how do you think each member of svt would take the girl they like out on their first date together? tooth aching sweetness kinda fluff pls 😭
seventeen x first date
seungcheol would probably take you to a nice rooftop restaurant. he’s the type who loves a good view, and he’d want you to see the city lights while you two chat over dinner. “do you like it up here?” he’d ask, a gentle smile playing on his lips as he watches your reaction. something is calming about the way he makes everything feel relaxed, even if it’s your first date. you’d find yourself easily opening up to him, laughing as he shares stories from his trainee days. he’d reach out, taking your hand in his, giving it a light squeeze. “let’s come back here again sometime.”
jeonghan wouldd suggest a day at a cozy café followed by a stroll through a retro neighborhood. “i know this great place with amazing pies,” he’d say, his eyes lighting up. you’d spend hours just talking. when you least expect it, he’d pull you into a cute little shop, insisting on buying you a small trinket/charm. “something to remember today by,” he’d grin. the day would end with a sunset walk, and as you sit on a park bench, he’d lean in close, whispering, “today was perfect, don’t you think?” he would fold when you agree.
joshua would plan something thoughtful, like a picnic in the park 🤧. he’d arrive with a basket full of homemade sandwiches and fruit, looking proud of his efforts. “i made these myself!” he’d say, a hint of shyness in his voice. you’d find a quiet spot under a tree, spreading out a blanket and just enjoying each other’s company. as you eat, he’d strum a guitar, softly singing a song he wrote—no sunday morning rain is falling. there’s a gentle sweetness in the way he looks at you, and you can’t help but feel warm inside.
junhui would suggest a trip to an amusement park. not that he reaaaally likes it, but he saw so many couples the last time he went that he can't help but think it's something romantic. “let’s see who screams the loudest?” he’d ask. you’d spend the day hopping from ride to ride. you’d laugh a LOT, especially when you both try and fail to win a giant stuffed animal. “we’ll get it next time,” he’d promise—but makes a trade with the seller to buy the teddy bear. he's not letting go of your hand. as the night falls, you’d ride the ferris wheel, the city spread out below.
soonyoung would take you to a dance studio for a fun and unconventional date. “i’ll teach you some moves,” he’d say excitedly, dragging you along. he’d be so eager, enthusiastically guiding you through the steps. you’d laugh together, stumbling over your feet, but he’d never let you feel embarrassed. “you’re doing great,” he’d encourage, his smile bright. after dancing, he’d take you for a casual meal at a street food stall, insisting you try his favorite dishes. he would break some dancing limietance your had, and you would leave the date FULL after the agitated dance session. “let’s dance again soon,” he’d say, a hopeful look in his eyes.
wonwoo would opt for a bookstore date, a good excuse to watch you over the book he’s going to read. he’d take you to a quiet little shop with shelves full of hidden gems. “pick out a book for me,” he’d say, curious to see your choice. you’d wander around, exchanging recommendations and sharing your favorite reads. there’s something personal about the way he listens, genuinely interested in what you have to say. afterward, he’d suggest grabbing coffee, and you’d sit in a cozy corner, talking about everything and nothing.
woozi would take you to an upscale restaurant, a place with faint lighting and a sophisticated ambiance. it's not really his scene, but he wants to make the night special. he shows up looking effortlessly cool, holding a small box. “i thought you’d like these,” he says, handing you a delicate bracelet from a luxury brand—that matches his. the evening is filled with soft conversations and gentle smiles. he watches you carefully, making sure you’re comfortable and happy. the whole night, you can’t help but feel a bit spoiled, but in the finest way possible.
minghao plans something unique and spiritual i think? he takes you to a meditation garden, a peaceful place filled with nature and tranquility. “i thought we could try something new together,” he says, leading you to a quiet spot. you sit together, practicing mindfulness and enjoying the serenity. after the meditation, he suggests a quiet walk. the date feels deep and meaningful, a chance to connect on a different level, you know? you leave feeling refreshed and enlightened, with a new perspective on things for sure.
mingyu a hands-on experience. he takes you to a cooking class, knowing you love trying new things. “let’s see who’s the better chef,” he teases, as you both don aprons. the class is fun and interactive, with lots of banter and friendly competition. mingyu is surprisingly good at it, but he’s also super sweet, helping you out when you struggle. you end up making a delicious meal together, and he insists on sharing it with everyone in the class.
seokmin has a flair for the dramatic, so it’s no surprise when he takes you to a theater. he’s picked a play he knows you've been dying to see. before the show starts, he surprises you by taking you backstage. “i know the lead actor,” he grins, as you meet the cast and crew. his enthusiasm is infectious, and you find yourself laughing and joking with everyone. during the play, he sneaks glances at you, gauging your reactions. it’s clear he’s put a lot of thought into this, and the way he beams every time you smile makes your heart flutter.
seungkwan plans an exciting date at a karaoke bar. he NEEDS to show off his vocal skills. “i’m going to impress you!” he says with a cheeky grin. he picks all the classics, and you both sing your hearts out, cheering each other on. he’s energetic and confident, making the whole experience feel like a concert. between songs, you joke and flirt a lot. it’s a night of fun and music, and you can’t help but feel drawn to him, you two would probably end up making out on the karaoke’s sofa with the mics in hand as the instrumental sounds behind.
vernon would take you to a comedy show, because he loves to see/watch you laughing. “you’ll love this comedian,” he’d say, grinning. you’d spend the evening laughing until your sides hurt, and he’d be just as entertained by your reactions as the show itself. after the comedy club, he’d suggest a late-night snack run, and you’d end up at a 24-hour diner, sharing fries and milkshakes. “you’ve got a great laugh,” he’d compliment. “i had so much fun tonight... with you.”
chan would want to do something active and fun. he’d take you to an arcade, eager to show off his gaming skills. “i’m gonna beat you at every game,” he’d tease, challenging you to a friendly competition. you’d play everything from racing games to air hockey, laughing and teasing each other. he’d win you a stuffed animal from a claw machine, proudly handing it to you. “for you,” he’d say with a grin. after the arcade, he’d take you to a casual burger joint, where you’d talk and joke around.

hi i'm back to terrorize all of you with more boyfriend!yeonjun thoughts :D vacation edition!!
