AN: Heyo! I'm still on a hiatus of sorts but I wanted to post the magazine covers that I have chilling in my drafts. One at a time won the poll by slim margins but I just want to clean out my drafts folder while I work on chapter 6 and a little project I plan to share for my 3 year anniversary (June 20th).
I divided these by year. Everything already shared was 2032 -2033. This post is 2034, next one is 2035, and the last one is 2036 (the year chapter 6 starts).

Robert Bridgeman was British sculptor.
The John Rylands Research Institute and Library is a late-Victorian neo-Gothic building on Deansgate in Manchester, England. It is part of the University of Manchester.[4] The library, which opened to the public in 1900, was founded by Enriqueta Augustina Rylands in memory of her husband, John Rylands.[5] It became part of the university in 1972, and now houses the majority of the Special Collections of The University of Manchester Library, the third largest academic library in the United Kingdom. An incredible capture of this show for Closing! Some wandering is seen but never takes away from the action. Some shakiness from readjusting at time but never a lot. Very little washout is seen, only in major wideshots.

whilst the island danced the night away ...
The night of the masquerade was going smoothly. Everyone in attendance seemingly enjoying themselves. Sure, the occasional quarreling was overheard but that's to be expected when drinks are flowing from an open bar. What most attendees were unaware of was the stirring on the other side of the island. See, nestled at the tip on the edge of Ravenwyck is what appears to be a cozy lighthouse. The lighthouse is home to an ancient wixen who has kept their eyes glued on the prisoners of The Forgotten Isle since its start. Through ancient spells and charms, she along with a few others ensure that no one escapes. There's only been one incident that resulted in a painful death, resulting in none trying since. Unfortunately, whilst the rest of the island is enjoying themselves, a bubbling from inside the mountain of Midnight Labriynth stirred resulting in those thought dead floating to the surface. Ghosts and ghouls were silently making their way across the island, some causing mischief, others filled with confusion. A small group of ghouls led by the aforementioned prisoner made their way to the lighthouse, taking the guards and the ancient wixen by surprise and killing them resulting in most the warding spells failing and prisoners easily making an escape. Once word hit the council members at the masquerade, it was too late to stop things from escalating beyond repair. Acting fast, perhaps somewhat ill-advised, with help of a few powerful magic wielding beings they put the ball under lockdown. Those able to, with power left to see what they could do to calm the situation whilst the rest slowly started splitting attendees into groups until eventually all were split up, some with familiar faces, others not so lucky. Still, few knew what was actually happening, is keeping thousands of supernatural beings mixed with humans in the dark admist chaos truly the answer? There's truly only one way to find out.
Out Of Character Details: The music has stopped, the ball has come to an end, and attendees have been split into groups in hopes to better control the masses. It's possible that one or two have managed to slip out, but the majority are now under lockdown until things are under control.
ghosts are now an available species. more info can be found here. escaped prisoners can also be applied for, though at the moment we'll only be allowing one per mun.
in order to keep us from confusing the dash event threads from new ones, we've decided to test out Discord as we find it can be easier with group threads. Everyone will have access to all the groups as it is quite fun to be able to read what everyone is up to during the event! A Tupperbox tutorial will be shared on the resource blog and in the server, though the admins will also be around for any questions!
The groups have been randomized, and we've done our best to ensure muns don't have more than one character in a single group, but unfortunately for some we had to double up. You can find it below, under the cut.

