I don't do a lot of politics here (I am vocal on other social media sites for that) but fuck Lauren Boebert. Not only is she a right wing idiot, she's also a fucking nightmare of a theater goer too. Awesome that she was escorted out of the show.

How the fuck is this waste of oxygen a member of Congress?
The Russian dictator is getting our secrets and billions in intelligence for free from Trump.
Ukraine needs money to fight the Russian dictator.
Republicans see Ukraine as the enemy because Russia is their ally.
These are the facts. Lauren Boebert is the dumbest person alive, and she is given a seat at the table to influence Republican policy.

Lauren Boebert trashed a picture of of 10 year old Maite Rodriguez. Maite was murdered in the Uvalde school shooting. Attached was a pin of her green Converse. Those green Converse were the only thing forensics had to identify the little girl.

I can’t help but feel like, on some level, conservative support for utter fucking morons like Elon Musk and Donald Trump comes from pure spite. It’s as if they’re saying, “yeah, we know these guys have the intelligence of a brick; but we’re going to make them presidents and billionaires and public figures because fuck you, that’s why. Because we are so much better than you; that our worst, most idiotic self-centered assholes get positions of power and lives of luxury while your best and brightest can’t even afford a house or healthcare.”

What a grifter!
Donald Trump's presidential campaign wants a cut of fundraising revenue from other Republicans who use his name or picture in their ads.

Congressman Andy Ogles is the one pushing this amendment currently. He is the trump admins pocket.
Here is a persuasive essay you can email to your local congress representative. Disclosure, I used AI to write the first draft then edited it.
Also, I know that this essay sounds forgiving towards the subject, however my representative is Lauren Boebert who is far right. in order to make such a thing persuasive you have to treat stupid topics as if they’re reasonable, otherwise you run the risk of being written off as angry or unreasonable yourself. If you have a democratic representative you can probably take parts out, however, if your representatives are republican or right leaning I suggest leaving it in.
Dear (congress representative),
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the proposed amendment to the U.S. Constitution that would allow for a president to serve three terms in office. While I understand that the motivations behind such an amendment may be rooted in the belief that longer presidential terms could lead to greater stability, I strongly believe that this proposal would be detrimental to the core principles of our democracy and, if passed, could potentially lead our nation down a path toward authoritarianism.
First and foremost, the current limitation of two terms for the presidency, enshrined in the 22nd Amendment, serves as a vital safeguard against the concentration of too much power in a single individual. By limiting a president’s time in office, the amendment ensures that the office remains accountable to the people, preventing any one leader from becoming entrenched in power. Allowing for three terms would only increase the likelihood of one person monopolizing executive authority, effectively diminishing the voice of the electorate.
In a democratic republic like ours, the peaceful transition of power is a fundamental pillar. Our system relies on regular, free elections to reflect the will of the people, ensuring that no single leader can dominate the political landscape for an extended period. The introduction of a third term would undermine this principle, creating the potential for a leader to maintain influence for far too long, thus threatening the balance of power and the healthy turnover that our political system requires to remain vibrant and responsive to the needs of all citizens.
Moreover, this amendment poses the very real risk of leading us toward a form of governance that resembles autocracy rather than democracy. History has shown us that when leaders remain in power for extended periods, it becomes easier to consolidate authority, stifle opposition, and undermine democratic institutions. Many nations that once embraced democratic principles have seen their systems erode after their leaders secured long-term or unlimited rule. This is a path we should avoid at all costs.
Additionally, the notion of three terms creates the potential for dynastic political power. Such a scenario could foster a sense of entitlement among political elites, where the presidency becomes a career rather than a public service, making it harder for new voices and fresh ideas to enter the political arena. Our democracy thrives on the idea that leadership is not a perpetual position but a temporary service entrusted to citizens who are chosen through regular elections.
In conclusion, while the idea of longer presidential terms may seem appealing to some, it is essential to consider the long-term implications such a change would have on the fabric of American democracy. The two-term limit for presidents, as set by the 22nd Amendment, is an essential safeguard against authoritarianism and a vital protector of democratic principles. I urge you to reconsider any support for this proposed amendment and to stand firm in upholding the values that make our country the beacon of freedom and democracy in the world.
Thank you for your time and consideration of this important matter. I trust you will continue to protect the integrity of our democratic system in your capacity as a representative of the people.
Sincerely,
(Your name)

Transcript:
“BREAKING: A constitutional amendment has been filed allowing President Trump to seek a 3rd term in office.
"No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than three times, nor be elected to any additional term after being elected to two consecutive terms, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice."
It was filed by Congressman Andy Ogles (R-TN).
Don’t let this slip by unnoticed. This is not just “one extra term”, it’s a warning shot. It’s a red flag. It’s an omen.
They are slowly turning up the heat in the pan. Do not be the frog who sits denying it’s getting hotter.
One extra term will become two, two will become three, and three will eventually give way to lifelong reign of each president.
Fight. Fight for God’s sake.
Contact your local representative of congress. Convince them we do not want this.
We are going to end up in a dictatorship.
@ikiyou
Please help spread this. I don’t usually get political and I don’t usually ask for assistance but this is important and you have more reach.

Lauren Boebert says, "I do believe that Joe Biden is responsible for the shooting today"
youtube
Transcript:
Kyle Clark: Democrats and Republicans from Colorado's congressional delegation are condemning political violence tonight. And Republican Congresswoman Lauren Boebert is also directly blaming President Joe Biden personally for the shooting
Lauren Boebert: I believe that much of the rhetoric from the left has escalated to this moment. Just last week, we saw Joe Biden trying to excuse his poor performance at the debate and get that behind him and say now we need to put Trump in a bullseye
KC: I'd like to clarify what you just said. Do you believe that President Joe Biden bears any responsibility for what happened today? Or does the responsibility for the shooting lie with the shooter?
LB: I do believe that Joe Biden is responsible for the shooting today, Kyle Clark, an innocent supporter of President Trump, someone who loved President Trump and was there exercising their right to support him, lost their life today. Everyone who has called him a fascist, everyone who has called him a threat to democracy who said that he should be "put in a bullseye," as Joe Biden said. They need to have some very deep reflection tonight before another tragedy like this takes place
KC to the viewer: As for reflection, this is unquestionably a time of incredibly heated rhetoric, every prominent voice in American politics might consider the language they use. But Representative Boebert pushed back on the suggestion that she might recalibrate her own language
KC to LB: Have you given any thought to that about things that you say and how it might contribute to the heated political environment?
LB: Kyle, nothing I have ever said is invited violence. I am not calling for the death of someone. I'm not telling people who follow me uh to put a another political opponent in a bull's eye. There is no place for political violence in America. I completely am opposed to that and I do not condone anyone who would call for any sort of political violence, but I do believe that there is a place to speak truth and to hold those accountable who are causing harm on Americans and that is not a violent thing. I think Republicans will show up at the ballot box and that will be our response to today.
