May never come to reality but im planning out a Animatic to AJR's 'Maybe Man' (sue me) and need some help filling in some of the parts.

(Its probably going to be about all the life series in general not specifically Wild life. but feel free to try it fit it all in one series)

General plan so far:

First Half(ish) will be calmly looking at hermits in their peaceful habitats talking about their insecurities.

Finishing the first half when we get to the god part it will be Grian before life series started pleading to watchers and becoming one himself then cutting to him and all the other lifers standing around in a circle (like the start of each series) (much wow)

Ren - He's like...some wealthy rich kid. I like to think he's an heir and supposed to inherit some company but he's never taken the thing seriously. He'll never talk about his family tho, mostly his dad, his mother left him and Ren doesn't remember her.

tbh I don't think anyone knows he's like rich lol. Maybe Asaka and Tetsu but he doesn't really act the type?? Maybe he throws money around...at cards mostly but man does not live that lavish lifestyle.

Probably gets cut off some funds when he's an adult but idk I can see him saving money or finding a way to have cash so he's p set doing...whatever it is he does as an adult (pre branch chief).

I joked once that he could probably get away with working anywhere and I kinda believe it?? Man says he works here and can play it off like nothing but only works one day and is never seen again...

Would randomly crash into his homies places in the middle of the night. You're sleeping? No problem. Ren is there, maybe grabbing something from the fridge before sleeping on the couch or the bed. It's impossible to Ren proof your home.

Asshole would 100% pick a random box from a cardshop and it has the most expensive Shadow Paladin card in it. Doesn't even need Psyqualia this just happens naturally.

Aichi - He's good with speaking other languages like...he knows the words/phrases/whatever to say but thinking isn't the same as speaking. So he usually trips over his words. Can translate very well just give him a sec so he doesn't mess up words.

100% a lil bookworm. Didn't have a lot of friends in his youth so he turned to books. That was like his escape fantasy along with thinking of Vanguard.

No matter how much more confident he is in his older years...he still struggles with public speaking. Please don't make him go up and talk to the crowd...he's so nervous...

Likes to send Emi and his mom gifts!! Little things from traveling. Would send Emi ocean/mermaid related things and I think in a note somewhere his mom plays Vanguard too (I think it was something to do with hot men?? let it be touken ranbu...) he'll send her things related to what she plays and just whatever she wants lol

Kazumi - Hates his family lmao. He's on bad terms with his father and is a little better with his mom but not really. The only good one in his fam was Kazuma (pleading emoji).

Knows how to conceal his true feelings p well?? He has to in the business world and around his parents. So he'll bottle up things a lot. His more childish side peeks through usually during Vanguard or when he's around people he knows he can relax with.

Wants to learn how to cook and kinda be on his own?? He doesn't want to rely on his family's wealth and probably only uses it for housing, away from the main house, but he wants to be able to live on his own and not follow the family name.

Has a lil...dragon collection. Maybe it's cuz of Shiranui but I like to think he collects little dragon trinkets. Please don't let him go off about his collection because he will. Also is v proud of it.

Mamoru - He doesn't make dad jokes, other people make dad jokes for him!! He takes care of Ryuzu and just kinda...adopted him?? Yeah the whole association is supposed to take care of him but legally he is Mamoru's kid.

He needs to take better care of himself. Probably eats fast food or whatever the dragon empire cafeteria has that's quick and can be found sleeping at his desk, especially during the heavier seasons. Tokoha usually helps him out but he's gotten a little better at it.

Probably would have been like...a teacher or something in that field if he wasn't doing Vanguard. That wouldn't be his go to or something he aspired at first but that's what he would have settled upon.

Somehow knows everyone. Could say hi to someone on the street and has seen/spoken to them before. I like to think he's kinda famous cuz of his status and all the stuff he does but like...a lot of locals know him too. Support the community!!

Yuyu - Ends up going to the student council because of Raika lol. I don't think he'd go for any of the president or VP seats but would do something like secretary or treasurer.

Would go out of state for college!! He wants to be a pro Vanguard fighter but wants to get a degree for his fam. His sisters all have degrees so baby boy has to do it to!!

Probably genderfluid. tbh? Doesn't mind dressing up as feminine but doesn't quite like the frilly dresses his sisters pick out for him. I think he'd like more of the androgynous stuff.

He's not into max rarity for his decks. He pulls like 1 SP/FFR and is like aight cool. At most he'd would make his sideline bling but wouldn't go insane over it. Also he's a high schooler so he has no budget for this lskfjds

Tohya - Got disowned from his fam. Or at least kicked out of his house due to dropping out of med school. Homie was on his way to the big doctor leagues and then...gives it up for silly cardboard?? Yeah no his fam ain't having that bye bye.

He didn't finish school yeah but tbh he could be like...a roaming doctor. I think he was the top of his class and he knows his shit (and probably studies up on the side but not that much) so he knows what's up. Charges you with a cardfight instead of money. help him.

Stopped eating ramen for a while. Man was traumatized by the ramen challenge. It's okay he got over it and he can eat cup noodles on his own now.

So my first question anon is how much do you know about Cirque du Soleil because that will inform how much you understand the idea of this au and its intensity as a theatre/circus au

For the people in the audience who know not the joys of a Cirque du Soleil show, consider a classic circus. It is entertainment, it is a close knit company of actors and performers and stage hands travelling for months on end, it is a family. They seek to thrill and awe an audience with their skills, their ability to draw gasps and fear and applause and joy in equal measure through the movements of their bodies in the center ring.

Now consider a theatre company, a typical playhouse. It is entertainment, it is a close knit company of actors and performers and stage hands in the confined space of a theatre for months on end, it is a family. They seek to tell a story to an audience, to draw them in and live the tale unfolding on stage through their way with spoken word and body language.

Now find yourself the masters of these crafts. The créme de la créme of clowns and tragedians. Of acrobats and ballet dancers. Of stage hands and technical engineers. Of choreographers and writers.

And you create a performance that is a showcase in the mastery of the theatrical arts. A travelling show like no other that will make the audience laugh and cry in equal measure. That takes the idea of a circus to the absolute limits, and then pushes past them.

You create Cirque du Soleil.

I have, tragically, never seen a Cirque du Soleil show in person. Someday I will! But many performances are available on their YouTube if folks want to go watch to get a proper idea of what I'm attempting to convey.

These shows have moving stages, practical effects, puppetry, pyrotechnics in some cases! Many of the performers are basically olympic level athletes as well as phenomenal actors. The mastery of mime work and traditional theatrical clowns is inspiring. The stories told through the performances are beautiful and moving in ways I cannot always properly describe.

I am forever grateful to my highschool Theatre Tech teacher for introducing me to Cirque du Soleil. Babby theatre nerd me's dream was to be a stage hand for Cirque du Soleil. I dont think I could handle the stress these days, but I can appreciate it from afar.

So! Now that you understand the bedrock of this AU, lets talk about Treebark.

This is in its infancy and I am still noodling with how I want to do this, but right now...

So my thoughts are that Martyn is a tech hand originally but Grian convinces him to understudy for The Hand. Ren is one of the leads for The Death of the Red King part of the massive story performance.

The original person to play The Hand has to drop from the performance shortly before its set to start touring. So they have to very quickly make sure Martyn is up to snuff (and he is, he's done bit parts before and can act, and they wouldnt have hired him if he wasnt good at the necessary acrobatics).

