My take/designs on the pevensies! (They’re definitely heavily inspired by their looks in the movies.)
Beginning of the lion, the witch and the wardrobe
End of golden age-ish
I’d call this a WIP but it’s not really, mostly once we get into designing clothes in fantasy settings I feel very out of my depth, but I wanna practice more. I’m the most happy with Lucy’s but that’s also cause I most heavily referenced with hers.
Im mostly still just figuring out the clothes design for when they’re in narnia. I want brighter/more jewel toned and warmth to contrast with the more muted London clothes. And for the clothing design I want embroidery, but other than that I have no idea how I would make the designs of the narnian style in this era cohesive.
I also have vague main colours for each of them, lucy green, secondary red, edmund blue secondary brown, Susan purple secondary blue, Peter red secondary purple, and all of them use gold as well.

Hi! I hope yall are doing great! I was watching supernatural, and DMB was mentioned, and I thought, "Where have I heard that before? 🤔" and then remembered that DMB is also part of the wayhaven lore (I have a terrible memory). It made me wonder if you based Dead man's blood and other supernatural substances/beings in old series/movies :)
It was actually based on a super old legend for vampires! I love looking at the very original myths for supernaturals and seeing what could be used or adjusted for Wayhaven. Though some of the very old legends are…odd, lol! They make for good reading during research though, hehe :D
So yeah, dead man's blood is a super old legend for vampires, but I didn't want it to be just what it said, which is where the idea of having it as some kind of form of poison from a flower came about!
Thank you so much for the ask! :)

What supernatural creature would you yourself assign for your detectives (or ocs) if they weren't the detective™ of that worldstate but like apart of the agency? or something idk
#the wayhaven chronicles#dinah would be a banshee#the death symbolism really suits her and i can just see her having the visions/nightmares of peoples death#and various other things aswell#vampire or eldritch creature does also suit her bc she originally came from bloodborne#vesper is screaming werewolf (bc elden ring oc and i really really associate that with wolves i guess) or some other kind of shapeshifter#but i think I'd really have to look into more to really be sure. plus she has playful doggo/pupper vibes#victor (name pending) is giving gumiho/nine tailed fox and whilst its predominantly females when i did research it mentioned a tiny tiny#percent of males so he actually could be.#though crazy shift i could also see him being a dragon shapeshifter or a pheonix so idk there either#twc

Batfamily Mitzvah
Context: I learned about Bruce is canon Jewish because his mother was and this is if Kate dragged Bruce to a family bar mitzvah.
Kate is reading a People magazine.
Kate: Bruce, do you know Linda?
Bruce (sorting through paperwork): The crazy family member? That doesn’t narrow it down, does it?
Kate: Not really. She’s our third cousin, but she goes by Aunt Linda. She’s the one who hit her husband with her car, and when he survived, they stayed together.
Bruce: That Linda... I’ve always hated her. I remember she used to insult my mom for not marrying the right man.
Kate: That's the one. We all hate her at this point. Anyways her son's son—
Bruce (correcting tone): Her grandson?
Kate rolled her eyes.
Kate: Yes, smartass. They’re throwing him a bat mitzvah in a few weeks, and they invited me. You’re coming.
Bruce: I’m busy that day.
Kate: I haven’t told you when it is.
Bruce: My schedule is full when it comes to visiting 'Aunt' Linda and her insane family.
Kate: My bad, cuzzo. You misunderstood. That wasn’t an invitation; it was a command. I’m not going alone.
Bruce: Why not?
Kate (looking up from her magazine): I’m a lesbian, and they’re very religious. Linda will be there and has made it very clear that “Oh, it’s just a phase, darling. You’ll find the right man!”
Bruce: Why am I coming, though? I don’t like her, and I don’t want to hear her voice again.
Kate: I’m bringing you so she can ask why you’ve adopted those kids and aren’t married yet, how one of them died and then came back to life, why you’re dating a former bank robber, and why you only have one biological son. Tsk, tsk, naughty, naughty, naughty. I told her some things about you in the group chat, and she’s already asked a lot of evasive questions... about you. Make sure you have a good suit; that’s basically all you wear.
Bruce: Oh, okay... I have no say in the matter. Got it. Fine.
Kate (dryly): There’s the master detective you pride yourself on being.
Bruce (already regretting this): What time are we supposed to be there?
Kate: We have to be at the synagogue early in the morning because it’s on a Sunday—you are going into the synagogue; I don’t want to hear it.
Bruce groaned, rubbing his temples. He never seemed to get along with churches, but he knew he had no say in the matter when it came to Kate and her persistence.
Kate: After that, the party is at three. I hate talking to so many of them; we can sneak off, have a drink, whatever you want to do, and show back up at four. Are you bringing the kids?
Bruce (sarcastically): Was that a question I'm allowed to answer? Thank you so much for allowing me to respond.
Kate: I can be nice like that.
Bruce (aggravated): No, they’re not going. I don’t even want to bring Damian. They wouldn’t like that side of the family.
Kate: Hmm, I never asked—are you practicing Judaism?
Bruce: Nope.
Kate: Why? Aunt Martha was Jewish; by extension, you’re Jewish.
Bruce: That’s not true.
Kate: You’ve studied numerous forms of fighting, weapons, and even opera, but you don’t know that if your mother is Jewish, you’re Jewish, too? Damian, however, is ethnically Jewish. Your dad doesn’t factor in... were you unaware?
Bruce glares at Kate, refusing to answer.
Kate: Oh my goodness! Yes, I knew something you didn’t know!
Bruce (rubbing his forehead): Yup, I’ll give you that. But for your information, I was never raised with a Jewish upbringing.
Kate: Seriously, I thought they’d do something—
Bruce: They died when I was eight in an alley. You lose the spirit of anything when that happens!
Kate (sighing): You use that excuse too much.
Bruce: My parents died!
Kate (silent for a second): My sister is clinically insane, and one of your sons shook hands with God. It’s not a competition.
Bruce: The way Jason tells it, he met Satan for some time.
Kate: He’s joking; were you unaware of that as well?
Bruce refused to respond, pretending to read a document on his desk.
Kate (laughing): Are they aware you’re Jewish?
Bruce: Yes, but again, I’m not practicing. So it’s like... yes, but no.
Kate: Oh, so me. Cool.
Kate returned to reading, while Bruce looked over a case about Scarecrow.
Bruce (desperate): Can I pay you—
Kate (firmly): You’re going to this party; money won’t change that.
Bruce (half-sarcastically): I just love these special moments we share.
Kate: Aww, same here, cuzzo.

