“culpa mía” movie review
This may seem weird but i surprisingly really loved the movie. Spanish productions are very unique and different from other ones.
The first thing I heard about this movie was that it was step sibling romance, which didn’t sound appealing for me to watch it.
The first few scenes were the most basic-taken-out-of-wattpad-teenage-fantasy scenes you could imagine. I guess the entire movie was directed for this kind of audience. I am not complaining at all though.
The enemies to lovers trope was executed quite well for my liking. Although there were many cliche moments the storyline was a poignant rollercoaster of passion and emotion.
The Spanish productions love a good family-criminal-drama tropes which appeared in the movie as well and added a little extra spice to the movie.
I really liked “Culpa mia” I gave it 4/5 stars. It was fresh but classic, romantic but dangerous. Overall great movie, which I am sure teenage girls will love!

Millers Girl
You know that feeling when you feel something. The feeling that makes you stop for a moment and your body starts to sink into the earth grounding you to it, making you one with the essential being that is this universe.
This is how I feel when I watch a good movie or read a good book. I am not talking about something that you say “That was awesome” or “I’d watch, read, or do it again” Im talking about when you stop for a moment, and breathe in what you just ingested with the pupils of your eyes and what has reached into your soul. Im talking about that “wow” factor, the moment that it takes your breath away.
Only a few movies and books have done this to me. Where I literally couldn’t peel my eyes off the screen or force my fingers to stop turning the page.
Miller’s girl has done this to me. Miller’s Girl has inspired me. Miller’s girl has taken, my breath, away.
When I saw the trailers in brief moments and thought I had an understanding of what the movie was about I was intrigued. I thought it was a movie about a student-teacher affair, a “teacher's pet” moment if you will. But, within the first 5 minutes of the movie I was hooked on another plot, dragged into another story that I was completely oblivious about.
The story of a writer. That's why it hits home.
The sheer poeticness of this entire movie is astonishing, to say the least. It's so beautiful that the shots from a filmmaker's perspective were inspiring.
The way she spoke made you feel every word she was saying as if you were a writer yourself. Making poems in your head of the tragedy of love and loss and you maybe have never felt either.
I can’t speak for everyone. Some may just find it sexy with a dark turn, some may have found it sad, and some may have found it enlightening. Especially for women when the girls talk about sex in a way that it should be talked about. The wanting of a man who's older because he would care. Caring to take his time, get the juices flowing, and making sure that at the end, you would be begging for more.
I found it to be the pinnacle of a writer's fantasy. The beauty in the way power shifts, the anguish behind the words they write. It is beauty and pain, it is love and hate, it is war in one's mind of turning reality into a story that you want to keep reading.
In this movie over and over I heard things that I would want to quote. Love is anguish and I am in love with this movie. The pain I feel when she longs to love someone the way he writes about loving his wife. In the end, all I could think was “Tis better to have love and loss than to never love at all.” Longing for love but not knowing what comes with it. Indeed she did turn down the road that would inevitably lead to nothing but hurt and pain but, at least she felt something. She no longer has this hole in her heart that she felt would never be filled. Writing was her love and she chose to get inspired. I wonder if she regrets her choice. At the end, they look at one another, and tears fall down her cheek. Then, her tears turn to justice, she chooses to not be the victim in her story but the villain. You know what they say about villains, they’re made, not born.
“Human ruins of a madman's love”

“There are few frontmen today capable of making use of the typical rock star theatricality with the same ease as Alex Turner», wrote Sian Cain in the Guardian, surgically circumscribing his charisma: a rock star who seems to come from the Fifties, capable of holding the stage like few others, of exceptional skill and an almost extraterrestrial grace. In a world of mythomaniac musicians eager to jostle to be noticed, Turner does the exact opposite: he stages a performance where the only protagonist is 'his' music - again, perhaps without one of the most gifted songwriters ever - and wins hands down.”