And Martyn doesnt know Ren terribly well. Like they know each other. Like any circus, Cirque performers are a relatively close knit company. But Martyn doesnt KNOW know him. And this is their first time performing together.

And I havent thought PAST that beyond your typical theatre au tropes where their relationship develops off stage and it intensifies the on stage performance and then add in the circus au where during a performance one of them gets seriously hurt (Ren) and what comes from that. and the drama of everything behind the scenes which culminates in intensity on stage because character bleed is a THING even in acting and theatre.

Also something something audience participation is a thing in Cirque shows

⊹ Teque’evira’zure (Fixer 65) — Darrash deeply admires Evira’s frankness and pragmatism in the light of numerous looming, dooming, and straight-up glooming emergencies. Evira can’t ever get enough of how Darrash is so unapologetic about the way he views the galaxy - somehow so closed, yet so understanding of it all.

⊹ Mart’adasha’zoani (Unknown Cipher) — Darrash thinks that Adasha is just a genuine prick. He loves it. And Adasha never denies it, until he gets sent out in the trenches (probably Quesh) and comes back to realize .. yeah that’s why Darrash acts like that. He gets it now. Massive respect.

⊹ Sark’anin’loski (Fixer 40-90) — Darrash thinks that Kaninl is just there sometimes. He looks really out of it.. he’s usually just floating through briefings and other meetings and lectures, but he is still a fully trained and capable Cipher who has more than proven his worth - just look at the mountain of accolades behind him. Kaninl thinks it’s funny that Darrash always looks so wound up even at rest (he scrunches his face in his sleep!) and will do his best to comfort the little Human.

⊹ Ilev’ari’do (Unknown Cipher) (@puirell) — Without condemning nor condoning, they understand one another.

⊹ Uvotau (Cipher 16) — Darrash feels bad for snatching the valedictorian spot from her so close to their graduation. Uvotau is happy that she lost it because she wouldn’t have made it through .. all of that.

⊹ Thulnias Oeth (Minder 85-10) — Darrash hoped there were no hard feelings regarding how he had to practically kidnap her, hogtie her, then stuck her in a crate to mail to her father Falner as a warning. Thulnias didn’t take it personally at all and, once she heard what her father had done, understands that she would have done the same thing. She’s mostly grateful that Darrash didn’t choose to outright assassinate her and THEN mail her to her father.

|| His friends from technically outside Intelligence:

⊹ Tika Kiza — Oh wow! Darrash’s first love, and the person who planted that seed of promise in his mind that there will always be another way. Darrash admired her endless optimism, even if she was sometimes desperate to see the brighter side and greener grass in somewhere as roiling as Nar Shaddaa. Tika sees how Darrash is always more than willing to throw himself into the line of fire for his loved ones; he’s done so twice for her, and knows he’s done it for others.

⊹ Eckard Lokin — Technically not a friend, but more of like Darrash’s third father (first being his biological, then Tylado I mean Watcher 17 I mean Keeper I mean Minister, and Eckard being Minister’s husband……..) - Lokin sees that dogged “I won’t give up” mentality Darrash has as both a blessing and a curse under threat of literal tranquilizers. Darrash thinks that Lokin is insane, but is also one of the most sane people he’s met in that profession anyway! It’s a win-win!

⊹ Vector Hyllus — VECTOR. THE HUSBAND. THE DARLING. Vector’s loved before. He’s also changed as a person; it wasn’t because of his Joining that he fell out of love with Anora, but even before then - that’s why he cut it off. But Vector fell in love again! With Darrash’s dedication to a promise, to diplomacy, and to genuinely trying his best. Even when deathly ill, when losing touch with himself, he did not succumb to urge. On the same hand, Darrash fell in love with Vector at first sight.. but spending more time with the Joiner and learning who he was - who he is. 

⊹ Raina Temple — This is Darrash’s baby sister now, just as much as his protégé. They bonded quickly with Darrash finding a void to fill I mean new friend. Raina looked up to him as a mentor first, then as a brother she never had - in the way he didn’t use the book but instead went AROUND the book. He taught her from his experience instead of the booksmarts. They’ve just got such a deep, unspoken sibling trust between them forged in the possible year-and-some-change they were even able to spend together.

⊹ Chance + Saber — The other two operatives he met while working with the SIS cell, and the two he tried his best to spare after his hand being forced in the suicide of Ardun Kothe. The both of them he views as more of his little siblings, ones to tuck under his arms and protect as best he can. In their eyes, Darrash is still the most intriguing agent they’ve ever met. They figured he was probably serious about defecting, and even Chance brought it up more than once, but when they saw him return to the Empire.. they could hold some veritable credit that Darrash really was trying to make the place a little better from the inside. || And his childhood friends: ⊹ Milknose + Dewdrop — Two Evocii that were apart of Darrash’s little childhood gang, most skilled in keeping eyes and ears out for any new drop boxes in the marshes. Where they admired Darrash’s will to even go out there and find them let alone break into them, Darrash admired them for the fact that they still stayed awake at night on longer operations, making sure that everyone came home safe and refusing to rest until.⊹ Chyvuri + Cromyn Lhilan — These are two Togorians (tabby tiger!) that were in the small gang. Both are older than Darrash. Chyvuri was probably the biggest culprit of babying him for his entire stay, given he wasn’t much older than her little runt brother Cromyn. Cromyn was only enabling this because, despite still being much larger than Darrash, he still stole in on the snuggles. They both became dear protectors in Darrash’s eyes, because no matter what happened .. at least one of them was always by his side in a flash to offer any help they could. Usually just brawn.⊹ Wlish’votho’blanor — Did you mean: Darrash’s baby brother? Because you’d be right. Hvotho’s earliest memories are full of Darrash’s voice and warm smile and gentle embrace, his humming. He carried those memories on his uh. unwilling journey across the galaxy before finally finding some peace. Darrash naturally just biases him because he was the one making and giving Hvotho his bottle, considering they’d found him as an abandoned orphan out in the wet nasty. (And there are a handful more I haven’t fully dev’d! But they love their lil guy!)

8 — What is a smell that makes them feel at home? ✎ Darrash will visibly melt in real time if he smells a good homemade stew on the fire. Hardly matters what’s in it, but something about the heat, the smell of meat simmering in the broth, how he feels simultaneously starving and already full..

9 — How would they react if a person they love (friends and family included) gave them a flower bouquet unexpectedly? ✎ If from his husband, Vector, he will actually start crying. His handful of friends close enough, it’s a tad questionable between their motives - in some cases he would immediately suspect that there is some cataclysmic event either going on or imminent; in other cases he will assume the flowers are poisoned and quietly set them down. (That last one is just Varido.)

14 — Quickly, let them give us some life advice! ✎ “When in doubt, murder is - in fact - not always the best option. Maybe copious amounts of bodily harm, but sometimes they’re more useful alive.

What I mean to say is, don’t always go for the easy and most immediately-gratifying option. Sometimes the best way is the way you dread most.”

16 — What was the happiest moment of their life? ✎ Darrash was about five years old. His mother came home late in the evening with a small bag containing leftovers from dinner service - Darrash had been waiting by the door for her to come back. (Masjona wasn’t coming home with her that day, he was overnighting at the palace. Johkel was with him.) He wasn’t afraid of being home alone but he did miss her to the point of breaking into tears when the door slid open, running straight into her hip and clinging to her as tight as he could. She sat him down in her lap and held him for a few moments before reaching out for a comb to clean up his hair, putting it in a neat bun before she kissed his forehead. Danwya made sure he knew that she loved him very dearly, no matter what, no matter what.

