Boebert fondled date's penis in theater
We already knew that U.S. congresswoman Lauren Boebert (R-Colorado) was vaping and distracting other theatergoers before being escorted out of a production of Beetlejuice in her home state Sunday night. Now, thanks to the good old enhance-and-zoom, we know she was fondling her date’s penis and having her breasts pawed by him, all in view of other attendees at the family-age show.
Boebert cited the stress of her divorce for her behavior — that being a divorce from the man who was convicted for lewd exposure after flashing his penis at youngsters at a bowling alley. One of those youngsters was, of course, Rep. Lauren Boebert, who was so impressed by the behavior she later married him.
When Garfield County sheriff’s deputies arrived, McCown told them that he had repeatedly asked Jayson Boebert to leave the bowling alley but that Boebert had “refused to leave and became belligerent.” Lauren Boebert told deputies he had not exposed his penis, but had stuck his thumb through the fly of his pants as a prank. Trisha Walies disputed that in her account, writing: “I know that wasn’t a thumb because thumbs aren’t 6 inches long.” Lauren Roberts told deputies she had not seen Jayson Boebert expose himself.
Not long after that incident, Jayson Boebert found himself in trouble with the law again after a domestic violence incident (which has already been widely publicized) involving Lauren Roberts, his then-girlfriend and future wife. In February 2004, Jayson Boebert was arrested and charged with harassing and physically assaulting Lauren, and was convicted on those charges in November. He “did unlawfully strike, shove or kick … and subjected her to physical contact,” a Garfield County court clerk spokesman told The New York Post in January of 2021. Lauren Roberts had her first child later that year; it is unclear whether she was pregnant at the time of the assault.
In March, Rep. Lauren Boebert voted against the Violence Against Women Act, saying she was opposed to the bill because it would secure abortion rights and tweeting, “This expired amendment should be thrown out like rotten milk.”
Jayson and Lauren Boebert were married in June of 2007, after Jayson had concluded his probation for the lewd exposure conviction.

Controversy Surrounding Rep. Boebert's Theatre Incident Sparks Criticism
Conservative commentator Ann Coulter criticized US Rep. Lauren Boebert, labeling her an “embarrassing bimbo” following her removal from a Denver theater. Boebert, a hard-right Colorado congresswoman, was ejected alongside her date during a “Beetlejuice” musical performance for vaping and disruptive behavior.
Video footage showed Boebert engaging in overtly intimate actions, prompting concerns during a family-friendly show recommended for children aged 10 and above. Boebert’s representatives remained silent regarding allegations of explicit conduct in a Lauren Boebert theatre meant for young audiences, drawing backlash from the LGBTQ+ community.
Expressing regret, Lauren Boebert attributed her behavior to a challenging divorce, acknowledging her actions fell short of her values. Criticism from former President Trump’s ex-attorney, Jenna Ellis, and political figures like Meghan McCain intensified, decrying Boebert’s conduct as disrespectful and contradictory to GOP principles.
Despite being right-wing proponents, Coulter, McCain, and Ellis expressed disappointment in Boebert’s actions. Ellis even cited reservations about supporting Trump’s potential third presidential bid due to his perceived narcissism. Boebert, now in her second term representing Colorado’s Third Congressional District, faces scrutiny amidst this controversy.

Rep. Boebert's Book Account Unveils Controversial Incident at Bowling Alley
A revelation in a recent book by the Republican representative sheds light on a contentious incident involving her husband at Fireside Lane bowling alley in Rifle, Colorado. The representative, Lauren Boebert, asserts in her book that the blame for the event, which led to her husband’s conviction for lewd exposure, lies with a 17-year-old bartender.
According to Boebert, the bartender repeatedly asked to see Jayson Boebert’s “private” tattoo while they were out with friends and family. Rep. Lauren Boebert claims her husband did not expose himself but instead pretended to unzip his pants while intoxicated. The situation escalated when the bowling alley owner attempted to eject him, resulting in an altercation where Jayson threw chips and police were called.
Boebert’s book portrays a different perspective, asserting her husband’s innocence and attributing the incident to misunderstanding and alcohol-related issues. An arrest affidavit detailed conflicting claims from witnesses and Jayson Boebert, outlining his gesture and interactions with the women involved.
The affidavit reported Jayson Boebert’s denial of exposing himself, claiming he mimicked the gesture in jest. Nonetheless, observations noted alcohol on his breath. The book’s account sheds new light on a controversial episode, sparking discussions about the incident’s nuances and implications for both Boebert and Lauren Boebert’s husband .