boyfriend!yeonjun who whisks you away to another city for an impromptu surprise vacation, all expenses paid by him and refuses to hear it when you beg to at least let you pay for half..."i want to spoil you, so just go with it, please?" he begs and you eventually give in...several sugar-coated kisses and one shared milkshake (from a retro little diner that you two stumbled upon as you walked around) later ^^
boyfriend!yeonjun who drags you out of your hotel room at odd hours of the night to explore the city without the hustle and bustle of other tourists tripping around,, convinces you to take cute couple pictures with him so that he can post them later because he wants to show you off to the rest of the world (his words, not your own) <3
boyfriend!yeonjun who unabashedly stares at you as you're walking around hand in hand, adoring how the lights above create pretty little galaxies in your eyes...you catch him at one point and ask him what he's doing and he just grins and delivers a cheesy line about how he's just lost in your eyes, and though your face grows warm despite the cool air, you silently reach over to shove his beanie over his eyes with a smile instead of responding
boyfriend!yeonjun who excitedly drags you over to a park when he spots a swingset, gentle hands on your waist as he sits you down and steps around the back of the swing to push you...his cackles mix with your exhilarated squeals as you propel higher and higher into the air, shrieking that you're gonna fly off,, and when you finally are able to stop yourself, you're a little dizzy...yeonjun only serves to make you even dizzier when he leans down to press his lips against yours, a hand holding onto one of the chains to keep himself steady above you ^^
boyfriend!yeonjun who you find yourself slow dancing with in the middle of the empty park, a muffled slow song that you both love playing from the phone in his back pocket...he can't help but pull you closer when you shiver, savoring the way you snuggle further into him, a dopey, lovesick grin pulling at the corners of his lips as he presses your cold nose further against his neck
boyfriend!yeonjun who makes this vacation your best yet, all while deepening your love for each other with each step that you take and each secret, intimate moment that you share <3

"Rebel Hearts at Coyote Ugly" ✧
- jeff hardy x reader
(𝖜𝖔𝖗𝖉 𝖈𝖔𝖚𝖓𝖙 - 5.5k +) SMUT 21+
Description : In the vibrant city of New York, 2003, Y/N is a dance-waitress at Coyote Ugly a bustling bar, where she meets wrestling superstar Jeff Hardy and his friends, Lita & Matt. Leading to a night of excitement, tequila body shots, and adventure that neither of them will ever forget.
In the bustling heart of New York City, 2003, the neon lights of Coyote Ugly blazed against the night sky. The bar was a haven for those craving a taste of the wild, a place where the music was loud, the drinks were strong, and the dance floor was always packed with energetic souls seeking escape from the mundane. Your heart raced with excitement as the latest 2000s hit blasted through the speakers, setting the rhythm for the night's shenanigans. Wearing a simple yet alluring tank top that showcased your vibrant, color-changing hair and a pair of skin-tight pink cheetah-print jeans, your confidence radiated like the disco ball above you. Your job as a dance-waitress at this retro-punk gem meant you had the chance to express yourself freely, your every move telling a story of rebellion and passion.
Tammy, your best friend and fellow waitress, giggled as she watched you strut across the sticky bar floor, tray balanced perfectly on one hand. The smell of alcohol and sweat mingled with the scent of freedom that permeated the air. It was a typical Friday night, and the bar was packed with a motley crew of patrons ready to let loose. Your eyes sparkled with mischief as you approached the jukebox, dropping a couple of quarters into the slot and selecting the next song, a classic that was sure to get the party started: "Need You Tonight" by INXS. The crowd roared with approval, and you knew it was time to show them what Coyote Ugly was all about.
As the first chords of the song filled the air, Your body moved instinctively to the beat, hips swaying and feet tapping. You hopped onto the bar with an ease that belied the danger, your sturdy work boots keeping you firmly in place amidst the sea of bottles and glasses. The bar's regulars cheered, knowing that when someone danced on top of the bar at Coyote Ugly, it was going to be a night to remember. The music grew louder, the strobe lights painting the scene in a kaleidoscope of color. And then, in the midst of it all, the door to the bar swung open, and in stumbled three figures that looked like they had just stepped out of a wrestling magazine.
Jeff Hardy, with his blonde hair sticking to his forehead from the sweat of the earlier match, his muscular arms flexing as he threw his leather jacket over the back of a chair, caught your eye immediately. He was flanked by his equally as famous companions, Lita and Matt, all three of them looking like they owned the place. The three of them had clearly come from a successful night out, their faces flushed with excitement and a hint of intoxication. They brought with them an aura of celebrity that was impossible to ignore, even in a place as wild as Coyote Ugly. Jeff's eyes scanned the room, searching for something - or someone - to capture his attention, and when they landed on you, he couldn't help but smirk.
"Looks like we've found the main event," Jeff shouted over the music to Lita and Matt, who grinned in agreement. They made their way through the crowd, leaving a trail of whispers in their wake. The three of them slid onto the barstools, and your pulse quickened as Jeff leaned in, his voice a low rumble that made your skin tingle. "What's a girl like you doing in a place like this?" he asked, his Southern drawl thick with flirtation. Your cheeks flushed under the strobe lights as you served them drinks, feeling a sudden self-consciousness that was rare for someone who danced on bars for a living. But there was something about Jeff that was different, something that made your heart race in a way it hadn't in a long, long time.
"Just keeping things interesting," you replied with a sassy smile, flipping a bottle of tequila with practiced ease. "But it looks like you're the ones making waves tonight." Jeff's eyes never left your as he took a sip of his drink, his gaze burning into you like a brand. "Maybe we could make it a little more interesting," he suggested, raising an eyebrow. "How about you join us for a round?"
The night spun into a whirlwind of laughter, dancing, and drinks. Jeff's eyes never strayed from you, even as Lita and Matt mingled with the other patrons. His playful banter was infectious, and your sharp wit kept him on his toes. Every time the chorus of "Need You Tonight" played, Jeff's gaze grew more intense, his eyes darkening with desire. As the song ended, the crowd erupted into applause, and you hopped down from the bar, your legs feeling like jelly. Jeff was quick to grab your hand, pulling you closer. "You're something else, darlin'," he murmured, his breath warm against your ear.
The air was thick with electricity as you locked eyes with Jeff. The bar was spinning, the music fading into the background as if it were a distant memory. The only thing that mattered was the way his thumb traced lazy circles on the back of your hand, sending shivers down your spine. "How about you come back to Lita's place?" he offered, his voice low and seductive. "We can keep this party going all night long." The proposal hung in the air like a challenge, and you felt a thrill at the idea of a night with someone so obviously out of your league. "Why not?" You shrugged, playing it cool. "But only if I get to see more of those dance moves." Jeff's grin widened, revealing a dimple that sent butterflies fluttering in your stomach. "You got yourself a deal," he said, squeezing your hand. "Let's get the fuck out of here."
Lita, noticing the connection between Jeff and you, winked at you as she whispered something into Jeff's ear. He nodded, his eyes never leaving your face. "We'll grab a cab. Meet us outside," he instructed, a glint of excitement in his eyes. You nodded, feeling a mix of nerves and anticipation. After a quick chat with Tammy, you dashed home to change into something a little more... inviting. The fuzzy white tank top and purple shorts screamed 'fun' and 'sexy', and you hoped Jeff would think so too. The neon lights of the city reflected off the puddles in the street as you made your way back to the bar, heart racing like a rabbit on a racetrack.
When you arrived at Lita's apartment, the vibe was immediately more relaxed, the walls adorned with posters of rockstars and wrestling legends. The living room was a sea of velvet couches and vibrant colors that made you feel like you had just walked into a scene from a music video. Lita and Matt were already sprawled out, drinks in hand, looking like they hadn't moved since they left the bar. "Welcome to our little slice of chaos," Lita said with a laugh, patting the couch cushion next to her. "Take a seat, we're about to get wild."
Jeff led you to the kitchen, his hand resting casually on the small of your back. "So, your name's not really on the tip of my tongue yet," he said, opening the fridge to grab another round of drinks. "How about we start with that?" You blushed, feeling the weight of his touch. "It's Y/N," You replied, trying to sound nonchalant. He paused, his eyes locking with you for a brief, intense moment before he handed you a bottle of beer. "Nice to meet you, Y/N, I'm Jeff." The way he said it, so smooth and slow, made your knees wobble like jelly. "Yeah, I know," you quipped, trying to keep the conversation light. "You're kind of a big deal around here." He chuckled, the sound rumbling through his chest like a bass note, and you felt it in every cell of your body. "You're not so bad yourself, Y/N," he said, leaning closer. "How about we take this up a notch?" And with that, the night's true adventure began.