20 — What is their hidden talent? Is that a skill they’ve been practicing since childhood or just something they happen to know and never had the chance to show? Besides, was it something forced upon them, taught by someone close, or they picked it up themselves? ✎ A tad cliché but I’ll say his Force Sensitivity. It’s not really hidden though. He used it passively as a child for stealth reasons (like augmenting his speed, or sensing how many people were in a room) but very seldom for telekinesis. Nothing bigger than credits or picking locks. When he was taken to Intelligence, he was taught to suppress it as much as possible - only for use in dire situations. No interrogating, no torturing, just be a normal fucking person. He did use it rarely, mostly in the field without any prying eyes or wayward Sith.

I’m debating on whether or not I’m gonna wear one of my black corsets (either a full one or a brocade/vest type) - then my black pleather skirt under it. And probably the pink and white cow print tights I showed you, with my new chunky high heel Mary Janes. Darrash would wear the fuck out of this. Literally.

41 — If they were a bath bomb, what scents and colors would you use to describe their personality? ✎ Something that smells heady and almost too overwhelming when you pick it up from the basket and sniff it dry, but mellows out once it hits the steamy hot water. It’s like, fresh cut grass IN THE GOOD WAY NOT THE KIND THAT MAKES YOUR ALLERGIES FUCK UP. And deep-bloom flowers, fresh-cut green vegetables and augh. Outside. But in a good way. The kind of outside that makes you remember that there are good things in life. As for colors, I’d be cheeky enough to make it that obnoxious yellow-wash of Hutta.

Fantasy Month :The Pirates of Dark Water(First 5 episodes)

Gonna do something different for this entry ,will be looking at a TV show,in this case the ahead of its time Hannah Barbera series The Pirates of Dark Water .I will only be only covering the 5 opening episodes wh8ich made up the openi8ng miniseries

In this 1991 seried we follow Ren (George Newbern ) ,the long lost son of King Primus ,as he ventures,along with his companions Ioz(Hector Elizondo ),Tula (Jodie Benson) and Niddler (Frank Welker ) on a quest to save the world of Mer from a dangerous force called the Dark Water ,by finding the 13 treaures of Rule before the the ruthless pirate Bloth (Brock Peters)

SO the word for this show is ambitious .This show is between the toyetic cartoons of the 80's and the more serious story driven shows of the 90's .This is a show where the heroes can be self serving and not always get along :Yeah Ren is noble,but Tula has her own agenda ,Niddler is food driven ,and Ioz is a greedy pirate .....And I like that dynamic,they are friends but theres is some shakiness there .Also I dont wanna say its dark but unlike a lot of shows from this era ,PEOPLE DIE ! Not gruesomely but In these first 5 episodes I think 6 people die ,so it gives stakes to the story.What also sets it apart from shows of its era is the fact there is a ongoing story:This is a mcguffin chase with a set number of things to get ,which is unusal for a show from this period

The ambitionalso goers to the designs and animations.I know Hannah Barbera is associated with cheap animation but there are some really intricate designs here and for a Saturday morning cartoon from the 90's the animation is pretty decent .The designs for all the monsters,creatures and characters are creative .Design wise I love the creatures known as monkeybirds which is Niddlers species .It does kind of lean into the Dick Tracy mindset a little with how exaggerated and grotesque the villains are ,though I do adore Bloths design ,very big and menacing

It also has an excellent voice cast of rather well known actors :GEorge Newbern from Father of the Bride (THough people might know him more as Superman and Sephiroth ),character Hector Elizondo ,Jodi Benson from the Little Mermaid ,veteren actor Brock Peter and even cult favorite Tim Curry make up our main casts ,plus well known voice talent like Frank Welker and Peter Cullen .Hell Roddy McDowall was in this......But not on the version you can watch.See when this was a miniseries McDowall was cast as Niddler the Monkey Bird ,but when it was brought to series he was replaced by Frank Welker,and Welker redubbed the first 5 episodes .I've listened to a few clips of McDowalls take,I think its a shame they redubbed him,but I also really like Welkers more comedic take,so I am split .I think all the acting is good and every actor fits their role :George Newbern has a idealistic and youthful energy as Ren,Hector Elizondo fits the lovable rogue type,Jodi Benson is always great ,Tim Curry plays against type as Bloths bumbeling henchman Konk and he is really good at it ,Peter Cullen is menacing as Bloths second in command Mantus,and I am a Brock Peters fan so it is a delight to hear him ham it up while being genuinely menacing as the series main villain Bloth (Bloth is also my favorite character ,no surprise cause I love villains and I love Brock Peters )

Now I do have a problem with the show and its the fact the world building can be sloppy.The Dark Water is not explained well despite the fact other then Bloth it is the main threat ,REn just happens to know Konks name despite not really being introduced to each other and Niddler just knows where Tula is from despite that not being established .The world itself is really cool and I dig it

Now by watching only the opening arc I was asking a question of myself "Is this a show I would want to wactch more of"......And the answer is HELL YES !!! This is a very good show ,it reminds me of stuff like Samurai Jack and Avatar the Last Airbender just not as polished .I think it is underrated and very much deserving of a cult status .I like the character dynamics,the world is cool,its got a great villain,if you havent seen it check it out

Feeling Insecure In Relationship;

Thanks for the ask, anon :)).

One of the reasons i love Akito is how realistic she is written. Why Akito treated zodiac badly if she was scared of being abandonded? Why abuse victims end up still being in a abusive relationships? Why people's fear turns to reality? Is it concidence or fate? How a person behave when they feel insecure in relationships? As much as many people prefer to not search a reason behind this, there is a pyschological explanation for all of this and lets dig into it.

I remember seeng comments such as ‘if she was afraid of abandonded, she should treat them nice’. I think many people dont understand how a person behave when they realy feel really insecure. There is high difference between thinking that other person will leave you and thinking that other person will actually leave you.

First of all, its important to remember that we all have some insecurities, at least some point in our life but 1- not everyone’s degree of insecurities are not same 2- not everyone in same sitution.

Insecurity is an inner feeling of being threatened and/or inadequate in some way. We’ve all felt it at one time or another. But while it’s quite normal to have feelings of self-doubt once in a while, chronic insecurity can sabotage your success in life and can be particularly damaging to your intimate relationships. In Akito’s sitution, her insecurities started with her mother, her constant abuse, that she was unwanted since her birth. Then later it continued with her father’s last words and his death (and later many other terrible events such as Ren sleeping with zodiac etc etc -_-+). At that point, Akito as child still had insecurities, this is why she has little tantrums Yuki mentioned in his backstory. Later Kureno’s curse breaking, everything changed.

After this point, instead of treating zodiac nicer, we see her treating them bad and constantly pushing the boundaries of the bond.

Now, coming back to your question and here’s the answer;

Self-fulfilling prophecy.

The Pygmalion effect, or Rosenthal effect,  is a psychological phenomenon in which high expectations lead to improved performance in a given area. (source)

When a person really really believe that something will happen, unconciously they start to act like ‘that thing already happenned’ and they behave according it and they turn it to reality.

