Mael Sheet 💙🪽
My HC version of Mael 💚
Tumblr media
(the outfit is just optional, I wanted to try something out)
Mael isn't as ripped as he was as Estarossa. He has a little belly curve and I will fight over this >:( Mael will always have this soft tummy to me 🫠 Also, may I present to you, his "ugly face"
Tumblr media
with that I basically mean that Mael is just kind of 'acting' that polite happy archangel. Cuz god damn is he pathetic deep down. I feel like there are some hints for it in the manga but i like to exaggerate it.. so here we go- He is a damn introvert and he hates being among people. Well tho, his brothers? Okay. Elizabeth? Ehh by now bc bebi tries to let go. Everyone else? Hell nah. If he can, he WILL prefer to be alone. But then he feels lonely and he complains about it... 🤷
Mael doesn't know what he wants so he is just a big angry puppy. (Also my YouTube gave me Chiwawa while I drew that face.. even my cutecore playlist called his ass out)
My last and favorite HC: Maels wings ✨
Tumblr media
his wings are overly sensitive and he comunicates mostly through them. He brings body language to a hole different level. They're like a tail for him. Mael happy? Wagging wings. Mael angy? angy wagging wings. Scraed? trembling wings that he pulls in. You get the deal..
Again, he is basically just a puppy but instead of a tail he has 4 big wings that are way to sensitive for his own liking. Also bc of that he literally can't stay out in the rain. He can feel every little raindrop on there. And it's hell. And there is only the 2 extremes. Something either fucking hurts on his wing or it tickles like crazy - he HATES it.
but what ya gonna do- pull em out 🤷
anyways have some additional saru-mael sheet 👏 cuz 👏I 👏 can!

More spoilers for Chapter 117
By the way, I just want to mention the translation differences in The official one and the fan translations. Specifically the scene where Kafka meets Hoshina's ancestor for the first time.
Tumblr media
( ⬆️ this is the one I read first)
Tumblr media
(⬆️ this is the official translation I think)
I read the fan translations first and BY GOD, that was where I was getting most of my angst from because "You're gonna to make the Saru Squad Captain weep" feels a lot less heart breaking and more rival razzing than "You're not fit for the Monkey Clan."
I also take it a lot more seriously because the clan is called Saru and not Monkey. Idk, I just can't take a clan named Monkey seriously (I am well aware that most species of monkeys could rip me to shreds, or if I manage to survive the encounter, give me a horrible disease that would finish me off eventually.)
And calling it a SQUAD helped me understand it better than clan because I thought it was whole different families fighting and Hoshina was commanding it ALL (I mean, it is mostly whole families, but what defines a clan from a squad is very different) If its just squads, then that means they're all Hoshinas (or employed by Hoshina) and Soshiro's ancestor is commanding portions of one family.
Either way, I found this out too late and I'm going to have to go back and revise several sentences in an upcoming short story.
F*ck.

Hello, Ridia-san! Can I request a Siren Saru?
Saru is open about him being a siren, but most people don't know since they thought those behaviors of his were just part of his personality. Like taking a long ass bath like he owns the shower, avoiding cats (he is half fishy so- (poor neko), not bathing with other people, etc.
Suddenly a mission with other clans happens, and they need to infiltrate a building in the middle of the ocean. Unfortunately, the said ocean is dangerous and cannot be taken lightly, so they need another way to get it there without gaining the attention of other people. While discussing what they should do (more like fighting *ehem* Homra and Scepter 4), Saru grew impatient and decided to jump in the waters. Seeing this threw others into panic mode, but after a while, a head emerged from the water. It's Saruhiko. With his long hair and below his waist is this large, beautiful white to blue ombre tail that seems to glow under the sun. Seeing this seems to strike the others into silence and... (I'll leave the rest to you, Ridia-san! Hoping to see the reactions of the other clans + alphabet squad ^^)
I feel like Yata and Munakata would probably be the main two who know about this, because Yata lived with Fushimi for a while and Munakata is just creepy that way. Like imagine in this AU that mythical creatures are known to exist but it’s like a low key thing where they try to blend in with humans. Say Kisa was actually a siren, Niki caught her out of the water and convinced her to come live with him on land. After she gives birth to Fushimi (wait, would he have been hatched from an egg in this AU) she promptly returns to the ocean to get away from her shitty husband and Fushimi is left alone with Niki, who enjoys joking about making tasty fried fish out of his son. Fushimi doesn’t really try to hide that he’s a siren but he doesn’t talk about it either, he forges a note to get himself out of swimming in gym class and doesn’t talk to anyone about his true heritage because he doesn’t want to deal with being looked at like some kind of freak.
