Lilith and hunter bonding post emperor' coven leave. It would be quite akwarkd at the beginning but I can see those two get along like a house on fire if you given them a chance.
Tumblr media
We should have seen them interact at least once, you're so right anon.
edit : per suggestion decided to add a description for screen readers. should probably start adding those to all my drawings now that I think about it.
Image description: digital sketches of Hunter and Lilith from The Owl House, in slight variations of their late Season 2 designs. In the first panel, they're awkwardly looking away from each other, and Hunter asks: "...So, did you know?" regarding the history of his abuse.
Lilith replies: "I. Had some suspicions." to which Hunter replies: "...Did you hate me?"
Lilith tells him: "No. I was too busy looking over my shoulder 24/7." Lilith is visibly feeling guilty. "...I'm sorry."
In the second panel, they're wearing an oversized T-shirt together that reads: "We spent all our lives in a cult and all we got is this shirt." They're both sweating, and Hunter's giving a thumbs up with half of his face hidden in the shirt. He's slowly running out of oxygen. Meanwhile Lilith grins and waves enthusiastically in slight derangement, trying to make light of their unfortunate situation. There's a fire raging in the background : a metaphor for their mental health being engulfed in flames. End description.

ok so i had questions about how to play neuvi, specifically c0 neuv, without getting your charge attacks interrupted, so i decided to make this post with a lil video illustration so it doesnt sound so abstract. its my f2p c0 neuvi on prototype amber
anyway first things first, while playing neuvi, remember you're a ranged unit. ACT LIKE IT. dont stand in front of the enemy. he also, unlike charged bows, has full periphery vision AND can move with normal running speed, while attacking. it doesnt cost stamina. you should ALWAYS be moving and you should be out of enemies' reach
my general rule of thumb is being 2 dashes away, bc his charge attack is a bit longer than 2 dashes. he can also collect balls from 2 dashes away if you're looking at them. how to move depends on how aggressive the enemies are, if they are fast chasing you, then i prefer moving away and to the side, doing like a half-circle, so im still in 2 dash range from the balls. if they are stationary, then i just kind of strife a bit left and right. try in overworld first if abyss is too hard.
next, you do get hit sometimes and its not a big deal. actually, he can tank most ranged attacks without being interrupted, its the direct melee hits from enemies that have most stagger. so again, stay away
if you did get interrupted, for example, 2 beasts in this abyss are really annoying, they move too fast and erratic to be able to keep consistent distance. if you do get interrupted, dont try to start new charge attack immediately. enemies usually have several hits in their combos,. if you got dunked by the first hit, you start charge attack and immediately get hit by the second hit, and just lose 3 additional balls. instead, run away - 2 dashes rule - and access situation if enemy is done being a jerk.
tldr, change your mentality from playing melee characters. every neuvi fight is a boss battle - and you are the boss. you are the deathstar who has a giant laser and can fly. you should not be near the enemies, you should be nuking them from the orbit.

Who's the oc that you like and/or use the most in black clover? Asking for.... science... yeah..
Hm yes. Clearly there’s nothing suspicious going on here. A completely ordinary question to be asking./lh
So.
The BC oc of mine that gets the most attention is Josele Canty. I have… many others. But I’ve never gotten around to expanding on them much…
Ooooh! I also adore the ocs belonging to my friends~! I wanna specifically shout out Acylla Rhine from @faewraithsworld and Mallory Demiscura from @sailor-muno!
I even got a commission of Acy and Mal with Josele because they’re such a cute trio bdhxidjdhdisjdhxu! (Cookie blew me outta the water with this but she always delivers gorgeous art!)