A small selection of books, some of which have been used as the cover elements for my fic, were the books I read in the past four months.
1. "The Other Richard III" by John Birney
John Birney's book "The Other Richard III" presents a fresh perspective on Richard III, the controversial monarch of England. It portrays him as a more complex and sympathetic character than the traditional image portrayed by Shakespeare and historical accounts.
Birney's extensive research and deep knowledge of historical facts make his argument credible. This adds to the credibility of his revisionist approach, making the book an engaging read for those seeking alternative historical perspectives.
The writing style is accessible, yet it maintains depth and complexity. The exploration of Richard's motives and actions provides a nuanced understanding that challenges traditional narratives about his character. While the book offers an interesting alternative perspective, some readers may find the arguments to be too one-sided, as it at times glosses over the more negative aspects of Richard's reign. Additionally, the style can sometimes feel overly academic, which may discourage casual readers from engaging fully with the text. Furthermore, there are instances where Birney's conjectures exceed the available historical evidence, leading some to question the validity of the conclusions presented. Compared to Philippa Langley's Richard III: The King in the Car Park, which also revisits the reputation of Richard, Birney's approach to the topic is less focused on the physical discovery of the king's remains and more on the political and personal motivations behind his reign. While Langley's work is more investigative, Birney's book is a deeper dive into the psychology of the man behind the crown. The Other Richard III would be an excellent choice for readers who enjoy historical revisionism and character-driven analysis. However, it may not provide the same level of factual evidence as some other historical works.
2. "The Enemy at the Gate: Habsburgs, Ottomans, and the Battle for Europe" by Andrew Wheatcroft
This book is a masterful work of historical scholarship offering a comprehensive and insightful analysis of the conflict between the Habsburg and Ottoman empires over centuries. The book focuses on the pivotal event of the siege of Vienna in 1683 which serves as a microcosm for the broader conflict. Wheatcroft expertly intertwines political, military and cultural aspects of this period presenting a balanced and nuanced view. His writing is clear and accessible, allowing readers to easily grasp the complexities of the situation. The result is an engaging narrative that brings to life the intricate power dynamics of Europe in the late 17th century. One of the shortcomings of the book is its heavy emphasis on military and strategic aspects, which sometimes overshadows the broader perspectives of daily life under Ottoman and Habsburg control. While military details can be fascinating, they can also be overwhelming for readers who are not interested in tactical historical narratives. Additionally, some reviewers have noted that the narrative sometimes jumps between different characters and factions too quickly, making it difficult to follow the storyline. A comparison of "The Siege of Vienna" by John Stoye and "The Enemy at the Gate" by Wheatcroft shows that the latter work covers more extensively and provides a more comprehensive background to the Ottoman-Habsburg conflict. In contrast, Stoye's book focuses exclusively on the siege. Wheatcroft's work, on the other hand, delves deeper into political and military aspects. "The Enemy at the Gate" is an ideal choice for those who appreciate in-depth analysis of political and military events. On the other hand, Stoye's book may be more appealing to those seeking a concise and focused account of the siege itself. Wheatcroft's exploration of events is more extensive and multilayered, making it a more suitable choice for readers with a strong interest in military history.
3. "Blood, Fire & Gold: The Story of Elizabeth I & Catherine de Medici" by Estelle Paranque is a captivating dual biography that explores the lives of two remarkable women of the 16th century, Elizabeth I and Catherine de'Medici. Through an in-depth exploration of their political activities and personal journeys, the author weaves a gripping narrative that engages readers with its vivid prose and detailed historical background. The book dives deep into the complexities of court politics, revealing how these powerful figures navigated the dangerous waters of power in a male-dominated society. Paranques masterful use of vivid language and meticulous research brings this period to life, creating a vivid portrait of the era. Nevertheless, certain readers have observed that the book occasionally appears to be more like an amalgam of incidents than a cohesive narrative, with occasional jumps in time and attention that disrupt the continuity of the story. Despite the authors' meticulous delving into the private lives of these two women, some readers may find the level of detail regarding their public lives to be overwhelming or repetitive at times. Furthermore, there could be further exploration of the interaction between their personal lives and the wider political landscape beyond their court circles. When we compare Paranque's book with Leanda de Lisle's "The Sisters Who Would Be Queen", we can observe a distinct difference in their approaches. While de Lisle delves into the intimate details of Elizabeth's rivals, such as Mary, Queen of Scots and Margaret Tudor, Paranque takes a broader perspective, exploring the lives of these two women in a wider context. Paranque adds a valuable dimension to the genre of dual biographies by offering a fresh perspective on historical figures who are of interest to those intrigued by complexities of politics, power dynamics and gender roles.
4. "The Tudor Murder Files" by James Moore is a fascinating and suspenseful exploration of the dark and often brutal world of Tudor England. The book focuses on the numerous murders that occurred during the reigns of Henry VIII and his children, bringing together a wealth of historical sources to create a gripping narrative. While some aspects of the book are speculative, Moore's writing is lively and engaging, making the historical events come to life. The focus on the sinister aspects of the Tudor dynasty provides a fascinating look at the lengths they were willing to go to maintain their power.
Cons: While the book offers a compelling narrative, it occasionally ventures into speculative territory, presenting theories about motives and events that can be difficult to verify or are not universally accepted among historians. Additionally, some readers may feel that Moore's reliance on sensational accounts of Tudor intrigue distracts from more substantial historical analysis. Furthermore, the lack of in-depth exploration of certain key figures leaves gaps in our understanding of the political and social context of the period. Comparison: Compared to Alison Weir's The King's Reign, which also explores the darker aspects of the Tudor dynasty, The Tudor Murder Files focuses more on the sensational aspects of history. Weir's work, on the other hand, provides a more balanced and scholarly perspective.
Moore's approach is ideal for readers who enjoy narrative-driven exploration of historical mysteries. Weir's book offers a more academic approach to the same period, but if you are seeking detailed insight into the political world of the Tudors, then Moore's book will provide a fun albeit occasionally sensational introduction to the intrigues and violence that shaped this dynasty.