When Kureno’s curse broke, that was the point that Akito believed ‘zodiac will abandon me’, ‘curse will break’. An illogical belief that no matter how she behave, that she will still be abandonded.

This is why first thing she does is start begging Kureno to stay. Of course Kureno is shocked and confused cause he didnt even once thought to leave Akito behind? Then why Akito is so afraid? Why is she begging for him to stay to someone who dont even plan to leave at the beginning?

Akito didnt abuse/hurt zodiac because ‘she thought they wont be able to leave’. No, not really. Actually its opposite. This is a lie Akito told to herself, that she wont be abandonded. When we know she actually believe opposite.

She was not being evil or spoiled. She was afraid constantly insecure.

Which is what Tohru realized when she encountered with Akito, that she was always feeling insecure since the beginning of everything.

To make it simply, put yourself in her position. And imagine, you dont want to be lonely. And you are with someone right now. But you are sure that that someone will definitely abandon you one day. Knowing that that person will eventually sick of you, would you be able to stand still in relationship?

Well, no you dont. This is not a problem with other person. Its a problem with person’s own insecurities. They believe that they are unwanted, unnecessary, that noone actually love them, they will be abandonded. This is what feeling insecure means in relationship.

And when those ‘insecurities’ reached high level, then person starts to act that as they are already abandonded, before actually being abandonded. And they make some preaparations for that ‘future’ that didnt even happen yet and a future might not even happen. And people with fear of abandonment sabotage their heathy relationships without realizing it.

Its something like;

1- Person have illogical belief that they will it will happen; Akito’s fear of abandonment

2- Illogical belief effect actions; Akito's getting angry for zodiac for future abandonment/something didnt even happen yet

3- Your actions affects other person’s belief; ‘Akito doesnt like me thats why she is always angry’

4- Other person’s belief affects their actions; They start avoiding with interacting Akito.

5- Other person’ actions affect your belief; Akito ‘i knew it, they dont want me. They want to abandon me’.

You can actually say Akito was punishing zodiac cause they will abandon her anyway. When Akito became so sure of that noone will love her and they will abandon her, thats when she started hurting zodiac members. Thats when she starts risking the bond with letting Tohru live with zodiac, accepting Ren’s bet and other events. Its almost as she tries to break the curse, its almost as she wants zodiac to hate her.

Akito is constantly angry at zodiac members because she already decided in her mind that they will not like her and abandon her without ever actually giving a chance. This is how a person with extreme fear of abandonment act.

Which is why we see Akito as constantly unstable and angry, seeing any sign as threat of being abandonded, even its not pyshically, emotional abandonment. Its not that she didnt want them to be happy, she was couldnt catch up cause of her own insecurities.

This is why she was always mad at zodiac members cause she already decided in her mind that they dont want her. This is why Akito never give really chance to female zodiac's cause she already decided that they are same as Ren. This is why she was against Hatori's marriage. To her, it wasnt some lovely couple. She saw it as Hatori is abandoning her. Would he even call and visit Akito as usual, if he was married? Then same cycle kept continued with others.

Rin and Haru didnt even thinking marriage, they were just going out. Or Hiro and Kisa were not even going out. This is why we see Akito's lashing out to them. She always in her mind with thinking worst possibilty and acting as "worst possibilty already happenned".

Anyone can feel unsecure and sometimes, those insecurities increase and person might easiely become toxic without realizing it and yeah for other person, its hard but for people who have fear of abandonment, they are in hell too.

Actually, this type of behavours are more common than people thought. When a person decide bad thing will happen, they act according to it to justify what "might" happen to them, then they turn their biggest fear to reality. This is what we call "self fulfilling prophecy".

And Akito is not the only one who acts like this in fruits basket.

Characters like Rin and Kyo acts with similar mindset. As fandom, we tend to call them as tsunderes and ignoring their flaws cause they have tragic backstory, i wonder how many people actually thought why they acted like that.

Rin was abandonded by her family and have fear of abandonment, just like Akito. Despite this fear, she always push people around her, being rude to them. Even when someone treats them nice, she immediately give cold shoulder and speak harsh, why?

Because in her mind, Rin already decided that other person will reject her, sick of her, that they dont want her. Then instead of giving a chance to other person, she will reject them. Akito and Rin are actually reacting back to the rejection in their mind, acting as other person already abandonded.

Kyo is also same, as Cat, he was always rejected one in group. This is why he always speaks rude, lashing out to even people who never did anything wrong to him.

"When a person believe that something bad will happen, they tend to justify it", sohma place already decided that Kyo is bad guy monster, this is why he tried to act like one by blaming Yuki for something he didnt, even though he knew he was innocent.

Also important note that even Rin and Kyo werent insecure as Akito because Kyo had actual parental figure Kazuma and Rin had Haru whom she said ‘he wanted me’ while Akito had noone who actually wanted her.

This is how a person who is extreme fear of rejection/abandonment acts.

Did Akito ever tried?

If you look at her backstory, she clearly did.

Because when we look at Akito’s backtory, she seems very nice and kind kid. She was trying to communicate with Yuki, Haru and laughing with Kureno etc etc.

Was Akito right about her insecurities?

Yeah and no. Before Akito never did anything wrong, zodiac members still tend to avoiding her since the beginning, (ignorance is pyschlogical abuse too btw) they would probably still end up leaving her behind but you cant be fully sure of that. Life is full of surprises. Life is risk. You cant let the fear the control you, you need to let go. But we can say its pretty much normal her to feel insecure in those sitution, she had every right to feel scary, her insecurities makes sense a lot.

Why Akito didnt become people pleasure?

One of the most common behavours of fear of abandonment is being people pleasure. The reason Akito didnt become one, it wasnt really an option for her.

1- she is literally god and family head, she cant become some kind of people pleasure, otherwise people would starts to look down and badmouthing to her.

2- she is raised as tough/masculine. Children who are raised this way tend to hide their weakness, they even feel shame for being "weak" at first place. Basically it was impossible for Akito to be people pleasure.

Though, we have people pleasure in fruits basket.

Characters like Tohru, Momiji, Kureno. They are people pleasure. (This made me realize ‘foolish traveler is people pleasure too, lol.)

Tohru wasnt abandonded but parents death still might cause a fear of abandonment.This is why we see Tohru's constantly trying please people around her, unable to say no, neglect her own needs etc etc. And Momiji is abandonded by his parents too.He tends to show similar behavours as Tohru's, trying to make all group happy etc etc.

Though, in fruits basket, being people pleasure is shown as kindness while its important to remember, its not. Being people pleasure is unhealthy and just because people didnt express their fear of abandonment by being people pleasure, that doesnt mean they are not being kind. Saying that would be victim blaming cause not everyone's sitution is same.

Series would probably tried to show that kindness can eventually reach to people and change things but well, being people pleasure isnt kindness and if you ever become people pleasure in relationship, the other person would also being cold towards you snd abandon you in the end because you cant expect people to realize your "sacrifice" that they never asked for, they will get tired, starts loosing respect towards you and leave you.

The more you afraid of something, the more it will turn to Real.

And as last, why Akito's actions were extreme?

I think Akito shouldnt be put in same sitution as real life abuser because

1- she had weird supernatural power that turning her words to abuse (if she didnt have this power, zodiac wouldnt care her mean words and "abuse" wouldnt happenned.)

