Mayaps NEXT New Year switch medical binder/bujo padfolio to a filofax (or knockoff) system bc shells seem more durable (filofax users tell me if I'm wrong, I want a zippered one) than the twenty-dollar padfolios I'm buying every few months bc they keep disintegration, AND gridded refill paper is somehow more accessible in an A5 6-ring format than gridded paper in a standard 8.5 by 11 format that I usually have to hole punch myself? Also it's easier to stuff in my emergency backpack when I go to the hospital, last time a doctor stopped me as I was leaving because they thought it was about to fall out bc I couldn't zip my backpack up around it, and it was an awkward three minutes as they futily tried to help me

Omg its been forever since I posted here. I got so busy with school that i didn't get to do enjoyable journal entries that I'd like to show here huhuhuhu. Barbie (the movie) was amazing 🥺. It made me cry 2 times (I tried to not cry real hard cause I had make up on). It was an experience and while my friends and I didnt get to pic with the pink box we had our own mini photoshoot :)). It was a fun day~<3!

Do you think out of all the people, sauron lived a happy life in silmarillon? He almost achieved his goals and was happy doing whatever he wanted. He also didn't have emotional baggage like feanor or morgoth to be sad about

You know, honestly, I think it's hard to say. We're given so little of what he's up to, but when we are, he really does seem to be living his best life. Though there are also the defeats and major embarrasments... 😅

Then of course, you have the fact that everyone else is just having the worst time, almost all the time, which means the bar is pretty much on the floor for 'is this one guy happy comparitively?'

We're not really given his reactions to things, so we don't know if the loss of any of his fellow followers of Morgoth was upsetting to him, if the loss (twice) of Morgoth himself was upsetting to him (that essay in Morgoth's Ring that uses the word 'bereft' makes me think yes, but that's not the Silm), he just turns up and causes problems on purpose. We don't know what his emotional reaction is to really anything much beyond 'he is having fun being an asshole at this moment in time'. We can't say yes or no to him having emotional baggage like the other characters because we just don't have that level of detail on him and it's not really relevent to his appearances in the Silm. Maybe inbewteen appearances he's overdesigning next month's bujo spread with an 'elves-as-bunting' theme or maybe he's crying himself to sleep. Who knows?!

All in all though, I would say there's a good argument for him having one of the better times in the Silmarillion, but mainly due to lack of evidence to the contrary and the fact that you really only need to have a mediocre life to be happy by Silm standards. (I suppose, also the Second Age is where we start to get the more targeted hatred and grudges, which does look more like baggage, but that's his role changing from enforcer to The Big Bad. He gets to be more and we get a bit more of a sence of him)

arda: if you could travel anywhere in middle earth, where would you go? Rivendell, The Shire and Gondolin (before it fell). I think Rivendell the most for you know, so many reasons but Gondolin because secret city + fountains + water + trees = DELIGHTFUL.

🦅 the eagles: What thing or thought saves the day when it's not going so well? So I actually made a not that fancy quote on a whiteboard I have propped in my bedroom that basically says ‘your brain is lying to you, your friends love and treasure you’ so I try to use that. I also tend to do a grounding and lately my therapist has me use anchoring - basically a ‘brain is [feeling] because [reason (sometimes it’s just because BRAIN AAAGH CPTSD)] but I am here in [safe place] (and some other things that actually involve both flowers and using a framework from fiction books I love). The other things are: swim, making tea, drawing, comfort book, calming YouTube video (I watch a lot of bujo/cozy reading content/cooking history show(s)), going to a cafe to read. Sometimes just going to sleep.

🦗 weta: you're allowed to take one prop (or the canon useful version) home with you from the set, what are you taking? The Evenstar necklace. Always. (If we are talking Rings of Power then honestly one of the dresses)

Definitely getting that "this notebook/system will fix me" feeling from this notebook

There is even an etsy seller who sells paper to fit it with a slightly over 4mm dotgrid, which is ideal for me.

I've spent so long looking at binders and getting excited about the versatility (bujo + book notes + other notes all in one place! but moveable/removable!) but the bulkiness/space inefficiency and the rings getting in the way while writing are dealbreakers for me. I'm hoping the discbound notebook will give me the best of binders with the best of notebooks! Gonna order it and see how it goes.