Yata of course is the first one to really find out, like maybe this is the first time too that Fushimi’s been hesitant about letting anyone know his secret because he doesn’t want Misaki to reject him. Yata drags him to the beach one day though and maybe Yata ends up getting caught in like a rip tide or something and Fushimi dives in to save him, revealing his true form with beautiful glittering scales and a long elegant tail. Yata is amazed and immediately starts talking about how awesome this is, Saruhiko is even cooler than he thought, and suddenly being a siren doesn’t seem like such a bad thing. When they join Homra though imagine Fushimi feeling irritated at the idea of everyone knowing, like Totsuka suggests a beach trip and Yata’s ready to mention how cool Fushimi is in the water and Fushimi just shushes him and spends the whole time under an umbrella on the beach instead (Anna keeps giving him significant looks though, and when someone tries to hit him with a water gun she moves in front of him to intercept the splash).
Then he joins S4 and like the first thing Munakata does is wonder if Fushimi would like a private bath due to his ‘heritage,’ Fushimi gives him this suspicious look like I don’t even want to know how you know. He denies the special treatment though, the whole thing is too much of a pain and he doesn’t want to deal with annoying questions. Instead he always takes his baths alone and probably puts like a lock on the bath when he’s in there too, if anyone wants to come take one when he’s in the bath they have to get used to waiting a good hour or so. Some of the lower ranked members complain about it, that the brat from Homra is always hogging the bath, but Fushimi doesn’t care and Munakata just gives a secretive smile when he hears. Also imagine Fushimi being slightly nervous around Kamo and trying his best to hide it, he doesn’t have anything against Kamo it’s just he knows the guy was a sushi chef and Fushimi’s natural instincts make him tense up around that kind of person.
The whole thing remains mostly a secret (I feel like Awashima finds out about it at some point too, and is briefly shocked before admirably recovering and resuming whatever mission they were on) until one day there’s a Strain issue that does require the squad to infiltrate an island in the middle of the ocean. This is post-ROK and Homra is helping out, though maybe Yata and Anna are elsewhere at the time and Kusanagi is in charge on that end. Munakata is pleased that their beach training paid off at last, the rest of the squad are more hesitant because they can all swim but this is a little more than just ‘swimming.’ Kusanagi doesn’t think sending their guys out into the ocean with just life vests is the best idea. He and Munakata are being passive aggressive at each other while Fushimi sits there getting increasingly annoyed (and maybe Munakata keeps looking at Fushimi significantly out of the corner of his eye and it’s getting irritating). Finally he’s like ‘I’ll just take care of it’ and he dives right into the water. The S4 alphabet and Kusanagi are all immediately alarmed, Kusanagi did not expect Fushimi of all people to be this reckless, but Munakata is totally serene about the whole thing as he says there is no problem.
Kusanagi’s all disbelieving ‘no problem?’ when Fushimi surfaces in full siren mode, complaining that Munakata’s going to owe him overtime for this. The alphabet boys are all momentarily on guard but then Akiyama gives a tentative ‘Fushimi…san?’ and Fushimi clicks his tongue to cover that he’s actually a little embarrassed about this whole thing. The S4 boys all think this is really cool though, Doumyouji happily says see Kamo he doesn’t hate you he was just worried you’d fillet him. Fuse mutters that this explains the long baths and Hidaka remembers how Fushimi was the only one who never got into the water when they did their deserted island beach training. The Homra alphabet are probably wondering how they missed this, imagine Kamamoto texting Yata all worriedly that Fushimi turned into a fish and getting back a sheepish ‘oh…you guys didn’t know, huh?.’ Kusanagi especially is a little baffled that he didn’t know this, though now it makes sense why Fushimi never went in the ocean at beach trips and why Yata always acted nervous whenever they went out for sushi. Munakata meanwhile is definitely being unbearably smug about the fact that he knew this all along and Kusanagi didn’t, much to Kusanagi’s irritation, though Awashima at least has the grace to look a little apologetic that they never mentioned this to him.