2- she is literally cult leader who was told that she can do whatever she wants with them, making her unable to see consequences of her actions... she is literally conditioned to be abuser by both her weird power and environment.

So if she wasnt god and cult leader, she would be most likely Rin and Kyo and her interactions with people would be similar to their interactions with people so.

And i already wrote in here but still a quote from a psychiatrist;

Adopted child feels it inside, even she doesnt know it. When she first opened her eyes to the life, she was abandonded once, then she waits for exact moment again. Unconciously, she does the things that make other people angry, pushing their boundaries and she waits. ‘Will he leave me?’ She test what she knows the best, over and over again. First adoptive mother, later lover…’My own mother abandonded me, why wouldnt you?’

And Scar just invites himself to stay, he walks around that manor like he owns the place (and let's be real, he may as well <3) and Mumbo acts like he's protesting but we know he isn't <3 He even has his own ROOM there like. The fact that Mumbo and Scar have both spread rumors about the manor to keep people away from it, and Scar just being like "my stories are better B)" is just. I love it. I love them. In the early hours of Saturday morning, you felt a hand shaking your shoulder to wake you. Groaning and mumbling, you sleepily swatted the hand away and pulled the covers over your head. No one should be forced to wake up early on the weekends. It was Saturday, for fucks sake. Not to mention your hangover due to last nights mistakes was making your head throb.

The hand rested on your shoulder once more, shaking you gently. “(Y/N),” Mikasa said softly. “Your alarm has been going off for the past 10 minutes. Wake up. I have water and Advil.”

“Nooooo,” you moaned, snuggling deeper into your bed. “Don’ wanna.”

Mikasa stopped bothering you for a moment, and you let your guard down. Finally you could sleep. When it was time to wake up, you’d wake up.

Right as you were about to pass out again, your blanket was roughly tugged off of you. “Mikasaaa!” you whined, covering your face with your hands. “What was that for? I was trying to sleep.”

“Get up. You have to shower and get ready for lunch with Eren today. Breakfast is almost finished,” she explained, setting down the pills and water on your bedside table. “Go brush your teeth and wash your face so you can eat. Now,” she instructed sternly, moving to your window to open the curtains. The bright sunlight hit your still half-asleep face, making you hiss quietly.

She left the room moments after, probably to check up on breakfast. Honestly, you didn’t know how she could function this early in the morning despite having partied all night last night. Curse her and her inability to get hungover.

Grumbling to yourself, you adjusted your sleep clothes that had gotten disheveled overnight to make sure you looked decent. Your sleepy gaze wandered over to your nightstand to see two Advils on a napkin beside a glass of cold water. Thanking every higher power for sending Mikasa to you, you downed both pills and the glass of water. Even though you might bitch and moan to her constantly, you really weren’t lying when you said you’d die without Mikasa.

After sitting down at the edge of your bed for a few moments, you eventually shuffled into the bathroom to brush your teeth and do your morning routine. It took longer than usual thanks to your sluggish and tired movements, but you got done nevertheless.

A wonderful aroma came from the kitchen when you left, stomach grumbling in anticipation for the wonderful food you were about to scarf down. Mikasa was in the process of setting down both your breakfasts on the island, sitting down on the stools when you walked in. “Morning, Sleeping Beauty,” she greeted, resting her chin on her hands.

“Morning, sweet angel,” you replied, sitting at the stool beside her. In front of you was a plate of Funfetti pancakes with whipped cream instead of maple syrup (syrup was for pancakes only). There were a couple of cut up fruits beside them, too. “Where did you get these?” you asked, picking up your fork to take a bite of your breakfast.

Mikasa dug into her own breakfast of oatmeal as soon as you started eating. “Went grocery shopping and saw the mix in the baking aisle. I thought you’d like it,” she explained, taking a bite of her food. “Good?”

Your response was a moan, tilting your head back as you chewed. “Insanely,” you said, cutting up another bite. You stabbed the piece with your fork and guided it to Mikasa, keeping your hand under it to catch anything if it dropped.

She finished her bite and leaned in to take the bite, humming in satisfaction at the taste. “Good,” she nodded.

“They put like crack ‘n this shit,” you said through a full mouth, shoveling forkful after forkful into your mouth.

You could feel Mikasa's judging gaze for eating like a pig, but you didn’t care. All you cared about was eating these crack laced waffles as greedily as possible. “What time are you supposed to meet Eren today?” she asked to make conversation.

You remember drunkenly slurring to her that Eren was supposed to take you out for lunch today while she was trying to put you to bed. All she did was nod and dodge your flailing limbs while she tried to change you into your night clothes.

“He says 12,” you told Mikasa, setting your phone back down on the table. You went to go take another bite of your waffles, only to be met with stray bits of whipped cream and waffle crumbs. How disappointing.

“You have time to get ready then,” she said, finishing up the last bit of her own breakfast. Holding her plate, she got up to go put it in the sink, taking your plate for you as well. Literally an angel.

Suddenly, she leaned in to sniff you like the weird English professor you had your freshman year and cringed. “You’re gonna need all the time you can get. You stink.”

Never mind, not an angel.

Grumbling and cursing under your breath, you got off the stool to go take a shower. “And here I was about to offer to get you something for lunch while I was out.”

“A burger from the joint I like would be nice. So would a Coke and side of onion rings.”

“Size?”

“Medium for both.”

You would’ve caved in and bought her something, anyways. Might as well know what she wanted in the first place.

Showering took longer than expected. Most of your time got wasted by you standing under the shower stream and soaking in all the warmth. It wasn’t until Mikasa knocked on the door asking you not to use up all the hot water that made you actually start going through your routine.

The clock read 10:09 when you got out. You still had more time to kill until Eren came, so you elected to sit on your bed in your towel to scroll through social media. At 10:45, you started to get ready for real now.

Your makeup was just enough to cover any imperfections on your face, and your outfit cute enough for a lunch outing with your friend-fuckbuddy.

At 11:50, you stepped out into the living room with your belongings in hand to lounge around while you waited for Eren. You would’ve gone to bug Mikasa, but she had just stepped into the shower minutes prior.

12 on the dot, a rhythmic knocking was rapped on your door, meaning Eren was finally here. Skipping over to the door, you opened it to reveal him while slipping on your shoes.

“Hey,” he grinned when the door opened. He leaned in to give you a kiss on the lips after you’d straightened up from putting on your shoes.

A grin found its way on your lips during the kiss. It only lasted a couple of seconds, ending with you pulling away with a quiet smack. “Hi,” you greeted back.

“Ready to go?” he asked, one hand leaving his jacket pocket to jut his thumb down the hallway towards the elevators.

“Yup, ready,” you said. Over your shoulder, you yelled into the apartment to say goodbye to Mikasa and locking the door once you closed. “Okay, ready for real now.”

There was a new hot pot restaurant near campus, Eren told you, that he so desperately wanted to try. He overheard some people talking about the place in his Stats class, and he’s been wanting to go ever since.

“So, about what I told you last night,” he said, leaning on the table close to you after giving your orders to the waitress. “You said you would help me get Mina.”

“I said it was a bad idea,” you countered, taking a sip of your drink.

“But you said you would help me. For a price.”

“That I… did say,” you sighed. “What’s your plan?”

Smiling, he opened up his jacket and dug into the inner pockets, getting out a small notepad and a pen. Your eyebrows raised at the sight of them. “Okay,” he started, flipping through his notepad. “So I was thinking about it this morning, and this is what I have down so far.”

