It would be great if the success of the "500 cigarettes" memes gets people interested in The Orville and gets the show renewed for season 4 and beyond.
Anyway you should watch The Orville, it's a great show. It's not just a Star Trek parody. It's a genuine homage with great storylines in addition to having more humor.

Third Army we need you! Cancelled Sci Fi is holding a poll about which TV shows are most deserving of renewal. They will share the poll results with the streaming networks and this boosts the chances of renewal. They also host pages for fan run campaigns to save shows and we are currently working on a summary of our actions in order to request such a page. The only problem is that Shadow and Bone is not listed in the poll as of yet, so we need you to request that Shadow and Bone be added to the poll at the following link:

Wake up, union officers, orvillians, trekkers and Questers!
Wake up!
Wake up! I will tag Star Trek for, uh, people who don't like the new trek, liked the parody better, the one that aired on Fox for two years, don't get their news immediately regarding it's renewal or anything. Forgive me for tagging this post with that show if you don't like it, it's for the other fans!
This is for the people like this neat little show that's like a seven course meal across ten episodes in the third season. you know that show. the one with Domino. The Tale of Two Topas. The Q-elley continuum.
The Orville movie vibes.
Yeah!
That one!
Orville season 4 starts filming January 2025!
Praise Avis!

so from all the twitter rumors I've divined that:
-seems PRETTY likely that The Orville was renewed, but we won't hear this news for awhile?
-if true, it sounds like filming won't start until 2025, but you know what? I'm fine with waiting as long as it comes. We had to wait FOREVER for New Horizons and it was 100000% worth it because that is one of the finest seasons of television I've seen in a long while. I appreciate that this show takes the time to get it right, I know the VFX houses that worked on New Horizons are extremely proud of the work they've done because unlike what the Marvel machine does, they had the time to do beautiful work. And it really is beautiful work. Every episode of New Horizons felt like a feature film.
-Seth has repeatedly said that it will take time if it's renewed, because they have to get everyone under contract again, but he's also said that he's not worried about getting everyone back on board because the cast loves it
-in January he said it was "50/50" that it would be renewed
-in February/March rumors began floating around that season 4 was being written
-as an aside, I have noticed social media activity for this show has increased a lot? especially here on tumblr. The Orville tag has suddenly gotten kind of bumpin as opposed to a couple years ago when New Horizons was actually airing and I'd go to "the orville" tag and 90% of the posts were about Orville Peck. I think it's done well for Disney.
-idk, I'm feeling bullish on this one? Seth wants to make more of this show and he has a really good track record of getting his way with networks when he really wants to keep a show going.