Listening to the Métis in Space- a podcast were two Indigenous women review depictions of Indigeneity in science fiction- episode on Discovery, for which they picked the episode Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum. Which is the season 1 episode where Michael, Saru, and Ash go down to a planet with a big crystal spire because they want to use it to send a signal, but Saru starts communing with the sentient blue mist on the planet and gets aggressive because the mist people have basically given him anxiety meds so he's trying to force the away team to stay on the planet forever so he can keep that.
And I understand that they have selected it because the Federation is landing on unknown (to them) soil and trying to use its resources before finding that people already live there and then having to deal with that. And despite that describing quite a lot of Trek, I think they just did it because season 1 was all that was out at the time and they wanted to talk about Discovery.
But they don't tend to review the same series twice, so I wish they had waited a while so they could have done the season 4 episode The Examples. Because that one actually has a human Indigenous person in it and is kind of gross and weird about it, so I would love to hear Chelsea and Molly rip into it

I'm starting the last season of Discovery. I don't much care about the season treasure hunt, Saru and T'Rina getting married is the most important thing for me. RIP to plot fans, but I'm different.

Geto Suguru (q&a official fanbook)
Tumblr media
"We will finally put an end to the age of apes and build the paradise of sorcerers."
Age: 27 years old
Birthday: 3 February
Level: special level black sorcerer
Enrolment modalities: scouting
Technique: manipulation of cursed spirits
Skills: extreme Vortex main technique (Maximum: Uzumaki); cursed spirit used: incarnation of Tamamo no Mae; rainbow dragon and others
Hobbies/special skills: martial arts
Favourite food: cold soba (zaru soba)*
Food he dislikes: none
Source of stress: ingestion of cursed spirits
*probable pun on the fact that zaru sounds similar to saru (monkey)
q&a about Geto
Q: How did your character come about?
A: I wanted to draw a guy with an extremist way of thinking.
Q: What is the origin of his name?
A: The ski resort of Geto Kogen.
Q: What did you pay particular attention to when drawing the character of Geto?
A: The tuft in front of him.
Q: Can the technique of manipulating cursed spirits reassemble or unite them?
A: It can, but it doesn't make a lot of sense to do so, because controlling the technique of powerful cursed spirits is more complicated, so it's better to focus on quantity rather than quality, such as in the extreme Vortex technique (Maximum: Uzumaki) which merges several spirits together to make a power attack.
Q: Does Geto know Ijichi?
A: Yes, but when Ijichi enrolled at the school Geto was already in the period when he felt exhausted, so I don't think they ever interacted.
Q: Did he really go to eat crêpes with Mimiko and Nanako in Takeshita-dōri (Takeshita Street)?
A: He only ate a couple of bites that the girls offered him. After dropping out of high school, Geto did everything he could to get food, clothes and shelter without having anything to do with those without powers. However, he did not force the other members of his family to do the same.
Q: Gojo is very popular among women, is Geto too?
A: Geto is even more popular.
Q: Does he know the characteristics of every single curse he has ingested?
A: Yes.
Q: How does he find powerful curses and vengeful spirits to use as pawns?
A: Kind of like on Suiyo Special*.
Q: Is the fact that he calls those without powers "monkeys" due to Toji Fushiguro's statement "Did you lose to a monkey like me who doesn't know how to use sorcery?"
A: Exactly! Only he was unconscious at the time, so let's say he absorbed the words in his sleep.
Q: After Toji's death, what did the cursed spirit say that he can store objects?
A: Probably "mother".
Q: Did his personality change from when he was a student to the time of the Demonic Procession (Night Parade of Hundred Demons)?
A: Quite a bit. Ever since he dropped out of school, he has done nothing but repeat to himself, "I hate the without powers."