The four of them moved to the living room, the air thick with the scent of alcohol and the promise of something more. Lita suggested a game of truth or dare, and the energy in the room shifted to a playful, seductive tone. Jeff's eyes never left your as the dares grew raunchier, the truths more intimate. You felt a thrill run down your spine as he leaned over the coffee table, the muscles in his arms flexing as he picked up the shot glasses. "Alright, Y/N, your turn," he said, a wicked smile playing on his lips. "Truth or dare?" You took a deep breath, the room spinning slightly from the drinks. "Dare," You said, the word slipping out like a secret. Jeff's eyes gleamed. "I dare you to let me take a tequila shot off of you." The challenge was clear, and you felt a shiver of excitement at the thought of being so close to him.
Lita and Matt cheered as Jeff instructed you to lay down on the counter. He licked a line of salt off the soft skin of your stomach, his tongue sending a jolt of pleasure through you. The coolness of the salt was a stark contrast to the heat of his touch. He placed the lime between your teeth, and you could feel the anticipation building. He took the shot, his eyes never leaving your, and then, with a swift movement, he grabbed the lime, his mouth crashing down onto your in a searing kiss that left you gasping for breath. The taste of lime and tequila mingled on your tongue, and you couldn't help but moan into his mouth. The room fell away, and it was just Jeff and you, tangled in a kiss that was both fiery and sweet, like the perfect mix of danger and desire.
The night grew hazier as the drinks kept coming, the laughter and dares turning into whispers and touches that lingered just a little too long. Jeff's hand found its way to the back of your neck, his thumb tracing lazy circles that made you shiver. "Let's go to the guest room" he murmured, his breath hot against your ear. You nodded, the room spinning in a delicious blur. He guided you down the hallway to the guest room, the walls plastered with band stickers and neon lights casting eerie shadows on the floor. The door clicked shut behind them, and suddenly the world was reduced to the two of them, the thump of the music in the living room a distant memory. The room was small, but it felt like a sanctuary, a place where anything could happen, where reality could bend to their will. And as Jeff pushed you against the wall, his hands sliding up under your tank top to caress your breasts, you knew that tonight was going to be one for the books.
Your hands fumbled with the buttons on Jeff's jeans, the anticipation building like a storm in your chest. His own hands were busy too, pulling your shorts down over your hips, revealing the lacy panties that you had picked out just for this occasion. His eyes darkened, and you could feel his desire, palpable and raw. "You're so fucking gorgeous," he groaned, his voice thick with lust. You felt a thrill of power, knowing that this rockstar, this legend, wanted you. He kissed you again, deeper this time, his tongue dancing with your as if they were old lovers reuniting after a long absence. The world outside the room ceased to exist, and all that mattered was the heat building between them.
Jeff's hands were everywhere, exploring every inch of your body with a hunger that was both thrilling and overwhelming. He kissed down your neck, his teeth grazing the sensitive skin, leaving a trail of goosebumps in his wake. You could feel his arousal pressing against your leg, and the knowledge that he was just as into this as you were made you wetter than you ever thought possible. "Fuck, Y/N," he murmured against your skin. "I need you." And with that, all pretenses of playing it cool went out the window. You wrapped your legs around him, pulling him closer, grinding against him in a silent plea for more.
The sex was messy and desperate, fueled by alcohol and the thrill of the forbidden. Jeff's tattoos rippled in the dim light as he moved above you, his muscles straining with every thrust. Your nails dug into his back, leaving marks that would surely be there in the morning, a testament to the passion that had consumed them both. The bed creaked beneath them, the headboard banging against the wall in a rhythm that matched the pounding of your heart. It was raw and real, a moment that was somehow both a culmination of the night's events and the beginning of something entirely new. And as Jeff buried his face in the crook of your neck, his breath coming in ragged gasps, you felt a connection that went deeper than the physical. For all the flirting and bravado, there was a tenderness there, a vulnerability that made you feel like you could tell him anything, like you could trust him with heart. But you pushed that thought aside, focusing instead on the feeling of him inside you the way his eyes locked with your as he moved, the way his lips felt against yours as he whispered sweet nothings that seemed to mean everything.
In the quiet aftermath, you lay tangled in the sheets, Jeff's arms around your waist, his chest rising and falling steadily. You couldn't help but wonder what the morning would bring. Would it be awkward? Would it change things? But for now, all you could do was revel in the warmth of his embrace, the stickiness of the sweat on your skin. As sleep began to claim you lulled by the steady beat of Jeff's heart, you couldn't help but feel that maybe, just maybe, you had found something more than a one-night stand. Maybe you had found a memory that would last a lifetime.

Terrance Chapman Submission for @wrixie's Cherry! 🍒
The Basics: -> Human; He/Him -> Straight -> Born, raised, and currently living in Brindleton Bay -> Adult (irl probably like 31 y.o.) -> Single father!
Details below the cut! ↓
Terrance's traits are: Childish, Generous, Dance Machine, Family Oriented, and Ambitious.
-> His current aspiration is: Friend of the World
-> Education: Computer Science degree from Foxbury Institute
-> Career: Level 8 Tech Guru (Start Up Entrepreneur branch, Independent Consultant).
-> Other details: Terrance is the life of the party and the kind of person to make a friend anywhere he goes. He's a pretty great cook, a tech whiz, and quite the charmer! He admittedly can be childish at times, but he always jokes that he's "making up for lost time." Despite having a challenging childhood, he has been an extremely compassionate and involved single father* to his 10 year old daughter Shereé! But between his demanding job and being the primary caregiver to a very loved and spoiled 10 year old, he's had little opportunity to fill the relationship void in his life. He's not getting any younger though, and he feels like he needs to take the time to find love, especially because he wants to expand his family in the future!
-> Random Rapid-Fire Likes: Helping Shereé run her lines/songs/dances for her upcoming performances. The retro/70s aesthetic (the social justice movements, celebrities, music, fashion, decor, and so on). Pops of color in an outfit. Social media. Chips and ceviche or coconut shrimp (can't pick a favorite food between the two). Reading the newspaper and doing the crossword like a little old man (He does his NYT "Wordle" every morning, too). Trying out new recipes (the more complex, the better). Rock climbing. Dressing up. Naps!!
-> Random Rapid-Fire Dislikes: Any kind of "excessive" noise (fireworks, music with a lot of "banging," noisy people, etc.) Getting stuck in traffic. Mayonnaise and most soups for some reason?? The fact that he snores (RIP to whoever shares a room with him... he's tried everything to stop it). Getting paired with someone who doesn't know what they're doing in a multiplayer game mode. People who don't brush their teeth. Toe socks. Snakes!!! (He would say: "Something that can eat you is not a damn pet!")
*Note: Just wanted to add that he has absolutely no issues with his ex, they just didn't work out as a couple. His ex sees Shereé every other weekend, but Shereé has always lived with Terrance full time.