also more odds & ends orville info & more not Not orville/phil info as well:
"In Steinkellner’s version of Summer Stock, Jane Falbury (Danielle Wade) and “Pop,” her father (Stephen Lee Anderson), are struggling to hang on to the family farm. Their farm is one of the few in the Connecticut River Valley that hasn’t been absorbed by the Wingates, whose holdings completely surround theirs.
The widow Margaret Wingate (Veanne Cox), whom son Orville (Will Roland) aptly describes as having eyes “as cold as death itself,” plans to absorb the Falbury farm by the simple expedient of having Orville marry Jane. After all the two kids had decided they were engaged in first grade!
Enter the prodigal younger sister Gloria (Arianna Rosario) who has been seduced by the lure of the Great White Way. She returns to the farm bringing along Joe Ross (Corbin Bleu in the Gene Kelly role), the director of the show that will make her a star, its composer Phil Filmore (Gilbert L. Bailey II), and the entire company. She has generously offered the company, which can’t afford rehearsal space in New York, the use of the family farm’s barn. Sister Jane reluctantly agrees to the intrusion with the proviso that the thespians will double as farm hands.
As rehearsals progress, Phil discovers that Orville, a bit of a doormat who has been raised with the understanding that he will never have to work, is a musical wunderkind. He is enlisted to work his magic on the show’s score and begins to blossom.
Widow Wingate takes umbrage with all this and vows to shut the enterprise down. Fortunately, the cold embers in her soul are stirred to renewed life by her encounter with Montgomery Leach (J. Anthony Crane), the has-been ham enlisted to give Ross’s show some cachet, so all might not be lost.
[...]
They make this Summer Stock a veritable feast of nostalgia. I was especially taken by the amusing way Steinkellner used Jackie Gleason’s theme song “Always” to further widow Wingate’s plot to get Jane and Orville hitched.
[...]
Orville, who has found personal liberation in show biz, is accorded a moment that reminded me of a similar scene in the musical version of The Producers. In a triumphant declaration of his emergence from under his mother’s thumb he exults, “I’m in the theatre! And I love it!” The audience loved it, too.
[...]
As director, Feore has elicited some wonderful performances, especially from subsidiary characters. Veanne Cox is splendid as Margaret Wingate as is J. Anthony Crane as Montgomery Leach, the faded matinee idol. Will Roland (Orville) and Gilbert L. Bailey II (Phil) both have wonderful moments and their intense professional friendship is one of the show’s highlights."
INTENSE PROFESSIONAL FRIENDSHIP you say....and also ofc everything about orville and wanting to be a musician and being in the theatre and he loves it sounds so good. i love it
#summer stock#orville wingate#will roland#also i guess they Are ambiently together / ''engaged'' already then lol#very cute really ''decided they were engaged in first grade''...and illustrative of both just kinda having been stuck in life the whole tim#mention of how the gene kelly epic solo tap sequence that i can muse on context for but Does just kinda happen#now does have more context and like. a part in an arc lol. which also gene/joe just doesn't have much of at all in the film; so (an arc)#needless bit at the end as the reviewer is skeptical this show could be on broadway basically b/c it's not ''edgy'' enough#which is then bafflingly & exhaustingly explained w/juxtaposing ''disclaimers'' abt the content in Other shows on broadway#which is bad; irrelevant; bigoted; and also unfair not just to those shows but summer stock lol. and like everything. and everyone.#get tf outta here....talking about like well gee i guess an ontario reviewer like me might enjoy it but in New York....#like it's an nyt critics pick okay cool it. have Only read glowing reviews save the one critic who Didn't like the warm feelgood deal.#which is sure a thing that's possible to experience (though i don't think it makes for a Well Executed; Useful Review to hinge it on that)#but (a) warm feelgood material isn't like. riskier than what you deem Not ''unfashionably'' ''old-fashioned'' there#& (b) like many reviews point out that the feelgoodness Could've fallen flat or short or been too much but it was balanced / well executed#like don't come in here insulting the show with your supposed compliments lmao....Bizarre brushstroke of [ugh you know bway] shows....#which it then gestures broadly at as shows with a ''message''....just tiresome & useless little tangent at the end smhhh#anyways really do love this for orville. was already wondering if he plays that piano we see them dancing with...their adorable meetcute?#i would like to see it....makes it seem even more likely. or who knows if it's orville just reading some music left At that piano#and singing but also composing? arranging? in doing so....harmonizing....etc#i bet it's a delight. he Does get to work on the show....he's truly getting I Don't Dance'd brought into the show/theatre ft. bisexuality#taking votes for whether he's chad or ryan in that situation. the one not already in theatre but also the one attached to the antagonist

In terms of Caberet, do you think I should try to see it with Auli’i, or wait for Eva Noblezada to be Sally? (I have seen Eva in Hadestown if that changes anything)
you’re *the* sapphic Broadway maven, even as both of those stars are younger than your range, and I fully trust your judgement
If you're more-or-less equally willing to see either of the leading ladies, then in a shocking turn of events, I'm going to say you should also weigh whether you want to see Adam Lambert or Orville Peck more. Ultimately, I hate everything about how this Sally is directed, so regardless of who's playing her, the Sally actress has no bearing on who I'd pick. Either way, it's just a matter of who you'd like more. I hear nothing but good things about Lambert's interpretation. Much better than his predecessor. Peck has done a bit of theatre, but he's London-trained (and I'm a bitchy snob who has nothing but negative things to say about musical theatre talent out of the West End). It's a shame Lambert and Eva Noblezada won't get to overlap, because that seems like it would be the best scenario. I think Noblezada is a very talented young performer. In the chatter, I've heard almost nothing about Auli'i Cravalho's performance, though Donna Murphy had nothing but raves to say in her review.
But actually, the real answer is whether you want to guarantee you see Bebe Neuwirth, barring any unexpected absence. We don't know if she and Steven Skybell are going to renew their contracts, and I wouldn't count on it. They've been in the show for a year, and signing a contract extension would be pretty surprising (more so for Bebe, who's in higher demand outside of this show). For me, I'd go in this January slump time to a. hopefully get cheaper tickets, and b. see her in what should have been a Tony-winning performance. I'll die on that hill. She was robbed. I said it.
#i hated it but i do kind of want to see it again with the current cast to see if maybe a better emcee and a WOC sally would help it along#it pops up on tdf from time to time but even $60 is more than I'd want to pay#if/when you decide what to do let me know