Q: During the Shibuya incident, the fake Geto's hand moved on its own. How much of Geto's will remains?
A: Not much. It's like when a dragonfly keeps moving after having its head ripped off.
*Suiyo Spcial: famous television series aired from 1978 to 1988, each time featuring an expedition to little-explored places in search of mysterious creatures.
(little clarification: English is not my native language, so there may be some grammatical errors).

Discovery 5e3 first reactions
If you had told me in the early days of season one with its Expanse knock off aesthetics and edge that Discovery would deliver an exemplar of a truly great Trek story, I'd have been deeply skeptical. Yet here we are.
I'm authentically surprised I'm in this good of a mood after the credits rolling on an episode of Discovery. This was a good episode. It was a very Star trek episode!
After the bleakness of Picard, its really refreshing for a Trek show that is not Lower Decks to be leaning into core themes of mercy, adult relationships that are nuanced rather than histrionic, and really hitting that sweet spot between action adventure, sciency goobledygook, and human idiosyncrasies.
I was really, really happy to get a Culber-centric episode. The character is great, even when its not entirely the character. I really ought to look up the actor and try to see more of his work because he's one of the big standouts for me in this series, along with Doug Jones. It was a good use of the Trill personality exchange plot device.
Saru and T'Rina's subplot was likewise nicely executed. I really like this take on Vulcans where they are subdued but not entirely flat. The crisp "handsome and erudite Saru" was a great touch.
This is at least two instances in the same episode where my meta theory about the Federation, that its superpower isn't that its perfect but that it is full of people who will immediately course correct when they realize a mistake, seems embodied by its characters. This time in the form of Saru and Burnham.
I had a theory about Burnham as well that I think may be on the money as well. That through a mix of intentional planning and reacting to some of the more thoughtful critiques of the character, Burnham's arc has been to first bounce between the extremes of denial of emotion through her Vulcan upbringing, then have to do a crash course in managing emotions after abandoning that Vulcan conditioning. The version we see of Burnham in season 5 is a Burnham who is well balanced. Someone who is informed by intuition and feeling but not ruled by it. A lot like Spock in his later years after he had fully integrated and reconciled his Human and Vulcan natures.
Which is poetic. I think Sarek, while still not winning any father of the year awards, would have been pleased to recognize that his children, well Michael and Spock at least, well able to bridge Earth and Vulcan. Even if they had to strike out on their own and figure out for themselves without his influence.
Booker is interesting too. In a lot of ways I think he's being set up for the arc that Han Solo should have had. Namely growing into responsibility, being nostalgic for aspects of his old life, yet realizing that he's not that person anymore. Which does make me think that ultimately Booker and Burnham will reconcile on account of Booker making peace with his new life and role and it happening to be one that makes a lot more sense in Burnham's world, having decided to lean into Starfleet.
Rayner is definitely a torch carrier for the Jellico tradition but like Jellico, I suspect that he's going to find his own way to relate to the crew. His "speed dating" approach to meeting the crew is painful and stilted, but its a bit like ripping a band-aid off. Tilly isn't wrong that "professional distance" is not a great way to persuade a crew that they can trust your decision making. This is a crew that has gone a long time without a hardass on the bridge and not particularly fond memories of the last time their boss was aloof and prickly. A lot of Rayner's expressions do suggest to me that he knows what he's doing and is playing the long game with Discovery's crew.
I'm really excited to (hopefully) finally see the Tzenkethi. I'm really, really hoping for a Larry Niven tribute. Its been a minute since we've had anthropomorphic felines and someone desperately needs to atone for the film Kilrathi. Wow. I have not thought about Wing Commander in a long time. l feel like I need a shower.

Day twoooooo: one random thing they'd get into a heated discussion for (for me its bad musical adaptations, I will rip some of them to fucking shreds) either for K project (Homra+Saru) or KHR (Vongola+Varia), i'll let you decide
This one was really fun to consider so thank you so much for sending it in! I went with KHR for this one, and hope you’ll enjoy!
