Taomasa would nod. “Onward then.” Moving forwards, he would continue along the path he’d had before hand. He didn’t talk much along the walk, mostly just keeping note on where their target for hunting was, and adjusting course accordingly. Taking Juro a good distance into the larger prey’s territory, and making his way up a large elevation. “Alright~ Once we get to the top of this climb, it will most likely notice us. So, be prepared. Seeing as we are smaller, it will see us as prey. And will charge us the moment it notices us.”
Juro rather enjoyed the silence. The forest around them and the sounds of life it offered. Right now, this brought him the most peace. He was confident that they would take down this giant bird and feast well tonight, and for that, he was somewhat excited, especially because he’d never spent time like this with his uncle much before. As they began to climb, reaching higher and higher, Juro began to grow more weary of his surroundings, simply to perfect his stealth. “That’s quite ironic,” Juro said, with a small smirk on his lips. It would be quite the turn of events, if the bird were to try to eat them, when in fact the plan was to have it for dinner.

With a shrug of her shoulders she began to walk deeper into the forest. The tress began to get closer together and blocking out the sun. “Well if you think about it. How do hollows get stronger?” She weaved throw the thick tree trunks around them. “They eat souls, but!” The dark haired girl wrapped her tail around one of the trees and began to spin around it. “If they eat each other~ Then there is less competition making the hollow that eats the most the strongest. What do you think Ryuu eats around here? He has been eating hollows for years now.” Letting go of the tree she giggled.
“Brother…eating each other is only in our nature. The prince will fall~” Stopping in her tracks she turned around and held out her arms. “And you will be the king, Tsubasa~” Taking a few steps back the trees opened up a bit to revile a cave. “Now come~” Inside of the cave there were claw marks and blood splattered everywhere. The bottom of the cave was wet from fresh blood. Going deeper into the cave a big opening was up ahead. In this opening there was a heart shaped bed. Above that was a huge syringe with pink liquid in it.
“Come~ Welcome to my home!” With a giggle she twirled around. Falling onto the bed she looked up at the syringe. “Hmm…Oh yes! Our plan!” Sitting up she slapped her forehead. “Silly me~ We need a play thing to play Ruby~”
Tsubasa had known all of that already. Perhaps the thought had never occurred to him before because he hated the worthless bastard so much. His hate for him lead Tsubasa to feel as though his soul would be distasteful. However, when he began to put thought into it now because of Hisano, perhaps the idea wasn’t so bad. Yet, Tsubasa wasn’t stupid. He still felt he needed to be cautious of Hisano. If this was her plan, than she could be plotting the same for him as well. So, he’d follow her, but watching her closely.
Being a King wasn’t something the hollow thought fondly of. Way too much responsibility, and if anyone was going to be King, it meant that they had to care about certain things, and Tsubasa didn’t want obligations like that ruining his life. He’d rather be free to do what he wanted, when he wanted. As they approached the entrance in the oversized rock formations, Tsubasa began to smell blood, and his hunger grew. Licking his lips, he kept his eyes peeled, hungrily observing the blood that surrounded them. How wasteful, but so pretty just the same.
“What’s this supposed to be,” he asked, scrutinizing the bed oddly placed in this cave. What was the huge syringe above the bed? He kept at a distance, “I’m all for killing Ryuu and taking his power, but don’t think I’m going to turn into some kind of King.”

