Im in love with how the hearts are represented by nether stars,, its just one really cool to think of, instead of it being some modded in thing.

Like do you think the lifesteal members ever look at the night sky and think its alive? The night sky so full of lives, shining and shimmering just out of reach. Do they stare at the nightsky with greed, those with less hearts, do they stare with envy?

Do they ever kill the wither and think how remarkably similar they are to hearts? Holding the nether star close, like it might give them a life back. Do they identify witht he wither, they also drop those same stars when they die after all?

And then, how does it feel to hold a star/life. Does it burn like a real star? Is it freezing cold? Does it thump in rhythms or pulse with light? We are all made of star dust after all, the lifesteal members are just more star than most.

In light of the recent announcement of the Harry Potter TV Show and the fact that this is primarily a Harry Potter fan fiction blog, the below needs to be said.

I am not excited about this show.

If you told my past self 5 years ago this, I’d be shocked.  Five years ago, if they announced a Harry Potter TV show I’d be doing everything in my power to be involved some way or another.  However, in the last five years JKR has shown her true colors and spent her free time and money attacking the trans community.  There are many reasons why I’m not excited about the show or looking forward to it in any regard, but to me the most important is that this show gives JKR more money and cultural capital to further her anti-trans agenda.  This is unacceptable.

I think a lot of us raised on Harry Potter really wanted to separate the art from the artist, dive further into fanfic and fandom and just ignore that the woman who created a world in which we’ve spent most of our lives escaping into.  However, we can’t do that.  It’s come to my attention over the past few days that a lot of people aren’t even aware of the active harm JKR is doing to the trans community.  Most people just say, ‘oh she said some weird stuff on twitter’ right?

Well, yeah.  But, did you also know she launched an active campaign against a reform bill that made it easier for trans people to legally change gender?  You know what happened?  The UK blocked that Bill and Scotland now has to launch a legal challenge to the government block.  She’s also funding a Sex Abuse Crisis Center that excludes trans women.  Yeah, that’s right.  She’s using her money from a book about love and acceptance to actively exclude a marginalized group from a crisis center.  She’s also publicly admitted via twitter that she funds anti-LGBTQ political activity in the UK.

So yeah, there’s a direct line of fans supporting official trademarked Harry Potter anything and that money directly harming transpeople.  Sorry for that rude awakening, but some of y’all are doing backflips to avoid seeing this.

Now, is there a way to prevent Warner Brothers (and Max, lol) from making this show?  Probably not?  After mergers and at a point when the tv and film industry isn’t booming, they need money.  You know what makes money?  Harry Potter.  Which is why they’re rebooting it.  Another question that’s been raised, will the looming writer’s strike affect this?  I would guess probably not?  Most UK writers (and International writers at large) are not in the WGA.  JKR has always wanted the most amount of British people involved in Harry Potter adaptations, so they’ll use the strike to find a UK writer and get them to work.

So what can we do?

Don’t watch the show.  Or, if you do.  Pirate it. In fact, cancel your Max subscription before the show launches.

They’re going to spend A LOT of money on this.  If the numbers aren’t there for them they will do what every other streamer does with an unsuccessful show and cancel it.  They announced 5 Fantastic Beast movies, and yet...where’s that last one?

I've noticed with tumblr a lot of people on tumblr either hate lesbians/bi women especially if they don't center men/male characters in their lives or they are a lesbian but an extreme radfem one

I have seen and experienced the lesbophobia here, on twitter not so much but only because 90% of my mutuals are lesbians too lol

When I go on about how the phrase "reading comprehension" has damaged the way we argue on here I seriously mean it. Like I've run into situations where I could have used the phrase and everytime it is weaker and less rhetorically impactful to what I would do instead. The alternative is so much better but no one really wants to do it because it's basically the rhetorical equivalent of showing your work on a math problem.

Because when you write a misreading off as "bad reading comprehension" you miss up the golden opportunity to really pick apart that thought process. "Reading Comprehension" makes fun of someone for "not understanding the words I've written" which can be a legitimate criticism but when you default to it what your saying is "I shouldn't have to put the effort into defending/explaining my words because your too dumb to understand"

The greatest example I've personally run into was in an argument a couple months back I had on here. It was with some TransUnity boy starting shit in the transmisogyny tag by insulting the maturity people who get into arguments about intra-community issues ie: "infighting". (Which as we all know telling a large portion of your community that they're a bunch of whiny separatist babies for having problems in the first place definitely isn't infighting at all.) With a healthy sprinkle of "pays token mention to the idea of a transmisogynistic transmasc purely for the optics of being perceived as on both sides but when discussing examples of "infighting" only provides strawman versions of transfeminist talking points. And needless to say

Well in this argument he decides to pull the old classic of pulling up my bio to see if there's anything he can use to make a quick jab at me personally without engaging with anything I'm saying. Now in my bio there's the line "Crazy hysterical bitch making mountains out of mole hills in your discourse".

This line is to anyone following me in clear reference to the countless times where someone losing in an argument to me will invoke the image of the "hysterical feminist" as they proceed to disengage from anything I'm saying and dismiss me as being over obsessive for attempting to challenge them on their transmisogyny in the first place. I have quite literally unironically called hysterical on more than one occasion on this site. It's a sorta beating them to the punch style line to highlight their unoriginality.

And this slimy little weasel references the line and goes on to say he agrees with it. Notice the way I said he did that? He WANTED to just say all those insults at me outright but knew that they were highly ableist and this would be bad optics. So he dances around the words themselves but still states that he agreed with the sentiment that I am a hysterical bitch making a mountain out of a molehill in his discourse.

And when I press him on this he reveals he thought that I had put it up there as a brag. That this was an aspect of my personality that I was personally proud to display on my blog. He essentially thought of me as one of those people who love conflict and view "being an insufferable person to be around" as a positive personality trait.

Now this is the point where it would be SO easy to just pull out the old "READIN COMPREHENSHUN" but that would be like using the loaded gun this chud has handed me and firing a warning shot before sending him on his way. No I fully went into this thought process and how it highlighted his misogynistic biases of viewing transfeminists as a clique of Highschool MeanGirls who sow discord because they're naturally unlikable bitchy people.

His response? Blocked. Post DELETED. 0 note vaugeposting about how he HAD to delete his "no discourse" post because "assholes brought discourse to it". Like people go on about how "arguing is pointless because there's no way you can "win" an argument" severely underestimate how bad someone can be at arguing.