Boebert's Spouse Convicted for 'Lewd Exposure' in Bowling Alley, Her Presence
In recent events, the political landscape surrounding Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., has been stirred by revelations about her husband, Jayson Steven Boebert. Reports surfaced indicating that the congresswoman failed to disclose Jayson’s lucrative employment within the natural gas industry while serving on the House Natural Resources Committee — oversight directly linked to this sector’s regulation.
However, this might not be the only undisclosed aspect regarding Jayson that Rep. Boebert has kept from public scrutiny. In January 2004, at the age of 24, Jayson Boebert faced an arrest for indecent exposure to two young women at a Colorado bowling alley. At that time, his now-wife, Lauren Roberts, aged 17, was also present and faced repercussions, being barred from the establishment.
According to The New York Post, Lauren Boebert husband admitted guilt to charges of “public indecency and lewd exposure,” resulting in a four-day jail term and subsequent two-year probation. Salon obtained a witness statement by Erica Anne Coombs, one of the involved young women, who resides in Rep. Boebert’s congressional district. Coombs detailed Jayson’s inappropriate behavior towards them, including explicit comments and inappropriate revelations.
During Rep. Lauren Boebert’s induction into the 117th Congress in 2021, Jayson Boebert notably appeared alongside House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy. However, recent financial disclosures indicate Jayson’s potential earnings of almost $800,000 this year as a gas-drilling consultant for Terra Energy — a significant conflict of interest that was previously omitted in Boebert’s disclosures.
Despite Salon’s attempt to reach Jayson Boebert for comment, there has been no response.
This unraveling of undisclosed incidents surrounding Jayson Boebert could potentially cast shadows on Rep. Boebert’s political career and pose ethical questions regarding conflicts of interest within her congressional duties.

Rep. Boebert's Memoir: Debunking Scandal Surrounding Husband's Arrest.
In her latest memoir, “My American Life,” Representative Rep. Lauren Boebert addresses the controversy surrounding her husband, Jayson Boebert’s, arrest in 2004. Boebert asserts that despite the allegations, Jayson never exposed himself in a bowling alley bar as claimed, emphasizing he never committed the acts for which he was accused, arrested, and subsequently served jail time.
The Republican congresswoman from Colorado refutes the accusations detailed in the book, pointing fingers at a 17-year-old bartender at the Fireside Lane bowling alley in Rifle, CO. Boebert contends that the bartender persistently asked to see Jayson’s private tattoo, provoking the incident.
According to Lauren Boebert’s account, on the night of the incident, she and Jayson were not officially married, and Jayson was attempting to bond with her stepfather. As conversations flowed over drinks, the female bartender showed interest in Jayson, egged on by rumors about a unique tattoo in a private area.
Boebert describes Jayson initially ignoring the bartender’s request but later giving in under the influence of alcohol. This led to a confrontation with the bowling alley owner, culminating in Jayson’s arrest after an altercation that included throwing fries at the owner.
The incident was previously reported by The New York Post, alleging Jayson exposed himself to two women at the bowling alley. Boebert doesn’t specify her whereabouts during the occurrence in her book but acknowledges Jayson’s arrest for “indecent exposure to a minor.”
While asserting Jayson’s innocence, Boebert concedes that he accepted a plea deal instead of contesting the charges in court. She emphasizes the ordeal prompted Jayson to seek alcohol and anger management classes included in the plea deal, suggesting a positive learning experience.
Boebert criticizes the lack of acknowledgment from “the Left” for Jayson’s efforts to rectify his behavior, attributing the incident’s aftermath to lessons learned rather than validating the accusations Lauren Boebert’s husband.

