oh yeah built the Banshee a while ago, forgot to post

Built an NZ-666 Kshatriya mobile suit.

She's a big girl.

Just look at her holding hands with this Qubeley!

Overall, the kit has only one pair of hands and nowhere to store the beam swords (the funnel rack is part of the solid inner wing binder piece), but she's so massive it's not surprising at all. I shudder to think what an RG or MG model of her would cost.

But with that, I have Full Armor Unicorn, Banshee Norn, Sinanju, and Ksgatriya. All I need are Rozen Zulu and Geara Zulu, a Delta, and a Jegan or two and I'll have Unicorn fairly adequately represented...

The RG RX-0[N] Gundam 02 Banshee Norn. The main body of this kit is basically the same as the RG Unicorn, so I am just going to focus on the new aspects of this version of the kit.

Bandai only did a standard release of the Banshee Norn version of this suit (no basic RG Banshee) which comes with the Armed Armor DE, a grenade launcher/beam weapon for the Beam Magnum, and the big psycho-frame mane that goes in the backpack. These are really interesting additions to the Banshee's already unique look in spite of the issues with the Armed Armor DE. The DE is very big and bulky as well as prone to having one part continually falling off. I fixed the part loss issue with glue, but the bulk is still an issue.

The major issue with the bulk has to do with the attachment points on the arm and backpack. They provide no stability to the shield so it rotates out of position very easily. As the connection point on the shield is round. This round connection does provide options for different angles, but lacks any staying power.

Thankfully the Beam Magnum attachment works like a charm and is very cool. Next post will cover the P-Bandai Armed Armor VN/BS expansion set for this kit.

Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn

This one has been delayed long enough lol. This will be the overall review for the kit in both modes. To be honest, the Real Grade Gundam Banshee Norn was not a kit that I was originally keen acquiring. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the color scheme and flared v-fin design of the Banshee initially, but I admit that the design has really grown on me to the point where it’s now a top favorite of mine. Quite the 180. This setiment was only increased after building this awesome and fantastic kit.

Aesthetically, this kit is an absolute unit of gunpla. As a real grade, the surface detail is of course gold standard, and I really like that they decided to go with a dark blue and purple combo which nicely compliment the gold/yellow. However, the slight color differentation between the dark blue and purple isn’t as noticeable as on the Unicorn Gundam. Additonally, Bandai have yet to nail a solid injected plastic gold color, but the one for the RG Banshee Norn is decent.

Articulalation overall is the superb RG standard, and the joints are some of the tightest joints I’ve ever had the pleasure of handling. A little too tight at spots, but nothing a little loosening via various methods can’t fix This kit can reliable achieve and hold almost any pose you desire in both the Unicorn and NT-D modes. Handling on this kit is also great, despite the transformation feature. There are several locking mechanisms that keep most of the moved armor panels in place. However, there are a few panels that will almost always close when handling, and that would be the additional thrusters on the backpack and back skirt. It’s not a big deal, but can be a slight nuisance at times.

In terms of features and equipment, the RG Banshee Norn boasts an impressive array of armed armors and beam weaponry. There are the Armed Armors XC and DE, attached to the backpack and shield respectively and providing increased offensive and defensive capabilities. In addition to the Beam Magnum, there is the underslung multi-ordinance revolving launcher which can deploy a beam jutte, and 4 total beam sabers - 2 stored on the Armed Armor XC and 2 mounted as deployable tonfas.

I’ve had this kit for a few months now, and it’s probably one of the top best looking OOB builds I have. Highly recommended. Hopefully I can get my hands on that P-Bandai equipment expansion set.

From Bandai Hobby. Following the groundbreaking release of the RG 1/144 Unicorn Gundam last year, its black unit 02, the "Banshee Norn", is coming to the RG series! The advanced frame work unique to the RG series allows this kit to transform smoothly between its two modes and lock into place. This intricate "Lock Mechanism" secures parts of the kit during transformation and adds a high level of stability. A "Link Mechanism" has also been integrated into the MS joins to allow for less assembly steps while allowing smooth articulation. The Banshee's iconic dark navy colors are expertly reproduced using colored plastic parts with different hues of navy for added depth.
