The Neptune Memorial Reef Cemetery is the World’s Only Underwater Cemetery

‘The Neptune Memorial Reef Cemetery’ is located in Miami, Florida, and serves as an underwater mausoleum for cremated remains, as well as a home for a growing marine habitat.  

Their mission is “creating life after life”, and is home to 195 coral colonies, diverse sea creatures, and even a sea urchin species thought to be extinct.

It has become a popular destination for scuba divers and the owners state that many local families dive the reef on a regular basis to visit their loved ones.