Ryuu was having a hard time actually telling her. He could have just played it off as nothing, but he knew she wouldn’t by that. Going silent he was thinking of a way of telling her. It was hard to even think about it, because it actually scared him. Surprising something actually scared him. To him it was pathetic that this scared him, but it only was, because he wasn’t ready for it yet. The white stag opened his mouth to say something, but it was covered by someone else’s hand. Another hand wrapped itself around his neck.
Behind him the black haired male showed himself with a small smile on his face. “Shhh….No need to tell her yourself.” The black stag pushed Ryuu out of the way. “You shouldn’t worry about Ruby.” Dez sat down on the bed and looked up at the ceiling. “You should worry that you are going to be the only parent…well that is if they don’t get to you either. Well what I am trying to say is that the great prince Ryuu Shirosake will die to the one and only Hisano. The one our father always wanted, because Ryuu you knew you would never be a king.” Dez began to laugh. “The hunter becomes the hunted~”
Sitting on the floor, Ryuu began to get irritated at Dez. This wasn’t how he wanted to tell her that he was going to get killed. “Dez….Shut the fuck up! Shut up! I’m so fucking sick of your shit!” Getting up the white stag grabbed Dez’s shirt and forced him to stand up. “Your going to die as well fucking idiot! Y-you don’t care though….” Letting go of him he let out a sigh. “You have been waiting for this day forever…”
A surprised gasp briskly escaped Narelle when the sudden hand came over Ryuu’s mouth, and forced him to be silent. When she then heard Dez speak, her lips pursed and she’d frown, brow furrowed. Of course it was him. Always poking in at the most inconvenient times and causing trouble. She would fold her arms in front of her, her weight shifted to one side of her body. “Why would Hisano want to hurt him!? He’s her father! Tsubasa never tried to hurt Ryuu, so why would Hisano be any different!?” Narelle was furious. Was this some huge plot she knew nothing about? Or perhaps Dez was just trying to stir trouble and worry her. This was ludicrous!
“Knock it off, Dez! You’re wrong. Ryuu won’t die. Juro and Ruby would surely be heartbroken and I...” Narelle stopped, and sighed heavily, her gaze turning elsewhere quickly, frown still eminent. “You’re just wrong. I won’t let this happen. It’s wrong,” she said.

A Month with Mother
Starring deep into the flames the light that came from the fire bounced off her ruby red eyes. The blonde went silent for a while before snapping out of it. “I’ve always viewed the flames as being destructive. Killing life very easily.” Spreading her wings open allowing them to stretch out, feathers began to fly everywhere in the cave. Sticking her hand out she let one of the feathers land in her hand. “One day this forest will die, mother.” She blew the feather into the fire and watched as the rest fell to the floor. “But not by a human. I fear that something will happen and I won’t be able to protect this forest and the life in it. I can feel it…”
Ruby wasn’t wrong. Fire could be extremely destructive and dangerous when it wasn’t controlled with care. It made her wonder if Ruby had perhaps had a traumatic experience before with fire? Her concerns then brought about more worry for Narelle. Why was she feeling so negatively about the safety of the forest? “Why do you think something bad will happen, Ruby? Do you know more? Or is it just a feeling? Maybe there is something we can do to help protect it. I know how much you care for this forest. I can help you protect it because I love it too...” Narelle trailed off, mesmerized by her daughter’s wings and feathers.

Bowling?
“The mother is in the hatchling’s life. Yes. The father remains in the area more as a, territorial agenda. It only cares that no other male comes to claim the female for themselves. It does, occasionally, hunt for food for it and the mother, however, I have never seen them do anything that would be considered, fatherly. What is a, unfortunate, side effect, is that the family of avians never really leaves the area once they have their first set of hatchlings.” Looking over, he’d ask the ever present question. “Why do you ask?”
A shrug came from the hunter and he tilted his, watching the skies. “Just curious, I guess.” More so, Juro wanted to know what to expect. Some animals were extremely protective of their young. Hopefully it would only be the mother they would have to worry about. “Let’s get this hunt going,” Juro stated abruptly, and began walking once more, to hopefully get much closer to their target.