Sliding it towards you, he waited impatiently for you to read what he had.

Your lips pursed to prevent giggled from leaving your lips. Well, it was a plan, alright. Written in Eren’s chicken scratch of handwriting were a few very simple steps.

You bit your lip, deep in thought about Eren’s supposedly fool proof plan. “What makes you think it’s gonna work?”

“I know girls and how they act. If Paradis University let me major in women -- don’t get smart with me I don’t mean Women Studies -- I would be passing all my classes with flying colors. I know it’ll work, trust me,” he said cockily, leaning back in his chair.

“No you don’t.”

“Okay!” you cut him off, not wanting the strangers around you to know the intimate details of your sex life with Eren. “Okay.”

A moment or two passed, both of you staring at each other. You with a deadpan expression, and him with a proud one. You were the first one to break the silence with a heavy sigh. “Okay, say I agree to this. What do I get in return?”

“Anything you want,” he said. “Within reason, of course. Please don’t ask me to like, hide a body or something.”

Ignoring his last comment, you continued speaking, “You’re not allowed to back out of whatever I ask you to, right? If this plan fails or succeeds, you still owe me whatever you promised.”

Eren nodded. “Of course. I swear on it.” He shifted a little so his elbow was on the table, holding out a pinky. Instinctively, you held out your pinky as well and intertwined the both of them. Pinky promises were something you and Eren had been doing for years now. It meant that the other was dead serious on their promise.

The waitress came back with your broth and dipping ingredients, setting them on the table for you right when your pinkes left each other. Thanking the waitress, the two of you talked some more while you waited for the broth to heat up.

“We should make it official. With a contract and set of rules,” he said. “Like that one movie you forced me to watch with you. The Boys I Loved or some shit like that.”

“To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before,” you corrected.

“Yeah, that. They’re kinda doing something like us, yeah?”

“Guess so,” you shrugged, picking up your chopsticks and a sice of pork belly when the broth started to boil. “After we eat though.”

Idle chatter was shared between the two of you as you ate. Even though you saw each other nearly every day, you never ran out of things to talk to. You could be talking about complete nonsense or how quantum physics made no sense, and you would still have the best time of your life.

By now, the broth had been drunk up and the table had been cleared out to be replaced with banana milk and ice cream. Eren brought out his notepad again to write down the set of rules for your fake relationship while enjoying your desserts.

Good progress had been written so far on the notepad. Both of you had given input and criticism on each rule made. In the end, you finally had a good set of rules written down.

“And?” Eren asked, looking up from his writing, waiting for your next words.

“She always gets that when we go there.”

“Huh… I guess you’re right.”

I didn't know you watched Stranger Things. I adore your MHA works a lot (your characters' designs, your worldbuilding ideas,... they all are brilliant), so I wanted to ask about ST a month ago when I started watching the show ( but didn't know for sure that you even knew about it so). So, what's your thoughts for Stranger Things? Did you read any analysis, like about the subtext, symbolism,... of it?

first off you are correct steve and robin’s friendship is so great. wish we had more of their conversations this season but loved their rapport. robin’s coming out scene in s3 is one of my top 3 stranger things scenes.

my fav charas are probably… steve will max nancy? i like s3 robin more than s4 robin

i haven’t really read much Analysis of it actually... i feel like most of the things in the show are fairly surface level im not sure what i’d be reading into. then again somehow people still don’t think will is gay so maybe i’m making generous assumptions about people’s media analysis skills

i guess the Upside Down of it all is the ripest for theories but my honest stance there is that i don’t think the duffers actually know what they’re doing when it comes to their crafting the UD. the rules of the upside down are INSANELY inconsistent between seasons and episodes lol. why hopper got lung damage from the air there but steve’s been biting bats and getting strangled and getting chunks eaten out of him and just walking it off i do not know.

i think will and el should have scary sci-fi child vibes together & s5 should refocus on the s1-2 protags. i love the extended cast but i think the show is better when we have our Protagonists do Protagonist things. and noah schnapp should be acting beyond [tender emotional music] again!!!! even goddamn mike needs to step his ass up back into protagonist territory in s5 im tired of his s4 blandness

people speculate a lot abt the relationships in the show and like i said im not diving into all that unless asked but i am Tired of the nancy love triangle storyline we are 4 seasons into the show pls. 

my least fav plot line is probably ye old evil russians. like really. is that still fresh and groundbreaking in 2022. hopper’s storyline this season bored me so much. 

let me purge my followers of anyone who will take issue with this stance but fuuuuuck billy, one of those kylo ren loser charas whose following makes 0 sense to me hes literally insanely abusive to his kid sister and her friends of which he tries to kill the only black one like why are people ride or die for this man. i dont care that he has a sad backstory do you know how many people have sad backstories and aren’t like that. 

on the other hand i did love eddie this season altho i was at peace with him dying bc it spared steve. however i think his death scene was dumb and could have been done better. and i am sad they didn’t give us more of a steve bisexuality arc bc tbh it would actually fit his character. more interesting than steve pining after nancy again

Ohooho. You got it! I uh... went ham,

It all starts with the sounds.

The theme of this music is almost cartoonish in the way it wants to portay 'big, bad, evil' (chanting in a low chorus like a boogeyman "im bad I'm bad as bad can be." behind the main voice.) It reminds me of "How Bad Can I Be?" Which, ahem, while a meme song fits Scar's happy-go-lucky attitude that he upholds regardless of the guts and gore of the situation.

With a dramatic western attitude, the voice is very confident in his own image. It just screams Scar. Big Bad Scar trying to be spooky in that disney villain way he admires and reflects in his video and performance style. Its natural for him, but hes also careful with his words. He pauses, thinks, stalls for time when he speaks to people because if they get him rambling he'll give it all away. He is very very cautious this season in that sense.

Now, the lyrics! Oo I shiver at how well they fit.

If you'd like, we can imagine this "devil" as Grian. People have consistently seen him as a threat, Scott even dramatically and repeatedly calling him a monster. Hes death itself- the one who started it all.

Or, it can simply be other reds. People that Scar so far seems to be cautious of, but never fully intimidated by.

The last two refer closely to the comparison of the first season to this one. Grian was quite literally his only true ally, and now Grian frequently leaves him behind at any given moment. It's not fully Scar's fault, but Grian does take some care in talking and making deals with Scar. The game has changes course and they're keeping distant tabs on one another. Scar currently drives people away from staying at his mountain, despite claiming he wants friends. And for some reason (could even be dumb luck) Joel the first and possibly most unstable Red Lifer, lives right next to him and hasn't lifted a finger yet. This I'm certainly exaggerating, but I wonder how cautious Joel is of Scar ("I made the devil run.")

These next 2 lines are the only ones that dont fit easily, as Scar is incredibly clumsy lmfAO. However, I think it speaks poetically with 3 and 4.

From Scar and Grians perspective things are very, very light in s1. It does not apply to the others'. In the previous season Scar was terrifying. Ren and others wanted to protect their friends and stay together. Scar wanted to win or put on a show trying. It's why him and Grian make such a good team— they know there are limits to how they can rely on one another.

From the other perspectives all Scar did was talk people out of their resources and scheme to destroy them, regardless of any sort of spoken friendships. He was very, very dangerous. He broke many structural bones so-to-speak in the other teams, including trust and physical resources.

