let me be your autumn fire
ignite your foliage
gold and red
burn through your trunk
your leafage shed
with summer wood
your boughs outspread
my heathen pyre
inflame your bed

that day you were about to cry in the car on your way home, a little girl was counting all blue cars and yours made her happy.
that day you went grocery shopping with your mum, a little kid looked at you and thought they want to dress up like you when they got older.
that day you were insecure on the beach with your parents, a little kid felt safe in their body.
that day you were enjoying that ice cream you promised yourself you wouldn't eat, an old lady saw her grandkid in you and smiled.
that day you were crying in the square, a middle aged man thought of his younger self and treated himself to a pastry.
that day you wanted to die, someone saw beauty in the world for the first time.
that day this stranger had a horrible day, they smiled at you because you looked down.
that day this woman got out of surgery in pain, she got out of her way to help an old lady pass the street.
that day a dog silently passed away in the street, an old old man put a flower next to her.
that day the brightest star signed, someone cried harder than its light.
that day the sun smiled, it was universe's end.

Galaxy Grim
By: Harper A. (@teething-possum)
(A poem about Laika, the Soviet Space Dog, who I’ve been referring to as “little Cosmomutt, the smallest of the Cosmonauts” for the past like. 17 hours.)
-
In Europe, long ago,
They would bury dogs in new cemeteries,
To have them guide souls to the afterlife,
So no human would be forced to stay
They called them Church Grims, Little Cosmonaut,
And you have seemed to become our Galaxy’s Grim,
Guiding our space cadets to the vast void if they don’t return to us,
And I can think of no one better for the job
Little Cosmonaut, did you understand your role?
Did you know you wouldn’t return?
That you would never feel wind in your fur as you ran again?
Did your young mind know you would die, alone, hot and scared?
Some may say you were a mutt,
But you were *our* mutt,
With stardust in your fur and pride in our hearts
We are honored to have been served by you
And we will honor your service forever in return
Oh, Little Cosmonaut, do not fret,
You may chase the planets through orbit for eternity,
No one will mind, you did your job,
You were a good girl, and we remember you
We will always remember our Galaxy Grim, Laika,
The First Soul in Our Solar Graveyard

they found a girl at the beach
her words all washed away
still feeling waves against her legs
and whale skin at her touch
foam in her hair, salt in her veins
so
they tell her about the sea

The night bird calls out in sadness. When I turn to look, the flowers had all fallen away It was as if all comfort had vanished from the world As the gods leave to gather in the new world, Day breaks, and the night bird calls out. The blossoms beseech the gods. "Even though in this world we may know grief and suffering" "Our dreams shall never die" "Even though in this world we may know grief and suffering" "Our dreams shall never die," and they fall from the branch in anger

spent a few days on this (fairly) long self reflection comic/poem i hope you enjoy it comic text for those with screen readers: I have barely improved, especially compared to everyone else. My age weighs heavily on me. What would my younger self think of me..? I always thought I'd just magically... get good? at things? at 18? That did not happen (i'm a NEET) not at all. I'm really quite frustrated with myself. I always seem to give up halfway. The guilt of all the things i could have been... it's like a gut punch. Sometimes I will see other people's work and just think "Wow. I'm awful. I shouldn't be here." People will tell me "No twerg! you're not awful!" They're kind and caring and genuine. But for myself I think... It's time to be okay with being awful sometimes, and it's important to be kind to myself. I will never grow from self-hatred. I can only evolve... from kindness. by twerg45 please do not repost