Lauren Boebert supports public urination criminalization despite husband's indecent exposure conviction Given the fact that her sex offender husband is criminally guilty of exposing his penis to a minor in a bowling alley, it seems curious that Rep. Lauren Boebert vehemently opposes any attempt to decriminalize public urination in Washington, DC. In the video below, Boebert can be seen hectoring Washington, D.C. — Read the rest https://boingboing.net/2023/03/29/lauren-boebert-supports-public-urination-criminalization-despite-husbands-indecent-exposure-conviction.html

LAUREN BOEBERT
The reason we had so many overreaching regulations in our nation is because the church complied. The church is supposed to direct the government. The government is not meant to direct the church. That is not how our Founding Fathers intended it. And I’m tired of this separation of church and state junk, that’s not in the Constitution. It was in a stinking letter and it means nothing like what they say it does.
-
REP. MAXWELL FROST
This threat to democracy has made its way to Congress. My colleague, Representative Lauren Boebert, said: 'The church is supposed to direct the government. The government is not supposed to direct the church. I'm tired of this separation of church and state junk.”
That junk being the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
The Bible itself in II Corinthians actually warns against this, Paul warned against this. He warned us against people who would preach of a Christ that differs from the true Christ that we learn about in the Bible. That’s exactly what christian nationalism is doing. I condemn religious extremism everywhere, globally and domestically, and we have to recognize the threat it poses to our most sacred freedoms and rooted out everywhere.
It’s incumbent especially on us as christians, me as a christian, to be at the forefront of the fight to make sure white nationalism and christian nationalism doesn’t see the light of day.

I'd like to apologize on behalf of the state of Colorado that Lauren Boebert exists. Our bad, guys.
How the fuck is this waste of oxygen a member of Congress?
The Russian dictator is getting our secrets and billions in intelligence for free from Trump.
Ukraine needs money to fight the Russian dictator.
Republicans see Ukraine as the enemy because Russia is their ally.
These are the facts. Lauren Boebert is the dumbest person alive, and she is given a seat at the table to influence Republican policy.

Lauren Boebert's son has gotten "attention he didn't ask for" because of who his mother is, and how she has presented herself to the public.
There are many, many young people going through difficult challenges because of who they are. Boebert has made their lives harder with her bigoted rhetoric. And of course, there are many, many young people who are now dead - and many, many more who are traumatized - because of gun violence, which Boebert has actively promoted.