“I suppose you’re right,” Juro admitted. The hunter would never be able to fully understand why Tsubasa was the way he was. While they were once the same being, there was still so many things that they did not comprehend of one another. Tsubasa would never understand why Juro wanted so badly to save people and protect them, whilst Juro would never know why Tsubasa was so violent and hateful of all creatures. It was as if blood was the only thing he ever sought, just for the fun of it. His lips pursed, before giving a short nod to Maya, when she asked if it was right.
When mention of his own safety was brought to his attention, a soft chuckle briskly escaped Juro, and he’d let a rather small smile linger on his lips. It was funny, to think of his own safety now. When Juro put thought into it now, he’d realized that his own safety had never actually been something he’d often considered, if ever at all. It seemed as though he found himself always wanting to protect others. It surprised him, however, when Maya admitted to being jealous herself that Juro was not also hers. Perhaps it was because they were once one in the same, but now? The smile slowly fell away, and he too, sat as she did.
A soft sigh passed through thin lips, and he’d tilt his empty glass, rotating his wrist so that the glass would move in a circular motion upon the table. “I never hated you, but I always feared what could happen to you.” What Maya admitted was undoubtedly a shock to Juro, to say the least. It was a curious thought, and the hunter imagined that such a confession would make his counter part highly unsatisfied. Though, it wasn’t difficult to understand, odd as it was. There was a time when Juro loved someone, so much, that he wished so badly that Tsubasa could love her too. So in a sense, he understood.
“If I am right, I know Tsubasa will want to come back for you,” Juro started softly, because it wasn’t something that he thought about lightly. It was a dangerous thought, for him, and the results, uncertain. “The need to finish you off and return will overwhelm him, but if I’m wrong, and I hope I am wrong, maybe the part of him that cared for you will still be in him somewhere, and he’ll return remorseful,” Juro trailed off, his eyes watching her carefully. “Loving us is a curse, Maya, if not a death sentence...” Juro lifted his glass off the table now, offering a sheepish grin, “Do you mind if I get some more?”
* cont / @crxaturxs
it was only natural that juro felt this way, that he possessed a desire to put a stop to tsubasa and all that he did. she could never understand it, though. they were opposites - another natural feeling, to despise one another . . juro stood for all things good and tsubasa? all things bad. they were quite literally day and night when compared to one another, but that also meant there would be things about tsubasa that juro simply could never understand. it went both ways, that.
as for her reason for loving tsubasa as she did, it was pointless to explain. “. . i don’t think he’s a monster.” she steps back after a moment, releasing a heavy exhale. “the two of you will never understand each other, why you do what you do or anything like that. you’d never understand why i love him, even if i spent all night explaining it to you. you still wouldn’t be able to fathom that he has even a sliver of gentleness in him,”
her eyes flick up with a flutter from long lashes - establishing a stare on juro’s face. “isn’t that right?” she doesn’t need to ask, because she already knows. she knows that juro hated tsubasa, but just as he hated him, that blinded him. in the eyes of someone with such hate, there would never be anything positive. no matter what tsubasa did, she knew it’d never be enough to convince juro he was anything but a monster. an unfortunate fact, but one no less.
“you’re putting yourself in danger by offering to protect me . .” she trails off, eyes slowly wandering elsewhere thus breaking her stare on the male. “tsubasa will only get angry knowing we’ve spent so much time together already.” she does not answer his question, but instead begins to turn in her spot to approach the chair she’d been in previously. “he’s rather jealous,”
“but you know this, don’t you? i’m curious . . why you’d do that for me.” as she turns to sit down, her eyes raise back to his face, to stare with a subtle tilt of the head. “for a long time i was certain you hated me, did you know that? during that time, i too . . was rather jealous. you were never mine, but i felt as if you should’ve been, because you were apart of tsubasa.” a pause, while elbows are pressed onto table and chin comes to rest in her palms. “i loved tsubasa, i wanted to love all of him back then . . even you.”

Eye for an Eye
@demonoftheatom·:
A single word would be the thought that escaped his mind and passed his lips. “Immortality~” He would chuckle a bit. Shaking his head some. “So many options for such a thing, however~ Everything from cursing them to resurrect forever, to simply stopping them from ageing~ Though, I feel there is only one, a single option, this actress would accept~ Given her perceived care and want for beauty, there is only one curse of immortality which brings such things~ Only one that taunts such allure and power to go with living till the ends of time~ That of the sanguine nature~ It offers power~ It offers immeasurable physical beauty~ Such vain reasons for choosing it, yet, I believe they are only reasons this actress would demand it~”
RosaRae’s eyes lit with glee. Of course that was his answer. Again, she giggled softly, and nuzzled into her mate’s cheek. He was so wonderful sometimes, and she often found herself questioning how she’d gotten so lucky. “You’re too much some times,” she said with a smile. When Taomasa continued, she found herself pondering the endless possibilities, but the one that kept returning to her was succubus. Like her scumbag father, beauty was a benefit of being such a monster. Though at a price for certain. “What’s that, Tao-kun? Tell me,” she purred to him quietly.