If I have to convince someone to watch heeramandi I would show them this scene. It's the scene that sets the story in motion it was played by the lovely sharmin and it has to be my favourite scene in the whole series.
Malikajaan played by the amazing Manisha mam is seen getting ready to go out and asks alamzeb to accompany her. We see alamzeb lie so that she doesn't have to go with her. In this moment two things are very clear alamzeb does not like going out and she will lie to get her way.
The scene is continues with malikajaan reading alamzeb 's diary and using it to her advantage the message is clear anyone who says no to her has to face consequences. Alamzeb tries to convince her to let her come with her after learning that her favourite poet is going to perform but malikajaan never gives second chance so she tells her to not come and stay home to rest.
It is followed by alamzeb running through the heeramandi to join malikajaan without her knowledge in this moment another fact is clear that alamzeb does what she likes even if it means she will later have to face the consequences. At alamzeb's introduction we learn she is fond of writing and wants to be a writer but this is the moment we want her to achieve her dreams and be free like she is at this moment running rebelliously to chase her dreams.
This moment is very special as see two opposite mother and daughter personality perfect foil for each other. It is lovely to watch their daynamic. And if you want to know whether or not alamzeb achieves her dream watch heeramandi on Netflix.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Coteries of New York - Escolhas Limitadas, mas Impacto Duradouro
Visual Novel Narrativa/Interativa:

Sooo i watched Sasaki to Miyano and im in love
I wouldnt say it was Perfect because this much stagnation in slice of life plot can be pretty anoying because they literally would say the same thing over and over again till episode 5 where we are introduse to stakes in the plot - that being the fact that Sasaki tells Miyano about his love to him and Miyano Has to think this fully before the School year end.
I also want to point out how good the writers captured the Queer expierence and coming to terms with your own sexuality. I think every Queer kid was doing the gayest shit ever not realizing that and still was convinced that they were in fact cishet.
And over all concept of a BL media being a part of a plot of BL was such a briliant and meta choise
Oh and i almost forgot how fucking much i dislike Miyano because im sorry but Sasaki said best when on Festival episode he only said "Unfair" when Miyano again was just running away from giving Sasaki answer on do he love him to or not. And i wanna remind you that in Universe time between Episode 5 and the festival episode was HALF OF A FUCKING YEAR so dude was held in unsertenty and "loving so much that it Hurts" state for half a godamn year. Yes i know this was mostly done to fluf out the episode count to 12 without having to use plot materials intended for the film but still that was a fucking shit thing to do you know
But i'm glad i watched this anime because all the characters are easley loveble and watching relationship of Sasaki and Miyano bloom before our eyes was beautyfull i love the selfawearness od comedy in this show and if you can please watch it with english dub because i feel like actors there were more awear about the campy nature of this show.
Anyways i would say it was 7.5/10 i love it and i cant wait for the film