granjon arabesque?
john ryder titled a section of his A Suite of Fleurons [charles t. branford, boston, 1957, p21] «A Venetian Arabesque» believing first showing of an arabesque ornament with venetian printer gabriele giolito in 1552; the section opening displays monotype 280 as ryder believed it to be a recutting of this «giolito» ornament [2nd illustration]. ryder cites no source within his text, but his bibliography reveals that he probably got the notion from the seminal paper by francis meynell & stanley morison «Printers’ Flowers and Arabesques» [The Fleuron, vol. 1, 1923]. meynell & morison tell us: «A new Development took place (circa 1550) in Venice. Gabriel Giolito cut a small unit of type-ornament whose pattern may be observed in book-bindings of an earlier date, e.g. those of Grolier.»—their illustration no. 10. meynell & morsison in notes to no. 10 indicate «Venice, Giglio, 1552», but they do not cite a book; also indicated is the monotype recutting, & their no. 10 indeed seems exemplar for monotype 280. so, giolito, circa 1550 in the text, but giglio, 1552 in the notes.  i spotted a similar ornament in the john rylands library on the title-page of Il Petrarca printed in 1551 [MDLI] by venetian printer domenico giglio [3rd & 4th illustrations] ¹: a year earlier than the meynell/morison attribution, indeed at venice, confirming giglio had a similar, though not the same, ornament. hendrik d.l. vervliet attributes this ornament to robert ganjon: it appears as no. 1 in his Granjon’s Flowers [oak knoll press, new castle (del), 2016, p23]—indeed, this may have been granjon’s first foray into arabesque. vervliet places first showing in the paris printing office of denis janot, 1544: parisian not venetian—vide ‹granjon’s first arabesque›. & under venice showings he cites the 1550 edition of boccacio’s Decamerone, printed by gabriele giolito—this must surely be the book erroneously alluded to by meynell/morison in Fleuron. vervliet further cites the meynell/morison giolito attribution for the assymetrical variant—presumably, as being superseded; & erroneously indicates that a matrix for the 1544 version is preserved at oxford university press [ibid., p24]. apparently, meynell, morison, & vervliet were unaware that they were looking at two like-though-not-the-same ornaments.  monotype 280 is not a recutting of granjon no. 1, the 1544 janot ornament, but a copy more diagonally symmetrical [cp. 4th illustration]: the undoubted exemplar for monotype 280 is to be found in oxford university’s fell types, & is shown by stanley morison in his John Fell [at the clarendon press, oxford, 1967, p182]. here again morison erroneously cites venice, 1552—presumably with reference to the 1923 Fleuron article; & further notes: «Plantin had a matrix for this ornament sorting with the Colineus Cursive of Granjon as remodeled by Henri du Tour² in 1575.» if plantin had sorted the asymmetrical-variant matrix with the colineus cursive it is no longer to be found there.
who cut the original asymmetrical unit?
¹ with thanks to the john rylands library for permitting my examination of the giglio petrarca. ² hendrik van den keere.
for a composition using 280 vide ‹wardropism no. 2›; for a digital setting vide ‹typographical ex libris›.

John Arnold DeMarco is a man who believes he is Don Juan, the greatest lover in the world. Clad in a cape and mask, DeMarco undergoes psychiatric treatment with Dr. Jack Mickler to cure him of his apparent delusion. But the psychiatric sessions have an unexpected effect on the psychiatric staff and, most profoundly, Dr Mickler, who rekindles the romance in his complacent marriage. Credits: TheMovieDb. Film Cast: Don Juan DeMarco: Johnny Depp Dr. Jack Mickler: Marlon Brando Marilyn Mickler: Faye Dunaway Dona Ana: Géraldine Pailhas Dr. Paul Showalter: Bob Dishy Doña Inez: Rachel Ticotin Doña Julia: Talisa Soto Dr. Bill Dunsmore: Stephen Singer Sultana Gulbeyaz: Jo Champa Woman in Restaurant: Marita Geraghty Detective Sy Tobias: Richard C. Sarafian Grandmother DeMarco: Tresa Hughes Don Alfonzo: Carmen Argenziano Rocco Compton: Tommy Lister Jr. Mariachi Singer: Selena Quintanilla Judge Ryland: Gilbert Lewis Don Antonio: Franc Luz Maitre D’ (uncredited): Lorenzo Caccialanza Film Crew: Screenplay: Jeremy Leven Producer: Francis Ford Coppola Producer: Patrick J. Palmer Director of Photography: Ralf D. Bode Editor: Antony Gibbs Casting: Lynn Kressel Production Design: Sharon Seymour Producer: Fred Fuchs Costume Design: Kirsten Everberg Original Music Composer: Michael Kamen Original Music Composer: Robert John Lange Storyboard Designer: Rick Newsome Characters: Lord Byron Executive Producer: Michael De Luca Co-Executive Producer: Robert F. Newmyer Co-Executive Producer: Brian Reilly Co-Executive Producer: Jeffrey Silver Choreographer: Adam Shankman Stunt Double: Lisa Comshaw Movie Reviews: talisencrw: I realize that I gave this too many marks, but if there’s anything I have realized about cinema, it can best be said by a line that I watched, performed by Jean-Louis Trintignant, where he stated (and I paraphrase), something like, ‘I can’t remember the movie, but I can recall my feelings’, and that sums up nicely why I feel the way I do about the movie. It’s an interesting idea acted well by very good actors (a lot of people dismiss Marlon Brando’s work here, but I don’t think it’s that bad, honestly). If anything, the problem here is the movie doesn’t know where to go after it’s decent start. Reno: **He who says every woman is a mystery to be solved.** One of the earliest films for Johnny Depp and very surprising. Thematically, the film is for the grown ups, but well made without too much sexual exploit. That means you can comfortably sit and watch with your family. This is not actually about Don Juan, but kind of ‘The Fall’. I mean the flashback reveals everything and remains as a mystery. The story follows a man who himself declares the real Don Juan DeMarco, the greatest lover of the world. So he ends in a psychiatric centre for the treatment after trying to commit suicide. A doctor who is on the verge to retire set to treat him and when the DeMarco narrates his life story, the doctor too inspires to reinstate his romantic life. The remaining narration tells how they work out to solve the issue once for all. Not a masterpiece, but kind of interesting drama, particularly for how the film characters were drawn. And the story was built cleverly, till the final scene by giving out the viewers a positive message that worth living life to love and to be loved. So if you opt it for the title, not a bad choice, since the theme remains about the love, even the person you are looking for is not present. More like it is a metaphor, when it comes to the real Don Juan and the one in this film. Like people say god is everywhere, the love is as well and so the version/personality of Don Juan in every person. Johnny Depp was so good, an ideal person to play the title role. Marlon Brando was too great, in a simple way. The rest of the cast was not bad, but the entire film focused on these two than anybody else. It’s been nearly 25 years since it came out, but I feel a remake would be not a bad idea with changes in the script. Todays writer and directors are clever at doing that, but it should come fr...