Hadrian's Wall
Hadrian's Wall (known in antiquity as the Vallum Hadriani or the Vallum Aelian) is a defensive frontier work in northern Britain which dates from 122 CE. The wall ran from coast to coast at a length of 73 statute miles (120 km). Though the wall is commonly thought to have been built to mark the boundary line between Britain and Scotland, this is not so; no one knows the actual motivation behind its construction but it does not delineate a boundary between two countries.
While the wall did simply mark the northern boundary of the Roman Empire in Britain at the time, theories regarding the purpose of such a massive building project range from limiting immigration, to controlling smuggling, to keeping the indigenous people at bay north of the wall. The wall continued in use until it was abandoned in the early 5th century CE.
Purpose
The military effectiveness of the wall has been questioned by many scholars over the years owing to its length and the positioning of the fortifications along the route. The argument goes that, had the wall actually been built as a defensive barrier, it would have been constructed differently and at another location. Regarding this, Professors Scarre and Fagan write,
Archaeologists and historians have long debated whether Hadrian's Wall was an effective military barrier…Whatever its military effectiveness, however, it was clearly a powerful symbol of Roman military might. The biographer of Hadrian remarks that the emperor built the wall to separate the Romans from the barbarians. In the same way, the Chinese emperors built the Great Wall to separate China from the barbarous steppe peoples to the north. In both cases, in addition to any military function, the physical barriers served in the eyes of their builders to reinforce the conceptual divide between civilized and noncivilized. They were part of the ideology of empire. (Ancient Civilizations, 313)
This seems to be the best explanation for the underlying motive behind the construction of Hadrian's Wall. The Romans had been dealing with uprisings in Britain since their conquest of the region. Although Rome's first contact with Britain was through Julius Caesar's expeditions there in 55/54 BCE, Rome did not begin any systematic conquest until the year 43 CE under the Emperor Claudius (r. 41-54 CE).
The revolt of Boudicca of the Iceni in 60/61 CE resulted in the massacre of many Roman citizens and the destruction of major cities (among them, Londinium, modern London) and, according to the historian Tacitus (56-117 CE), fully demonstrated the barbaric ways of the Britons to the Roman mind.
Boudicca's forces were defeated at The Battle of Watling Street by General Gaius Suetonius Paulinus in 61 CE. At the Battle of Mons Graupius, in the region which is now Scotland, the Roman General Gnaeus Julius Agricola won a decisive victory over the Caledonians under Calgacus in 83 CE. Both of these engagements, as well as the uprising in the north in 119 CE (suppressed by the Roman governor and general Quintus Pompeius Falco), substantiated that the Romans were up to the task of managing the indigenous people of Britain.
The suggestion that Hadrian's Wall, then, was built to hold back or somehow control the people of the north does not seem as likely as that it was constructed as a show of force. Hadrian's foreign policy was consistently “peace through strength” and the wall would have been an impressive illustration of that principle. In the same way that Julius Caesar built his famous bridge across the Rhine in 55 BCE simply to show that he, and therefore Rome, could go anywhere and do anything, Hadrian perhaps had his wall constructed for precisely the same purpose.

Yay!! More Sonic OC stuff hehe. These are just refs for them age wise. I’m gonna start working on more compete refs with turnarounds and stuff soon :)
Also! Rhine isn’t here, that’s becuase tbh he’s kinda in limbo rn - I know that fankids don’t really have to make sense with the characters in question (like many have pointed out - sonic and shadow would prob be shit parents or not want kids at all) but Rouge I think just…..would not want kids. So I’m thinking instead it’ll be more of a slow, accidental kid acquisition where Knuckles takes on a protégé to guard the Master Emerlad after him, and since Rouge visits so much they end up bonding. Rouge is more like funny aunt who visits every now and again than a mom, and Knuckles is more of a teacher than a dad, but they do have a silly little found family I think. I’m not sure if it’ll still be Rhine or if I ‘ll design someone else. Honestly I may reuse the idea / design for the Knuxilver fankid I made a bit ago cuz I really liked their design and concept. Who knows!