Stephen Robinson at Public Notice:
Nancy Mace made headlines in recent weeks with her ugly, transphobic attacks on Democratic Rep.-elect Sarah McBride. Her attention-seeking stunts, such as performatively tearing down transgender flags while on camera, represent new lows in what has been a years-long chase for that next sweet cable news hit.
Before McBride was even sworn into office, Mace introduced a resolution that would ban transgender women from women’s restrooms at the US Capitol. Mace openly admitted that McBride was the specific target of her resolution even though she never planned to use multi-stall bathrooms at the Capitol in the first place. Mace didn’t even bother addressing her concerns directly with McBride before exploiting her identity for her latest 15 minutes of fame. Mace’s bigoted actions and rhetoric have little to do with any actual ideology. Indeed, in the distant past of just last year, she described herself as “pro-transgender rights.” She stated in a 2023 interview, “If they wanna take on a different pronoun or a different gender identity or grow their hair out, or wear a dress or wear pants, or do those things as a minor — those are all things that I think most people would support. Be who you want to be, but don’t make permanent changes as a child. They may decide as an adult, ‘Hey, instead of being Johnny, I want to be Jill’ — that’s OK. But let them figure that out and make that decision when they can consent.”
This is a stark departure from Mace’s current position — she’s referred to trans people as “mentally ill” during her recent flood of bigoted posts on social media — but it’s not inexplicable. Mainstream Republicans have escalated their attacks against trans people over the past few years. During the 2024 GOP primary, for instance, Nikki Haley framed her opposition to trans equality as “the women’s rights issue of our time” and called Dylan Mulvaney “a guy, dressed up like a girl, making fun of women.” Trump, for his part, made crude transphobia a cornerstone of his 2024 campaign — a contrast with his first presidential run, when he actually said trans people should be able to use whatever bathroom they want. At a glance, it seems as if Mace simply hopped on a hateful bandwagon. But a closer examination of her congressional career reveals that she has no true political position beyond her own ambition.
“National Nancy”
In 2020, Mace defeated Democratic incumbent Joe Cunningham in South Carolina’s first district by less than 6,000 votes. (Republicans have since redrawn the district to make it solidly Republican, which involved removing thousands of Black voters.) For a moment, it looked as if Mace would serve as a centrist alternative to incoming far-right representatives like Lauren Boebert and Marjorie Taylor Greene, both of whom promoted Trump’s lies about the 2020 election.
Mace was not one of the 147 Republican House members who voted to reject Trump’s loss. In fact, she was the only Republican House member from South Carolina who voted to certify Joe Biden’s Electoral College victory. She told NPR's Steve Inskeep on January 7 that “when you read the Constitution, Article II, Section 1, Clause 2 explicitly states, in black and white, that Congress's role here is merely to count the votes of the Electoral College.” “Everything that he’s worked for — his entire legacy — was wiped out yesterday,” she said at the time. She told Meet the Press that Trump put “all our lives at risk.” That was during the brief period when it seemed as though Republicans might finally break with Trump, and Mace swiftly positioned herself as the face of the brave new post-MAGA order. “I want to be a new voice for the Republican Party, and that’s one of the reasons I’ve spoken out so strongly against the president, against these QAnon conspiracy theorists that led us in a constitutional crisis,” she told Meet the Press. “It’s just wrong, and we’ve got to put a stop to it.”
[...]
Mace folds to Trumpism
Mace’s public feud with Greene eventually caused then-Speaker Kevin McCarthy to intervene, but it was the party’s true leader who threatened to end Mace’s career before it really got going. As Godfrey observed, Mace’s actual “position in the GOP ecosystem” was hard to nail down. She didn’t please the bigot wing of the party with her (at the time) tolerant positions on LGBTQ issues. She provoked her diehard MAGA peers while trying to remain on Trump’s good side. She didn’t vote to impeach him after the insurrection, nor did she support the January 6 Committee. But she did vote to hold former Trump adviser Stephen Bannon in contempt of Congress.
Although outspoken Trump foe Liz Cheney held a fundraising event for Mace in April 2021, Mace voted to remove her as GOP conference chair a few weeks later. “Any disagreements we have with each other within our Party should be discussed internally, and not dragged out into public for all to see,” she said in a statement. This explanation was transparently hypocritical — not just because of her later feuds with Boebert and Greene but because Trump himself doesn’t follow Ronald Reagan’s supposed 11th Commandment about never criticizing other Republicans. MAGA only obeys a single commandment — thou shalt have no other gods but Trump. Trump didn’t forget Mace’s public criticism of him after January 6. He endorsed her 2022 primary challenger, Katie Arrington. Trump outright trashed Mace, calling her “disloyal,” “crazy,” and a “terrible person who has no idea what she’s doing.” At a 2022 rally, he even encouraged the crowd to boo the very mention of her name. (Watch below.)
[...] In a January 2023 Semafor article headlined, “America's Next Top Moderate: Which House Republican wants the title?” Mace was listed as one of the "five members who’ve taken on the role of quasi-spokespeople for the Mod Squad” — a group billed as a contrast to the extremist Freedom Caucus, which had thrown the House into chaos over McCarthy’s protracted speakership bid. But by October, Mace had joined Matt Gaetz and other far-right Republicans in their successful bid to oust McCarthy. As Republicans scrambled to replace McCarthy, Mace showed up for a conference meeting wearing a white t-shirt with a red “A” on the front. She told CNN’s Anna Grayer, “I’m wearing the scarlet letter after the week that I just had, last week, being a woman up here and being demonized for my vote and for my voice.” Mace consistently plays the victim in this cynical way. During a memorably disastrous interview earlier this year on ABC, she absurdly accused George Stephanopoulos of “shaming” her as a rape victim because he dared ask how she could support Donald Trump, an adjudicated rapist.
Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) is all about Nancy Mace, nothing more.

Rep. Paul Gosar just won’t stop saluting those white nationalists. The Arizona Republican has dined with them, traveled with them, spoken at their conferences, defended them on social media and promoted their racist themes. He lost his committee assignments in 2021 when he posted a cartoon video of himself killing Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), a Latina. But House Republican leaders, in their wisdom, restored Gosar’s committee status, giving him a seat on the House Oversight Committee. And Gosar this week repaid their confidence in him — by using one of the very first hearings of the committee to promote white nationalism. At a hearing Tuesday on border security, Gosar declared that President Biden has “a plan … to deliberately open our borders and cede power to the cartels,” and thereby create chaos. “What is the answer to this mess for Biden and the Democrats?” he asked. “More big brother? More control? Even changing our culture?” That is the very definition of the racist “great replacement” conspiracy theory: that the left is deliberately importing immigrants to replace White people and White culture
Republicans' weaponization committee lacks one thing: Evidence
Republicans are pig fucking garbage. There are no good, moderate, non-fascist Republicans. They are all racists, misogynists, authoritarian white christian nationalists.
Some claim none of that is true, but when it matters, when the votes are cast, they are all Marjorie Taylor Greene and Matt Gaetz.
It then follows that people who vote for Republicans and then claim to be disappointed in the actions of “a few extremists” are either as stupid as Lauren Boebert, or lying to themselves and anyone who will listen. Whatever the case, these “traditional conservatives” are empowering the lunatics and the fascists.
So, as I keep saying: Republicans are pig fucking garbage.