AN: I lied in my last AN, I do need to post this before @ardeney-sims posts this week. Mainly because Lauryn will have given birth by the next post I do. Also, in case you're wondering who everyone is, I'll put who's who below the cut.
The woman on the cover is a random sim, not an actual story character
Lauryn - we all know and love her. She's married to Tristen, Ryland and Blaze's brother and the CP of Druzar
Wendy - She is the sister in law to the current king of Axoiria. Neither she nor her children have royal stylings as her father in law, the former king, died before her wedding to Prince Robert.
Talia- She was featured once before. I did a magazine cover for her wedding to Eleazar Ingebretson. He is the cousin to Everly and Kiana.
Madilyn - aka baby wife aka Queen of Druzar
Audrina - Archer's twin sister, married to Eleanor's cousin, CP Brandan of Irenda
Sumi - The easiest relation to compare her is that she is married to Lord Marceau.  Marceau is Audrina and Archer's third cousin and very distantly related to the royal family. Sumi's mother in law is the current Duchess of Dorningen. Marceau will inherit ir after his mother's death.

THE FACE IS FAMILIAR… BUT I CAN’T PLACE THE NAME!
Same Actor / Different Character ~ Part 3: “Here's Lucy"
Tumblr media
It used to be quite common for actors to be cast in multiple roles on the same series. Not in principal parts, certainly, but in supporting and minor characters. Lucycoms were no exception. Although the world created by these shows was representative of reality, the characters who populated them often gave viewers Deja vu. By the time "Here's Lucy" premiered in 1968, Lucille Ball had developed a repertory company of actors that she used time and time again.
For the purposes of this discussion, we won't include background performers (aka extras) as they were nearly always drawn from the same pool of actors. Also, those who played multiple characters need to have at least one of them identified by name.
MARY WICKES
Tumblr media
Lucille Ball's good friend tops the list of actors who played multiple roles, with seven characters in nine appearances. When the series premiered, she played a secretary friend of Lucy Carter's named Isabel in two episodes. Perhaps there was no room for Isabel, so she disappeared, but Wickes did not! Due to the fact that she played a nurse in her breakout role in The Man Who Came to Dinner (both stage and screen), she also played several nurses. She even showed up as Lucy's sister-in-law, a nun, another type that she was often cast as in films. In addition, she was a maid to an eccentric dowager, a Montana matriarch, and a nosy neighbor.
JACK COLLINS
Tumblr media
Collins' six appearances span from season one in 1968 to the series finale in 1974. He played secret agent Johnson, expectant father Mr. Phillips, Vincent Price's producer Curt, Harry's eye optometrist Dr. Proctor, Harry's accountant Arthur Collins, and Harvey Stevens, proprietor of Harvey's Welcome Inn. Perhaps Collins is best compared to versatile actor Charles Lane on "I Love Lucy"?
CAROLE COOK
Tumblr media
Lucy's protege is back with more interesting characters - five of them, to be exact. She started the series as a wacky woman in Carol Burnett's audience, played crusading neighbor Sheila Casten, bridge club member Lillian Rylander, gangster Ma Parker, and Cynthia Duncan, a Lucille Ball look-alike. Ma Parker was by far Cook's largest and most adventurous role on the series.
IRWIN CHARONE
Tumblr media
Charone made five appearances on “The Lucy Show” and an equal number of “Here’s Lucy” episodes. Mr. Garfield of the Nippy Whippy Whipped Cream Company , dog owner Mr. Farnsworth, neighbor Chester P. Franklin, a permit office clerk, and college dean Phillips.
ROY ROBERTS
Tumblr media
Roberts made an impact as Mr. Cheever on "The Lucy Show." His first appearance on "Here's Lucy" was as the Superintendent of the Air Force Academy in a two-part season opener filmed on location. He returned as a NASA's Dr. Jensen in "Lucy and the Astronauts" (1971), Warden Maginetti when "Lucy Goes To Prison" (1973), and Dr. Honeycutt when "Lucy is N.G. as an R.N." (1974).