yay my super fun 00s au... even if THIS picture is about 1998..... but okay I was asked to tell about Rhine and Dainsleif in this au: they worked together some time ago. In the 90s.
Rhinedottir is a professor/researcher/lector of the university. Strict and cool lady scaring her students. In 1990 Dainsleif joined this university as...........some secret worker! this is top secret even now (2005). Even Lumine and Aether don't know what his job EXACTLY is...
Since then, Rhine and Dain got to know each others better. Dainsleif even looked after little Albedo when Rhinedottir took him at work with her sometimes.
if you have any questions ideas hcs we can chat i really like it (and I don't really like it that i can't reply your tags. i read everything cry of happiness and gratefulness but cant say thank you to you guys. thank you for your kind words my dearies)

Quote from Neuvi stories that directly calls him original god of life and talks about him comparing himself to celestia's new god:
In addition to commanding the power of Hydro, the Hydro Dragon also had mastery over the sea that was the source of life. Before any outside life forms were ever created, all life on this planet traced its origins to the Primordial Sea. Indeed, those placid waters were worthy of the title of "birthing waters" or "amniotic fluid" given by those who came after. And the Hydro Dragon could, in turn, be regarded as this planet's original "God of Life." Neuvillette knows all this, of course, just like he knows that all rivers meet again in the great ocean. These birthing waters might not be of any special importance to humans, but for Neuvillette, he can differentiate every drop, every minute memory. He still remembers the foreign usurper appointing their own "God of Life" to order the living. He still remembers how the usurper had made "her" to suppress the original vital force of this planet. And of course, he also knows how "she" came to commit the original sin...
ok i love furina's quest and there is a lot to talk about in it, but i think the way she received vision is a poetic cinema moment that is easy to miss if you don't think about context
first of all, her vision is given by neuvilette, it even has tiniest fangs added to signify belonging to a dragon. in his profile stories, neuvi explains that apparently visions are not given by the archons freely, instead gnosis is what takes piece of archon's power and gives to humans. we know from ei that she's not even aware it's happening. archons are bound to "grant" visions by celestia, without their actual knowledge or consent. but neuvi is not bound by celestia, instead, he says he purposefully set away parts of himself to gift to humans, like treasure.
second. all hydro users are mimics, all of them have a theme of performance, of pretending to be someone else, and it's almost always when they feel they HAVE to play a role. Barbara who pretends to be cheerful and happy for her fans while being depressed, Ayato received his vision the night his father gave him responsibility for their failing commission and he realized he will have to play for the politics, Kokomi keeping up role of priestess for her people even though it literally drains her, Xingque hiding his passion for writing behind facade of commercial heir for his father, and so on. They struggle with having to hide their real selves for the role, which is exactly what Furina went through. But she didn't have vision when she was playing the Archon.
Instead, she received vision when she freely decided to step on stage to express herself instead of being forced like before. when the lines between role and her herself are clearly marked and known to both her and the audience, and the performance was made to bring joy to both her and other people, instead of a lie meant to fool them.
and tldr idk, i think it's very poetic that one of the first, if not THE first vision that was ever given by a god freely, as a gift instead of being forced by the gnosis, is for the wish that was also finally made freely after so many years of not having a choice.

before you post anything about rhine lab you should be forced to answer a short quiz with questions like "name everyone's character motivation" and "how does the idea of emotional disconnection play into the story?" and if you wriite the word "divorce" it deletes your entire account like the third act of a yoko taro game

The Tale of Two Cities according to Stephi and Heiko - Part 491
Yesterday it has started again: Oktoberfest. It took Munich’s mayor two strikes to open the first barrel of beer and the festivities started. Theresienwiese, the place the fun is happening actually open at 9am and the first visitors started running towards the tents.
I have been to Oktoberfest in 2018 with Stephi, Pete and Old Man Fern and it was something different in size. Oktoberfest really is one hell of a fair (and I will get e a lot of backlash for calling it a fair).
But it’s not just people drinking beer in huge tents but also a lot of places to eat and rides far more rides you know form any fair you have ever visited (if it wasn’t for Oktoberfest). That’s what the first picture from Munich by Stephi shows.
The second pictures shows a ferris wheel that visits Cologne twice or threes a year and is built up at two distinct places by the zoo or the Schokoladenmuseum by the Rhine. Cologne also has a number of small fairs, the biggest being Deutzer Kirmes in spring.
As usual the question: Have you been to Oktoberfest? Do you go to a fair when it’s close to your hometown? And do you jump on the rides or a ferris wheel when you have the opportunity?

