its just so fascinating when people go on and on about how adults were always so nasty towards them or how scared and uncomfortable they felt in public or how they always felt so distant and alone from their families, and how they carry this hurt to this very day - only to be nasty to children, complain and mock kids who have meltdowns in public, and to never interact or genuinely love their kid family members. you love the idea of breaking generational curses in theory but lack the actual self-awareness to actually do so. truly, truly fascinating.

Bonus! Based on this quick thing I did this afternoon and the idea took a bit more shape and turned into that thing from above uEK

#not too much effort on the colors with this one #o would’ve left it just with lineart but at the end I thought it would look nicer with some rough shadows #shadowing. you know what I meant.#his plant markings being extremely faint on his eyes when they aren’t glowing is very true to me also #I think itd be awesome if Vash’s eyes would just look like that when he isn’t masking #or they could be a bit more lax but still look like they are staring far far away into the void #or into your souls if you so happen to make eye contact with him. like woowoo over here #he is probably listening for one of his sisters who is not so close to him. maybe even Kni? who knows it’s up to interpretation #Vash’s hair can be such a nightmare also. when i was a kid i fell in love with dandelions. when i told my parents, they said they were just weeds, not flowers at all. i was always upset on the dandelions behalf- why didnt people love them too? why were they a problem when they were just as pretty?

even aside from all the current residuals&streaming availability fuckery, I was looking at 978-0786847655 one of the Disney Fairies books with some lovely illustrations and the artists listed are

That’s nothing. That’s less than nothing. I want names and proper credits. SO many books are published by the mouse with only this catch all name listed for worlds of work. What if I want to track down the artists and support their individual work? Do you keep them in a cave and not let them see the sun? Or do you just not believe in proper crediting.

‘oh but there was probably a contract and they were surely paid’ yeah and ???? paid how much what about residuals are the artists even allowed to put these books on their work history since without their name credited anywhere. The contract or job listing or internship clause or whatever tactic disney uses to get away with this is scummy while sure this type of thing should be low on the list of priorities on how to de-shitify the world, it should be on the list.

yes some of the artists who have worked on the franchise are listed on the artofdisneyfairies tumblr, but that’s a fan account and it’s incomplete. A book should have full proper credits in it

The corporation may own the art but they didn’t make it and they shouldn’t hide who did the work as neither artists nor ‘consumers’ benefit from that.

took my little brother to the zoo today and i expressly told him not to bark at the animals because it’s equivalent to shouting at them and just kinda rude but there were these two kids in fox masks with tail belts howling at the wolves and he looked at me with such big sad wet eyes and blatant desperation that i sighed and went “ok. one bark.”

Like don’t get me wrong. I think most writers that make Bruce hit his kids are incredibly lazy. But abuse doesn’t start and stop with hitting. You understand that. Bruce’s emotional abuse of his children due to his own deep rooted issues and projection of those issues onto them and his prioritization of the Mission above all else (also the fact he’s an asshole) is far more fucking interesting than having him hit them and call it a day.
