Some other minor things I noticed in IDW's Fang the Hunter

Fang is SMART.

While his trap against Sonic didn't work, well. there's no helping it, Sonic's protected by Looney Tunes armor, it'd be like Wil E. Coyote trapping Roadruner or trying to beat Bugs Bunny. There's gonna be shennanigans going on. But outside of Sonic?

He:

is able to tell when he's being tricked by observing his environment

can easily escape traps

is able to deduce Knuckles' next move

thinks quick in the middle of combat, acknowledging that 1:1 he can't face Knuckles alone so he frees Bean and Bark. Able to delegate attacks the hard boiled rider

is tech savvy enough to navigate a debilitated console

is able to predict where the ship will appear next, rivaling Tails through empirical evidence-based deduction.

I call this out because he's priorly fallen into the archetype of "dumb and dumber" failing at missions which is apparent since Triple Trouble. But its nice they've subtly explained through the fact that he'll always fail when it comes to Sonic via Looney Tunes rules (As established issue #1) but can hold his own against literally anyone else. It's a nice departure from how he was depicted in Archie and works with his re-establishment as a villain in Classic Sonic Games.

Fang likes Treasure for Money.

Now I know this seems kinda obvious but I like how it's shown in Issue #2 where it contrasts with his work ethic. He's currently focused on the 8th emerald, even though he could've stolen the master emerald, could've taken a detour to raid, especially since he was alone anyway, but no he acknowledges the bigger prize, what he needs (his flunkies) and what the current obstacles are in his way (knuckles).

I also like how his focus are on monetary value. He's not like Rouge who likes the shinies and there is less overlap with Knuckles who (in his modern counterpart) is a treasure hunter in his own right who seems to be in it more for the activity than the rewards.

Happy Birthday to the legendary Emmylou Harris! 🎉🎂🎶 Today we celebrate the life and career of this talented singer-songwriter who has left an indelible mark on the music industry.

Emmylou's musical journey began in the early 1970s, and over the course of her career, she has released over 25 albums and won 14 Grammy Awards. Her unique blend of country, folk, and rock has captivated audiences around the world, earning her a reputation as one of the most influential artists of her time.

One of Emmylou's most memorable collaborations was with Mark Knopfler, the lead singer and guitarist of Dire Straits. Together, they created the album "All the Roadrunning" in 2006, which features the beautiful song "Beyond My Wildest Dreams". This album perfectly captures Emmylou's signature sound, blending her beautiful voice with Mark's intricate guitar playing.

It's interesting to note that Emmylou's first job in music was as a waitress at the famous Greenwich Village club, The Other End. She was discovered while performing there, and the rest is history!

Indianapolis-bornproducer/rapper FreshDuzIt has crafted a unique conceptual mixtape series and alter ego called “Juugrassik.” Blending prehistoric flair with modern trap, this series showcases FreshDuzIt’s creativity and evolution as an artist. (Notably, he’s a trailblazing producer from Indianapolis – the first Black rap/trap producer from the city to go multi-platinum, thanks to NLE Choppa’s hit “Camelot”​

The Juugrassik series leverages that hit-making pedigree into a playful “Juugrassik Park” universe of FreshDuzIt’s own, where dinosaur motifs, cartoon imagery, and real street-smart lyrics collide in a world unlike any other in hip-hop.

Part 1: Land Before Rhyme (2022)

FreshDuzIt launched the series with Land Before Rhyme in June 2022​

Throughout Land Before Rhyme, comic-book ad libs (dinosaur roars, etc.) interweave with trap drums, creating a soundscape that’s playful but booming. Part 2: Tha Juugrassik Way (2024)

Two years later, FreshDuzIt returned with Tha Juugrassik Way Tape – the second installment of the series – and took his concept to the next level. Where Land Before Rhyme was the “dawn” of this dino-trap world, Tha Juugrassik Way feels like its evolution into a full-blown Jurassic era. The project dropped in October 2024 with 8 tracks and it showcases a refined sound and broader scope. FreshDuzIt doubles down on the booming 808-driven production and “juug” (hustle) themes, but this time the prehistoric references intermingle with more direct money and street motifs. In other words, Part 2 shifts focus to “the Juugrassik way” of the grind – the hustle-centric lifestyle that connects past and present. For example, the track “Foe tha Love of $” explicitly invokes the classic ’90s Bone Thugs phrase “for the love of money,” and it lives up to its title: an aggressive posse cut about chasing paper​

In fact, Tha Juugrassik Way steps up the collaborations and star power significantly. FreshDuzIt brings in heavyweight guests like Moneybagg Yo – who appears on “Foe tha Love of $”​ and Southern hip-hop veteran Lil’ Flip on the trunk-rattling closer “Drop It Off”​

These features give Part 2 a even more boost of mainstream credibility and energy. Additionally, the tape includes regional voices like 40kal and OFFTHEWOP Tunes (FreshDuzIt’s own camp) on that money anthem, and a fiery verse from female rapper Courtney Tha Coldest on the bass-knocking strip-club flavored “Yo Money In My Pocket (Work It)”​

By weaving in these guests, FreshDuzIt amplifies the mixtape’s intensity while still maintaining his own concept.

Sonically, Tha Juugrassik Way remains true to the series’ trap foundation – expect rattling hi-hats, deep bass, and catchy hooks – but FreshDuzIt’s lyrical style shows growth. His flow is sharper and the wordplay often links the project’s theme to real-world flexes. The tape opens with a quick intro and the track “Juugrassik 5,” a cheeky nod to the legendary hip-hop group Jurassic 5, reimagined in FreshDuzIt’s trap style.