Lastly: here is his confident, talented, adorable daughter with high expectations, a love for gossip, and a big heart...Shereé!
She's lowkey a mini-Terrance with enhanced performance capabilities lol. She wants "to be a superstar" when she grows up and she lovessss dogs (just like Cherry!!!).
Private DL if chosen!

Current Tag Game
Tagged by @colourme-feral in this post – thanks dearie! 💖
Current time: 9:59am (when I started this! it's now much later but I'm not gonna re-write...).
Current activity: Had a work deadline last night so tidying up the aftermath (deleting unwanted files, etc.).
Currently thinking about: How the project submission for work went. Annoyed that I skipped gym this morning just in case there were last minute changes to the project submission and we'd have to re-submit today; but now that's not needed I'm missing legs day. Also thinking about munching on something extra because breakfast was too light (hardboiled eggs, grapes and blueberries – all originally meant as a post-swim snack, re-purposed to become breakfast since gym was canceled). Maybe fry up an omelet and sausages, or grill some salmon? 😋 Or shall I just munch on some creamy Whittaker's milk chocolate since lunch will be soon and anything heavier might spoil it? 🤔
Current favorite song: I don't know if they qualify as favorites, but songs will enter my brainspace and then swirl around in there for a while, refusing to leave. So I'm constantly listening to them (on YouTube, not Spotify; don't have a smartphone) and/or singing along in an effort to exorcise the earworm. At the moment the playlist in my head is:
I Don't Think That I Like Her Anymore (Charlie Puth) Charlie constantly amazes me with his superhuman ability to churn out catchy melodic turns and unusual aural takes on percussion sounds for his backing rhythms (e.g., the light switch in Light Switch). This song continues with his quirky stylings, and I'm loving the pounding bass coming in to frame the heavyweight sock-it-ta-ya message of the song's chorus after the light plaintive vocals of the introductory and intervening verses. The second (melodic) line of the chorus ("Cause they're all the same") is so simple and yet so perfectly fitting after the bold hook of the first line – I find myself asking each time I hear it how could anything else ever fit better? And then it builds and builds to a big finish, at the end of each chorus and also at the end of the song – that key change from B Major to C# Major is quite a genius step, retro yet so fresh. (But still... C sharp? 👀 OK if your electronic thingamajig can auto-transpose but hell on a trad keyboard.) I know this song is from a year ago but I'm not simply wallowing in nostalgia (oh all right, so yes I am a bit) – there is nonetheless a BL connection that first got me hooked on this. The cast of my current fave I Feel You Linger in the Air did their own take on the TikTok Kpop dance challenge of this song (linked here, with other TikToks here) and they're just so cute dancing along. Nonkul attempts a little elbow jab in homage to the original choreo, while Bright gives up after a couple of bars and just goes on doing alternating wrist twirls like those you sometimes see in Southeast Asian dance… 🤣 Alee and Tian seem like they're having fun, as does Attila, but who knew Khun Robert could actually look this good, all goofy and charming when he smiles doing a silly little jig?
youtube
youtube
All I Want for Christmas is You (Mariah Carey) Ever since Ms. Mariah broke her icy containment after Halloween (see this video here 😂) I've been singing along, getting in the mood for carols, fruitcake and Christmas decorations because it reminds me of time spent with (departed) family. Happy because those are happy times worth recalling, but also bittersweet because those loved ones are no longer around.
youtube
youtube
One of Your Girls (Troye Sivan) While I tend to feel a pinch of resentment whenever Aussies of European origin seem to get opportunities in the West more easily than non-white people do, I have to remind myself it's the system and not the talent that is at fault. So credit where credit is due and I'm a fan of what Troye has done with this and his earlier releases (like his video with PP Krit 😃😍). One of Your Girls is just so beautiful and languid as it teases with its message, and consistently Troye is breathtakingly beautiful and languid in the video, teasing us with an offering of the forbidden. I'm feeling things I never thought I would. 😮 The choreography is pretty daring too. (Especially that crotch flare – where did they tuck the dangly bits? I'm wincing as I watch.) Also shout-out to all the different representation with the models. 😍
youtube
Then I'm Gonna Give You Up (Rick Astley) This is Rick Astley spoofing Rick Astley (more explanation linked here) and just so funny. Especially since the original song is already iconic on Tumblr.
youtube
Fast Car (Luke Combs) Another nostalgia trip, this is an absolutely stellar rendition of the already phenomenal original by Tracy Chapman. Almost like Marc Cohn's Walking in Memphis with its sense of urgency and of bottled emotions about to explode, maybe just a shade less of Marc's full-throated growl in Luke's voice, but earthshaking nonetheless. In these 21st century times (and in my corner of the world where BL and queer rep cross my dash all the time) I love that Luke (a married man with a wife and two kids, looking for all we know like the straightest of the hets) didn't change Tracy's line "So I work in the market as a checkout girl", paying homage to the original and smashing at the gender-obsessives everywhere in a quietly powerful way.
youtube
Currently reading: My language study textbooks; not much time for anything else though I do miss having a good work of fiction to keep me company whenever the slate of Thai drama dips in quality.
Currently watching: I Feel You Linger in the Air – a really impressive work, solidly-grounded in its universe with overhanging familial, social and political intrigue that threatens to overshadow (but never really does) the chemistry between Khun Yai and Jom.
I've fallen in hard love with this and just hope that Tee Bundit will display the wisdom associated with his name (for those as linguistically-obsessed as I am, Bundit is the homologue for pundit in English, pandit in Hindi and pendita in Malay) and wrap up the finale with more finesse than he has done on his other shows. (Something tells me though that the sense of foreboding you get while watching IFYLITA is partly due to the dread that Tee is going to rush and stumble through the last bits, leaving viewers less than satisfied with the ending like he did with Lovely Writer, Hidden Agenda and Step by Step.) However this goes, I'm a new fan of Nonkul and Bright's acting, and can't wait to see more of them.
As to what else I'm watching – I'm still trying to finish Only Friends, if only to be able to say that I've finally watched a Jojo show all the way to the end. It's not for me, though it has some moments that shine (like Neo's performance, and all the shirtless scenes) but I struggle to find anything that satisfies on a more cerebral level. I'm not opposed to sensuality and messy drama being foregrounded over more intellectual underpinnings (all hail KinnPorsche) but for me it doesn't go earthy and raw enough to make up for whatever else it doesn't do.
Current favorite character: Pat and Pran from Bad Buddy will always be on this list, but because I'm currently enjoying IFYLITA I'm sure I've been visited by Por Jom, Khun Yai, Khun Ueangphueng, Ba Prik, Ming and Khun James in my dreams lately (and also a certain racing piglet 🤣).
Current WIP: All in my head, but I have a final wrap-up post on Bad Buddy locations percolating, as well as one on the graphics in the show (that give us hints of Pat and Pran's interior worlds).
