Hey guys, I'm going to be reposting the fundraiser of Mohammed Matar, the civil engineer. I'll let his own words do the talking.
"In February 2024, my wife was about to give birth. I could not provide clothes for my newborn daughter, nor milk, nor diapers, due to the brutal war and the scarcity of financial resources. Just writing and thinking about this thing makes my condition worse than tragedy. [...] My dear brothers and sisters, I did not accept one day to receive charity, but I had everything and I lost everything. Your support for me, even if it is a little, will change my life and the lives of my children so that I can provide them with milk, pampers, and safety, rebuild my home, and restore my life for the better.
I put my family first in everything. My children are the most precious thing. I have this life. I hope they live a more beautiful and better reality
Your support for me will strength my resilience and will keep me holding up . Thank you from the bottom of my heart
The land of peace has never seen peace.️✌️"
Here are photos of him with his son before October 7th:
Please do not hesitate to donate! They have an infant daughter of 6 months that imperatively needs diapers, formula, and clean water!

Netanyahu and former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant were accused of “crimes against humanity and war crimes committed from at least 8 October 2023 until at least 20 May 2024”, a statement from the court said on Thursday.
There are “reasonable grounds” to believe that Gallant and Netanyahu “intentionally and knowingly deprived the civilian population in Gaza of objects indispensable to their survival, including food, water, and medicine and medical supplies, as well as fuel and electricity”, it said.[...]
the ICC said on Thursday that it had unanimously decided to reject Israel’s appeal over the court’s jurisdiction.

i have like zero sympathy for professors structurally speaking and a lot more for students but just as a matter of rhetorical efficacy i do wish more students understood that a lot of the dysfunction of university teaching is the result of university policy and ultimately the result of universities being businesses / landlords first and foremost. like some professors are also just huge fucking assholes for sure but, simply replacing them with people who Care A Lot About Teaching won't actually do jackshit to make the classroom experience better so long as the institution itself has a bottom line it's serving by being, materially, a granter of pieces of paper that exist to be class barriers. however (and here is where sympathy for students also becomes limited) most students find these facts incredibly hard to recognise or to reconcile with their own political demands (such as they are) because they view themselves as temporarily embarrassed degree holders & are often primarily motivated by their own sense of being 'deserving' of the kinds of upper management / petit-bourgeois professional positions that these degrees are marketed as granting them.

despite the real world difference between a small business and some random independent artist, they've managed to coalesce together by both being incredibly annoying and reactionary on the internet.

I'm not actually sure if posts / fundraiser pages that contain photos and videos of children tend to raise more money, but god, I almost hope not

“As we implement our new strategy of replacing tents based on areas and encampments most in need, we want to share with you this story of a family in dire conditions - this is the brother of the honorable martyr Refaat Alareer.
We have known about this extended family and the area they live in since mid July. However, it was not until this week that we could come in and serve this encampment of destroyed and makeshift tents.
Just to show you that no one in Gaza is immune to the suffering and pain, Refaat Alareer’s family, despite his magnitude as a Palestinian scholar and activist, is living in some of the worst tents we have seen.
It was our honor to assist them and respect the legacy of the man who we are so fortunate to have been given permission to name our camp after. Check back later in the week to see how we provided tents for Refaat’s brother’s family and supported the encampment that needed so much help.”
Please continue to give so we can serve these communities with shelter this winter. The Tents, Cash Aid, and Medical campaign:

Support My Family Journey to Safety and Peace
✅ Verified campaign – please check the end of the story 🔍📌
🚨 🚨Urgent Appeal 🚨🚨
My name is Jaber Al-Haj, a graduate with honors in Applied Chemistry. I currently reside in Kuwait, but my heart and thoughts are constantly with my family, who remain in Gaza amidst the ongoing war and devastation. My wife, Muna, and our 2-year-old son, Hashem, live under the constant threat of violence and uncertainty. Every day, I worry about their safety and well-being, and my greatest wish is to bring them to Kuwait, where they can find peace, security, and a fresh start.
After graduating, I started a small cleaning products business in Gaza with my brother, Aboud. We built a modest lab from scratch, and over time, it became a stable source of income for our family. We dreamed of expanding and creating more opportunities, but our hopes were shattered when relentless airstrikes destroyed everything we had built, reducing our lab and future to rubble.
The war didn’t just take away our business; it also separated me from my family. It has been over a year since I’ve seen my wife and child in person. Unable to travel back to Gaza, I feel helpless being so far away from them during these difficult times. Despite all my efforts, it has been equally challenging to bring them to Kuwait, where I could offer them the safety and stability they so desperately need.
The Goal of This Campaign:
I am aiming to raise $29,000 to help bring my wife, Muna, and our son, Hashem, from Gaza to Kuwait, reuniting us and ensuring their safety far from the dangers of war. The funds will also help me rebuild our business in Gaza with my brother, Aboud, by securing a new location, purchasing equipment, and restarting production—giving us a chance to restore our livelihoods and hope for the future

Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and for standing with us during this challenging time.
Warm regards, Jaber Al-Haj