Reading Goals For 2024

Hi,

I'm back with my reading goals for the year.

This is a loose list, and I don't really mind if it is not completed by the end of 2024, but it helps guide me in my readings.

1. Read 40 or more books;

2. Read 12 classics;

3. Read 50 pages every day;

4. Listen to at least six non-fiction audiobooks;

5. Finish at least two series;

6. Post on tumblr consistently

7. Read all the Book Club's picks.

More Info:

- The book clubs I follow are "The Game Of Tomes" by Emmie and Carolyn; they're some of my favorite book tubers, and I've been following them for a while now; and "The Bujo Buddies Book Club" by Jess and some of her friends. I found them on Discord this year, and I wanted more "surprise" reads, so instead of making an actual list for the whole year, I decided to just follow some book clubs.

- I've been partaking in a challenge for some years now of reading 30 classics before my 30s. I have just a few years left, so I decided to pick up the passing and set a goal of one classic a month. Good thing that GOT usually favors classics, so I will be reading at least six this year.

- Reading 50 pages a day is a challenge, but I'm reading 3 books at the same time, so it's kind of easy. The difficult part is doing it every day; sometimes I don't have the time. But it is part of the challenge, right?

- I don't like reading non-fiction, but I do find some of them interesting, so I'm just going to listen to them. Listening while I follow up with the reading is easier for me, so I hope it helps. I haven't done it this month yet, tho.

- I have so many series incomplete that it's kind of shameful, so I decided that for this year I want to finish some. I've been trying to finish my reread of Narnia for almost a decade now; the same with the Lord of the Rings, so this is the year to do this. Also, some YA fantasy ones, and since I'm in a forever NK Jemisin saga, I want to read all of her books. These are the main ones for the year.

- I chose 40 books because the idea is to read 4 books per month. 3 actual reads and one audiobook. So, this is an "easy" goal to fulfill.

Anyway, these are my goals, and I hope that now that I put them up, I can be held accountable for them. Even though I don't really mind not achieving all of them, it'll be nice to at least finish some of them.

Hi! Tysssm ∩^ω^∩ I have two journals; one of them is my actual bujo and the other one is my personal journal (that’s the one I post here a lot), the bujo is hand made, I made it myself and I have a tutorial on my yt ^^ if you want to check it out. And the personal journal is a transparent 6ring A6 binder I bought at Walmart but the paper sheets and additions are from Amazon! I think you can also buy the ring binder on Amazon tho. Hope this helps ^^ if you have any more questions feel free to ask (*･ω･)ﾉ

I was gonna make a post about my ever-vexing search for a professional-looking padfolio to keep my medical binder/bullet journal in and my only options being twenty-dollar cheap things that look serious now but will look less serious in six months when the stitching starts unraveling, the pockets have to be held together with duct tape, the faux leather starts flaking off, and that's assuming the actual binder ring part are big enough to hold more than twenty sheets of paper, OR a sixty to one hundred dollar VERY professional-looking and so durable-looking* that I won't have to replace every year leather padfolio that's spacious enough for all the records and paperwork and accessories I need to carry...

... but then I realized I'm literally just rewriting Vimes Theory Of Boots

*also at this point in the history of hellish capitalism, the one hundred dollar durable-looking padfolio will also most likely fall apart within the year anyway, another phenomenon that has already been named and described more succinctly than I could ever put it: enshittification

This spread is probably like from a year or 2 years ago 😭??? Your girl was so busy that she didnt even get to post spreads she wanted to post back then 👽. So yeah, kazuha spread 👍👍. This man had me on a tight hold on his release, literally grinded for him after i lost 50/50 to keqing for the second time. He hasn't left my main team to this day with how convenient he is to use. I also got the sticker and photocard this last s.y. because my school held like an art fair where artists in school share and sell their work and I cannot stress how he was in demand. I had to preorder the sticker cause they ran out fast and bolted to the art fair on one of my breaks cause i was real scared to get run out of the photocards. Suffice to say i ran out of money for that week because of the pretty art prints they sold. Anyways, yes he is great 👍 - Nelly 🌾
