Ok I know it’s been 4 days since I went to WWWY and I’ve been back from Vegas for a full day now but I still wanna post a recap of my experience !!!!!

-went to see atomic saloon, a raunchy performance. Tickets were $47 on my phone and $157 on my friends, even for the same seats, so I ended up ordering them. I get the confirmation and it’s “partially obscured view” uh oh. It’s fine… probably?

-it wasn’t fine we got tickets ON STAGE in pews facing the audience. Honestly got to see a lot of ass and the performers made sure ro face a lot but 😭😭😭

-also they gave us shots as part of the act, I thought it was prop shots like apple juice but no it was straight whiskey 😭 also my friend took her shot too early and then dropped the glass hdjsjdjd ON STAGE

-tipsy, we got gelato, and then I went back to the hotel to see @slowwshoww which was sooo nice we see each other once a decade

-WWWY: I got barricade for Coheed and & Cambria and near barricade for Underoath & Motion City Soundtrack which was indaaaane MCS was the best performance by a long shot go see them!!!

-I was in the crowd for a lot of performances which is new for me but it was FUN! Even when I couldn’t see the vibe of just being with people was fun

-became the ring for a mosh pit until a tall girl, who was definitely younger than me, said she’d protect me and moved me into her spot. Like girlie I was bracing a grown man so he didn’t fall over I was fine!!! But everyone sees someone who is 5ft tall and wants to save them I guess

-except for the MCR crowd, lmao. Crowd surged forward FIVE FEET in 2 seconds and literally lifted BOTH of my feet off the ground 😭 it was so hot and the men around me were so tall that I jsut decided to leave and go to the back cause there was definitely a 50% chance I was gonna faint

-MCR was great, they brought out some superior three cheers tracks and j lost my fucking mind

-next day my friends decided for day two tix and I stayed, walked 3 miles of the strip, and watched emos per sting rays at the aquarium it was nice and gentle

-then we went to omega mart!!! Very cool, very interactive art exhibit. Kinda reminded me of sleep no more bht without the theater. So more flashy, less actors/plot, but still sbour enrichment and set design and solving a mystery! Rly great

-and now I’m HOME yeeehaw

Very fun trip I am never ever ever doing festivals again tho. In the 12 hours at the fest, I only ate once because I simply forgot. I think that’s also why I almost fainted lmao.

PAGE 32-  A new week! We are still trying to keep our spending down for our trip to Iceland in October, so it’s been no new movies for us.  I did watch a filmette? called ‘Darling’ that is only an hour long, that could have been good. they had 2 distinct plot conceits that they set up and tried to do both at the same time, which really lessened the impact of both.  Scary story opinion: Vagueness is fun and can be scary, but if you also provide an answer, you can’t pretend it is vague and spooky. 

I listened to a butt-load of music this and I would recommend most of it.  Mothers are especially good, if a couple years old.  I try to listen to a good mix of new and old, but recently there has been so much new that I don’t dip into old as much.  Even the Coheed & Cambria is the newest stuff (which I also really, really have enjoyed)

I’ve also started reading a book called ‘The Consciousness Instinct’ by Michael Gazzaniga which has been pretty great. It starts out be tracking the concept of consciousness through philosophical antiquity and the idealogical separation of the mind and body, which is really fun as it weaves nicely into my listening of the Philosophize This! podcast. I love that kinda connection. 

Anyways-watch something uncomfortable, listen to something new, read something different!

When did you create your blog: September 2008. 

What kind of stuff do you post: My writing (both original and fanfic), inspiration for my writing, Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Destiny, TMNT, general science fiction and fantasy bits, music, cats, jellyfish, weird macabre things that strike my fancy. 

When did your blog reach its peak: I’m not sure? Probably when I started writing about Rhyssa and Fenris, because I had a few ficlets get fairly popular (which still delights me to no end -- people like my idiot Hawke! :D). 

Do you have any other blogs: I had others, but they’ve all been abandoned. One was a TLS inspiration blog, but since all that’s moved over here, I let it languish. 

Do you get asks regularly: Sometimes! If I do a prompt meme I’ll get a bunch, but otherwise not too many come in. 

Why you chose your URL: This was my lj name for years, and slowly spread into all my social media (if you see “theherocomplex” somewhere, it’s almost certainly me). The idea of having a brand, so to speak, tickled me quite a bit, and still does.

Average hours of sleep: Usually around 7; recently, about 5.

Favorite manga characters: Probably Shuichi from Uzumaki, poor guy. 

How many blankets do you sleep with: I sleep under two down comforters in the winter, and a light quilt in the summer. 

Dream job: Cult fantasy author, please and thank you! 

Dream trip: Renting a house near the water in Scotland and spending two weeks just writing and knitting and taking long walks and being as quiet as possible.