Skyward Soaring: A Journey Through the Evolution of Air Travel
The history of air travel is a testament to human ingenuity and innovation. From the pioneering flights of the Wright Brothers to the era of supersonic jets, aviation's evolution has transformed the way we connect, explore, and experience the world. This journey through time highlights the remarkable advancements that have shaped the modern aviation industry and revolutionized how we navigate the skies.
The Pioneering Spirit: The Wright Brothers
At the turn of the 20th century, Orville and Wilbur Wright achieved a milestone that would change the course of history—the first powered flight. On December 17, 1903, their aircraft, the Wright Flyer, successfully lifted off the sandy dunes of Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, marking the birth of modern aviation. Their innovative design and relentless determination paved the way for future generations of aviators and sparked a new era of exploration.
The Golden Age of Aviation
Following the breakthrough of the Wright Brothers, aviation rapidly progressed, leading to the Golden Age of Aviation in the 1920s and 1930s. Commercial air travel began to take flight during this period, with airlines offering passenger services across continents. Iconic aircraft such as the Ford Trimotor and the Douglas DC-3 became symbols of luxury and adventure, making air travel accessible to a growing number of people around the world. The introduction of air routes, airports, and navigation systems laid the groundwork for today's global aviation network.
The Jet Age: Breaking the Sound Barrier
The post-World War II era saw the dawn of the Jet Age, marked by the development of faster and more efficient aircraft powered by jet engines. In 1947, Chuck Yeager famously broke the sound barrier in the Bell X-1, demonstrating the feasibility of supersonic flight. This achievement paved the way for the development of supersonic passenger jets, such as the iconic Concorde, which offered unprecedented speed and luxury for transatlantic travelers. Although the Concorde was retired in 2003, its legacy continues to inspire advancements in supersonic travel, with new technologies promising to bring back the thrill of faster-than-sound flights shortly.
The Digital Revolution: Fly-By-Wire Technology
Advancements in technology have played a pivotal role in shaping the modern aviation landscape. The introduction of fly-by-wire systems, which replaced traditional mechanical controls with electronic interfaces, revolutionized aircraft design and performance. Fly-by-wire technology provides pilots with enhanced control and automation, resulting in safer and more efficient flights. Furthermore, integrating digital avionics systems has enabled real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, and data-driven decision-making, ushering in a new era of intelligent and connected aircraft.
Sustainable Aviation: Towards Greener Skies
As concerns over climate change mount, the aviation industry faces increasing pressure to reduce its environmental footprint. In response, aircraft manufacturers and airlines are investing in sustainable technologies and alternative fuels to mitigate the impact of air travel on the planet. Electric and hybrid-electric propulsion systems, biofuels derived from renewable sources, and improved aerodynamics are some innovations driving the transition toward greener skies. While the journey towards sustainable aviation remains ongoing, these efforts signal a commitment to environmental stewardship and the future of flight.
The Future of Air Travel: Urban Air Mobility and Beyond
The future of air travel holds exciting possibilities, from urban air mobility solutions to space tourism ventures. Advances in autonomous flight technology, vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) aircraft, and aerial taxis promise to revolutionize urban transportation and redefine the concept of commuting. Meanwhile, commercial space travel ventures by SpaceX and Blue Origin are poised to make space tourism a reality for adventurous travelers. As we stand on the cusp of a new era in aviation, the sky is no longer the limit—it's just the beginning.
The evolution of air travel from the humble beginnings of the Wright Brothers to the era of supersonic jets represents a testament to human innovation and progress. Through centuries of exploration, experimentation, and technological advancement, we have unlocked the boundless potential of the skies and connected the world in ways once unimaginable. As we embark on the next chapter of aviation history, let us embrace the spirit of discovery and adventure that has propelled us forward, shaping the future of flight for generations to come.