Tagging names I've seen more than once cross my dash and/or notes:
@neuroticbookworm @airenyah @alexis-mika @belladonna-and-the-sweetpeas @wen-kexing-apologist @twig-tea @pandasmagorica @respectthepetty @dribs-and-drabbles @waitmyturtles @dimplesandfierceeyes @writerwithoutsound @bengiyo @grapejuicegay @lamonnaie @lurkingshan @callipigio @italianpersonwithashippersheart @recentadultburnout @kattahj @theheightofdishonor @fiddlepickdouglas @dc-alves @brazilian-whalien52 @slayerkitty @silvercrystal1 @dudeyuri @ranchthoughts @suni-san @chawarin-panich @lurkingteapot @solitaryandwandering
and anyone else who'd like to play. 😍 Apologies if you've already been tagged; point me to your post if so! And apologies if I've forgotten to mention anyone; if I follow or if you follow me please know you are loved and do play along if you wish! 💖
Also a special tag carved out for the lovely @visualtaehyun as a part-apology; you've tagged me before on a couple of other games and I wrote out about half of my replies – but then work deadlines became urgent and got in the way. Ruefully I had to abandon those posts (especially since they're now weeks out of date). So this is my way of saying thanks for tagging me on those tag games, sorry for not replying, and I hope you'll play along with this one because I love getting to know like-minded people on Tumblr! 💖

Intro dialog for every Guilty Gear character day 2: Elphelt
Sol: A Rockstar now eh, ya like Queen?
El: Whoa, that's super retro, you really know your stuff, wait how old are you again?
Ky: Just so you know, no one back at Illyria castle saw you as any kind of burden.
El: I know, but I needed leave, I have to spread my voice.
May: Hay Elphelt, how are your sisters?
El: They're doing great, how are yours, it's alright if this takes a while.
Axl: You ever lose a person ya love?
El: Kind of, he was also a metal singer, but i'm still not really sure if I loved him or if I was told to love him.
Chipp: A rock star? Well I'm a ninja star.
El: The two of us will shine so bright we'll ignite the sky.
Potemkin: I always wanted to learn music, but I would break any instrument I'd get my hands on.
El: Oh no buddy, I'm sure we can make an instrument tough enough to handle your metal.
Faust: Diagnosis… butterflies… in… stomach.
El: Gross, get them out!
Milia: Not all love stories end in happily ever after I'm afraid.
El: Don't worry Millia you'll find the perfect someone someday.
Zato: Love? Is that what I feel when I'm around, her?
El: By her, do you mean, me!?!
Ram: Speothos Venaticus, hmm maybe we should get you a dog of your own.
El: Yes! Yes! Yes! Then your dog and my dog could be boyfriend and girlfriends, eek!
Leo: The castle has definitely been a lot less noisy since you left.
El: You can't scream your heart out in a place like that without someone else screaming at you to quiet down.
Nago: If you hand me that marriage certificate one more time I'll cut it to shreds.
El: Luckily I have hundreds more, so stop playing hard to get.
Gio: Speothos Venaticus? Met a couple of those where I'm from.
El: YOU DID! Tell me all about them and how they're the cutest, best thing in the world!
Anji: I wouldn't exactly say your music is good to dance too.
El: Oh you have to do a specific kind of dance, I think it's called the mosh.
I-No: Music, I prefer to call whatever you're doing, shit.
El: Well you're not very radio friendly.
Goldlewis: Never been much of a fan of metal, ya like county?
El: Nope :) But that's ok we all can like the music we like.
Jack-O: Just took Soooool on a really sappy daaaate.
El: Well don't hold out on me, let me hear all the juicy details.
HC: I've never heard anything like your music before, gotta say I'm a fan.
El: REALLY! If you sign here you can join my fanclub, it currently only has 4 members so seats are open!
Baiken: You're too loud I can barely hear myself think.
El: Oh sorry I'll try to play my new song “The Demons Deadly Wedding from Hell” a little quieter.
Testament: You were almost pupited to kill those you love… I'm happy you managed to avoid that fate.
El: Kliff… I know he loved you more than anything, even after you became a gear.
Bridget: I've heard about a secret energy called “Girl Power” can you teach me how to harness it?
El: My first decipl! I'll teach you everything I know!
Sin: So you decided to leave the castle and march to the beat of your own drum, I can respect that.
El: I'm marching alright and nothing's gonna slow me down, unless I trip.
Delilah: Would you mind quieting down? I'm trying to sleep.
El: I could sing you a death metal lullaby if you want.
Asuka R#: Just to warn you I am an artificial lifeform, but I am nothing like the Universal Will.
El: Just don't force people to do stuff they don't want to do and I guess you're fine.
Asuka R Kreutz: Any advice on being more entertaining for my podcast.
El: It's your lucky day cause you're talking to a girl who's listener count has doubled to 18, we'll get you your fans in no time.
Johnny: Love songs eh, ya got one for me?
El: Of course, and soon I'll have a song for every person on this planet.
ABA: Maybe one day you'll have half my charm and you can get a man half as good as Paracelsus.
El: Ahh thanks ABA, that's really sweet :)

Come tae the Barrowland tonight
Come tae the Barrowland tonight
Swing yer maw, swing yer paw, swing yer granny up the wa
Come tae the Barrowland tonight!
Cuppa: an exquisite builder's tea with two sugars
View: the retro interior of Guido's Coronation Café on Gallowgate, Glasgow.
I don't go into the city as much as I used to, as I've changed jobs. It's nice to have a reason to come intae toon on a sunny evening, and this Friday I had the best of reasons.
The Barrowland Ballroom was just that, a popular dancing spot until it burned down in the 50s and was rebuilt in the swinging 60s. The perfect place to spend a night at the dancing, and maybe find a cute boy to walk you home. Now that ballroom dancing isn't so much the thing, the Barrowland has become a world famous music venue.
Warning: flashing lights
youtube
When they started this way, I knew which song they were going to lead with! If you want to hear the rest, here's the lockdown version (there's a studio version and an official video too, I just like that one!)
I am a huge fan of Tide Lines. The man above has the voice of a burly Gaelic angel. And this guy here is a wizard on a different set of pipes:
youtube
We even got a wee cover of another act that famously played here:
youtube
It was a wonderful night. Especially the moment that Robert Robertson forgot his own lyrics, while the crowd confidently went on singing. Maybe we should hold up prompt cards.
I'll leave you with a couple of Glasgow's famous murals, on the Barrowland itself, and on the Winged Ox pub at St. Luke's, another excellent music venue just along the street.

Today's compilation:
Boom 2001 2001 Pop / Latin Pop / Adult Contemporary / Europop / Dance-Pop / R&B
Man, I feel like I haven't done one of these super ridiculous turn-of-the-millennium Now That's What I Call Music!-type Euro comps in a very long and hot minute. And I really do tend to love these things for a few different reasons: one, you get a nice nostalgia rush with a bunch of good and fun hits from yesteryear that were popular on a global scale; two, you get to learn what another part of the world was rocking to in addition to all those global hits; and three, because pop industries all across Europe can't seem to ever help themselves, you also get some of the most mindlessly schlocky and cringiest trash imaginable 🤩. And fortunately, for better or worse, this end-of-2001 dispatch from Spain's then-long-running Boom series manages to pack all of that in here.
youtube
So, ultimately, what we have with this release is a pair of discs. One consists of songs that are sung entirely in English—except for an inexplicably lacking, instrumental version of *NSYNC's "Pop"?!—and the other one is fully in Spanish.