her drink is finished off soon enough, with the last few sips tossed back into a single one. she hums with satisfaction as the alcohol burns her throat, just a little. though mind is occupied, she did not miss his motions. the way he most to clasp hand o’er area which possessed injury prior. she is silent in her observations, ‘fore slowly beginning to stand with glass in hand. she moves towards counter with it, to place it on top and reach into cabinet to re-fill her glass. she’d probably had enough, enough that her emotional pain did not seem so heavy any more but at the same time, it wasn’t enough. it never was.
“i believe that tsubasa has had many dark thoughts and dreams .. perhaps at one point, he did seek to end my life but i don’t believe that is something he thinks of any longer. perhaps when we’d first met, i was nothing more than a delectable thought but now? i am his very heart.” the sound of liquid filling her glass occupies what would have been silence when she stops talking, and her eyes focus on the task at hand.
once her glass was nearly topped, she puts the bottle down and raises her glass for a big gulp. satisfying, really. the demon moves after, to approach the kitchen table again but instead of sitting, she places her glass down on the table and reaches towards him. index finger hooking gentle under his chin to encourage his head to lift, so that he looked up at her. “who knows, perhaps i’ll never even see him again. it’ll take a lot of courage on his part to face me again.”
There was a time when Tsubasa’s thoughts flooded Juro’s own dreams. The horrors his most evil half would conjure would always leave the hunter exhausted and haunted the mornings he awoke. Very rarely were there times when Tsubasa would think only of Maya, leading Juro to know more of her before ever actually interacting with her the way he was now. Tsubasa did think fondly of her, and how he was able to was beyond him. Not in the sense that he himself did not see such warm qualities in her, but that Tsubasa was even capable of thinking of anyone in such a way. But as it was, rare.
Pondering this, Juro would polish off the last of the wine in his own glass, tipping his head back so as not to leave any behind, then setting the glass back upon the table, and lowering his head as he swallowed. The way Maya spoke of Tsubasa now made him feel for her, in a solemn manner. It was clear that she still loved him in some fashion, and in that sense, led him to pity her. Pity, because loving Tsubasa was a burden. It was a curse and if anything, a death sentence in his opinion. It truly did bewilder Juro how Tsubasa could feel anything besides hate and hunger, because that was all the hunter could ever feel from his other half when they were still one together.
When she approached, Juro found himself lost in thought from her words earlier, having not recognized that she was standing beside him now, until he felt the gentle slide of her finger under his chin, and let her guide his daze up towards her own. The statement made him curious, and for a moment, he was silent as he played with what to say to her next in his head. “You would be surprised at how selfish Tsubasa can be, when it comes to the things and people, he wants; but I think you are right, still. Someone has to stop him...”
Juro shifted in his seat, to stand, now looking down at Maya with glass in hand. It almost angered Juro that Tsubasa was able to love her, because it ultimately meant that he was inevitably going to hurt her, which he had. Perhaps his next statement was out of line, but it did not make sense to him either. Tsubasa didn’t deserve it, and Juro was certain that he never would. It angered him because of all the pain and loss that Juro suffered because of Tsubasa. “How could you love him? It has always been his nature to be a monster. So I don’t get it. I’m sorry.... I know we shared so much, he and I, but I never knew his endgame. Once we were separated, I was suspicious what he would do next, or what would happen.”
The hunter looked elsewhere, feeling guilty for approaching her with this, and almost regretted it. However, he had to know. Was there more to him that Juro simply never saw? Could there be a sliver of good in Tsubasa? As hard as it was to believe for him, he had to consider the possibility, but there was so much doubt, and Juro himself found a rage and hate growing inside himself for Tsubasa more now than he ever had before, if that was even possible.
“Weren’t you scared of him? I was terrified, all the time, because of who he was. The things he does. Didn’t that frighten you? I just don’t understand, Maya. Why would you willingly put yourself in a situation with such a dangerous monster? I will do everything I can to protect you now, but I have to know. I need to know how the demon side that was once me, could have ever been loved...”

The Maid
He hated talking about the other half of Ruby, because she really did scare him. “Her name is Hisano and she is a part of you and me. She is a lustful girl and absolutely disgusting. Hisano won’t hurt ruby though. For some reason she adores her and wants to be by her side, but I can’t allow it. I can’t have this demon running around with our daughter.” Ryuu just let so much out, because he has been through so much with Hisano and Ruby now.
When she began to blame herself Ryuu shook his head. “It’s not your fault…It’s mine. I pushed you away and made you hate me. I was out of control and our daughter had to pay for it. Narelle?” The stag raised his head slightly. “If something happens to me will you take care of Ruby?” It was almost like Ryuu knew something bad was going to happen to him soon.
Solemn expression washed Narelle’s face as she listened to Ryuu explain Hisano, as she was called. This made the fairy mother worry even more for her daughter. It was bad enough that Juro had his demons and they hated each other but for Hisano to want to be right by Ruby’s side? It made her worry for Ruby’s safety regardless, because who knew what Hisano could get Ruby into? Trouble, danger? It all just seemed extremely suspicious that Hisano would want to be close to Ruby. The influence she could have on her daughter is what Narelle felt threatened by.
At her former lover’s question, Narelle furrowed her brow. Confused, but almost mad in a sense. “Of course I would. I will always care for our children,” she said defensively. Then, she began to question Ryuu. Why would he even ask such a thing? “Ryuu, are you worried? Is there something else you are not telling me?” Her lips pursed as she stared at him, awaiting her answer. There had to be a reason right? Ryuu couldn’t possibly think that she would neglect her children should they need her if Ryuu wasn’t around, right? But why wouldn’t he be? It was almost ironic. Ryuu hadn’t been there as much as Narelle had for Juro, and that alone was hard. So she felt for Ryuu, having to take on Ruby and Hisano by himself for so long. But Narelle was not challenged with the idea of having to care after both her children. In fact, she almost relished the idea, but not in the sense that she hoped that Ryuu wouldn’t be in the picture. Not at all. So then, why? Why would he even ask?
“You need to tell me, if there’s more. I need to know so I can help her...”