On Armand + Atropa belladonna
To begin this post, I'm sure I've mentioned somewhere my ongoing belief that the poison that killed Armand was Atropa belladonna, colloquially known as Deadly Nightshade. Where I posted this exactly I'm not sure, It could have been here or on either my main or private Twitter accounts. Either way, it needed more elaboration, so I'll write about it here.
For those unfamiliar with this infamous poison, Atropa belladonna, more often called Deadly Nightshade, Belladonna, or Devil's Cherries, is a flowering plant native to Europe and Western Asia, and naturalised in many parts of North America. They are well known for their light purple bell-shaped flowers, their pointed green leaves, and their highly toxic pitch-black berries.
My interest in these plants has been a long-standing one, and I even plan on having the plant tattooed on me, but another interest arose recently when I was thinking about the history and usage of these plants.
It's well established in the Vampire Chronicles that Armand died from poisoning, mirroring his own fledgling Daniel's death to alcohol poisoning centuries later. Of course, what truly caused their deaths and turnings was being made into a vampire, that's what ceased their mortality, but it does not change that they were both still already dying of poison, and although we know Daniel's poison was alcohol, Armand's remains a mystery.
What begins my theory of Armand's poison being belladonna, is the name itself. While belladonna has had many medicinal uses throughout history and even in the modern day, the most famous use remains its namesake- "Beautiful Lady" in Italian. During the Renaissance, the time in which Armand lived, died, and was made a vampire, this plant was hugely popular among noble women of Italy, particularly in Venetian courts, where these ladies would drop the juice into their eyes, as the toxins in the berries cause the pupils to dilate and the eyes look larger, which was considered a beauty standard at the time. (Interestingly, one of the tropane alkaloids found in belladonna and other plants in the Solanaceae family (Atropine) is still used in modern optometry for the dilation of the pupils.)
Immediately, there is a direct link to Armand's death. With belladonna being such a known and widely used poison in Rennaisance Venice, It is by no means unlikely that it was the poison that eventually caused his mortal death.
But other details in the Chronicles point to this as well. Belladonna was widely used by upper-class Venetian women during this period, but it was not a Venetian woman who killed Armand, it was an English Lord. But who was it that was a noblewoman, who had intimate knowledge and use of poisons, and the host of this very Lord? Bianca.
It's almost guaranteed that Bianca had access to and used belladonna, both as a poison and as a cosmetic at this time. This lord could have easily acquired this poison from Bianca through theft, asking for it, or having been given it freely. Bianca at this time was both a murderer and a courtesan, and with belladonna's widespread use as a cosmetic, it may not have seemed unusual to her to be requested the poison by a guest.
One setback to the theory is that Belladonna is primarily deadly when ingested, and Armand's poisoning was not caused by ingestion of the plant. However, it can still be absorbed through the skin, and if the essences such as the juice of the plant were coated onto a blade that was then used to cut someone as Lord Harlech cut Armand, it would enter the bloodstream anyway and likely be fatal-as it was.
It's described in TVA how the cuts where Harlech's blade had caught Armand began to swell, a side effect of topical belladonna not often seen in poisonings vis ingestion, yet no less real, as belladonna exposure on the skin can cause severe contact dermatitis, as well as its other more known symptoms also found in ingestion poisonings; dizziness, blurred vision, hot flushes, vomiting, fever, delirium, etc. All are also described within the book.
Overall, the time, place, symptoms and associations all line up to make Armand's death read as belladonna poisoning, regardless of what poison may have been Anne Rice's intent, if any specific poison at all. There is also of course the poetic irony of the associations between belladonna and beauty, and Armand's own beauty being somewhat of a curse to him. How perfect it would seem if his death was caused by beauty too, not just his own and how his murderer desired him, but the very poison that was the weapon being a symbol of beauty too?
(Another detail that could be interesting to AMC show fans is that another of the tropane alkaloids found in plants in the Nightshade family such as Atropa belladonna is hyoscyamine, which is used in medicine to reduce spasms in patients with Parkinson's disease, which Daniel suffers with in the show. This is a lot more minor, but interesting nonetheless that the association with nightshades is found in other places in TVC and adaptations)
#wow this got long lol#should mention i am not a doctor a pharmacist a biologist or a botanist#or a toxicologist#i just really like belladonna its a very interesting plant#anyways#meta#tvc meta#tvc#the vampire chronicles#armand#the vampire armand#interview with the vampire#iwtv#mine#hc#headcanon#this is a no1 on the headcanon scale its canon to me#this post really could have been’hey i hc that belladonna was the poison that killed armand’#but instead i spent an hour and a half researching and writing and getting evidence for why i think that#reference#belladonna

