How anyone is able to focus on life or work or pleasure right now is beyond me. We are witnessing an active genocide; the result of 75 years of colonialism, occupation and apartheid. I will continue to march, to write to my MP, to boycott, and to protest, until Palestine sees freedom. There is no “two sides” to this. This is not a “complex issue”. If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. 7,000+ Palestinians have been killed in the past two weeks alone, with the median age of the victims being 14 years old.

When your children ask you what you did in this crucial time, when witnessing humanitarian disaster, what will you tell them?

Body neutrality is essential for the revolution. It's a needed foundation for "I can't be free until we are all free."

We need to deconstruct "happy" and we need to deconstruct "healthy" because they are seeped in white supremacist and colonialist culture. So much abuse is heaped on people with the excuse that they "just want [you] to be healthy."

Bullshit. Transphobia, ableism, fatphobia, and racism are tied to our bodies and judgements about them. For the years doctors denied me care as I got sicker and sicker it was due to these judgements. People refuse to acknowledge that body judgements kill people every day.

body neutrality is NOT, "so long as you're happy and healthy, your body is a good body". it's about getting rid of the idea of a "good body" at all. it's saying that your body is A BODY, and having a body is a neutral feature of all humans. it's saying that specific bodies shouldn't be focussed on more than others, because all bodies are bodies

when you say "so long as you're happy and healthy", you're not actually helping. because. unless you've put in the hard work of deconstructing what you think "happiness" and "healthiness" look like, I can guarantee "happy and healthy" is just going to loop back to ableism and fatphobia

As predicted, Israel waited until Tuesday, Nov. 5th, 2024, the date of the US Presidential election, to officially announce that Palestinians are in the process of being ethnically cleansed from North Gaza.