Bad Seed
Listen to him she stopped talking and stood there for a moment before turning around. “Why would we hurt someone like Ruby? She is precious and doesn’t deserve to be treat like our dick father. I don’t want to hurt her Tsubasa. Also if you touch her or harm her I won’t hesitate to kill you. You might not have a good relationship with your other half, but Ruby took care of me. I get what you are saying and that would get me off. Oh…so much~” She began to hug herself as she drooled a little.
“But…maybe we can please each other if you know what I mean~” She was being pervy, but it wasn’t what you would think. “We could use a human girl and make her look like Ruby~” Just the thought of crushing Ryuu’s heart got her hot. With his last question she snapped out of her pervy day dreams. “Ryuu is the last child of Hinatu and Yoru. The blood line needs to end, Tsubasa. I personally can’t have children I don’t know about you, but the more there are of us the weaker we get. Don’t you want to be stronger, Tsubasa? If we kill Ryuu our powers will grow~”
The hollow rolled his eyes at her. Protecting the little girl. Why? She wasn’t important to him. What did he care if she got her? Sister or not, she didn’t matter to him. She was just another little brat he could eat, and she would probably be delicious given the power she had from their family alone. The idea made him smirk ever so slightly, nearly undetectable.
When she spoke of pleasing one another, Tsubasa almost felt disgusted. Mostly because his affections were unfortunately for another, but also because she was like a child to him, though there was hardly any age difference. Tsubasa felt there was nothing enticing about his sister, and his smirk quickly turned into a disgruntled frown, but then, her idea of what she really meant was actually quite appeasing, and the smirk quickly returned just as fast as it had fallen. That was a really good idea, actually.
As she explained herself, Tsubasa found himself even more curious, and stepped closer to his sibling reflecting his interest in her words. “How do you know this. How can you be certain that killing him will make us stronger? Do you have proof?” Tsubasa’s eyes then widened with glee. “I don’t care about that good-for-nothing wretch, so killing him isn’t the question. I just want to know why you’re so certain it’ll make us stronger!?” Tsubasa began to grow hungry. Hungry for his father’s soul!

Taomasa’s gaze turned back to the stage. Smiling softly as he relaxed along side RosaRae. Neither the world, nor those in it, did he have much care for outside of his family. The humans were certainly fun to watch, some interesting in their habits, and others, he felt some form of pity for. Though, ones like those in front of them, his pity would run short rather quickly, given they refused all help when offered or given. “To care for such things, and not apply the help offered for such things, ultimately leads to one’s own decimation and eventual end~ Whether the end of their perceived life, or their career and social lives~ It’s almost tempting to offer a way out, or force a change, simply to see how they’d react~ Though, that’d simply be me enjoying meddling with the world around me for my own amusement~”
A quiet giggle would emit from RosaRae, knowing her husband all too well. She knew that was exactly what he would do. Being an all-powerful being, Tao-kun was capable of pity and empathy, but only to those who truly deserved it. It was funny, as she thought much the same of what he was describing. Doing things just to see how the humans would react. “What would you think to do with someone like her,” RosaRae asked her mate, out of curiosity.