🇬🇧 Immerse yourself in the captivating world of computing through the Sinclair ZX Spectrum—a groundbreaking microcomputer that captured the imagination of an entire generation!
🌟 In 1980, the visionary British entrepreneur and scientist, Sir Clive Sinclair, entered the home computer market with the ZX80 priced at £99.95, marking the era's most affordable personal computer in the United Kingdom. A year later, the ZX81 hit the high street, introducing home computing to a generation, with over 1.5 million units sold.
💻 Released in 1982 by Sinclair Research Ltd., the Sinclair ZX Spectrum swiftly became one of the most iconic home computers of its time. It dominated the UK's computer sales market, fiercely competing against Commodore and Amstrad. This compact and budget-friendly machine brought computing into countless households.
🕹️ Powered by the Zilog Z80A CPU running at 3.5 MHz and equipped with either 16 KB or 48 KB of RAM, the ZX Spectrum sported a sleek, compact design resembling a keyboard with rubber keys, making it innovative and approachable. Its graphics and sound capabilities were ahead of their time, enabling vibrant games and applications.
⌨️ One of the ZX Spectrum's standout features was its vast library of games. From classics like "Manic Miner" and "Jet Set Willy" to innovative titles developed by enthusiasts, the Spectrum's game collection remains a cherished part of gaming history. The computer's BASIC programming language also inspired users to create their own software.
🖥 Despite modest hardware specifications, the ZX Spectrum nurtured a lively community of developers and enthusiasts, serving as a gateway into the world of programming and digital creativity.
🚀 Over its lifespan, the ZX Spectrum evolved with new models, including the ZX Spectrum+, ZX Spectrum 128, and ZX Spectrum +2, each offering enhanced performance and features while retaining the beloved design.
📺 The ZX Spectrum's impact extended beyond its hardware, playing a pivotal role in the British computing scene, inspiring future generations of programmers and entrepreneurs. Its legacy resonates in modern computing and gaming through emulators and remakes that keep its spirit alive.
📊 At the peak of its success and largely inspired by the Japanese Fifth Generation Computer program, the company established the "MetaLab" research centre at Milton Hall near Cambridge to pursue advanced projects like artificial intelligence, wafer-scale integration, and formal verification.
💔 Financial difficulties in 1985, brought on by the failures of the Sinclair QL computer and the TV80 pocket television, led Sinclair to sell the rights to its computer products and brand name to Amstrad in 1986. Sinclair Research Ltd continued as a one-man company, marketing Clive Sinclair's inventions until his passing in September 2021.