Tsuna doesn’t honestly have many things that he gets really, really worked up about, other than the very obvious one that we see brought up a lot throughout the manga and anime. He’s really not okay with anyone hurting innocent people, no matter the reasons. It’s not something he can forgive and while he’ll try to understand the other person’s reasoning, he’s going to try to get through to them that it’s not okay and will try to convince them to stop. And if he can’t…let’s not forget, guys, that Tsuna did canonically kill Byakuran in the Future Arc. It might have been an alternate future, so arguments can be made that it doesn’t count, but I do believe that it does.
Gokudera loves good horror movies…or really, really terrible ones. He watches a lot of them and is really well versed in the different horror movie genres and tropes and he can get really fired up when discussing any horror franchises and whether they’re good or bad or whether a new release was worth the hype or not. He does a lot of research into the movies he hated and the ones he loved, so he can pull out all these really interesting but obscure facts in an attempt to get his point across and ‘win’ the discussion/debate.
Yamamoto is a baseball nut through and through. He can easily get into heated discussions and debates over which teams will make the playoffs, on which players should have been traded to which teams, on which players are having good seasons and what they should improve on, and so on and so forth. He’s really knowledgeable on the subject too, so he’s coming in with facts and figures and proof of his opinions.
Ryohei’s topic? C’mon, everyone knows this one! It’s boxing, bar none, with proper training and exercise techniques coming in a close second.
Lambo has very strong opinions on video games. He really likes playing video games, especially if they’re two-player ones, but he’s also really particular about what makes a good video game. Of course, his heated discussion is usually just him calling the other person stupid, wrong, and a doo-doo head, but hey…he’s five, what do you expect?
Hibari has a very strong sense of rules and order. He won’t get into heated debates or discussions on them though. He’s just going to beat them into the head of whoever defies or disagrees with him.
Mukuro likes fashion. He really does. He might have a very unique fashion sense, but clothing and accessories appeal to him and he can get into very heated debates on the subject of fashion, whether it be whether something is simply a trend or a classic style, or what type or brand of boots is better or whether gold is gaudy or timeless.
Chrome actually really likes birds and does know quite a bit about them. She doesn’t really often speak up, but she can get really adamant about what type of bird it is that someone saw or that’s nearby and it can test her patience a little bit if people who don’t know what they’re talking about want to argue with her about it. She normally won’t argue, just because that’s not what Chrome does, but it will really perturb her.
Okay, but nobody is getting into heated arguments with Xanxus. Seriously, anyone who would attempt to do so is taking their lives in their hands and most of them really just succeed in pissing him off and ending up dead or seriously injured. He really does take people trying to start even friendly debates with him as them trying to provoke him or fight with him.
Have you met Squalo? He has strong opinions on everything, and he can make everything into an argument. There is no one thing that makes him get into a heated discussion. There is everything and the heated discussions usually become out and out fights.
Belphegor does think the knives he uses, specially made for him, are, of course, superior to all others, but he does know his other knives. He knows the makes and models, the better points of each brand and type, and does have very strong opinions on which knives are worth it and which ones are made just to look pretty. He can get very, very testy about that topic.
Lussuria has surprisingly strong opinions on boy bands. He knows boy bands from many different cultures, he has his favourites, and he will have no problem telling you why your favourite is trash if it does not mesh with his favourites. For example, in Lussuria’s opinion, BTS is the best K-pop boy band out there currently, and EXO is the worst, and he will have long lectures of why this is true.
Levi really, really does not take kindly to anyone doubting or bad-mouthing his boss. Xanxus is the subject he will most fiercely defend. It doesn’t matter if it’s someone from the Varia or someone from another family or such, but the person who dares to say something anything less than glowing about Xanxus is catching a verbal beat-down and long lectures on Xanxus’ glory from Levi, if he doesn’t just resort to violence.

Great Star Trek Rewatch - Discovery S1
Originally posted on Twitter 8 July 2020 - 21 July 2020
Star Trek: Discovery is up next in my Great Star Trek Rewatch. As with Star Trek: Enterprise, mini-reviews will document my progress.