I need to know how the demon side that was once me, could have ever been loved...”

deadly-sweethearts:
A Month with Mother
She really didn’t know if she was the one controlling the wind or the feather. Ruby figured that she was controlling the wind, but now her mother got her thinking. “Um…I don’t know the answer to your question.” The feather was starting to float close to the fire and Ruby wasn’t really paying attention to it. With a small sigh she looked down at her hand and noticed the feather was gone. It was too late though the feather burned up in the fire. Ruby watched as the flames disintegrate her feather.
“Is fire even a good thing, mother?”
A eyebrow quirked when her daughter answered. Perhaps Ruby needed more practice simply recognizing essence where it was, and when she was using it in a certain matter. As she watched her, Narelle could only assume that Ruby was transferring her essence in to the feather, to make it light as air. It was either that, or she was taking essence from the gravity around the feather to eliminate the possibility of it falling to the ground. Silently, Narelle listened to her daughter, before she had noticed the feather had floated over and into the flames. That then led Narelle to believe that Ruby was in fact transferring her essence into the feather, otherwise it would not have been mobile the way that it had. At her next question, the mother looked back to her youngest, and smiled softly. “I think the best answer to your question is not whether fire is a good thing or not, but rather how it is used. Should the person who makes the fire intend it be used for something destructive, one could easily say that fire is not good. However, as I am using it now, it is a good thing, because it is helping us stay warm inside this cave,” Narelle explained.

argxntxus:
Looking at his companion struggle and become visibly frustrated, the man let out a soft sigh. At the back of his mind he felt that he was at fault for insisting they eat at a fancy restaurant. He silently wondered if it would have been better if he just hunted raw meat for her, but then again, would that have been enough to repay her for being disrespectful? He didn’t want to offend her, not when she had been showing a lot of effort for this. At the very least, Saige looked pleased after wiping her forearms and face with the table napkin placed before her. Pursing his lips, he tried to think of any way he can help her without getting outright her attention.
Xalroc almost immediately chuckled out of courtesy after Saige told her jest, weakly smiling. “Eh, perhaps. I have only ever known this way of eating.” he responded, “though I am beginning to think I might have been asking too much of you, Saige. I am sorry.” He bowed his head, balled right hand over his heart; the Arcivan gesture of sincerity. “Forgive me to say this, but I cannot help but notice the way you hold these utensils. There is actually a proper way of doing so. Would you permit me to still teach you?” Normally he wouldn’t be the type to be insistent but to let Saige get this far blending in human domain but to stop now…
Sighing once more, he spoke solemnly. “I assure you this will be worth your time, and you would be able to use it if you ever find yourself in a pinch.” He then positioned his hands where she could easily see them and placed the utensils he used back where it was initially positioned. Nodding slowly, he gazed intently at her amber eyes and switched it towards his hand. As carefully as he could, he picked up the knife with his right hand and the fork with his left, both held with the correct manner on which they should be used, making sure Saige was able to follow with her own eyes.
“The fork is actually held this way, and you stab the food with it like so.” He then promptly pierced a piece of the lettuce with it properly, followed by slicing it with a knife in a soft, drawing motion, not unlike a horse pawing the ground. “And that is how you hold the knife and slice with it.”
Good thing the utensils were made of metal, as he knew exactly what to do should Saige still have difficulty executing what he had just shown.
“This was your idea...”
It was appropriate that he apologized, at least, in her opinion, though she meant no ill will, nor disrespect by her statement, only that she herself never would have thought of such a thing to do with another. This experience was something she was not keen to, and was definitely not in practice of. Saige spent most of her time as a wolf, but when food became scarce, or the winters too harsh and shelter hard to come by, she found herself scavenging closer to human habitats and transforming so as not to rise any suspicions. Then, when he spoke again offering her more help, she could not help herself but to question why. This strange man, being so kind to her, though it was of no need or consequence; why did he still follow through with such manners?
Xalrox was not wrong, however. What he was showing her, she was grateful for, as it was normal human customs, apparently. So perhaps this was useful for her, but only an irritation, as she was not used to doing this out of normalcy. Curious eyes watched as he again showed her how to properly cut with the utensils, and once he was done, she would take her own upon her steak as he had shown her, and make her own attempt once more.
A sudden, happy gasp would escape her as she successfully had cut through her steak, breaking through to the plate beneath it. Wide smile remained on her face as she looked up at Xalrox for his approval at her second attempt. It was much easier to separate the meat into smaller portions once she had a better hold on the knife and fork. Then, she began to think about how humans must have had to learn this at an early age to become so good at it. “Eating must be a chore for your kind. Having to do so much to your food for it to simply become edible. Doesn’t this ever bother you...?”
