continuing through the KH series with three veterans of the series and one completely new guy who is going into everything blind, yesterday the new guy thought that larxene was an older namine based on the cutscene where she threatens to crush namine's charm. which is a VERY funny thing to confuse and did not cross the rest of our minds as a possible misunderstanding
cue all three of us in call being like "no no no no no. she's gaslighting sora and it's working on you too." we cannot wait to see what happens when the new guy has to grapple with the difference between roxas and ventus
oh and we also have the perfect screenshot because i have never played re:com before (i played com when i was a kid) and so we had to scramble for it

I feel like these 2 quotes are literally the core of Kim's character. Like yeah he spills the whole thing here.
He's afraid of becoming a joke and he really likes not taking the first step when doing something fun. I'm actually speechless about how open he is about it, in these 2 moments.

still playing kh in release order with the pals and i was almost normal about the lifeboat in hollow bastion (<- lying). but i did have to go hey. this machine? it's incredibly important. you will not see it again for like seven games. (i think i might suggest we do the χ portion of khux before we get into kh3? the conundrum of "what's the best viewing order for khux + khdr" is haunting me because i was definitely someone who was kind of lukewarm on kh3 until consuming all of khux & khdr and then it snapped into place in my brain. if anyone has ideas i am reaching for them)
anyway who wants to get their hopes up to me that we'll get kh news at summer games fest tomorrow or over the weekend. disney and square enix will both be there. what do we have to lose

i know it will never happen but i so desperately desire an origins-type playable backstory thing in all games but especially veilguard. i feel like it added so much depth to origins and made you feel instantly connected to your character in a way that gets lost in games like inquisition where you fill in the blanks as you go except for the bare basics. like, i do enjoy the freedom to willy nilly decide where a character was before the events of the story from a creative perspective, but the playable origins were just so good! especially when you go back to where your warden is from and can engage differently with the arcs there
