#rescue all the kittens

Let’s be real here guys. As much as we and the eye believe that the only people that survived and will get to quesadilla island are on the boat, I highly doubt that Tubbo, and especially Fit, would let Pac stay in purgatory for long. You know that the second they land foot on dry land their clingy asses are devising a plan to go back and get Pac, anyone else is just an added bonus.

I can see Pac, sitting on the beach, crying bc he just lost his son and his family when he hears screaming coming from the ocean before he sees a huge ass boat that Tubbo built speeding over the waves at unimaginable speeds. Once it crashes into the shore theres a lot of crying and hugging and “I thought you left me!” “We would never leave you!” Before they all realize that there are, in fact, other people aside from Pac there that they completely forgot about saving when Tubbo and Fit made the plan in a separation anxiety induced panic.

honestly? no collar + no chip = no owner fr fr. i like sometimes cats get out when they arent supposed to and their collars get ripped off. understandablw. but like. if u have an "outdoor cat". and it does not have a collar, and it does not have a chip. how the hell is ANYONE supposed to tell ur lil guy apart from a stray??? literally how??

for real!! sorry, no owner! this cat has no evidence of being someone's pet! no collar, no chip, no missing flyers, nothin!!! and there's nothing to differentiate a missing cat from an outdoor cat from a friendly stray from a dumped/abandoned cat. They Are The Same.

Tomorrow morning I drop Mommy Cat and her litter off at a cat rescue. I am so proud of her for trusting us and for surviving this heat wave. I asked for Mommy Cat back once her babies are weaned & adopted if she doesn’t find a home. If an animal can say thank you, Mommy Cat is screaming it.

unpopular opinion but people who insist inside cats are the only ethical way to have a cat don’t seem to realise how un-cat-like a lot of their behaviour is. they’re bored shitless and understimulated all the time and confined to a territory that’s far too small for them and it fucking shows.

i literally just saw a post about a cat following mountain climbers with a reblog pointing out how far cats roam with the implication that that’s why outdoor cat owners are wrong for letting them out and it’s like… take that thought just a little bit further, please. if that was a zoo, most of you all would be alleging animal abuse and saying how it needs a bigger enclosure than what the zoo is providing. it’s the same principle. normal cats aren’t constantly trying to make a break for it, they won’t follow you around or bother you constantly or sniff every little thing because they’re desperate for any stimulation they can possibly get, etc.

most cats are far less trainable than you think because they’re not going out of their mind and can just go and choose to be somewhere else, do something else (or nothing else), and when you stop interacting with an inside cat and rewarding them for doing the things you want them to, they go back to being shut in a tiny little house again where everything is the same and with nothing new or engaging to occupy them.

if you have an extremely engaged inside cat that shows interest in everything you ever offer them, it’s because they’re bored. most cats are disinterested by default. there is not enough “here sniff this spoons” in the world that can fully make up for the enrichment of the outside.

if you have an inside cat i’m not saying you’re wrong, i get it, it totally depends on the cat itself and your location and all that jazz, and i personally wouldn’t have an outside cat in a city center either (i left my must-be-outside cat with my parents when I moved to near a busy road). but if you act like you’re better than other cat owners for it when you are literally not providing a roaming range big enough to meet their psychological needs… blocked.

Also, our new kitten, the wild one who just moved into the catio, who is considering giving indoor life a chance and who has no intention of going back outside, is named Elizabeth Bathory. Y'all needed to know this.

One year ago today-

-I went out to a slightly sketchy neighborhood on a wild kitten hunt, after about a week of debating and praying about if I even wanted to deal with another pet thing after we had already lost two earlier in the summer. But I felt God calling me there, and I felt an opposing force trying to stop me from going, so I went.

This was the day I met Leeli the kitten.

She was tiny, starving and emaciated, and- though I didn't know it yet- pregnant. She would have died without intervention, and so would all her kittens.

As soon as I saw her I knew she was a kitten, and after feeding her and getting close enough to not only pet her, but pick her up, I KNEW I could catch her. And I tried to carry her back to my car and take her home right then and there.

But I was not meant to catch her that day. Because if I'd have caught her that first day I never would have known about her sister Maraly and her brother Kalmar, who also desperately needed rescuing, and are incredibly special cats.

Thus began a two-week long epic rescue attempt that would result in me saving the lives of not one, not three, but FOURTEEN Bengal kittens.

I'm hoping I can post a few more times about this whole adventure in detail over the next two weeks, but even if I don't get to it I still wanted to commemorate the occasion.

And I CANNOT post this without giving mention to our old family friend that none of my family had spoken to in ages who randomly sent us a picture of Leeli one day asking "is this a Bengal cat?" and telling us she was a stray outside her husband's work. I am SO GLAD she listened to God's prompting and told us about Leeli, and I am SO GLAD *I* listened and went to find her. Because I literally cannot imagine my life without these cats. 💜💜💜

And this is Leeli now, one year free of the streets, happy and worn out after a long play session with me, her siblings and her two kids we kept.

Sander is such an interesting character to me because he's presented as basically the big bad of the shadow decree, at first glance he seems like a stereotypical villain but the interesting part about Sander is that he isn't evil per se, he's sickenly ambitious.

He isn't like other villains in Dislyte who actively seek harming others to achieve their goals, Sander seeks success and the people that get hurt in the process are collateral damage.