ROBERT CARSON
Tumblr media
Carson was a busy Canadian-born actor. While he never played supporting roles, he wasn't just an extra either. On "Here's Lucy" he played Martin Philips, Buzzy Brock, Sergeant Lou Holmes, and Officer Hurlow.
ROBERT ALDA
Tumblr media
Alda (father of Alan) was best known for originating the role of Sky Masterson on Broadway in Guys and Dolls (1950). He did four episodes of "Here's Lucy," the first as himself, hosting the Secretary Beautiful Contest. The role was originally written for Don Ameche, then re-cast with Ross Martin, before Alda was finally given the part.  He got to use his musical theatre skills singing the pageant’s theme.  He put his musical skills to use again as Dean Butler in "Lucy, the Co-Ed" (1970). He also sang as Captain MacClay in a two-parter set on a cruise ship to Hawaii.
WALLY COX
Tumblr media
Cox had come to the nation's attention as Mr. Peepers. On "Here's Lucy" he played ex-con safecracker Rock Barnett, wimpy Wally Manley, diamond cutter Gustav Vandermeer, and toy tycoon Tommy Tucker.
DORIS SINGLETON
Tumblr media
Singleton created the role of Caroline Appleby on “I Love Lucy.” She was slated to appear as Doris, a secretary colleague of Lucy's, on "Here's Lucy," but the role was eliminated after the first episode. She returned, however, for three more appearances, all as secretaries to the stars: Petula Clark's secretary Miss Perkins, Eddie Albert's secretary Patty, and Lucille Ball's secretary Doris, a role modeled after Ball's own secretary Wanda.
WILLIAM LANTEAU
Tumblr media
William Lanteau was a theatre actor who was most famous for playing Charlie the Mailman in On Golden Pond. His theatrical background surely helped him disguise himself in his four roles on "Here's Lucy". Unlike past guest actors, he looks significantly different in each one: Mr. Sherwood, a supermarket manager; Mr. Minkle, building superintendent; Spike, Ginger Rogers' secretary; and Edgar St. Vincent Kinkaid, antiques store manager.
DICK PATTERSON
Tumblr media
Patterson was seen by Lucille Ball performing on stage and cast on "The Lucy Show." RETA SHAW
Tumblr media
Shaw was a star of stage and screen (big and small) and Lucille Ball enjoyed working with her. This time, in the series' third episode, she played Mabel Ryker, using the same first name she had in The Pajama Game on stage and screen. She played Rita Forrester in "Lucy and The Group Encounter" (1972), and Mrs. Witherspoon, Lucy's prospective new boarder in "Lucy's Tenant" (1973).
LOLA FISHER

He trades on that reputation again as Doc Porter in "Lucy and the Ex-Con" and Rocky in "Dirty Gertie", another organized crime scenario. For a change of pace, he played Grandfather Konstantine Kasos in "Lucy's Wedding Party."
ELLIOTT REID
Tumblr media
Reid's work with Lucy goes back to "I Love Lucy". Here he plays three roles: Detective Harvey Gaines, Sammy Davis Jr.'s Director, and the host of Milton Berle's telethon.
PHIL VANDERVOORT
Tumblr media
Vandervoort was (briefly) Lucille Ball's son-in-law and Lucy believed in keeping it in the family, casting her children, her husband, and her cousin-in-laws on the series. Vandervoort, a handsome young man, makes only three appearances but each one is made to look dramatically different, perhaps to obscure his leading man good looks. He plays Kim and Craig's musician friend Steve (the most 'normal' of his appearances), computer geek Joe Hackley, and beaded handman Tommy.
BARBARA MORRISON
Tumblr media
Morrison returns to play two more imposing and imperious women: Harry's date Lady Agatha Warren, and finicky shopper Mrs. Murdock. With many other members of Lucy's acting company, she turns up as a diner in the series' penultimate episode.

RICHARD DEACON
Tumblr media
Deacon was one of Desilu's favorites, appearing on "The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour," "The Mothers-In-Law" and "The Dick Van Dyke Show." For "Here's Lucy" he played unemployment office worker (with show biz aspirations) Harvey Hoople, and Loan Officer Elmer Zellerbach.
