I think riverdale s7 will end with there being a way home to the future but there will be a choice as to who wants to leave and who wants to stay. And Archie will want to stay, whether or not that’s what he chooses idk but he will toy with the thought of living in a universe where he can have a do over of his life without it having been ruined by trauma or mistakes etc.

cheryl and veronica are both misandrists but the difference between the two of them is that cheryl's trying to single-handedly turn society into a matriarchy with her weird little cults, while veronica would love to be the only feminist on planet earth just so she can feel superior to everyone else

In context it’s a very sad and dramatic moment but out of context Brooklynn’s “He was smiling! He was controlling a dinosaur, and he was smiling!” breakdown reads a like a line from Riverdale lmao

I'm working on a project and wondering if anyone has any good Fandom Conspiracy Theories they'd like to share? I'm looking for things about the fandom or meta of the show, not the plot. Some examples:
Sherlock's secret 4th episode
The Pixar Theory
Eleven from Stranger Things is 3 inches taller than Millie Bobbie Brown
The One Direction boys are all secretly gay
Season 2 of Agent Carter takes place in California because the writers were mad people were shipping Peggy and Dotty
What I'm not looking for is things like: "I think X will happen because of in universe reasons".

blah blah blah riverdales lack of continuity aside season six having jughead die from the first born plague means that gay charles CANNOT be his brother, which poses the extremely funny theory that alice straight up lied about who her bastard sons father is. and I know she is not above that. I fully believe alice orchestrated the fp is the father lie as both a way of fucking with betty and a man of getting back with fp and I support her for it 150000%. charles' real father is probably just some off screen and irrelevant man OR there is the funnier option of his dad having been hal the whole time and alice just lied about the timeline of their relationship too.

was having a lot of riverdale thoughts so I just put down a basic layout of them. you guys Get It, right? you understand?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(click on pics for full thing)
I focused on the core five because they are the only ones who bring their own genres to the show, everyone else inhabits their’s depending on who they are usually associated with or in plotlines with (Kevin inhabits Veronica’s usually, sometimes Betty’s murder mystery stuff; Toni inhabits Jughead’s gang story until she’s pulled from that into Cheryl’s gothic story, and in later seasons she bounces between genres when they don’t have just one character to tether her to, while, in a way, upholding the gang story herself once Jughead leaves it) and in a way the cast outside of the core five can be said to inhabit the underlying teen drama more than any of the others because of this. It is of note that Archie is without a really strong main genre or set of genres his story inhabits. There a lot of Ideas with Archie, but he sort of does lack a genre. During the heart of the stuff with Hiram he inhabits the mafia story, but its presence in the show does not belong to him and is not brought about by him. My mother put it that his genre is “Archie Comics” which I think is a part of it, but not the whole thing certainly. I would also note that everybody inhabits the horror and murder mystery genres, it’s simply that horror is mainly tethered to Betty and Cheryl and murder mystery mainly to Jughead and Betty.

note: Many influences are probably left out and the list of teen dramas is literally just a list of the main ones I’ve seen. Though— as @kevin-keller-artistic-director will attest—Dawson’s Creek and Pretty Little Liars are definitely important ones.

Somewhere back in the end of January 2017, a new show came to us, in an era where all the shows we grew up with ended.
Tonight, RIVERDALE is coming to its end. I know some of us aren’t even sure of what’s going on there and how it went from great time to .. this but let us remember it brought so much great moments and enjoyable ones and obviously heartbreaking ones.
Rip CW Riverdale (January 26th 2017- August 23 2023) 2400 days on the mark, THANK YOU AND FAREWELL ❤️

I honestly think Midge is just going to give birth to baby Anthony again. Like we won’t necessarily see her give birth but they’re going to look into the camera and say they’re naming the baby after Toni. Giving the writers a convenient out of the Tangs marriage.
Alt/coinciding theory is that Adult Anthony and 2020’s Toni and Fangs are still in the sex bunker.

hey so if jughead's like in charge of this whole thing, that can mean:
he chose to make everyone queer "to balance out representation" "as an ally" bitch i know what you are
he made kevin the most obnoxious fucking guy he could because he dislikes kevin. all the characters are filtered through his view of them and jughead never looked at gay kevin with anything other than hatred (source: trust me bro).

Jughead's Memories 7x01
Okay so... go with me here. Tabitha is an angel. Jughead is her boyfriend. At the end of season six we see everyone hunkering down. The Coopers and the Andrews are together. But, Jughead doesn't have any family and you would think he would be with his two best friends, right? Nope. Who is he with? Tabitha and Pop. That is his family now. And because Cheryl can't stop the comet (only in Riverdale...) Tabitha, being an angel and chronokentic (omg what is this show??), sends everyone back to 1955 to save them. And when 7x01 opens, Jughead remembers everything. He doesn't know why and she doesn't know why (because she has to erase his memories at the end of the episode). But! What if he remembers because he is connected to her emotionally and because he's literally sitting right next to her when she uses her powers to save everyone? Pop is a very small character in season seven and it's never said either way if he remembers the first timeline. It's entirely plausible that he does seeing as he's Tabitha's grandfather, and the character of Pop was pretty deified in the show.

Anyways Im convinced this show is going to end in Jughead ascending to godhood and controlling fate via inventing Archie comics. Somehow this will also reveal that the survival and happiness of Archie Andrews is crucial to the towns survival, he’s like the fisher king of the town. Thats why everything went to hell after he got exposed to a bunch of traumatic stuff (like fighting that bear...his dad dying etc.) and then left to go fight in a historically ambigious war. Riverdale needs Archie and Archie Andrews needs Riverdale.

Can we all talk about how terrifying it would be if the plot of school spirits was put to other fictional world where lots of students died at school.Like imagine harry potter or river dale there would be so many ghosts walking around the schools.

Rivertumblr!! I’d love some help with an essay I’m writing!! I’ve procrastinated in making this post so this is a very timely matter—please spread this post!
I’m writing a final essay for one of my classes on Riverdale and queerness, specifically focusing on Archie, Jughead, and Kevin; and the concept of the teen drama and how Riverdale interacts with it and elevates the queerness already thoroughly essential in the genre due to the number of teen dramas with queer creators. If I had the pages, I’d be writing about Cheryl, Veronica, Toni, and Betty too and probably Reggie and the rest but as it is it’s a 15 to 20 page paper so my grand thesis on Riverdale will have to wait. I’m focusing on Archie as the center of the subtextual queerness of the show and Jughead as a self-hating, homophobic queer, and how he polices queerness in Riverdale through his control of the story. I’m focusing on Kevin as a parody and criticism of the gay best friend character and how far it is from a satisfactory form of representation.
With scholarly articles or sources of any kind on Riverdale and particularly its queerness being so absolutely nonexistent, but seeing as you all have formed so much of my view of the show and put things into words much better than I in terms of analysis; that is, seeing as you all are doing such high quality analysis on here, I would like to use you, Riverdale bloggers, as sources. Please message me with your thoughts on any of this, on Kevin, Archie, Jughead, Jughead as author and shaper of the narrative, Archie as center of the show’s queer subtext/queering of the all-American man, Kevin as a parody, the teen drama as a genre—its queerness, it’s functions—etc. Also if you have sources you think would be useful!! Particularly scholarly articles but also anything I could cite for discussing Archie’s Weird Fantasy! Thoughts on absolutely anything Riverdale analysis related would be greatly greatly appreciated, especially if you have posts you’ve made that are really well-put analyses that you’d be willing to have me cite, I’d be eternally grateful for absolutely anything at all 🫶🧡