The Vulcan Hello: Strong introductions to Burnham, Saru, Georgiou. Breathtaking spacewalk. The new aesthetic takes some getting used to, but it’s window dressing. T’Kuvma helps explain why TOS Klingons are different from TNG Klingons. Burnham’s mutiny is unprecedented. 6/10
Battle at the Binary Stars: Georgiou’s demise was a surprise, but T’Kuvma’s death was the big shock given the marketing campaign. A life sentence for mutiny is excessive, though not surprising given the scale of consequences from Burnham’s mutiny. 7/10
Context is for Kings: The true pilot of DSC, this episode gets Burnham onto Discovery and introduces the rest of the crew. The mycelial network is inventive. The horrors aboard the Glenn are Trek body horror at its most grisly. Lorca is immediately intriguing. 8/10
The Butcher’s Knife Cares Not for the Lamb’s Cry: RIP(per) Landry. Shades of “The Devil in the Dark” as Burnham comes to understand the tardigrade. Klingon machinations begin as Voq and L’Rell are betrayed by Kol. Culber immediately joins the pantheon of great Trek doctors. 7/10
Choose Your Pain: Lorca is captured by L’Rell and meets Harry Mudd and Ash Tyler. This Mudd is as devious as his TOS incarnation, but still garners sympathy when Lorca leaves him with the Klingons. Stamets becomes one with his shrooms as Ripper leaps away. 7/10
Lethe: A question that has lingered for fifty years is finally answered: what drove Sarek and Spock apart? Incredible connections to TOS without feeling like a blatant retcon. Lorca is a “broken man” indeed. Burnham and Tyler’s mess hall scene is classic Star Trek. 10/10
Magic to Make the Sanest Man Go Mad: A classic Star Trek trope gets a uniquely Discovery twist. Mudd may get off easy for all his villainy, but it's a very TOS ending. Loved seeing the crew let their hair down and party. 10/10
Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum: Saru finally gets a moment of peace on Pahvo. Doug Jones’ finest work is in his confrontation with Burnham. A classic Star Trek tale with Discovery’s trappings. Shoutout to Jayne Brook and Mary Chieffo’s scenes - what a fantastic pairing! 9/10
Into the Forest I Go: RIP Kol and the gorgeous Sarcophagus ship. The jump sequence is a nail-biter, as is Burnham’s fight with Kol. Tyler has some severe PTSD from L’Rell’s torture, but is able to pull it together thanks to Cornwell. But where in Hell is Discovery? 8/10
Despite Yourself: Mary Wiseman steals the show, impersonating “Capt. Killy.” Tyler’s PTSD/brainwashing comes to a head as he shockingly murders Culber. What is L’Rell’s hold on him? Hard to see Stamets so debilitated as well. 7/10
The Wolf Inside: Tyler is becoming unraveled as Burnham tries to get a handle on the Terran universe. Having Georgiou be the Emperor is brilliant. 7/10
Vaulting Ambition: Kelpien sushi is disgusting. So is the sickness engulfing the mycelial network. And the torture L’Rell inflicted on Tyler. Lots of pieces move into place here as Lorca’s true nature is revealed. This reveal still doesn’t quite stick the landing for me. 7/10
What’s Past is Prologue: the extended MU jaunt ends with a stunning set piece: Discovery riding a mycelial shockwave as Stamets guides them home, with vital assistance from Culber. Sad to see Lorca go, but we get Georgiou again. 9/10
The War Without, The War Within: Discovery’s been gone 9 months and the war is in the Klingons’ favor. But is genocide the right answer? Great visual effects with the prototaxites regrowth, but this is a filler episode through and through. 6/10
Will You Take My Hand?: Most of Season 1's threads get wrapped up here: L'Rell becomes chancellor, Georgiou acclimates to "our" universe, and Burnham and Tyler part ways. Burnham's speech and Saru's stand (We Are Starfleet) are the highlights of this episode. As is the tag. 9/10
And with that, Season 1 of DSC comes to an end in my Great Star Trek Rewatch. Final score: 7.80/10. Highest score(s): "Lethe," "Magic to Make the Sanest Man Go Mad." Lowest score(s): "The Vulcan Hello," "The War Without, The War Within".

