If you've been wondering why I've been quiet on this blog? It's entirely because of monetary stress making my spoons utterly spent for anything other than Discord.

I attempted to pay my rent last week through paper check. I had the money in the account. There wasn't a single payment processing in the least. I had the money, they just had to deposit the damn thing.

They dragged their feet.

And an auto-pay for my phone put me $195 below what the check required, making it bounce.

I need help. I am so fucking sorry to ask this, but I am also terrified of potential eviction.

One week in, the Trump administration is broadening its assault on the functions of government and shifting control of the federal purse strings further away from members of Congress. President Donald Trump’s budget office on Monday ordered a total freeze on “all federal financial assistance” that could be targeted under his previous executive orders that pausing funding for a wide range of priorities – from domestic infrastructure and energy projects to diversity-related programs and foreign aid. In a two-page memo obtained by POLITICO, the Office of Management and Budget announced all federal agencies would be forced to temporarily suspend payments, while making clear that Social Security and Medicare would not be affected. “The use of Federal resources to advance Marxist equity, transgenderism, and green new deal social engineering policies is a waste of taxpayer dollars that does not improve the day-to-day lives of those we serve,” according to the memo, which three people authenticated.

The new order could affect billions of dollars in grants to state and local governments, while also creating disruptions to programs that benefit U.S. households. But in the immediate aftermath there was also widespread confusion over how the memo would be implemented and whether it may face legal challenges. While the memo says the funding pause does not include assistance “provided directly to individuals,” for instance, it does not clarify whether that includes money sent first to states or organizations and then provided to households. The brief memo also does not detail all payments that will be halted. However, it broadly orders federal agencies to “temporarily” stop sending all federal financial assistance that could be affected by Trump’s executive actions.

That includes the president’s orders to freeze all funding from Democrats’ signature climate and spending law called the Inflation Reduction Act and the bipartisan infrastructure package enacted in 2021, along with a 90-day freeze of all foreign aid. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer in a statement decried the announcement as an example of “more lawlessness and chaos in America as Donald Trump’s Administration blatantly disobeys the law by holding up virtually all vital funds that support programs in every community across the country.”

The OMB under Tyrant 47’s misadministration puts out a “temporary” freeze to most federal aid and grants, including food assistance, Medicaid, farm aid, Head Start, and rent assistance. Social Security and Medicare are exempted.

This is dangerous and dictatorial, and must be resisted.

Hey folks, we're going to be short on rent again. What's worse, part of our rent early autopay went through & our bank account was over $500 in the negative for a few weeks.

Currently, we're the only one in the house with a job, but our first paycheck won't come in until next year. We're good on food thanks to food stamps. And we *should* receive another $342 from unemployment before the end of the month. Who knows with the holidays.

Rent is due on the 1st, but we'll need it sooner than that because of payment processing times over holidays. I think if we're calculating everything right, we'll only need about $50 as long as there's no surprises.

URGENT $3,000 MUTUAL AID NEED DUE TO ERROR IN DISABILITY BENEFITS CASE:

I applied for disability benefits (this is my second time doing so. my first try was when i was 18-19 years old, i have several mental illnesses that are the worst they’ve been in years due to emotional strain and stress, chronic pain disorder and potentially EDS (i’m waiting to see my new neurologist next week to mention that)) in october and was interviewed for my case within a few days. i gave the agent every detail imaginable from financial setbacks, my full disability related medical history and names of every doctor i’ve seen over the years, and my lack of financial income and options. the agent submitted my application incorrectly according to the agent i spoke to yesterday, after MONTHS of being unable to get any answers, and receiving no letters or phone calls or emails. the dates in the attached screenshots show inaccuracies in application VS decision VS current processing. i haven’t received any official denial but was told so on the phone yesterday.

i finally accepted that reapplying was my only option at this point which is something i’ve felt a lot of shame about and hopelessness about, but i’ve started having balance issues and falls which lead me to finally reapply in october. i’m also really struggling mentally and grieving my mother who passed in 2023 and my oldest brother who passed in august. i tried to figure this out on my own but i couldn’t and can’t. i’m $3,000 behind on rent currently and urgently need to raise that amount and i mean AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I CANT STRESS HOW MUCH OF AN EMERGENCY THIS IS ESPECIALLY AS LIVE IN A STATE AWAY FROM ANY FAMILY!!

i will have to move back to my home state because i am in need of a scope of emotional support and honestly, supervision to an extent, that i just can’t get here. so i’m also ultimately in need of money to move from new york back to georgia (ideally i’d be able to hire state-to-state movers to transport my belongings and i could maybe physically handle a flight but it is more likely i’d need the movers to allow me to travel with them). i don’t think my dad will feel at peace if i stay here, and i know he’s very afraid of my mental health declining even further because i had come very far in comparison to past years.

Need just under $200 to pay rent tomorrow because the electricity bill jumped from $160 to $300 with the current heat wave of high 80s-98+ with humidity bringing it up to 110 for an entire week in a row 🤦

The electricity bill at least is nice and lets you pay at an arranged later date with no repercussions if you've consistently paid in full, but that only helps with me being able to delay it until I get paid on the 5th, while rent is on the 1st 💀

and then if the electricity is even higher that means I'm probably gonna be behind on rent again because we don't have EBT anymore and have to buy all food and water with my single 2 paychecks per month.

$1,100 rent + ~$300-$400+ electric bill leaves me less than $300 for groceries which doesn't include expenses like pet food, medicine, menstrual supplies, shoes or clothes for work, etc.

I hate capitalism. You'd think they'd at least make Pay Day and Rent on the same day, for the 78% of Americans living paycheck to paycheck.

Hi, I hate to do this yet again, but it seems like something always goes wrong. My roommate's doctor REFUSED to fill out important paperwork, which caused a lapse in her Medicaid and insurance. Insurance which paid me to take care of her through the CDPAS program in New York. I just noticed that I haven't been paid for the past two weeks, and January's rent is coming due in just a couple of short weeks. We need emergency help.
