Could you please dive into the RAMCOA controversy that's been going around? I've literally never heard someone say "RAMCOA is antisemitic" until like a week ago and now there's multiple blogs (I'm sure you can guess who at this point) who are saying this and calling RAMCOA a conspiracy theory from the satanic panic.

It's being said by the same 3 blogs that all reblog the same bad takes so I wasn't putting any stock in their word. Just the latest misinfo spreading unchecked, would appreciate your thoughts on this.

You know what, I'm not going to lie, I've been dreading getting this question.

We are currently debating making a post and how to approach it.

I will make our stances clear right now.

I think the conversation as it is now is full of misinformation and confusion. I think no single post can cover that amount of history and the theories and controversy.

I don't think anyone understands what they're arguing about, or the histories they're trying to bring up, and how they overlap. I think many members of the conversation lack access to resources and education that the mods of this blog DO have access to. Most of the links being thrown around lead back to the same single sources.

To shorten a very long, complex, and honestly unfinished conversation: the satanic panic and RAMCOA are two completely different entities. The satanic panic was a religious political movement of the 90s pushed by conservatives as a way to scare people back into church and scare women back into their "place" at home by attacking child care facilities. It called on a lot of tropes. And many of them were, yeah, ridiculously antisemitic. As the movement got more and more sensationalized, it began to call attention to therapists (some of them bad faith) and to RAMCOA survivors as a "Look! It's real!" kind of thing. If anything, this attention hurt far more than it helped. It painted an inaccurate and insulting picture that's still utilized to harm people today.

To be very clear: programmed DID is a well documented occurrence and it can occur in several ways.

We support survivors, no matter what they call it. We support clinicians trained in treating people who have gone through that extreme level of horrific abuse. We support people learning to separate fact from fiction, in whatever way that may apply to any given situation.

what character did I begin to hate because of how fandom treats them even if I like them in canon? ooooh you really did choose violence today. Okay.

I don't know if I actively hate any VC character per se because honestly my biggest issue with VC is usually tagging when someone has tagged something very clearly IWTV-verse when I personally do not fuck with with those interpretations. I've gone through hating Daniel because I'm particular about how I see him and how he's written. For me, he clearly came from a background with some money - not stupid amounts but enough he'd travelled around - or that the guy is a bougie guy like did you see where he chose to stay running from Armand. Daniel is the New Money of vampires to me and I can't see him any other way.

In contrast to VC, ummm you know I have a few of these for ff7. Would it be surprising if I said Cloud? Because I cannot stand the uwu Cloud. Cloud is so 'small' because the amount of salt is keeping him dehydrated and shrivelled from it. Reducing him down to completely submissive just doesn't work for me at all. He's too mouthy for that. Praise kink? Absotively. Even at Northern Crater, what he seeks is validation, belonging, an understanding of himself. Bending over with big eyes and not an ounce of fight in him? Where's the fun in that? I've gotten better about it, even written more of him myself, but the mewling kitten that needs someone to rescue him because he's so sad and pathetic just does not satisfy me.

an "everyone loops but its at the same time au" but sif's wish lets everyone remember and they figure out it was a wish in loop one so sif teaches them how to wish properly and they each make a unique wish and now they go through the loops because bon still accientally pushes sif into the tear and sif doesnt find the key so mira volunteers to test if tears work on her and now theyre in dormont AGAIN and isa and odile are agitated at needless risks because what if there's a limit?!? and bonnie may or may not be crying because yeah mira's fine now but it was still scary!!! so dinner that night's not very fun but they still trek up to floor 2 and dont miss the key this time siffrin and when they get the key and get to the crossroads, siffrin chooses wrong to try to make it up to odile and bonnie runs into a tear except they're looping before they even make it because siffrin panicked that bad. so now tension's rising a little higher, theyre back in dormont AGAIN and all the gear they picked up is gone too because it's siffrin's!! goddamn!!! timeloop!!!! BUT at least they can try to beat the king and by some unlucky miracle, they pick the wrong path every!! single!!! try!!! no matter if bonnie or odile or mira or isa chose because of course the last path is the correct one and then!!! they die to the damn king!!!!!! all that progress!!! back to square one!!!!! they're grumpy and tired and this wish made it all happen!!!!!! so maybe a wish can undo it!!!

except the universe doesnt listen to the words of your wish, it listens to your heart. and like it or not, your wish will come true. somehow it will.