And disc one, naturally, contains all the classic bops that were both popular in Spain and elsewhere. With a bunch of these, you basically have what amounts to some of the most essential items for a totally killer 2001 pop playlist. There's Kylie Minogue's brilliant "Can't Get You Out of My Head;" Gorillaz' idyllically summery Soulchild remix of "19-2000," which actually features none other than the Talking Heads' own Tina Weymouth on backing vocals; Janet Jackson's "All for You," which samples the Italo-disco, Luther Vandross-led classic, "The Glow of Love" by Change, that was also sampled around the same time by duo Phats & Small for their own house banger, "Turn Around;" and Daft Punk's never-going-out-of-style "One More Time." Just pure, lovely early aughts heat in every single one of those 🔥.
But then there's the rest of this thing, which happens to come with a couple of those very distinct and personally sought after "what in the fuck am I actually listening to right now?"-type moments. One of these is a contemporary Eurodisco tune from some entity named Fundación Tony Manero called "Super Sexy Girl." Just peep some of the elite and super nuanced songwriting that went into making this total masterpiece:
Yup! I mean, how terrific is that? Isn't it amazing that someone would take the time to record something like this and then have a big label push it out and then have it included on a comp like this too? Just phenomenal work all around by everyone involved as far as I'm concerned. If your hand touched this specimen in any way, I would just like to personally say, from the bottom of my heart, thank you 🙏🥹.
And then for another healthy dose of unbelievable crap, we have—yep, you totally guessed it!—a Spanish-language cover of Billy Ray Cyrus' mega-country hit, "Achy Breaky Heart," delivered by a Mexican singer named Coyote Dax. Now, if you thought the world had left "Achy Breaky" behind and in the dust all the way back in 1992, I just don't think you understand, because this beast went all the way to the motherfuckin' top in Spain almost a whole decade later. Can't say I was expecting to hear anything quite like this on this album in particular, so, once again, the only thing I can say is that I'm forever grateful for it 🙏.
But folks, not all of the rest of this thing is bad. There's a genuinely interesting song from some band called Shivaree who are one of those groups who never achieved any real success at home in the US, but still managed to chart on the other side of the Atlantic. And I don't know if "Goodnight Moon" is fully representative of their sound, but it *kinda* sounds like if a young Britney Spears had been given some made-for-Amy-Winehouse, retro country-gothic-type music to sing over; especially when frontwoman Ambrosia Parsley gets to morphing her voice into something distinctly sweeter. And if you've seen a specific pair of episodes of Dawson's Creek, then you've definitely heard this song before too.
And lastly, I guess I never actually knew that this existed in the first place, but there's a Spanish-language version of J. Lo's "Ain't It Funny" on here; not the much more popular remix with Ja Rule that sampled Craig Mack's "Flava in Ya Ear," but the much less remembered and completely different original version. If you like that one, then you'll probably enjoy it in a different tongue too as "Que ironía." Well-made, catchy Latin pop.
So, really glad that I got what I came for with this. A pretty excellent trip down memory lane, an education on some other stuff that hit big in Spain like that Shivaree song, and then some truly atrocious, can't-turn-it-off-like-I-can't-look-away-from-a-car-accident wonders 😍. Five outta five on the 'Boom Meter' indeed.

The Mood of Humanz
And here’s the other Gorillaz album I’ve listened to the most. Same deal as the last one, just sort of felt like… talking about how each song makes me feel. Uh I didn’t include the interludes, since they’re just interludes. I also didn’t include any of the Super Deluxe tracks since I’ve only heard most of those once (except Garage Palace which is awesome) and wouldn’t have a ton to say. Read it or don’t, it’s fine with me.
1: Ascension: The beginning of a climactic party or protest concert. Here to hype you the hell up and make you excited and angry and happy.
2: Strobelite: You walked into a party that’s somehow chill and absolutely bumping at the same time. People are friendly and non-judgmental and the dance floor is open and there’s plenty to eat and drink.
3: Saturnz Barz: Feels like a cool, space themed retro video game that was made by someone from a different country that had an incredibly hard life. You don’t know what they’ve gone through from your place of privilege but you respect the hell out of them and what they’ve managed to do.
4: Momentz: Feels like you met a guy who’s way cooler than you to dance and hang around with at a party. He tells you about a one night stand with a girl, but by the end of the night you feel like he’s actually pretty sad and lonely.
5: Submission: This is a weird one, bear with me. This one feels like you’re in a poly relationship with a girl and a guy. You’re constantly depressed out of nowhere. Your girlfriend is sweet and patient and constantly there to support you, and she’s getting worried about your mental health. The guy doesn’t input much, maybe because he’s busy or he has his own demons, until one night when he just snaps and rants at you about how he can’t come to your pity party every day and you need to do something to help yourself. They’re both helpful and unhelpful in their own way.
6: Charger: This one is another tricky one. I think a YouTube comment I found about it sounding like a scene where a supervillain gets their powers describes it better than I ever could. It definitely sounds dark and menacing, but in, like, an awesome way.
7: Andromeda: Not a whole lot to say about this one. Feels like a big dance around a huge neon planet, maybe with some stars on the ceiling. Definitely a sort of “big finale” feeling to a party, or like the biggest budget dance event.
8: Busted and Blue: This one is easy. A bad depressive episode. Like, lay on your floor and stare at the ceiling while wishing you weren’t born, depressed. Feeling like a waste of skin, an irredeemable piece of scum depressed. Your loved ones secretly hate you and have hated you for years, depressed.
9: Carnival: Feels like a scary and kind of intentionally grotesque theme park. There’s stuff to do and games to play, but the guests around you seem nervous and the entertainers are way too into their job, or keep mumbling about how the system is manipulating you.
10: Let Me Out: Things are bad and they’ve gotten worse. They need to change or there won’t be a future for anyone. Some people are screwed just because they’re not part of the ruling race. It ain’t getting better, but you shouldn’t give up.
11: Sex Murder Party: Feels like the middle of a party (duh) but you spot a really ugly argument going on between a couple. One of them is sky high and acting reckless and the other is sitting in the corner, seething. They might do something crazy. You should probably go somewhere else.
12: She’s My Collar: A snapshot of a really sexually satisfying but unhealthy relationship. It’s not good for you, but it’s what you need right now, so you keep your mouth shut and enjoy it.
13: Hallelujah Money: A rich person you really don’t like is on tv somewhere in public, so you can’t turn the tv off. They’re bragging about another accomplishment they don’t deserve, and you have to listen to them. This song is kind of like peeling back the mask and showing exactly what kind of greed and arrogance this person is vomiting out without the veneer of kindness.
14: We Got The Power: A pretty simple motivational song. Feels sort of artificial, which may or may not be the point.
15: The Apprentice: Kind of like watching someone you used to like become cruel and incredibly pompous when they’re offered a fat paycheck. Reminds me of trash streamers.
16: Halfway to The Halfway House: Feels like a splitting headache that suddenly hits you in the middle of a party, so you have to lay down somewhere and ride it out while you watch people around you have fun and get wasted.
17: Out of Body: You’re not really fitting in at the party, until you find a girl that persuades you to try something different and kinda crazy. Drugs? A real satanic ritual? She’s nice and talks you through it but why are her eyes glowing? You have an incredible time, but she disappears after everything is over.
18: Ticker Tape: Getting home from a party and relaxing by yourself. You don’t feel amazing, but you’re content at least. It’s getting cold so you can see your breath on the way home. Peaceful.
