My headcanon is that all of the Rick Riordan Presents books + Rick’s books take place in the same universe so I would like to imagine Brynne, a girl from Manhattan, has offhandedly mentioned “this boy who blew up the buses in fifth grade and got expelled” to the other Potatoes at least once

Heyo!

I just wanted to ask, what are your thoughts on Celtic mythology? Would you ever write a book using Celtic mythology

I’m not very familiar with it but questions like these are why I started Rick Riordan Presents

I talked a big talk about the Blood of Olympus not having a good ending. I retract that statement. The final 20 pages are perfection. Nico bonding with Hazel and being a good brother. Nico and Jason practically having a love scene. Piper and Reyna having a great, tender moment (one where Piper admits she's pretty much Annabeth and Reyna's go-between for the camps). Piper and Jason having a tender, sweet moment (where they finally have their wilderness school style kiss in real life). Leo and Calypso flying off into the sunset together. It's all really well done.

The only scenes that fail are yet again the Will Solace ones. Because Will is a character we barely know, and he comes off as condescending towards Nico (in my opinion). Nico has far better chemistry with Jason. Although a lot of these characters seem to have great chemistry together, Jason and Nico (and Leo and Jason) are the easiest ones for me to find evidence of. So i'm now just imagining two small changes: Nico and Jason get together, and Octavian somehow survived and hitches a ride back to civilization with Leo and Calypso as the incredibly awkward third wheel. And with those two additions, I think we have the perfect ending.

So good job on Rick Riordan's part. He took an ending that seemed really bad, and somehow turned it around to make it beautiful again. Bravo. Well played. You astound me with your ability to write something bad, but then turn it around by writing something beautiful and amazing. Now I'm going to try and read one of the books Rick Riordan didn't write, but helped publish: The Storm Runner. It's got a foreword by him, so maybe that'll give me a chance to look at him as a person.

PS: I started the Storm Runner. His foreword wasn't too insightful, but it did show me that he's just as funny when he's writing non fiction as when he's writing his own books. I know some of his later forewords (like for the navajo mythology book) actually had him discussing how he's trying to use his publishing imprint to promote minority voices and mythologies, but I suppose not every foreword can be that insightful.