Spoiler warning for the new Xbox glider description
Lokey feel bad for Dain and Vedrfolnir after reading the new glider description. Spoiler
Like Vedr was just doing his job and they blinded him and threw him in prison for it. Like what did bro see that warranted that response for him. I think it could be something to do with the vinster king inevitability destroying his nation and it probably was classed as an act of treason or something.
And imagine Dain’s pov of that, Dain served the king and the royal family and they (im assuming the king sentenced Vedr) did that to his older brother. Bro probably lost all faith in his king at that point.
I’m sorry for mocking your cataclysm trauma Dain and for you relationship with your brother and giving very hypocritical advice to the traveler knowing your own relationship with your sibling
Okay okay more on to my speculations regarding this information, other than the points I already included
1.) I think Dain and Vedr had a very close relationship before everything happened considering he was apart of the group that were supposed to save the nation, and he was still helping (somehow, I don’t have any ideas yet as to how they communicated while Vedr was in prison, my only guess is Dain abusing his power as Twilight Sword and using that to talk to him). This idea comes from the fact Dain seemed very reluctant to mention the sinners considering it was 3.8 or something that he first mentioned them or anything really about his family. As well as the line “The young knight, initially intending only to save his older brother” (adorable, kicking my feet reading that line) and the line mentioned about Dain’s family implies that his family was significant to him at some point (brotherless behaviour, it’s giving Diluc and Kaeya kinda -ex person waiting for genshin to let diluc and Kaeya make up, well not ex still am just moved on to Dain and Vedr’s relationship -it’s got more tea to it okay-, if you ship them dni right now either of the sets of BROTHERS for that matter)
2.) Dain probably knew the sinners before he gathered them to eliminate the threat to their homeland considering the line “the young knight gathered the brilliant young ones of the age”. Which implies he at least knew who they were, maybe they were all of equal footing at the time
3.) how old were the ‘brilliant young ones of the age’ cause that could imply early 20’s potentially late teens, or young in the sense that they are younger than majority in their respective fields in the royal court (I’m still rolling with the whole royal court job agenda) cause like maybe for example with Rhinedottir she might have been in her mid late 20’s around 27 ish working in the court as an alchemist while her colleagues (I’m assuming she had colleagues) may have been a lot older than her and more experience under their belts than her.
But then again they were all called the ‘best in the fields’ or something along those lines by Dain so maybe they were really young and just very talented like Rhine could maybe out do alchemists that had been working for 40 years or something and only be like 19-25.
4.) (I think I’m up to 4, this is getting long might have to split it into two posts) the question now being posed to me is how big is the age gap between Dain and Vedr, I’m thinking if we go for the whole late teen early 20’s thing maybe he was 23 and Dain was ~20 ish. but then vedr seems to young considering what he did cause like Mona travels and learnt from Barbeloth for X many years and appears to be in her early mid 20’s (I need ghost to play twenties when I see them, sorry getting side tracked) and she’s not a visionary, like she’s a good astrologist but not at visionary level. So maybe Vedr was in his late 20’s at the time and Dain (mid twenties) and gang were mid to late twenties (Rhine is the youngest and Dain the most immature, I don’t remember who said that originally, credit to them for the idea but it’s cannon now). Cause like I can’t see Dain and Vedrfolnir being more than 4 years apart considering how close I think they were
Anyways end rant -for now- bye bye to anyone who is still here till the end, I got a bit distracted (a bit is an understatement)