19: Circle of Friendz: Throwing empty beer bottles at a brick wall while you and your friends sit around and do nothing. You guys have been friends for ages and can spend time together and get nothing interesting done and still be satisfying. It’s a waste of time, but a pleasant one.

What got you into motley crue?
oh that's a fun and long and convoluted story, actually!
back in 2017, I got really into glam metal by buying a Twisted Sister album (Best of the Atlantic Years) on sale. Then, when Fall Out Boy released their album Mania in 2018, one of the verses in the song "Young and Menace" mentioning Nikki Sixx intrigued me and kinda stuck with me for a while. This one:
"And I've lived so much life, lived so much life
I think that God is gonna have to kill me twice
Kill me twice like my name was Nikki Sixx"
youtube
That didn't quite lead me to Mötley Crüe just yet tho!
First, I got more into retro synthwave songs (imo a natural progression from my appreciation of vaporwave and futurefunk and my slowly developing obsession with everything 80s that had been brewing for a couple years at that point), a classmate got me more into hardrock and metal, which reignited my love for Iron Maiden on the side, I then discovered darker/heavier synthwave, which led me to the DANCE WITH THE DEAD remix of Master of Puppets
youtube
which then led me to their remix of Kickstart My Heart (my very first brush with a Mötley Crüe song <3)
youtube
But that wasn't it either, not there yet by a long shot!
Then it took another 2-ish years and my budding Metalocalypse obsession inbetween for me to stumble upon a Mötley Crüe x Male Reader comfort fanfic (yes, sometimes I just look for nice x reader comfort stories for my mental health, don't question it) that really got me into the band! It was "No Chicken or Soup" by NewBikeWithThePlateReadThe666 on AO3!
At first I couldn't really visualise all 4 of them, had a hard time telling Nikki, Tommy and Mick apart. Then I told myself I need to gather more knowledge about them, clued into the fact I already kinda knew one of their songs through the remix I mentioned above, started my insane photo collection, listened to more of their songs, bought the only available album at my local electronics store, and the rest is history 😂👌

Two random questions!!
1. Feelings on 2ne1’s “I Love You”? I think it’s in the vein of love island pop you’ve been talking about!!
2. Favorite song from Somi’s new mini album? I’ve been so happy bc there are some awesome dance songs in the bsides too !!!
I am actually so uneducated on 2nd gen kpop its crazy - like i love snsd, shinee, and f(x) but in terms of literally everyone else i am so clueless, so i loveeee recs for 2nd gen!!
I have actually never heard 'I love you' by 2ne1 before today, but from first impressions, i think its a really cool song. it places a lot of emphasis in the prechoruses and the verses just as much as the chorus, which is very unexpected as a lot of modern kpop songs are quite top heavy in that the chorus is the only attention grabbing part. I really like that, and the melodies are super timeless too. the production is really cool too - ive been thinking a lot about how repetitive the retro trend was a couple years ago, and how everyone just used the weeknd's synth sample pack and called it a day, but this song is honestly more 80s than pretty much anything else ive heard in kpop.
for it being in my dumbass 'love island pop' genre, im not actually sure. I think a lot of the elements are there, like fun but not overcomplicated vocal melodies, repeated lyric motifs, synths with rising tension, but i think the crux of why i dont think its love island pop is because imo its more 80s synthpop than 00s/10s EDM/house. And its funny bc i can see exactly where ive been misleading lol. Somi's 'fast forward' does absolutely have retro influences, but what i think makes it love island pop is the chorus referencing the EDM songs that the USA had stopped doing half a decade ago. I'll deffo do a playlist post and define this genre properly lol
ANYWAY, for what my favourite song on somi's new mini album. I really dont like 'gold gold gold', i just KNOW teddy pulled this one out of the rejected lisa solos hard-drive. Its just so unredeemable? Obviously I love 'fast forward', which is apparently a hot take, but genuinely i cant get enough of this song, there is not a dull moment ITS SO GOOD. 'Fxxked' is honestly quite love island pop too, its a super fun song, it fits somi so well. 'pisces' is like 'sour grapes' 2.0, its enjoyable, but a little bit less exciting in comparison to the other tracks. 'The way' is a through-and-through kpop retro song with a somi edge, its very fun. I still think 'fast forward' is my favourite off of the album, but 'The way' is probably my fave b-side, with 'fxxked' being a close contender.
#yeah i didnt realise how long this answer was getting#im very passionate about love island pop ok lmao#somi#fast forward#somi game plan#2ne1#i love you 2ne1#kpop#kpop girls#kpop gg#80s synthpop#edm#love island pop#2nd gen kpop

Top 5 Non-English ESC23 songs
Eurovision is just a couple weeks away so let’s talk about different entries this year!
Nine songs that are completely not in English are competing this year at the Eurovision. I ranked my top 5 below.
5. SPAIN - Blanca Paloma: Eaea
No one can deny her talent. Her presence and interpretation is captivating, almost hypnotic. This is dramatic, load, theatrical, this is art, this has a soul, authencity. I’m a big fan of her live peformance which I hope will make Europe vote for her. However, after all these weeks I still haven’t downloaded this to any of my ESC playlists which make me scared that this might the most painful flops of ESC23.
4. SLOVENIA - Joker Out: Carpe Diem
This is fun! Catchy and the music video is well fitting of the spirit of the song. You don’t need to understand the language or the lyrics to dance to this one. There’s a true disco, retro beat here I enjoy. I hope they’ll get the staging right for this one in Liverpool.
3. FRANCE - La Zarra: Évidemment
This didn’t knock me out at first listen to be honest. But it has grown on me. It has a nice structure, that builds up nicely and in my opinion could have gone even higher, more edgier. I like the beginning of French chanson which then turns into a this groovy pop tune. I kind of expected a revamp but this definitely the direction France needs to go. Well produced, professionally performed and character owned songs!
2. ITALY - Marco Mengoni: Due Vite
Each year I vote for Italy. Even when I think I don’t like them. Every year the songs grow. I cannot resist the quality, emotion, professionalism, talent that has gone into these Italian tunes. A lot of people say that we don’t need another Italian ballad this year but when it’s this good... there’s always room for one more.
Marco Mengoni is no stranger to Eurovision as represented Italy already a decade ago in Malmö.
1. FINLAND - Käärijä: Cha Cha Cha
Maybe I’m a bit bias as a Finn but even if I wasn’t... this is good and even though I wouldn’t find my cup of tea no one can deny the effect and reaction this song will surely cause in the viewer. Either it’s hate or love people will feel Cha Cha Cha will leave no one cold. The agressive cocktail of multiple genres (rap, pop, rock sounds and effects) will reach out majority of Europeans’ tastes. We’re potentially talking about a winner of Eurovision 2023 and for sure the best Finnish result since Lordi in 2006.
What do you think about the Non-English tracks competing ESC this year? What’s your favourite??