And in the end? It was Scar's little team against Rens whole army that won 3rd Life. ("They were an army, I was alone, I broke so many bones.")

The CHORUS IS MY FAVORITE THO.

Scar this season is lying to everyone around him. People are cautious, but only the very, very perceptive ones (to name a few: Etho and Scott) are actually catching Scar in his lies. Even then he doesn't let up his own act. This gives him such a good facade.

People are going to underestimate him. Hes so polite to some and to others hes burning them at the stake. Other people talking about Scar are going to find plot holes, twists and turns in attitude that just don't make sense. No one will know what to believe or not. His kindness feels genuine, but so do his threats. ("So bad that it's hard to believe what they say about me.") His gentle attitude makes it really difficult to grasp his violent intentions at times.

And recently, especially with the destruction of a recent horse he seemed to be attached to, he's revealed a little to others about his values. "So bad that it's hard to believe, I don't care what they say about me." He is first and foremost a businessman and a showman. If people are scared? Great! If people think him kind? That's just good for business.

That's the most frightening thing about him being isolated this season: He doesn't care as long as he gets what he wants. But he'll pretend he will up until the second he knows it doesn't matter. No attachments, all deals. If people don't show him kindness he remembers and returns the favor later, and explicitly states he will frequently in his perspective.

Now, to remember 3rd Life S1 again:

A refusal of resources, a few missteps and misconceptions here and there and they had a war on their hands. To Ren, he was fighting for his team and his empire. To Scar, he was made into enemy #1 for... what reason? They did nothing wrong! Just having a bit of fun. All of this is a game and something Scar's character takes much more joy in than some other perspectives. It's not a game in some views, which would make him... what?

Crazy? Literally insane in some sense that he would treat this battlefield like middleschool capture the flag?

They targeted him and Scar simply didn't like it, so he took up arms with Grian and the rest and killed Ren himself. ("They wouldn't share, so I took it all, I watched an empire fall.")

How quickly did/will they fall in love? - Ooooh boy. Azula struggles to understand friendship. I think she'd fall in love fast and hard but take the longest to realize. Aang wouldn't let himself get attached at first because Azula is unapologetic and one of the things I like about Azulaang is how it would push Aang to deals with the nitty gritty gray, not in a The Fire Nation was right all along way but in how even Kyoshi and Roku's conflict resolution let to disagreements. I think it would take Aang longer to fall in but once they reach a semblance of common ground he'd be well aware he's falling in love and would enjoy the ride.

How was their first kiss? - Let's see my fanfics. In Blue it was awkward. In Weightless it was sweet. In Smut it was horny and hate filled. In canon I think their first kiss would be very passionate and then they snap back to reality and Aang would evade while Azula denies so they wouldn't talk about it but they'd for sure be thinking about the kiss.

Wedding:

Who proposed? - Technically Azula. As soon as Aang hears about a Fire Nation wedding, either his friends or he learns about Ozai and Ursa's wedding, his mind would be set on a wedding. He wouldn't say anything but he'd squirrel away relevant wedding information like he'd hear a song and go "I want that instrument to play at my wedding." But Azula would have her life planned out by other people and there'd be a set date where Ozai now Zuko are supposed to comb through suitor requests (it was probably Ursa's role. If she's there she'd talk to Azula directly instead of Lo and Li. I don't think Lo and Li are high enough rank to determine the suitor but I think it would be customary/expected for their input to be asked). Azula would tell Aang something along the lines of "I should be wed." and he'd agree and then Azula will spend an abnormally long time wondering if he married her because he liked her or because it's his duty until she asks him while he's discussing potential baby room colors pre wedding.

Who is the best man/men? - Sokka and Toph. Azula was going to pick Momo but he made a better flower girl. Yes she did this to annoy Zuko (and because Toph didnt want to wear the bridesmaid outfit) it's okay though Fire Lord Zuko was the guest of honor.

Who is the braid’s maid(s)? - Katara, Suki, Mai, Ty Lee. Mai pretends she hates the outfit but she's secretly pleased.

Who did the most planning? - Aang did the most thinking but Azula did the most planning.

Who stressed the most? - Externally Aang. Internally Azula.

I think it's up to the reader's preference but I can see them being very private (Azula) and naturally talented (Aang) to the point where they assume every couple has sex daily. Hc that Aang and Suki talk about sex freely (ex: When I do __ should I __ or do girls prefer ___? I can never tell with Azula. Why do guys do ___ after ____ ? I've tried asking Sokka but he doesn't give me a straight answer.) Much to the fear of Sokka and Azula.

How many children will they have naturally? - hc them having twin boys at first with one firebender and one airbender because poetry. But Azula really wants a girl so they have a third child she is an airbender with Aang's charm and knack for getting in trouble and Azula's ruthlessness. Amon kidnaps her and instead of easily escaping (Aang's genes) she instead viciously mocks him the way only a preteen can (Azula's genes.) It's traumatic enough for Amon even before the parents show up. Then Aang wants another one and Azula wants another firebender so they do the do and surprise triplets! (maybe it has to do with ejaculatimg in the Avatar State lol) So 6 in total and lets say its 3 boys 3 girls with 3 airbenders 3 firebenders.

How many children will they adopt? - None. Azula is wary of motherhood and I know people like to hc Aang as adopting and while I can see him acting as a father figure to several kids I think he'd greatly prefer biological kids especially airbenders. It's a flaw that was barely touched upon and def not handled well in Legend of Korra.

Who gets stuck with the most diapers? - Servants or Aang. After a kid or two Azula would be comfortable enough to change the diapers but it would still be mostly Aang.

Who is the stricter parent? - Depends on the kid. Aang is more lenient with airbenders and Azula with firebenders or girls. I can see Azula being strict with training & studies but not with sharing whereas Aang would have less rules but they'd be more heavily enforced (ex: no airgliding without supervision until you've mastered the safety course)

She's pretty lenient with the term dangerous esp. when it comes to firebending as long as basic safety measures are applied (ex: you can pracrice lightning as long as it's not pointed towards yourself aka dont be Zuzu) but Aang is of the mindset "How are you gonna learn airbending without dangerous stunts?" And after the first few incidents she started stepping in.

Who remembers to pack the lunch(es)? - Azula but Aang cooks them.

Who is the more loved parent? - Appa

Who is more likely to attend the PTA meetings? Azula. When Aang attends the teachers shower him and his kids with compliments ("You're doing so well teaching your kids the values of the Air Nomads. It must be so hard being The Last Airbender"). They do the same with Azula but unlike Aang she sees through it and manages to get an accurate assessment of how their kids are doing.

Who cried the most at graduation? - Aang was more happy than sad. Azula cried before and after.

Who is more likely to bail the child(ren) out of trouble with the law? - Aang. He is a notorious lawbreaker. Azula would bail the kids and she could do so quicker than Aang in a few cases because of her connections but she'd be mad so their kids would rather call Aang or break themselves out.

Cooking: 

Who does the most cooking? - Tied. Aang at first but then Azula wants to learn and after Aang teaches her since she has less experience she finds more enjoyment in cooking.

Technically Aang since he's a vegetarian. Azula hasn't tried as many foods and she's used to not making a fuss at the family dinner table to the point of which Aang notices.

Who does the grocery shopping? - Both. Aang has a better eye for vegetables/fruits and Azula is better with prices (it's not about the cost it's about the value).

