"La vida apestaba a muerte.⠀⠀ Tenía eso en la cabeza, ayer por la tarde, cuando entré donde Hassan, en el Bar des Maraichers. No se trataba de una de esas ideas que a veces te pasan por la mente, no: realmente olía la muerte a mi alrededor. Su olor a podrido. Repugnante. Me pasé la nariz por el brazo. Me dio asco. Era ese olor, el mismo. Yo también apestaba a muerte. Me dije: "Tranquilízate, Fabio. Vuelves a casa, te das una duchita y, tranquilamente, te coges la barca. Un poco del frescor del mar, y todo volverá a su sitio, verás".⠀⠀ ⠀ "Life stank of death. ⠀⠀ I had that in mind yesterday afternoon when I walked into Hassan's at the Bar des Maraichers. It wasn't one of those ideas that sometimes cross your mind, no: I really smelled death around me. Its rotten smell. Disgusting. I ran my nose down my arm. It disgust me. It was that smell, the same. I, too, stank of death. I said to myself: "Calm down, Fabio. You go back home, take a shower and, calmly, you take the boat.