Matt Gertz at MMFA:
American women covered their country in Olympic glory in Paris on Thursday. Katie Ledecky broke the record for most swimming medals won by a woman when the U.S. team captured silver in the 4x200-meter freestyle, while Simone Biles won gold in her second women’s gymnastics all-around Olympics event and her teammate Suni Lee took the bronze. But on this side of the Atlantic, the American right was apparently more interested in bemoaning the purported death of women’s sports than cheering on their compatriots. The leading lights of the right-wing media spent Thursday melting down over an Olympics welterweight boxing match between two women from Algeria and Italy as they sought to drum up a ragefest they could use to firm up Donald Trump’s wavering election prospects against Vice President Kamala Harris.
Imane Khelif of Algeria won her Olympics boxing match against Italy’s Angela Carini when Carini forfeited after taking several blows to the face in the fight’s opening seconds (in boxing, for those unfamiliar with the sport, competitors try to hit each other in the head as hard as they can and can win by rendering their opponent unconscious). The U.S. right quickly seized on the match and plugged it into their obsessive anti-trans hysteria, falsely declaring Khelif a man who had beaten up a woman.
If you want to know more about Khelif — a veteran of international women’s boxing competition who was eliminated in the quarterfinal round of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and whose passport, from a country where you cannot legally change your gender, identifies her as female — read Paolo Armelli’s story on the controversy for Wired. If you are interested in the history of sports competitions grappling with complex questions about the gender and sex of athletes, my former colleague Parker Molloy wrote nuanced pieces on the subject for Vice News, CJR, and at her Substack.
What was quite clear on Thursday, however, is that the weirdo right, obsessed with conducting bizarre “transvestigations,” doesn’t care about any of this. They simply want to misgender Khelif, invoke the rage associated with domestic violence by claiming she is a man punching a woman, and channel the resulting outrage and anti-trans hate into their own political gain.
A MAGA media frenzy quickly ensued on X after the match, with Riley Gaines, the right-wing activist who built her career complaining about trans women competing in sports, at the heart of the outburst. [...]
This sustained freakout is a perfect example of how the right-wing media has become pickled in its own outrage. They simply cannot let themselves — or anyone else — enjoy good things that normal Americans enjoy, like the dominance of U.S. women at the Olympics. Instead, they build their audiences and make their money by constantly trying to find something they can get mad about. Being a right-winger in good standing in recent years has required working oneself into a culture war frenzy over the NFL, Budweiser beer, Disney movies, Beyoncé, and Taylor Swift, among other all-American icons. [...]
“This is where Kamala Harris's ideas about gender lead: to a grown man pummeling a woman in a boxing match,” vice presidential nominee JD Vance posted to X on Thursday. “This is disgusting, and all of our leaders should condemn it.” His running mate — who a jury found liable for sexual abuse, and who was introduced at the Republican National Convention last month by a man who had been captured on video hitting his wife in the face — chimed in. “I WILL KEEP MEN OUT OF WOMEN’S SPORTS!” Trump posted to Truth Social.
Other Republican politicians, including Texas Gov. Greg Abbott; Reps. Lauren Boebert of Colorado, Anthony D’Esposito of New York, Greg Steube of Florida, and Mike Collins of Georgia; North Carolina gubernatorial nominee Mark Robinson and Senate nominees Hung Cao of Virginia and Kari Lake of Arizona also contributed to the sick debate. Normal people are too busy cheering for American champions like Ledecky and Biles to spend their time doing chalkboard scrawls explaining how Kamala Harris should be blamed for who Algeria sends to the Olympics. But with Trump’s polling lead slipping away and his campaign apparently trying to reignite by focusing on what appeals to the party’s weirdo wing, we can expect much more of this in the months to come.
The right-wing Weirdo Caucus were big mad over two cisgender women boxers to push an anti-trans narrative, and as usual, the likes of anti-trans extremists such as J.K. Rowling, Riley Gaines, Charlie Kirk, and Clay Travis led the charge of faux outrage against Imane Khelif and Lin Yu-Ting’s participation in women’s boxing under the guise of “defending women’s sports.”
