Ghost: I was lookin' for MacTavish... who the fawk is this lanky tosser? 💀
Oh...and I'm slowly rehoming my Cod stuff over at @hauntedbubbles 💀🧼
Fun fact: I finally decided to cave and check out MW2, after I kept seeing you guy's Ghoap content, and I realised Soap was Scottish I thought he'd be a cool reference for my Scottish Nate and his military background!...never expected to end up with a new hyperfixation 🤣
the mod is Modern Warfare SAS Companions - Ghost and Price and they're both voiced (MW 2019 Ghost)

first done off the backlog, ghost trick. finished it before work (a fucking awful shift)
it's real good, great characters with great designs, animations, story is good, v twisty, and the sort where saying almost anything is a spoiler. let's see. you died, but now youre a ghost and can do tricks on inanimate objects in the world, and go back to 4 minutes before someone'sdeath. you have no memory at all, but perhaps in helping this detective you can figure out who you are and everything else. *definitely* go in blind. i think the gameplay shines early on, when it's just letting you play in the space and see what you can do with your powers, but can be frustrating later on when it's asking for quick timing (esp if the solutions are odd).
it's kinda a puzzle game, but it thinks you're getting a mastery of it that i didnt really get, as each trick is fairly unique. as a constrast, in say portal, it starts you off v slow, introducing the concept of portals, then ideas like flings. you can build on prior aspects, with later puzzles building on now learned aspects. ghost trick tries this but your tricks are so unique to each level, that when it tries to test you with timing or difficulty, it can just be frustrating. the game is helpful, trying to give vague hints and pointing out if youre on the wrong trail but you really only know what things do once youve done them, so chapters like the minister i just looked up what i needed to do bc of the "solve it at the end of the time" issue, and a particular dark level was frustrating even with a solution tbh. i think being able to scrub through time would be helpful, to be able to fast forward or rewind a few seconds, as replaying the whole section can be tedious (hence why i just looked it up).
really recommend it, go in blind in terms of story, but look up solutions if need be. this game is funny and weird and wonderful

saw a cowboy as i was leaving work last night. i am not entirely unconvinced that it was your cowboy ghost. you’ve doomed us all.
i would be entirely surprised if this guy followed me all the way across the sea but you know, whats a little Yee-Haunt to end your work night, amiright?
for context i did a panel at a convention recently here telling stories about my experience on the overnight shifts from when i lived in texas, ofc you're bound to run into some cowboy ghosts. so heres a snippet from my little talk about my time working in a restaurant on the late shift.
'cuz see I've had experiences before, when i was younger, at my first hotel job. (yeah i'm old and I've worked in hotels basically my whole life.) I used to work in a hotel restaurant in a swanky Holiday Inn in a my hometown (listen i know there's no such thing as a Swanky Holiday Inn but my boss tried very hard to make it so.) i didn't work the overnights, but i did work the closing shift, so sometimes i would be there past midnight cleaning up. one of my first nights there alone i was cleaning the ice machine, and this thing had a huge metal scoop and a pick. and the cook and i were chatting and laughing about something, and suddenly this ice pick flings itself off the counter so hard it embeds itself in the wall right beside my elbow. needless to say we were shocked. musta slipped right? now my restaurant was above a basement, and in that basement was a bar. i could see the entrance to the bar because one of the walls of my restaurant was made of glass and looked down on the entry. it was all enclosed inside the hotel, nothing was outside. so one day the bar has closed early and i'm looking down in the dark and watching the entrance and i see an old man walk into the bar and im thinking, huh. thats weird cuz i saw Al leave and i know he locked up. so i goes out the side entrance of my restaurant dining area that leads to a staircase that goes right down to the bar, and i go down to see whats up and i look through the glass door and i see a cowboy sitting at the bar. its dark. no ones there, i try the door and its locked. i take out my walkie and i call security. and two seconds before he gets there, i knock on the glass, you know the tune, classic shave and a haircut, and the cowboy looks up. he makes eyecontact with me and he has these blue blue eyes. and he gives me this grin, like he knows what hes up too, knocks twice and i blink and hes gone. someone tells me later a scorned woman murdered her lover there by throwing a knife so hard it embedded him to the wall. to be frank that sounds like a pretty convenient story to scare me, but after that i made sure to talk to the noises i heard around the place at night. just in case.'
next time you see my ol' cowboy with his blue blue eyes and haunting (ha) grin, tell 'em i said hello. and remember to talk to the noises you here when youre alone. you never know.

if i did a reread of the walking dead and wrote an essay on how aegon ii and carl are doomed to be the last man standing by their narratives, and what starts out as a sort of cool & nifty super power of always surviving turns into this horrific curse where everyone they know is dying around them & sometimes it’s their fault & sometimes it’s not but either way they can’t ever stop it until they’re sitting at the ending with nothing but their lone daughter to protect but so broken they can no longer connect to her and then their story abruptly ends-
would that be like the Most stupid, nerdy thing i have ever done in my life or
#valyrianscrolls#aegon the usurper#carl grimes#i associate the phrase ‘last man standing’ so heavily with carl that i used it to describe aegon and my brain short circuited#also…something something ‘if we forgive our fathers what else is left’ and ‘you can never escape your mothers blood’#re: carl’s life going so badly bc of his father’s vicious & world destroying love. and viserys destroying aegon’s life bc of his own lack of#love for aegon. completely accident. neither viserys or rick set out to create a worse world and yet.#and lori and alicent standing like ghosts over their babies. what do you do when your mother’s misery in her marriage is the reason your#life went off the rails. how do you hate her for it yet how do you love her.#rick ultimately dying at the hands of one of his victims. viserys rotting to deal surrounding by the children he emotionally abandoned.#THERES SOMETHING HERE#ROBERT KIRKMAN I KNOW YOU WERE AT CONS WITH GEORGE DID U EVER HANG OUT A BIT. YOU BOTH LOVE DOOMED BY THE NARRATIVE STORIES#AND HATE HOW PUSHY YOUR FANBASE IS AJSJDJ#getting on my soap box#this is comics carl obviously show carl is also my child and last man standing it’s just that they didn’t want to pay chandler riggs money#and killed him off. in my mind show carl outlives rick & michonne & judith & rj. just carl & maggie on opposite sides of the coast#alone with their grief and refusing to speak bc they no longer have the words.#carl’s daughter asks why her name is mj and carl’s grief chokes the words
