the blue exorcist fandom on tiktok is actually so insufferable oh my god, i've been getting quite a few edits on my fyp that have gotten hundreds of thousands of likes which is awesome! i love seeing aoex content getting more recognition! but then i open the comments and its literally just people either talking about how much they hate yukio, or how they "cant watch the new seasons cause the new animation style is too bad" like holy shit do you guys do anything other than complain??? maybe instead of complaining about the series and shitting on yukio constantly in the comments of people's edits, maybe, idk, just enjoy and compliment the edit??

i get not everyone is as insane about the series as i am and most people are just casual watchers, but god forbid you have at least some media literacy. and GOD FORBID the animation changes after a whole new studio takes over, and modern anime animation has changed from 2011 in general.

i wonder if other anime fandoms on tiktok are the same way?? or is this just an aoex thing 😭

I may have ventured into the first circle and Virgil Is NOT Here -- Lehmann Primality Test in R

So a post about Lehmann Primality Tests in HackerNews came across my twitter this morning. Seemed like a great quick coding exercise during lunch. Little Did I know...It is wonderfully simple primality test but i think i have hit up against some R quirks. Here is my code for the test (thanks to David Kenal at the aforementioned link of the implementation in Scheme, this is very much his logic):

the basic logic is to take n

1. get a random number a = between 1 and n-1

2. calculate x =(a^(n-1)/2) %% n

3. if x == 0 or x == (-1 %% n) then the number could be prime

The more you repeat these three steps the more certain you are. So you call it recursively. So the function takes to arguments the number is question and the number of iterations(higher the more certain). This implementation seemed to work.

However... I started testing larger primes and things go terribly wrong. you get incorrect an answers and an ominous sounding message:

Warning message: probable complete loss of accuracy in modulus

I believe the issue comes down to floating point conversions. AKA the first circle of the R inferno. (which is a great read and for a dante fan and a nerd a wonderful collisions of worlds)

say for n<-97

> (y^((n-1)/2)) [1] 2.730792e+64

That is a big Number thanking the mod of it doesn't go so well. above a certain point the mod function breaks down because of floating point rounding. I don't know if there is an easy solution but i wanted to share my experiences as and if you are "Midway on our life's journey, I found myself in dark woods, the right road lost" always look to R inferno for help.

Here is a loop to test:

ok so this is very different from my normal posts as i don't post cosplay photos anywhere else but my instagram, but i worked too hard on this and i figured the cscoop fans would enjoy as well...

after a lot of trial and error, and staying up way too late on the day before the con working on this, i was able to finish my c!cscoop cosplay!

it's absolutely not perfect but i'm incredibly proud of it, and i got quite a few compliments (a couple people even recognised me surprisingly!)

here's also a couple bonus bathroom selfie photos from the night before where i'm super tired and high off my gourd, but you can actually see my shirt in full 😭 (i'm also very proud of it, i drew up the design surprisingly quick)

this was such a fun cosplay to do and i can't wait to break it out again for the next con 🙏🙏

I was on a roll with my nightly sketches, so here are all the drawings I did this past week at work!

I drew that first one 'cause I was very upset and needed to distract myself with something (you can probably tell from how rough it is compared to the other two), after that the sketches kind of turned into a nightly thing for the rest of the week... we'll see if i can continue the streak next week