The Sims 2 - Eurogamer - 7-17-2003
Seven expansion packs later we get the sequel!
Updated on 17 Jul 2003
Like it or not, The Sims is the biggest selling PC game of all time by some margin. It's not a success, it's a bloody phenomenon, and each and every expansion pack gets snapped up faster than chocolate drops dangled over the jaws of a slavering canine.
The Sims 2, then. An excuse to sell you the same game all over again with shinier graphics or a lovingly created sequel that'll drag in the few unbelievers that are still not convinced it's the greatest game ever? A bit of both really.
Eh, when I were a lad, it were all C64s around here
When home videogaming was a very small lad indeed, Activision released a wonderful text/icon based decision-making game called Alter Ego on Commodore 64 disk. Basically you went from the first stages of consciousness in the womb right up to (potentially premature) death, and could be as sickly sweet nice or as much of an unhinged arsehole as you wanted to be and everything in between simply by choosing your response to a series of typical scenarios. It psychologically profiled your 'individual' and really was one of the most compelling videogames experiences ever.
Just like Alter Ego, The Sims 2 lets your computer-generated creations grow from babies to children to adults and then to old age, also developing emotionally, mentally and physically. Apparently your creations will respond according to given situations depending on choices you make during your formative years. EA calls these 'Life's Big Moments' and your 'Life Score' depends on how you negotiate your way through these situations.
Included is the rather splendid 'Create-A-Sim' feature, which, shockingly, lets you customise the facial features to an almost infinite degree. On show at Camp EA were a few examples of how flexible the system is, with the ability to tweak everything, including the size, shape and colour of the eyes, width and length of the nose, hairstyle, and so on. Just to prove the point a pre-made Mr. T clone showed off the potential to tailor your avatar exactly the way you want it.
My disturbing offspring
Rather disturbingly, players can see what their offspring might look like if matched with a particular individual - and with aliens among the basic races available you can conceivably have a family of green-faced afro-sporting offspring running around. Thanks to the sure to-be-hyped-to-death DNA feature, your offspring will not only resemble the parents physically, but also pick up character traits, so if your Sims are a bunch of low life slobs, don't be surprised if the sprogs can't be arsed to tidy up either.
Another key enhancement is the much improved house building tool, which allows players to construct abodes spanning as many as four floors, with curves for the first time and various new objects to deck out your palace/slum exactly the way you want it.
Visually, The Sims 2's engine is a revelation next to the severely ageing original, with vastly improved, detailed character models sporting a pleasing array of incidental animations and individual touches that make the game a far more compelling prospect. Aside from that, the background detail and general style of artwork made even the various stills dotted around the presentation area look like renders rather than mere screenshots.
Don't hit on me!
The Camp EA demo session itself showed off a few typical Sims scenarios, with four teenage Sims (two boys, two girls) of varying levels of attractiveness and social skills. While the ladies man Bernie could charm the pants off both the ladies with his 'flirt' social skill, the slobbish Marty had no chance, hamstrung by his comparatively primitive 'hit on' skill. Similarly, the ladies don't appreciate infidelity - as evidenced by Bernie's dalliance right in front of his previous target resulting in a display of waterworks.
Upstairs in the Jacuzzi, we got to see the same foursome sharing the hot tub Big Brother style, with various examples of how the game allows players to engage in progressively complex activities the more they engage with one another. One such event was the ability to engage in some mock synchronised swimming, while later the use of a gym showed off the ability to spruce up the physical appearance of your Sim, and potentially win the heart of that shallow bint you've had your heart set on.
With the game still some six to eight months away from release, it'll be some time before we get proper hands on with the next blockbusting episode in this ridiculously large selling series [and it'll be muggins here who 'gets' to do it, I'll wager -Tom]. By then, the current relatively high minimum spec of 32MB graphics card and PIII 700 shouldn't be considered too high, especially when you acknowledge just how many expansion packs this will undoubtedly spawn.
Until then, there's another expansion pack to wade through (Makin' Magic) and, of course the more structured console sequel, Bustin' Out. As soon as we get a sniff of playable code, we'll let you know everything there is to know about The Sims 2 and its mutant offspring.