Apologies if this questions sounds stupid or ignorant, but I'm genuinely trying to educate myself. Can Jews be Jewish *and* a different race, so does a Jewish identity supersede another racial identity? Just wondering because a lot of Ashkenazi Jews I know (in real life or online) push back against the idea that they are white. I've heard European Jews say that they are not considered white, do not have white privilege, etc. so they are not white. But I've also seen a lot of Jews of color identify with both their Jewish identity and their "racial" identity (ravenreveals on Instagram explains how she identifies as Black *and* Jewish, and one of my friends identifies as an Asian Jew). So is there a reason many European (Ashkenazi?) Jews don't identify as white/identify as only Jewish? I'm sorry if this is offensive in any way, this isn't my intent :)
Sorry it took me so long to answer, I am swamped with asks haha
Yes, it's possible to be Jewish and a different race, as Judaism isn't a race, but an ethnoreligion, or even better described as a tribal nation.
Now, first I'm going to push back on you equating European with Ashkenazi. Ashkenazi is a specific term referring to Jews whose ancestors settled in the Rhine valley after the Roman expulsion from Judea. Many of these Jews eventually migrated eastward to Eastern Europe and Westward to British Isles, while others stayed in the Rhine valley region. But not all Jews whose ancestors settled in Europe are Ashkenazi.
There are Sephardi Jews, obviously, whose ancestors settled in the Iberian peninsula following the Roman expulsion, and then later migrated to North Africa, Northwestern Europe, Eastern Europe, and West Asia following the Spanish and Portugese inquistions.
There are also Italki Jews in Italy and Romaniote Jews in Greece, all of which are unique communities of Jews whose ancestors settled in Europe and who are not Ashkenazi.
Additionally, not all Ashkenazi Jews are racialized as white. Ashkenazi does not refer to your race, but rather who your ancestors are and/or what community traditions you follow. There are Ashkenazi Jews of every race.
The reason why lots of what-you-perceive-as-white Jews don't identify as white is because Judaism precedes the modern constructs of race (yes, race is a construct, not an immutable science) and because whiteness is highly subjective and fluid, just as non-whiteness is. Because race is a construct, which race a person is perceived as varies by where they are and by which people they are around.
Jewish "whiteness" is also conditional- and as Jews we don't like to leave ourselves vulnerable to shifting statuses. Jewish "white-passing-ness" can also be a tool of violence, either by denying the racial reality of antisemitism, or by being 'proof' that Jews are shape-shifting inflitrators of the white race. Hitler's Final Solution was total extermination precisely because he feared many Jews would pass as white and spread their Jewish blood among the Aryans, and so the total extermination of Jews was deemed as necessary, like one would exterminate a parasite.
This of course doesn't mean that no Jew has ever had access to the privilege afforded to whiteness. In the post-Holocaust era, many Jews have tried to successfully assimilate into whiteness to access even a little bit of privilege in order to protect themselves. I'm not going to lie and say that if I was pulled over at a traffic stop, my lighter complexion wouldn't give me more grace at the hands of the police officers than someone with darker skin would. Because yes, sometimes I am racialized as white and therefore access the privilege of whiteness.
But that doesn't mean I don't feel deeply uncomfortable when I'm filling out a form and the only options for race and even ethnicity are "white", "black", "hispanic", and "asian". Because while at the end of the day I'll check "white", it's only because I don't want to be accused of fraud (even though Middle Eastern or just Jewish would fit me better, but that's not an option). But that's just me. Some Jews are fine calling themselves "white Jews". Two Jews three opinions and all.
Someone introduced me to the phrase "racialized white/black/etc" a few years ago, and I think it makes much more sense. Because race is entirely dependent on perception and how others racialize you. I am not White, but sometimes I am racialized as white. Other times, I am racialized as "not-quite-white-but-we-don't-know-how-to-categorize-you-so-we're-just-going-to-try-and-guess-and-ask-wildly-invasive-questions".
At the end of the day, call Jews what they want to be called, and don't try and push labels on us. If a Jew doesn't want to be called white, don't call them white. Because race, ethnicity, religion, and all that is complicated, and Judaism predates all of that, so naturally Jews are going to have mixed feelings about it all.
