fun! Climbing up the staircase to the ledge? Horrifying, no thank you.

I make painted embroidery patterns and have an Etsy shop that I sell them on. I usually use watercolour to paint my sewing with, but I've got a few patterns that I used metallic acrylic with and omg I had just the best time with that. Will have to do more soon, I love shiny things lol!

Bruce, watching over a freshly street-snatched Jason: Why is he so calm

Having Dick as the rambunctious, feral, and unhinged first child must've given him SO much whiplash once Jason entered the picture. Lil guy just vibed in his own world. Just reading books and doing schoolwork. Baby Jason hurt nobody.

Bruce will just be going over the ground rules of the manor, remembering all the chaos Dick brought upon the household.

Bruce: No swinging from the chandelier.

Jason: ?? I wasn't planning to?

Bruce: No murder.

Jason: What? That never even crossed my mind-

Bruce: And please, for the love of God, don't sneak out and try to beat up the nearest criminal on our block

Jason: WHO is responsible for these rules being created??

Bruce will just come home from a long day of work. He's tired and just wants a nice, quiet evening, but he's subconsciously psyching himself up to prepare himself for the chaos he'll witness once he enters the manor

but then Jason's just quietly doing his own thing, maybe even helping Alfred with some chores, reading, or just lounging about in the manor. In general, just causing no trouble and Bruce just turns to Alfred, all worried like, "Is he sick? I don't think children are supposed to behave this way."

Batfam Ask: what height do you headcanon them to be?

Jason - 6'4 (a good 4 inches are from the Pit)

Bruce - 6'1 or 6'2 (depending on how angsty I'm being; he's big like Affleck though. if he's closer to 6 feet Dick has a chance at pretending to be Batman; if he's closer to 6'2 then Jason's probably the only one who can wear the suit easily)

Duke - 6'0 (in my AU he's probably a little shorter and hasn't reached his full height yet)

Dick - 5'10 (so close to six feet, it kills him)

Tim - 5'9 (short king, surprisingly ok with it)

Cass - 5'8 (I know she's shorter in canon but I need her to be able to hold her own and 5'5 just isn't as believable to me I'm sorry)

Barbara - 5'6 (three inches above the national average for women, she likes to remind people)

Steph - 5'5 (quick because she's shorter than everyone else, but tall enough she still has a fighting chance with a larger opponent)

Damian - 5'0 (adult height is 5'8-5'9, coincidentally this is also Talia's height...didn't inherit that gene from Bruce, rip buddy)

Bonus: Alfred is 5'11 but no one can firmly identify his true height if asked. He's both short and tall depending on the situation. Clark is 6'3 and lords that extra inch over Bruce all the time; Jason does the same, but to him instead. He's one inch taller than Superman - the Pit was totally worth it, huh?

I honestly think Jason is the type to either cringe at compliments/nice words or just not know how to respond. And then he'd replay the moment in his head over and over while laying in bed, staring at the ceiling. It'll haunt him in the shower the next day for good measure.

The batfamily - Dick, Bruce, Jason, Tim, Damian, Steph, Duke, Cass, and Harper - knee deep in mud all tired, filthy, sweaty, and super mad, digging up the front yard because Jason buried the body of a mob lord in front of wayne manor years ago to piss off bruce but forgot where he buried it and now the city wants to pipeline maintenance work there.

Lucius came out on the deck. It was 3 AM and he needed a smoke. He had another one of his nightmares, but what had truly woken him up was the sound of that fucking bell Blackbeard has to wear around his neck, yes, even while asleep and he’s quite a tosser. In both senses.

“Not sleeping either, huh, twatty?” 

“Jesus, fuck me!” Lucius winced at the sudden voice behind him, it took him a second to recognize the voice, “Oh, it’s you. No, guess not.”

Izzy sat down on the deck beside him. “What? You came here to lecture me some more?”

“No, came here to smoke, actually,” Izzy said, taking Lucius’ cigarette and pulling a lighter out of his pocket.

He took a long drag from his cigarette, “These’ll kill you, y’know” He remarked before blowing out the smoke from his mouth.

“So much for not lecturing me, I see” Lucius replied, a hint of a lightheartedly sarcastic smile on his lips.

Izzy chuckled, this was the first time he saw the remnants of the old Lucius. An idea popped into his head, he decided to go for it. 

“Have you ever been sketched?” Izzy asks and takes another drag from his cigarette.

Lucius turns his head towards him. Almost not believing what just came out of Isreal Hands' mouth. He raises his eyebrows, asking for confirmation.

Izzy doesn't take that smug look off his face, the same look he gave him before giving him that godforsakenly beautifully whittled shark. However, as Lucius has noticed, Izzy has been stealing little glances at his lips throughout this entire exchange.

Lucius blew the smoke out of his mouth slowly, clearly looking at his lips, and started leaning in. Izzy leaned in too, just a little.

Their lips met halfway. It was a nice kiss, fulfilling in some strange way. Both of them were attracted to each other, there was no doubt, but the kiss wasn't as passion-filled as Lucius had thought it was gonna be.

Maybe it was Izzy's approach that changed. Maybe it was he himself who changed, Lucius thought. Maybe it was both of them.