It's not cinema, it's an insult.
I am going to say the following about this thing called a movie. To all those who criticized and barded Snyder for ""Save Martha"" and this seems like a good movie. They definitely have an amoeba for a brain. This is not a movie, it is a constant insult that seeks to mock as much as it can of what was done well in DC, in an exaggerated way, so that whatever comes after that from now on with Gun at the forefront after the disgust of The Suicide Squad, less can not be expected. I painted it as something good, because that's the only justification I find for this movie. Absolutely lower the expectations of DC so much that whatever comes out feels like it's better. The movie you never know what you're looking at, if a Flash movie, a Batman movie, a superhero movie, or a silly movie from the early 2000s. or if it's a parody with little desire. Because it's not bad just because its effects are bad, it's bad because it doesn't make sense to be. the main engine ends up being an absurdity since it is not resolved, they open lines to things that are left loose, they bring the dead as cameos with a horrible cgi, actors who are alive because they are fighting, they recreate them with a cgi still More horrible, they make actors appear who never played a character, which, except for fans, nobody will understand why it appears in the movie. And to all this, add the silly almost cartoonish constant humor of the film. all the while joke after joke after silly joke that does not contribute. A movie that if it were a comedy in the 2000s I'd sure hit it because as a comedy it works, but it's a closure to a superhero movie. and it seems that he doesn't even bother to support that. Movie called """the superhero movie of the century, masterpiece, revolutionary""" how much did Warner spend for them to say that? is this revolutionary? This defend? Why is Gun behind and what Gun does seems cool to you? This is what the superhero genre should be? Closing, when Snyder said that the public was not ready for his vision of DC and that they did not understand it because they are not used to things like that. It literally fell short. Marvel lobotomized the public in such a way that any stupidity seems good to them. and something that comes out of there they do not understand or it seems bad to them.
Qualification? None, I don't consider this movie a movie. I recommend it? Yes, to go with an overdose of crazy brownies and laugh at an absurd comedy.

Warmer Sonnenschein euch allen! 🌅

so I watched the film "water for elephants" (2011). I can say that I had high expectations from it, which were partly justified. I liked the concept (the theme of the circus is still perceived as rare and original) 🎪
the film is quite beautiful and realistically filmed. interesting idea to make the main hero a pole, whose knowledge of polish language will be needed when developing the plot (the elephant, which the audience will love, will only understand commands in polish). the characters are ok too, reese witherspoon and christoph waltz did a great job (robert pattinson was also good, but lost out to his older colleagues in some ways)
I did not like the ending of the film, as it is quite predictable and trivial. naturally, the main character marlena will choose to escape from the circus. it was initially obvious (to me). the film lacked some zest. in addition, the social problems, based on the period of the Great Depression, are not enough revealed. i rate the film at 6/10. not bad, but could be better

The Price Of Breaking Up
Alternative: 파혼의 대가 Status: Ongoing Genre: Drama, Fantasy, Josei, Romance, Tragedy Chapters: 23 (Of 03/10/2023) Rating: 8/10
Go read here!
Description
Clearly, it was a joke made by God.
“The companion of His Royal Highness, the Crown Prince is the precious daughter of Marquis Lurhtella.”
How could the oracle be mistaken?
As soon as I was born, I was chosen to be the Crown Princess and have lived there, but everything changed overnight.
Power, status, and the perspective of people.
I thought only his love wouldn’t change.
However, he did not hesitate to notify me of the annulment of marriage, and that is how it ended between us.
Giving up everything was a lot easier than I thought.
But…
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Princess Pesentria.”
“……”
“Speaking of the owner of the temple, I wonder if you remember me.”
He, who had the greatest divine power in the Empire, reached out to me.
Can I hold his hand?
My Opinion
I say this is one of the best books I have ever read; the plot is captivating and the characters are well-developed. The artful writing style is also impressive, making it hard to put down the book once you start reading it.
There is not much to say about it as it is in the early stages of making it, so to be frank, that is the only reason I deducted two points from the score.
The female lead has been deemed my favourite character at this moment. I enjoyed the fact that she had shown power, which was not in her volition but in her smarts and wit. Overall, the book has a promising start and potential for further development. It will be interesting to see how the characters evolve and how the plot unfolds in future installments.