dug out my blu rays of Disco season 4 and the audio is so much better than the version I usually get from streaming. (my home internet's a bit rubbish, so the audio is always jumk). Also there's more depth to the picture, I think? the colors are brighter?
I should try blu ray rips from my laptop and see how those are.
I'm watching my happy place episode, which is Galactic Barrier.
stray thoughts under the cut.
Saru and Laira's makeup just looks...real. (I do love Saru and T'Rina's pride and predjudice style dating, it's adorable and gentle).
I love Hugh, he's so kind and gorgeous.
Osyraa and the Emerald Chain really were awful.
Michael's leaving space dock speech gets me EVERY time.
Michael and Paul really do technobabble well. I know the barrier itslef doesn't exist, but I like the color show, it's fun and scary and they had a good time with filters filming this episode.
IT IS brighter on blu ray. The reds are better, and the distance between the close to the camera shot and the further person in the over the shoulder shots is different somehow.
There's such warmth in the colors of s4. Especially compared to s1. s4 is so gold (and the fire helps).
The amount my heart jumps during one of Michael's microexpressions is ridiculous. (but happy, it is my happy place).
I shipped Michael and Laira a bit before this episode, but this one...damn. They argue, they're vulnerable together, they look after each other, they solve problems together...
I could just live in that.
(also they're very very pretty).
I think I should get up to change the discs more often. The blu ray copy is WAY better than the streaming copies I usually get.
I wrote fic often while watching this ep, and I'm trying to remind myself what writing fic felt like so I can do it. Think it might help.

Due to a current boycott of Paramount and Paramount+ I'm watching this from a pirate cove and I'd encourage you to do the same and without further ado live blogging of Star Trek Discovery and as always 🌟SPOILERS🌟
Season 5 Episode 1
God I love the Crossfield Class my favorite pancake
I like the starting with the 4 hours earlier thing
Riding onto of a ship at warp with 32nd century tech anything is possible
New dress uniforms? Burnham is still wearing the one from last season
Unpopular opinion but I liked the gray 32nd century uniforms better especially because the new more colorful ones have leggings instead of pants which makes them look like medieval peasants
So this is the romulan science vessel I've read and heard about different theories from Iconians to the ancient humanoids I'm excited to see what it is
Ah yes the duo from the trailers I thought they'd be more treasure hunter like but they seem more like scavengers
The 800 hundred year old dead romulan looked creepy n' spooky
The scene of Burnham going through the view screen was cool
Book is back
Oh the new captain isn't human I thought Tiburon but no actually Kellerun from DS9
Crash them cadets into another ice moon!
The Crossfield Class is probably my favorite design wise hero ship
Fred is a android? Oh I um huh
Fred is like the opposite vibe of Data
Self sealing stem bolts?!
Ok I really liked the fast reading thing cool affect
L'ak got all "don't touch her she mine!!!" Type behavior insert werewolf ripping off t-shirt meme here
Well there goes Fred definitely no android reaction speed
Spinning camera again my least favorite shot
Did the ships turn into Shovels to stop a avalanche??
Both ships with their faces in the ground as the smuggler ship flys away didn't even try to shoot or tractor beam
I was hoping that Burnham and Booker would have a Sisko and Kasidy type of thing once you get out of prison or in this case community service we're back on but not everyone can be Sisko that's to high a standard for anyone
Marriage?! Saru and T'Rina you sly dogs
YEAH ancient humanoids the background Romulan personally I love when random unnamed background characters become more important later
Well the rest of the season pre view looks fun
It was fine Discovery has definitely had better season opener episodes but I definitely like the premise of this season

I understand that the format of the joke when we’re talking about something a fictional character in the past would love that we have in the present is “Rip Beowulf, you would’ve loved Mitski” or whatever, but for characters who are implied to be far in the future idk maybe it should be “Long live Saru, I know you love caution tape” idk, just a thought.

hiiiii i made an elevator hitch au 4 charisma house bc combining my interests is fun 💥💥 i thought long n hard abt the deaths n also came up w some puzzles [like things u do n items u get 2 help u 4 other floors] 4 most of the floors, but not all the floors hav puzzle ideas/items. rip.
