#rise/03 crossover

Based on this post where I was talking about a Rise/03 crossover and how the cartoon rules for each show are different. And as per the movie, the Rise turtles can swear.

rottmnt crossover with the 2003 series where Angelo accidentally teleports himself into the 03 universe & has to stay with the guys for a bit.

He gets along best with Mikey, surprisingly well with Don and Raph, but is constantly butting heads with Leo.

The guys go from a little surprised by this to extremely surprised when it comes out that this is because Mikey reminds him of his Leo, while 03!Leo reminds him of his Raph.

Ah.

Sorry but I love how low-key unhinged 03 Mikey is throughout the show (“Mikey’s got the look…” - Leo says before Mikey beats up a bunch of the police force over a comic) and I have no doubt he will be encouraging rise Mikey to commit arson.

They are called the arson bros and I won’t have it any other way.

Don’s voice sounded borderline frantic as soon as the communication cut off. But it was also smothered by an undertone of something Raph couldn’t identify. There were definitely at least two other people that had gotten roped into their mess via mistaken identity. Which meant something else rather obvious yet critically important. “I know genius. More mutant turtles,” Raph responded, already trying to figure out how to get all of them back, not just their brother.

“No-” Don corrected, then broke off partially to correct himself. “I mean yes, they are, but- nevermind. Raph, they’re kids.” Don’s emphasis was accompanied by raised hands as though he wanted to shake Raph, who was mildly surprised at what had actually caught his science nerd brother’s attention this time

“........... Okay normally I’m the one getting attached to kids on first sight,” Raph teased with a slight grin. “Don’t worry, I definitely noticed that too. We’ll get them back. But first let’s make sure Mikey didn’t get snatched as well. Why don’t you start tracking Augustine down while I call him?”

“Got it,” Don nodded, rushing off to half leap into his well cushioned chair by the computer.

So this sequence of pics actually smacked me in the brain in the middle of drawing my better genes comic way back in february. And getting around to drawing Rise Mikey on Raph's lap motivated me to go back and finish this one as a sprinkle of context X'D

8 | I was reading too many Rise + 2012 crossovers, but I don't know 2012 at all, so eventually brain decided to smack the 2003 boys in there instead.

Thinking about the mechanics of a Rise x 2003 crossover and one funny way to do it would be to have the characters retain the characteristics of their genres regardless of which universe they're in.

So for example, one of the rise turtles gets smacked in the face and their teeth go flying everywhere and fall out of their mouth, as is standard for looney toons-esque cartoons and happens in rise at least once. This freaks out the 03 turtles, even more so when the rise turtle gets his teeth back in like 3 seconds once the bit of them flying everywhere is over.

Another example: the 03 turtles start getting shot at and casually/easily dodge the shots, to the utter amazement of the Rise turtles. Getting volleys of bullets and/or laser fire sent their direction is not a part of their genre, and so dodging gunfire is not something any of them have in their skill set.

2003/Rise crossover au where post rise!movie tmnt gets kidnapped by 2003! Bishop to trade with Shredder for the alien gear he has collected. Bishop takes samples of their DNA for experiments then let's them be taken by the Foot. Brainwashed with mindcontrol, only one of them escapes(either Mikey or Raph for more angst)

End up finding the 03 boys who decide to take them in and rescue the others from the Shredder, and a displeased bishop.