Here’s something to listen to while we save our beloved show. When I started watching Lockwood & Co I decided to make a playlist and thought I’d share it. These are songs that remind of Lockwood and Lucy and here’s my explanation for each song. I’ll try to keep it short but here’s some things to think about while listening to each song to think about Lockwood and Lucy. I try to keep the same vibe of the show with the songs but some just match the characters and not the overall theme of the show. Plssss comment what you personally think when you heard the songs and let me know if there are any songs that you think match locklyle or the retro vibe of the show. I hope you enjoy! 😊
Before you-Benson Boone: this can easily be any couple’s song but I think it would especially be Locklyle’s. The chorus also talks about taking each other’s hand, dark brown eyes, and smiling under stars which is just perfect for them.
Until I found you-Stephen Sanchez: I know everyone has probably heard this all over social media but I heard this in a locklyle YouTube edit and thought it was great. It also gives a retro vibe that the show gives off (in my opinion) I can just imagine them dancing to this.
It’s been a long long time-Harry James: everyone knows this from the ending of Endgame. Just like it was Steve and Peggy’s song to dance to I think Lucy and Lockwood would definitely dance to this or just casually play it on a cassette tape or record to listen to together while cleaning 35 Portland Row or just dancing together
I love you so-the walters: this makes me think of Lucy leaving Lockwood behind later on in the books from Lucy’s POV. It also kinda gives me the same vibe as the show.
Party Fears Two-the associates: this is the song that played during the Fittes Ball scene in the show and I could not get it out of my head so I thought I’d add it here.
Anti-Hero-Taylor Swift: Again another very popular song but the lyrics fit kind of all of Lockwood & Co and not just Locklyle. Like I feel like they would sing and quote this song every time they annoyed Kipps and Barnes. I just think it matches the vibe of the show and the characters
Bejeweled-Taylor Swift: another TS song that everyone knows and loves and I think that if there was an alternate Fittes Ball song especially for Lucy then this would be it. I think it fits that vibe pretty well for the ball. Especially when the salt sprinklers go off ✨👌✨
Hold Her While You Can-Stephen Sanchez: doesn’t exactly fit the vibe but it reminds me of Lockwood and when Lucy leaves/returns.
Make you mine-PUBLIC: doesn’t fit the vibe but the part where they say “put your hand in mine you know that I want to be with all the time” just fits them sooo well
Hello My old heart-The Oh Hellos: heard this in a locklyle edit and couldn’t get it out of my head. I think it matches them so well and somewhat matches the vibe of the show
Notion-the rare occasions: the lyrics definitely don’t match but I added it cause I thought it might match the vibe and I really wanted more songs to match the vibe of the show.
Dancing with your ghost-Sasha Alex Sloan: I think it’s self explanatory in the title lol but this reminds me of when Lucy leaves Lockwood and I think about the song in Lockwood’s POV. (Also can someone plssss make an edit of them with this song)
Accidentally in love-counting crows: by no means matches the show 😂but I think “accidentally in love” is how I’d describe Locklyle. I also just imagine Lucy and Lockwood playing this for fun to sing to.
Mary on a cross-ghost: my friends were surprised to see this song on the list but I explained that I saw an edit of locklyle with this song and I think the chorus is sweet and kinda goes with the couple. Otherwise it doesn’t match them or the show at all.
Buttercup-Jack Stauber: I think this could match the vibe. It’s kinda similar to Notion but u think these lyrics could actually match Locklyle a little.
Riptide-Vance Joy: lyrics definitely don’t match but I think this song could match the vibe.
London Boy-Taylor Swift: this just makes me think of them. Like it doesn’t entirely match the vibe. Not really but I think it would be something cute that Lucy would sing about loving a London boy (lockwood) even tho she isn’t American lol
And that’s it again pls let me know what you personally think of these songs and plsss let me know if you think of others that remind you of Locklyle or give off the retro vibe of the show.

EXURSIONS - C418 -
This is such an amazing album for a lot of reasons, it’s outerworldly soundscapes or it’s blood pumping synthesis, it has something for the old school Minecraft fans and the recent fans of c418
First off the title track, a lush soundscape of twinkeling harmonies and something that calls back to volume alpha.
Cold summer picks up the pace, featuring a sinewave arpeggio that drones throughout and a thumpy bass drum really reminding you that the world of this album isn’t without dance music, this only foreshadows of what to come.
Txl reminds me of a sci fi Buddha giving life to many, it’s retro synths create a minimalistic but soothing atmosphere.
Tingle is the first heavy song on the album with a strong sub bass throughout and a pulsating rhythm interspersed with electric guitar and crackles of the outside to round this off as a first look into this albums better songs.
Beton was the first song created for this album, and it is amazing, opening with a calming set of reverb filled synth lines which then abruptly change into dancefloor shaking sawtooth synths that are sure to get your head moving, this cuts back into a slower section before building back up with vocal chops and a true c418 synth line, this song is really good.
Ams is a well deserved break after the electro jungle of beton it sports a solo piano playing something out of volume alpha, it’s soul transporting you away into a dream or wherever you feel like, it’s a track for the soul as it prepares you for c418s opera
Thunderbird is the Magnum opus of this record, a slow start soon builds intensity untill the kicks of beton Greet you to a genius baseline and chord stabs which are sure to send you into electro heaven, the track continued to build before cutting off with a reverb filled exit as Ams piano fades in but you barely get time to soak it in before the riser begins and you are thrust down the rabbit hole and into the land of hard baselines and pure banger before slowly breaking away, it’s 13 minute run time served it’s purpose.
Aviva is just ama with more bass, not much to say other than poggers.
Figure 8 starts slowly, strings guiding you to the eventual best drop and oh boy does this drop this fucking DROPS and before you know it you are in the land where no treble exists, just bass, and that is perfect. After synth is added back in the sound is full again before a cold summer like sound takes over the sound starts to build before drop 2 electric boogaloo, and it’s pretty good.
Fake triplets is a time only in triplets, c418 saw a crotchet and told it to fuck off. The bass drop is like figure 8 but more tron esc, with undeniably catchy synth riffs and a bit of handspan just so you remember who you are listening to. It does this a couple more times but to be holes I get lost.
Nest is like taking a microphone and holding it up to Daniel rosenfeilds Brian, chaotic electronic and catchy
Home is a desolate soundscape of concrete mscheinery which dominate the musical landscape
Atx got its name from the airport, and it’s music did too, with rhythm and noise coming from everywhere before slowly slowing down as the airport in your mind closes.
Leak starts slow, but with a small swelling synth building up untill BOOM the bass kicks in and so does your heart, the blood flowing like the lead of the song, never letting go of the hold of the song this song never lets up, and with its voltage inspired leads I wouldn’t even want it too. It finally slows to open the gate to my favourite song on the record
The president is dead opens with distorted vocals before a synth line begins caked in space, it is a street through the soundscape before the riser leads you in to the first drop of delay and goodness before the three cymbal hit and bam the stereo feild opens up into a space filled with stars and planets before the bass line returns like a warning tone on a ship or some sort of dubstep ringtone. Before the three cymbal hit crashes you doen to earth as you settle back from your musical voyage, but only halfway through ofcourse, the three cymbals open you up to a deep and strange like expanse of sound where not even god can save you, before building up into something incredible, and then dying down into a thumpy bass line
Hope is a quiet subdue ending, that sends you drifting the ocean of data and a stary sky of led bulbs, a fitting end to an amazing album
9.5/10
Fav - The president is dead
Best song - Thunderbird
C418 has created a album for the ages and such a beautiful soundscape. Bravo.