How often do they bake desserts? - Aang bakes them when he can/weekly. They're fruit based so if Azula doesn't want dessert he gives it to Momo or flings it at a target.

Are they more of a meat lover or a salad eater? - Gee I wonder. Aang eats salad Azula eats meat.

Who is more likely to surprise the other(s) with an anniversary dinner? - Aang but Azula tends to figures it out. Azula is more likely to plan a dinner but she wouldn't make it a surprise.

Well,, i just finished the last animated episode of Nana and I have a few thoughts,, also i feel empty feel empty for some reason but im just going to ignore that (there will be spoilers !!!)

- I absolutely hate sachiko (the one shoujo cheated on hachiko with) her character was annoying and i wanted to punch her pretty much everytime she was on screen,, Her character isnt intresting and her actions fucking suck,, I am very pro sachiko slander

- Despite reira being a literal pedophile,, I think she was written really well,, she is a very layered character who is greedy and selfish and in a way very manipulative,, using shin was a horrible thing,, the only good thing about her is she has nice hair, but I liked watching scenes with her,, seeing her interact with trapnest/other characters was insightful,, sometimes it feels like you could almost justify her actions if it wasnt for the absolute no no illegal shit she did since she acts so lovely wtih some characters,, (DOING THINGS WITH A FUCKING MINOR????????)

- Ren wasnt interesting,, I never really felt like i was getting to know his character or why he does what he does,, etc, most of the interesting parts came from mostly Nana,, but I still feel like he’s somewhat of a realistic character,, there just doesnt feel that much to him on a very surface level

-Hachiko did get on my nerves at some points,, but she was greatly mistreated by so many people that it angered me,, even at times be Nana,, shin was probably the truly nicest person to her,, she has a lot of natural human flaws,, and she was a very greedy and materialistic person who was on the more sensitive side, and really only seemed to think the most about relationships,, she did have a mothering quality that probably attracted shin to like her,, In summary I Both love her and dislike parts of her,, she has some pretty unhealthy mindsets but has shown she can grow

-Nana definitely came off as a complex person,, she was abandoned by her mother at a very early age and that affected her pretty much at every point throughout her life,, I kind of thought it would be more empowering for her not to be so focused on ren,, and for a while she wasnt,, and she kept trying to reject the idea of him in the year off that he went to tokyo,, but in the end (of the anime) she was with him,, I also feel like thats realistic and I dont blame her for that,, She seems to need him in one way or another,, but i know shed be able to survive even with just Yasu

-Yasu was probably the big brother/uncle/father role everyone needed to keep their shit together,, I swear he mustve lost all his hair from second hand stress of these broken people,, I godamn love this man,, and he handles things so well,, and maturely too,, he always dealt with everyone during the whole show,, and pretty much always knew what to do,, we all need a yasu in our lives

-Shin’s character was pretty heavy ,, its very obvious his way of (TW,, S/H) hurting himself was sleeping with older woman,, it was for sure a destructive behaviour,, He basically got manipulated by reira even though she still liked yasu,, and shin was aware but its sad to know that he pushed that aside just because hefelt like for once someone valued him,, Hachiko was one of the only people that loved him without expecting anything in return,, conculsion - shin needs a better family and therapy,,

Theres more characters but Ive written a lot so Im just gonna leave it for now,, I will 100000000%%% rewatch the show again and again and again forever and ever,, Im only a teenager and these are real life mature themes and actions that I want to understand better and I’ll make sure to watch it even when im a full grown adult,, I want to understand it all as much as I can

I'll be honest i dont know the exact benefits of therapy ive only had counselling a couple of times bc it was free and i was on the brink but i do have so many many thoughts DJSKLBF

Every character in vanguard has thier own issues and while some of them are nuanced some of them are really really obvious

Aichi is very clearly depressed it's not even subtle and as someone who's been through situations that make Aichi's story relatable I think therapy is something he really needs but I've stressed before that Aichi even goes through relapses and such. Vanguard is what's helping him through it its the closest he's getting to therapy. Maybe it's from being bullied in school but Aichi has serious self esteem issues and the core of Vanguard is imagining yourself as the best version of yourself- It's really not a subtle message. Kai brought him into the world of Vanguard and it completely changed his life. Slowly but surely. Even his family note how happy he becomes after getting into vanguard and meeting Kai again. The development on aichis part is really slow but in fairness depression is just like that.

Misaki canonically has PTSD after the death of her parents (this was more severe in V series but at the same time it felt really brushed over which is a real shame) and similar to Aichi was depressed and had little interest in anything before being dragged kicking and screaming into a game she was so scared of. Once again Vanguard is the key to getting through- not over- her issues and she's far happier with her life now.

Kamui is easy to overlook bc he's younger and isn't as clearly distressed as the rest of the team but I think he has serious social issues. He's a popular kid among his peers and he thrives on enthusiasm but he's also vulnerable in his own way. He's intimidated by change and finds it hard to understand other people I think. He has a hard time feeling he belongs with people. One of those people who has so many friends but rarely lets any of them close. He found where he belongs in Q4 and thats why when he finds Kai hard to deal with he finds is especially hard. It's really hard to say what Kamui's issues are tbh but I don't doubt therapy would benefit him too. (I hc he has adhd and dyslexia but that's more of a me thing) Kai in particular has serious issues with running and hiding from his problems. He acts all cool in order to push people away. Obviously he's already fucked up from his parents death and the first person who got him to open up after that was of course Ren (and Tetsu) unfortunately as a result he didn't realize how high a pedestal he was putting Ren on that it absolutely shattered him when Ren turned out to not be the person he had been in his imagination (Don't give me any of that he changed bc of psyqualia thing, that's a metaphor and you know it and you're missing the whole point) and instead of trying to accept Ren as he was he ran away. This is addressed again in the Psyqualia Aichi arc when Aichi starts to get lost in his own power- giving Kai the painful reminder when once again someone he's connecting to might not be the flawless and innocent person he imagined them to be. The difference is, Aichi brought him close to a whole lot of other people and Aichi himself made him realize that he can't keep running and that's what brings him to his senses and able to face it.

Not Q4 but relevant; Ren has abandonment issues probably due to his shitty parents (although this is only really established in V series where things are quite different but i still think that's the case in the og) so when Kai didn't approve of his new self and worst of all walked away without even saying goodbye it sent him over the edge and he became the nasty and aggressive cardfighter we know him as in season 1- all because he wants Kai to come back to him. He has a single minded OBSESSION with Kai that's really not healthy- and while after season 1 he starts to get better he never truely lets go.

Kai and Ren could BOTH get over their issues if they would just talk about it but unfortunately they both have issues with communication that make it impossible- hence why cardfight is so important to them now. with thier imagination and putting thier true selves in this game it gives them something in common and a way to communicate through all the issues they have with eachother and at the end of LM though it's been really slow its clear that they ARE healing. It may sound silly, but Kai making an off comment about how he doesn't like the way Ren is dressed is a BIG thing for him. I could analyse this moment till the cows come home because its the first time Kai manages to express himself with words, clumsy as it is. What "I don't like the old you" really means below the surface is I know and accept that you have changed. And Ren's playful response being "Then you like me as i am now?" while he is being playful that in itself means I'm still not the person you want me to be I will never be that again but I'm happy that you can finally see me as I am. It's really important to me....