Tumblr media
protag: torahime / coworker: nakagami / normal guy: fumiya
Floor 1: living room. u start here. u can't go back. inaccessible after u become stuck.
Floor 2: sarus room. There's a paper w directions on it "by rikai" tht u must take 2 rikais room. end "NO"- if u do as the paper says, ur immediately blown up or smth.
Floor 3: terras room. end "MIRROR MIRROR"- if u spend 2 long looking at terras mirrors, they become hostile bc ur not terra n [if near small mirrors] slice ur neck w mirror shards [if near full-body mirror or vanity] slices u in half.
Floor 4: ioris room. during ur time here, if u make noise, ioris voice will call out asking who's there n if there's anything he can do 4 u. this room acts much like the childhood room. end "SERVICE"- ioris silhouette appears in the doorframe n u hear his creepy laughter b4 the game over. if near the wall w the collars: end "OBEDIENCE"- 1 of the leashes/chains, attached 2 smth outside the other door, wraps around ur lower arm n drags u on2 the bed b4 the door shuts. the chain is revealed 2 have been attached 2 iori, as his shadow looms over u, on the bed, out of frame/behind camera. congrats! u hav a dog! Stay Forever.
Floor 5: rikais room. w the paper brought from sarus room, complete it as is written in order 2 get a headpat from smth invisible n an item. end "ORDER"- if u move things out of place or knock anything over, a shrill whistle blows so loudly tht ur eardrums burst beyond repair n ur ears gush blood, making u black out. end “INCORRECT”- if u complete the paper’s instructions wrong, the paper rips in 2 n slices u in half as well [mirroring the “REJECTED” ending from the og game]
Floor 6: amahikos room. end "ECSTACY"- if u look 2 closely at amahikos r18 closet, it pulls u in w the bondage ropes n shuts the door as it ties u up. b4 the game over, u feel Smth in the dark molesting u.
Floor 7: ohses room. needs 2 b lit up 1st via the lighter from floor 8. notably the hardest floor, w 3 endings, due 2 ohse’s guarded nature n his cluttered room. get the lizard from here 2 scare terras mirrors n make them crack out of fear, thus giving u [item]. end "'SUICIDE'"- if u poke around them or spend 2 long in the room, the/a noose drops down n hooks around ur throat, yanking u up 2 the ceiling n suffocating u via hanging. end “SLIT”- if u take the lizard without feeding it 1st, ur throat gets slit [akin 2 how ohse threatens 2 slit open his neck in canon] n ur blood sprays out on2 some nearby canvases like paint. end “TRASH”- if u step in2 the room w/o lighting it up 1st, ohse’s control over the room isnt weakened yet [by the light/a known visitor] n ur crumpled like a wadded piece of trash, ur bones cracking n ur body breaking.
Floor 8: attic or the prev unused room tht Became tora's room. doppelgangers of a snapped tora visibly annoyed w his sensei n a depressed naka rambling abt not being able 2 see charisma n being trapped there. obtain lighter from the other tora 2 light up ohses room. end "STRANGER DANGER"- exactly as it is in the og game.
Floor 9: fumiya’s room, but the walls r the endless sky of the og floor 9. he interviews tora abt being a charismatic as thts an option 4 tora, bc naka doesn't care abt him. end "CHARISMA"- plays out like the og game. ur Trapped now. end "IMMORAL"- ur not fit! fumiya kills u w his break 4 the audacity of fucking around in his house n finding out.
Misc endings: end "OVERHEARD"- if u bicker w nakagami or he starts raving abt charisma, the house hears naka n gores u both. end "HELP"- trying 2 call 4 help calls upon the charisma of Asia, who promises 2 help but soon snaps ur necks or smth 4 disturbing the charismatics. [this is a mirror of the "HELP" ending in-game. i only chose him bc i needed some1 2 b manuel] end "NO SMOKING"- there's no "no smoking" sign like in the original game, but if u hav the lighter n fight off naka when he asks if he can hav a smoke instead of firmly deny him, the end w the same name from the og game commences n u both burn alive from the lighter and/or lit cig dropping
