So first off I love your page and seeing all the content on 'Love For Love's Sake' / 'Love Supremacy Zone', becuz your analysis and summaries are always informative and AMAZING.

it's my current hyperfixation and I'm obsessed.

And since you are more knowledgeable and read ALL of the Novel, there is something I'd like to ask that has been confusing me -

I want to read the webnovel but everywhere I see, it says there are a different number of chapters - it says this -

Status in COO:

118 Chapters (Completed) 7 Side Story Chapters (Completed) 5 Side Story Extra Chapters (Completed) 6 Side Story Special Chapters (Completed) 22 Side Story Bonus Chapters (Completed)

What I know:

118 Chapters (main story) 6 chapters (side story with their anniversary/ proposal) 22 chapters (19 Myungha time-travelling to 29)

But what are the last two?

5 Chapters 7 Chapters

Also why is a 'special' story 18+ on Ridibooks?

And if you could tell please, where did you read the whole story? Was it in English or did you read in Korean/use a translator?

I've been stressing over this for like months and cant get an answer anywhere

I gotta admit, I didn't read the novel and webtoon... I mean, I started it but I haven't finished yet. I've read the fan-translated version of a novel (which is like 1/3 of korean novel?) and I have access to Ridibooks where I decided to start with reading Spinoff story (since I sort of know that's completely new and kdrama closely follow original novel)

I can assume 18+ story might be including chapters with somewhat NC scenes? (I haven't read them yet tbh I'm still wary of buying such things on Korean websites, blame my paranoia) but other than that, the rest seemed like the typical novel (118 chapters) + Special side story (I haven't read it yet) of 6 chapters + bonus stage released in 2024 with 22 chapters . You say 6 chapters about proposal? I gotta read it then! Though the proposal was hinted at in the last spinoff story though...xD

I don't see different separation in Ridibooks. I see 118-6-22 chapters too. Oh, but I see 19+ version with 7 and 5 chapters, maybe that's the one you're talking about? But sorry, I haven't read them yet... I might do it though xD

But I have Kdrama storyboard + scriptbook right now to read! As in actual physical book, so I'm very curious to read and check what differences there are in actual drama (Taevin said they had to give up some scenes because of the weather etc). + I will work on translating spinoff soon while somebody else has been translating the original novel. Not sure about 19+ version one xD

And also they are releasing Bluray and DVD right now with extra commentary and everything... I should not spend more money on LFLS editions... I should not...... please tell me you guys don't need to know all those extra commentaries and behind the scenes....xD

Ultramarine's Ridibooks Guide

A (hopefully) simple guide to how to use Ridibooks!

What is Ridibooks? Ridibooks is a website where you can read all kinds of webtoons, novels, and books in Korean. It also has an app (for mobile and PC)! Ridibooks has the advange compared to other similar platforms such as Kakao and Naver of not being region-locked, so it might be your only option to read some manhwas in Korean.

Is the site safe? Yep! It's one of the major manhwa platforms, and I've used it many times.

How do I use it? Firstly, you have to make an account (top-right corner of your screen, �� icon). I recommend using Chrome or other browsers with a MTL function, so the page is easier for you to navigate.

Buying manhwas and novels. I'll use WMMAP as an example! Search 어느 날 공주가 되어버렸다 (WMMAP in Korean). You'll see you have 4 options. Buying the manhwa per chapter (200 won for rental, 500 won for purchase), buying the manhwa per volume (7,500 won each), buying the novel per volume (2,310 won for rental, 3,300 won for purchase), and buying the novel per chapter (100 won each).

Let's say we want to buy the manhwa per chapter.

Once you click on that option for purchase, you'll see that the site gives you two options, renting a chapter (200 won) or purchasing a chapter (500 won). Choose accordingly to what you want, but be aware that the site checks the rental option by default! So you have to go to the "keep it" tab if you want to buy it.

Also, consider that WMMAP's chapters can be unlocked for free (1 each day, available to read for 3 days), excluding the last 10 chapters.

Ridi Cash. As most manhwa platforms, Ridibooks has its own currency, Ridi Cash (much like Tapas' ink or Tappytoon's points), that you need to buy to then purchase manhwas or novels. It's worth almost the same as won, but with a 3% accumulation rate. Selecting the "Ridi Cash" option in your user profile will allow you to recharge the currency.

There, you can choose how much you want to charge. It's likely that the only payment method available to you is an overseas credit card (any should work), so you'll have to check that box (also remember to check the purchase confirmation!).

After that, you just write your credit card information, and you should be ready to buy your favorite manhwa or novel! They'll be available for you to read in your library (top-right corner of your screen, 📚 icon).

Hi!!!! TWSB is indeed originally a webnovel and has actually just recently completed its main story with 920 chapters!!! It's definitely a really wild and worth it ride, and the author is VERY good with both characters and worldbuilding (there's a lot of detail and depth that the webtoon sadly isnt able to capture haha).

Tread Lightly on Thawing Ice

Amateur Translation

So I really really really love the webcomic Tread Lightly on Thawing Ice. It's beautifully drawn, beautifully written, and even the flow of the panels is beautifully handled. The story is amazing but I haven't seen anything about a continuation and I was so desperate to know what happens after the first season of the comic leaves off that I went through the process of purchasing the novel on ridibooks. There is currently no fan translation online (that I could find) (if you know of one please tell me) so I was using the google translate photo feature to just get a sense of what happened next. Then I had the absurd idea to localize the raw translation by hand.

I started at the beginning, but the events of the prologue and part 1 are covered pretty much beat for beat by the comic, and while it's interesting to see the original context, I'm wondering how valuable it really is to translate those parts. I've finished the prologue and first chapter and have begun work on both the second chapter AND part 2 of the novel, which picks up right after the end of the comic, so I'm curious which one I should be devoting time to.

If you happen to have an opinion, let me know.

That being said, this is a very long book, and I have absolutely no confidence that I'll be able to do the whole thing. The second I catch wind of a professional translation, or, god willing, an English release, I'm dropping this project.

If it's within your means, please go purchase the novel, even if you can't read it. I'm only doing this because I genuinely don't believe that it will affect sales of the book. That being said, let's try to keep this on the down-low, okay? This is for destructively curious people like me and no one else.

A few notes:

I do not speak Korean. I don't speak anything other than English. I'm a writer and I have a lot of localization experience, but I'm working from a janky translation with no native speakers helping me.

I've done my best to keep the text as literal as possible, but there's definitely a fair bit of gap-filling from my own brain. The documents are riddled with footnotes explaining certain choices I made that might compromise the original meaning.

This whole thing is more or less for my own entertainment, so I don't have a schedule or anything, and in fact, my priorities lie with my fic writing, so don't expect consistency.

I'm so sad. Apparently the author is sick of all the illegal translations of her story, so she's decided to end the story at book 2 and...

She's dropping all her side stories!! 😭😭

She had side stories for other characters and another Riftans POV! But that's all gone now and I'm so upset.

I'm gonna be honest though I thought her tone was a little condescending and her actions are not fair to the fans who truly supported her all the way. Once I figured out how to get to Ridibooks, I started paying for it. HOWEVER, do you know how hard it is to read a poorly translated Korean to English story?! It's so confusing sometimes. Hiya! I'm a fan of twsb but I've only read till ch 192 and translations are a bit hard to come by. Is it ok if you could drop the link if where you read it from? I'd really appreciate it.

Hi! TLs are definitely hard to come by, and it doesn't help that TWSB is a 920-chapter behemoth for its main story haha... Unfortunately tho there's no way to properly read up to that point unless you either 1) consult some spoiler summaries, or 2) of course, read the raws. (And the secret 3rd option: wait for an official TL..... but sadly there's been no news of any of that so far, other than the webtoon one on the WEBTOON app which, for an official translation, is shocking unprofessional and inaccurate 🥲)

But anyhow, if you're interested in reading the novel in its fullest however, I have some other asks somewhere detailing a bit more about that, but the basic gist is that I would recommend reading on Ridibooks above all else because it's the easiest platform (at least imo) to purchase chapters on, and to MTL (machine translate on google browser)!
